You Gotta Make It Happen.
Äelindis rubbed his forehead. He usually did that when he had a headache.

And, of course, when he had a headache, he had a drink.

"Another glass of ale, sir." he asked the barman.
The barman bowed politely and went to get the elf his next pint. The inn was known for it's ales and beers across Avalon, and it came as no surprise to the barman that the elf seemed to like it. Like he always thought, he could recognize a true connaisseur when he saw one.
Needless to say, even connaisseurs get drunk sometimes.
All the same, regardless of his passion for beer, he was a bit... foreign.
He passed the beer over to the elf, who seemed to be watching him intently.
Gripping the glass with both hands, he downed the beer in one go.
Äelindis slid the glass across the bar with expert hands.
"Another one, sir?" the barman inquired.
"Sorry, lad. Got to stop myself before I get drunk."
And without another word, he walked towards his table and sat down, staring into the fire.
Thinking about his current situation, Äelindis noticed that he was the only one who seemed to be drinking, and that everybody else was staring at him.
He sighed. Sometimes he hated being different. He wished he could fit in, and, well, belong. Like a real person, not some mercenary who makes his living by joining companies that pillage guardian shrines.
He thought back to that time, where he cared just about himself, his friends, and of course his lion, James.
Where has James got to? It has been about two weeks and three days now that he's been away, and he rarely leaves for five days in a whole year. He had to get a sword so that he could go out and find him without putting himself in danger of robbery, murder, mugging, and all that sort of crimes. Funnily enough, he wasn't the most popular person in the village right now.
Everywhere he went, people whispered. And pointed. And even occasionally stared. If he had James, Nobody would have dared to point or whisper. It's amazing what the presence of a white lion does to a person.
Realizing that he had to leave, he turned and left the inn and set off onto the road again.
