...without remorse...
In front of you stand a man and a woman. Each of them wearing formal clothes of an azure hue. There is a table in between you and them. You find yourself seated already. A chair is on the other side in which the lady had occupied. She had long black straight hair. Her face seems to be rather pale and is not wearing any cosmetics. Her red lips smile at you as she spoke. "Good evening. Welcome to the Azure Chamber. My name is Mitternacht. This is my assistant, Seiger," She introduced the two of them and nodded. "You are not here with no reason. It must be fate that intertwined our fates. Do not be alarmed. The questions you hold in your head will soon be answered. Until we meet again." You vision started to fade. It seemed impossible that you would forget such a dream. Or was it more than a dream? |

Sword Saint
Xue Jian blinked, or so he thought, and he suddenly found himself looking up at the stars of the late evening sky, wondering who those two people had been and what meaning their words held. A strange dream to have, all things considered. He and his new friend, Koralle, after a momentous first meeting, had only just managed to slip away from the bandits they'd fought a few days prior, and now they were just trying to enjoy a break from the stress of being pursued. Turning his head, he saw her lying in her bed roll on the other side of their campfire, which had burned down to low embers. The eerie sounds of the wilderness could be heard all around, and he couldn't tell if she was awake or not. Getting resettled in his own bedroll, he tried to nod off again, but for some reason sleep seemed to be eluding him now. Not wanting to disturb his companion, he kept trying, but for the moment at least, he was met with no success. |

Watch me fly... You know I'll crash...
Serenity's eyes shot open, only to let out a sigh of relief to find she was in the exact same tree she had slept in, everything exactly the same place she had remembered before she had fallen into the comforting darkness called sleep. Nothing out of the ordinary... Note to self: Lecture my subconcious so I'll have dreams that actually make some sort of sense No matter how hard she tried to shrug it off, the dream remained in her mind, replaying it over and over as if it was on loop. She couldn't help but think that the dream was too vivid, too clear... Too real... As if it wasn't a dream at all, but an actual event that occured. Azure Chamber? Mitternacht? Intertwined Fate? Questions shall be answered? Sounds like those calls of destiny you read in story books... Deciding it was too much of a thought, she laid back on the tree branch she was sleeping in and closed her eyes, deciding to continue this thought in the morning... But no matter how hard she tried, sleep never came... |

More than carbon and chemicals.
She awoke with a start, breathing hard. That was ... one of the weirdest dreams she could ever remember. And there was something disturbing about it as well. As if a lead weight had appeared in the pit of her stomach. She didn't like that feeling. It made her ... nervous. Koralle sat up, wiping her forehead briefly. What a weird dream ... As she caught her breath, she tried to go back to sleep, but the dream stayed in her mind. The longer she stayed awake the more she thought about the dream. Mitternacht ... the woman had said. Midnight? The talk of fate, it was laughable at best. Koralle, she didn't really believe in such things. She didn't know what she believed in these days. But there had to be more than just one word to describe why life turned the way it did. Pulling her legs to her chest, she leaned against her knees. Now she'd never get back to sleep... |

...without remorse...
He found himself wondering who those people were before he found himself rolling off the bed and landing on the floor. Reiku got up and looked around, seeing that he was till in his home. His wife slept slept soundly and it brought a smile to his face. He got back in and tried to sleep but found that his minds were filled with hollow and empty thoughts that did nothing but keep him awake. [next thread coming soon] |

You Gotta Make It Happen.
I woke up. And fell out of bed immediately after. Groaning, I opened my eyes. I took in my surroundings. I seemed to be safe. At least, there was no maniac pyromancer standing over my body with the generic mad look in his eyes that all people who live dangerously seem to acquire after some time. Satisfied that no one was trying to kill me, I got out and reached into my bag. Taking out my mother's impossibly strong lionflower liqueur, I took a sip. It burnt my throat, and froze my lungs. It was a nice sensation, the kind of euphoria that is unique to alcohol, and to my mothers brews. She used to work wonders with herbs. I sighed. Sometimes he wished that he could five years old again, with nothing to worry about except his friends. Whenever I wish that with one part of his brain, another part would counter it, and the two parts of my mind would just shout at each other for days on end. They made such a racket that he couldn't sleep. My head filled with song. Not the low wail of lamenting bagpipes, nor the cheerful cry of the nightingale. It was a sound so pure and innocent that it would have brought the goddess of justice to tears. In front of me, a woman dressed in white seemed to appear. At first, she was just an abstract figure, but then she drew all the light around her to herself and, out of it, shaped it into the appearance of a woman. And she spoke: -Äelindis, we need to tell you something. It was a voice as pure and innocent as the song, but underneath it all you could feel that it was unimaginably ancient. -Go look for your father. He has moved to a distant land, and he lies captured in the hands of the nameless. Go seek him, and you shall find others who share the same fate as you. As her last words died away, Äelindis wondered what she meant by the ambiguous message. Getting dressed, I quickly stuffed everything into his travel pack and departed. [Alright my first Rp post on this site!] He sighed as he noticed that he had been limbing for the last hour or so, granted the body had been pushed to three days nonstop movement with no sleep, it was begging to tear on it. Normally Zeresh would ignore such minor things, but it took time to get a new body as long as he was in his weakened stage. He walked to a nearby tree on the side of the dusty road and sat down with his back to it. He then let himself slip into unconsciousness. He now stood in his demon form in total blackness. From the darkness a whimper could be heard, Zeresh looked around the space, there was an annoying buzzing to this place. As he located his “Host” he found the reason why. In front of him sat an old man, starved and not really sane from the looks of it, he say desperately clutching a sigil of whoever his god might be, the buzzing was him chanting. He turned with a horrified look yet did not manage to move before Zeresh had placed the palm of his claw like hand in front of him “Sleep” Zeresh muttered with a commanding tone that echoed away into darkness. The man stopped chanting, his gaze became faint and then he fell asleep. The Darkness that surrounded them began to change at a rapid pace, forming walls in mere second, forming gallant tapestries, and then finally forming two persons. Zeresh rarely cared for the dreams of mortals, the mere concept seemed somewhat strange and useless to him, yet he did tend to enjoy the sensation of false hope the humans would get as they dreamed of salvation. The man woke up yet this time he was happy, joyful. When he looked at Zeresh he saw straight through him, for the sake of their mind he usually left them to their own devices in their dreams. He approached the two figures, one of them sitting at a table the other standing vigilant behind hew. Normally Zeresh would find little interest yet there was something odd about all of this, it was confirmed when the lady sitting at the table gestured towards Zeresh and not the man to come and sit in the chair. Zeresh slowly moved forward until he came to the chair and then sat down, the man simply just sat down in a chair as well, though this one was placed against the wall and rather far away. Then as he turned his gaze around to the lady at the table she began to speak. Until we meet again." With this it all dissolved and Zeresh felt himself pulled violently back into consciousness. He awoke finding the bandanna crossing his left eye, or rather where it was supposed to have been, it was a side effect of possession on his part though why Zeresh had never really understood, but he didn't really care anyway. He took the bandanna and put it over the empty eye socked once more and then simply sat down again. It was only a dream after all.. Yet as much as he tried he could not slip into unconsciousness again... |
