Laws?

The Land of Avalon is a freeform medieval/fantasy roleplaying site loosely based on Arthurian lore. Avalon is home to many friendly members, administrators, and position holders, most of whom are always willing to RP, no matter how new a person might be to the site. With a large shop system full of various spells, items, and equipment no two characters are the same. Newcomer Posts: 1 Group: Members Member #5,395 Joined: March 13, 2009	’The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.’ I've noticed the City of Trevena is a pretty lawless city, as is every single other city, pretty much. Can walk around and slap a girls bottom, no biggy. Punch a guy in the face "His fault." Seems to me like laws are missing in cities or lands. Sure, sure, restrict creativity - OR, more opportunities to roleplay? What's the sense of a Thieves Guild if there is no law for them to break? These laws, I assume, would be set down by the royalty or nobles. They don't need to be abided by, but that would obviously be a point issue in the topic. If the laws displease citizens of Avalon, or Trevena, then that gives an opportunity for a site wide plot to dethrone the king. Edited by Exodus, Nov 20 2009, 02:13 PM.

Though, chances are that we're never going to get a crimes act to study, and it wasn't really Carter's glory anyway, people have been complaining about this in the C-Box for ages.

So few cities actually implement magic into their economy, despite how common it seems to be, so I'd assume that similar things could happen while setting laws.

Member Name Ant	Meh, I figure the King gets to declare laws, and local laws change from city to city. Still wanton violence and murder I always figured would have some sort of stop. I also imagine there are probably elite units in certain places that can afford them to deal with the unusual threats and would be rather efficient at it. (Wizards, vampires, werewolves.)
