Today i turned one hundred and ten summers old. Tis a special birthday for me this year, for i had decided long ago that this day would be the day i leave to find my place in this world. I will make my way to Cithaelian! Today i shall set out to become what i know to be true! I shall be the worlds foremost spell slinger! By the gods i shall! My mothers side of the family will come to regret their actions towards me..one day they shall rue the way i was treated! To think, that they stripped me of my heritage because of the tryst between father and her! Oh yes i will claim what i am due! |

Its been four days since i left father at that god cursed place. I have been lucky of late, as the weather has been quite pleasant this season. With the few meager supplies that i was able to scrounge, i have been able to survive the trip, although not pleasantly. what i wouldnt give for a fine wine and a good woman! To think i must travel in such a fashion! Its beneath me by the gods! But i shall endure.for it shall not always be this way! I swear it wont! |

Its been nearly a ten day, and only now am i within sight of the grand city! Curse my luck for getting lost! Backtracking had cost me nearly three days! My food supplies, which were meager to begin with, are nearly exhausted! The shining point of this grand misadventure however was the glimpse i had of a rare creature! One of the largest eagles i have ever seen! i luckily came across it in the middle of the night as i made my way to make up for lost time. I walked up this hill and as i reached the top, there she was, preening herself! what a majestic creature! Its feathers were a jet black, while it had a streak of snow white across her head from her beak streaked back to her body. I am ashamed to say that at that point i feared for my life..but only to myself! For the rest of the day i think i shall rest, before once more continuing towards the capital. I figure i have at least two more days til i reach the gate! |

Cithaelian!! What a city to behold! Never have i seen such a sight, except in my dreams and stories! Even from here i can see the majesty of this great place! The university standing tall among all the gret houses enclosed with Cithaelian's magnificant walls. The roads well paved and symmetrical. Clearly a city of knowledge and power. Even from here i can feel it and it calls to me! Tomorrow i shall enter this mighty city and begin my learnings! Tomorrow i shall take the first steps on my road to destiny. |

Finally i have made it to the capital! today i enter the city proper, once the gates open that is! Truthfully, i am eager for exactly that. I can taste the magic and knowledge stored within these walls! If i am to be a worthy scholar, then I MUST have it..tomorrow it begins! Tomorrow my journey into the unknown will start and im anxious for the day to begin! Not to mention the very thought of a fine cooked meal, with a nice wine to go with it, has my mouth watering in anticipation. Oh come soon dawn..by the gods come soon!

Well i have finally made it into the city. This place is quite a busy one. It doesnt suit me, too many warm bodies for my taste. But at least i get a hot meal, and a decent drink out of it. In fact i found a quaint little place names Sarlitti's. Its rather nicely done, clean tables and floors. The clientele leaves something to desire, but i can deal with it. Perhaps tomorrow i shall make my way to the library. As for the clientele...maybe i was a little hasty in my judgement, after all there was a decent looking brunette..however she WAS with a rather noisy and boisterious older fellow, who apparently had too much to drink. |

the decent looking brunette happens to be the guide and bodyguard that i had requested to meet me here. Her name apparently is Morgana, and she is half elven. Against my better judgment i think i shall continue to seek to hire her, im mean at least a part of her is elven, night elven by my accounts. She seems capable of handling herself in difficult situations but only time will tell. She appears to take offense at my train of thought, but i believe i will be able to handle that. If it will keep me safe, then i am more than willing to deal with some petty humans and half breeds. |

hmmm the half breed may be of exquisite beauty but her mouth and demeanor shall get her into trouble before long! i may be an understudy for the present and not worth the time of day, but it shall not always be so. I will strive to better myself, to improve myself! Once i am able to do this, all that have slighted me, shall feel my wrath! Yes be careful half breed, for you tempt your fate! But for now i shall keep my thoughts to myself. I have need of her experience and her protection, much as it galls me to say this! How i hate to have to be beholden to the protection of a half breed and served by these wretched human animals! I may be of half origins myself, but at least i am full elf, and not a barbarian such as these humans seem to be |

