After running for her life once again, Masi stopped at a river. Trying to catch her breath, she grasped her neck that was adorned with gold. Her white skirt was ruin in her running around, making the skirt much more revealling then she would ever allow. The material wrapped around her chest held there tight with it's broze color.

"The gods, why must you torment me so," she cried out in ancient egyptian.

The night walked down the sky with the moon in her hand.
Orcs. Green, grey, and even red-skinned creatures with square-shaped faces and massive underbites. The dirtiest, most dingiest of entities to 'grace' the land of Avalon. Violent and dim-witted a majority of them were. Chaotic and unruly as well. Confined to the most hellish of places that man, sorcerer and beast had to offer. Surprisingly, Arangoth wasn't one of those places.

No. This city was the home of hundreds, if not thousands of well-mannered orcs. Assertive, yet at least ten times more advanced than their mindless polarities. Every orc in the world bore the usual features of homeliness and varying level of militancy. Darmor couldn't have been more surprised to find out that a civilization such as Arangoth existed.

Not every citizen and commoner was an orc, however. As he traversed the dirt pathway, Darmor came upon a young woman standing at the side of a river. She cried out in what he assumed was her native tongue. He racked his memory. Was she speaking Egyptian?

"Are you all right?"

A male voice startled Masika and she turned around so suddenly that she slipped and fell into the river. Oh the gods, not another male, she thought and gasped before she hit the water.

Earlier in the day, she had ran into a group of men and they tried to seduce and persue her. She ran into two territories and ended up wherever she was at now.

Resurfacing, she gasped for air, causing the swallowed water burn her throat that she was forced to take in. Her black curls were clinging to her face and was unable to open her eyes and tried to reach for the edge of the river but only skimmed it when she nearly had a grip on it.

Darmor hadn't meant to make her fall into the river. But, he obviously did. His eyes widened and for a brief moment, he wondered if she knew how to swim. That thought alone made him remove his shirt and crouch to dive in after her. Before he did, however, she suddenly resurfaced. Her hands grazed the riverbank and she attempted to grab onto it, but to no avail.

He dropped to his knees and caught her by the wrist.

"Kick forward a bit, I'll help you out of there."

Before she could ever fall back down under the water, something firm grabbed her hand and she used her other hand to cling to it. Trying hard to breath and not to panic she moved her feet and found herself getting closer to him. With relief she was able to hold onto the edge and stayed there for a moment to let her heart calm down.

"Thank you," Masika said in her tongue. Releasing a hand from the mans arm, she moved the hair away from her face and looked up at him with her lavender eyes.

He shook his head.

"It was my fault, I'm sorry," he apologized. "Are you all right? No bruises or cuts, I hope..."

Tentatively, the warrior released her hand. She made no move to get out of the water, so he didn't attempt to physically pull her out himself. Though, he wondered if the least he could do for this young woman was buy her a new set of clothes. Her current apparel was probably soaked and ruined, if Lord only knew what the hell the orcs in Arangoth dumped into their rivers.

Lifting her foot to the ledge, Masi was able to pull herself up and out of the water and laid onto her back and relaxed for a moment and heard the man speak again. Glancing at him, he seemed to be shaking his head as if he did something wrong. Waiting to see if any pain had started to settle in, and found none she spoke gently, "No pain," she struggled in his language.

Closing her eyes for a moment, Masika shivered and tried to think of a better way to talk. "You startled me," It sounds wrong with this accent. "Not your fault. Was scared from pack of men earlier," Masi trembled as a memory of one of them touching her popped into her mind.

Darmor bent back down to help the woman in her struggle. Once she was out of the water and on dry land, he slipped his shirt back on, embarrassed to have taken it off on account of his own rashness. He apologized again and scanned her, quickly, from head to toe, for any visible injuries. There were none. He let out a subtle sigh of relief.

"I'm sorry for startling you," he said. "But if you don't mind my asking, who was bothering you? Maybe I can help you..."

Shaking her head clear from the memory and to think on his apology, Masi swallowed hard to feel her throat burn once more from the forced water she had to drink down. "Was off guard and scared. Men kept touching and grabbing," again she shivered.

Another man had went up to her and threatened her neck with a dull blade, telling her in her ear very furiously that she was not to make a sound. And by his mistake he made enough noise as she struggled to get away from him that the others found him and fought him, giving her the only chance to escape. Unfortunately, more men appeared from nowhere and hunted her down. She was glad to have lost them on her way here.

"Men. Men far from here. Ten of them," Masi breathed out as looked at him. Something was different. Did he have a shirt on when he came?

Darmor's eyes narrowed. Not at the woman, but at the idea of a group of debauchees bothering and fondling her. The very thought affronted him. Made him want to take his blade to their throats. He absolutely despised cruelty against women. Those who abused or raped other females deserved nothing but a hearty guillotining.

"Where are they now?"

Whether she told him or not, he decided it was at least worth a try to find out where they might be.

Seeing the man's eyes narrowing, instictively, Masi flinched and curled up into a ball. Being on a slave ship makes you a little more paranoid than asked for. Slightly fearful, she answered him softly, "They should not be too far now if they wanted me badly."

And without further more on it, three men appeared on the other side of the river, their eyes only from the damp woman on the ground.

The night walked down the sky with the moon in her hand.
Three men, armed in their own right suddenly appeared on the other side of the river. It went without question; they were staring at the woman, oblivious to the fact that Darmor hadn’t the intention to join in on their chase.

Stay here,” he muttered, leaving the woman’s side to meet her assailants on the bridge. When he was close enough, he called out to them.

Hail,” came his greeting when they were close enough. He dwarfed the men by more than a foot. “What is your business here?”

"Speak of those who are damned and come they appear," she whispered in egyptian as the man who saved her left her to herself on the ground. "No, don't, sir," Masika begged as he headed to a bridge she just saw now, her hand reaching out towards him.

The men growled as a man came forth. "That ain't any of your business sir. Now move, or my brethren and I shall strike ya, where ya stand. And believe me mate, that girlie over there is gonna get herself a nice ol' treat from us. Don't you fret none for her."