It seems that for me to begin the process of becoming a mage of reknown and power it shall take the amounts of money that i, for now, do not have! But how to obtain such a level of monetary gain as i shall indeed need?!For i refuse to serve another being any longer! It is beneath what my station should have been. I have not the skills or strength that would be required of me to craft items. Nor do i have the wish to do so in the first place! This is a problem that shall take some thought to resolve. I must ponder on this for a time... at least the half breed has been keeping to herself so as i may think! |

hmm..perhaps what is needed is to think i AM able to offer! I, of course, have known my letters and numbers for quite some time now. Perhaps i could do something with that? hmm...maybe what is called for is travellers guide to this land from the perspective of a lone traveler?...yes that idea does prove sound in my head. Very well i shall begin to recount my experiences then! From people to places, sonds, sites and smells! i shall recount all of this here in my journal then!! When i am ready then i shall write the book for the public to put to use! hmmm... but the problem i face is that this is my personal journal as well...very well i shall head the pages of all my travel entries with exsctly that "travel entries" yes and i shall write it better than i shall this! now to begin with this place here..... |

TRAVEL ENTRY!! Cithaelian is quite a grand place to behold for the first time. The wide clean streets are all made of white cobbled stones, to better allow the heavy traffic to move about. Even just coming close to the gates to enter you can hear, and smell the bustling of this city life. The smells of baked goods, such as freshly baked breads, and homemade pies and cakes waft throughout the air. Hawkers scream out their wares to passing travelers, as mothers hustle their children out of the way of passing horses. The buildings, made of smooth carved whitewashed stone, raised high on either side of the expansive avenues. Topped in brightly colored tiles, numerous buildings held a banner denoting their occupants hanging from above. Most of these building, roughly one in every 4, had stained glass windows letting the sites of the streets into the insides. Of all these impressive towering buildings, the ones that are the most impressive, of course, would have to belong to the royal palace, and the cathedrals. But before we take a look at those let us look at some of the places a actual everyday traveler should check out first! |

TRAVEL ENTRY!! Of these places lets us begin with indeed my very first experience in this wonderous city! A inn and tavern by the name of Sarlitti's. Looking like any other normal inn of a quiet and expensive reputation, Sarlitti's is quite more!! Upon entering Sarlitti's you will be welcomed by the very air in the plce. Smells of freshly baked bread mingles with the aroma of roasting meats upon their expansive cooking hearths in the rear. Scented throughout this establishment slightly, is the pleasant aroma of freshly cut lavender, replaced daily. The floors, kept quite clean, are made of polished hard wood in the color of Redwood. The same can of course be said of the tables and bar. The atmosphere is one of quiet, yet friendly camaraderie. Populated by the type of people who have grown accustomed to having their own way. Even so, they seem to be quite pleasant to talk to. Speaking of pleasantness, their food! Sarlitti's boasts quite a wide array of different types and styles of food for the patrons. All of these are of course quite good, but the tender roasted pheasant holds a small place in my heart! Slowly cooked over a small flame, basting in sage, garlic, a leek onion mixture for several hours, it really is quite exquisite to taste. Add to this their unique wheat garlic rolls fresh from the oven, and serve it with a chunk of their very own aged cheddar, and a glass of their dandelion wine and you have a meal to remember!! The staff working there is, of course, quite up to meeting the standards all of this sets for the customers as well! Knowledgeable, and friendly they are quite professional in these regards. Although i must confess that i find the fact of their being humans to be quite disconcerting. But the fact that even with being nothing but humans, Sarlitti's is quite a good find in such a busy city as this! A place where you, a weary traveller, can go to get back to the basics and unwind from your long travels! |

TRAVEL ENTRY!!! Another place of interest to the average traveler is of course the Marketplace. Located within the center of this bustling city, the marketplace is the location of all your needs or wants! walking down these wide stone cobbled lanes filled with hustling persons, and merchants trying to hawk their wares is quite an experience for one to witness. It is nothing for you to walk next to a high born, while talking to a trader in illicit goods. In fact those very same high born could very well be procuring those very same goods! Shops located within the marketplace have a sort of semi-permanent feel to them, being built of wood, and thatch as it were. In fact very few of the merchants within the marketplace seem to own any sort of stone building, suggesting that they travel quite a bit themselves. For the traveler in search of those items of want and fancy, you could of course do worse than here! I recommend checking it out at least once, but beware, items of power have been known to be hidden in such locations! |
