Dinadan opened the door to the large and crowded bar with the slightest bit of hesitance. His distaste for many of the crass and vulgar inhabitants of such places made him cringe a little. Standing next to him was his new companion, and friend, Flash. The young woman was dressed in a flowing coat, and had a blue tinge and streak to her hair, perfectly matching the Azure coloring of her eyes. Putting his hand on the hilt of his new sword, the paladin walked inward, and allowed his eyes to adjust to the change in lighting. Nodding to Flash, Dinadan moved toward the bar, leaving her to find seating, or anything else she might like. The paladin leaned into the bar and ordered two large tankards of water. Not wanting to contaminate his wits with spirits, alcohol was out of the question. He waited patiently for the liquid, turning back to the tavern at large, scoping out its contents. |

Flash Strike stood behind her friend, and although she noticed his hesitance to enter, the dragoness did not comment. Her strange blue eyes flicking about the place, and her noise crinkled in distaste at the sharp aroma of ale, and beer from the humans inside. The dragoness noticed the hand on his sword, and cautiously, followed suit. Her hand resting on the cold surface of her sword hilt, a sword of water. Dinadan nodded his head to her, and she inclined hers politely back. Dinadan moved towards the back and she quickly, although indirectly directed herself towards an empty seat, placing herself in a position were she could see the bar, the exit, and there was no one behind her. Her eyes, having assessed the people close and far, flicked towards Dinadan. He was collecting water, her favourite element to say the least. She was glad he would not expect her to drink the dark, sharp smelling liquid of the men around her. |

Dinadan made his way to the table where Flash had settled. "Not sure if it is tasty, or even cold, but it is wet, and my lips are dry." he commented as he placed the water down in front of her. The Paladin then sat across from her and began to survey the room once more. It was filled, and loud. The dull but persistent roar of a hundred conversations blending into the clatter of mugs, and the cackles of laughter as the alcohol numbed the minds, and tickled the funny bones. "If you want to see all ends of human behavior, this...this is the place." he said as he turned back to Flash, and took a sip of his water. |

The dragoness frowned at the rowdy setting, and strange specimens around them. Chances where they would need to mingle with the lot, see what information they could gather about this little riddle, search for anyone with a missing eye, or maybe only one eye in the first place – a Cyclops would be hard to miss. With a slight sigh she took a cautious sip of her water, it was far different to the pure type she was far more use to. “Guess we better start asking questions?” The dragoness wondered to her friend, raising an eyebrow as she tore her gaze from the crowd and placed it on Dinadan. |

Stopping in, as she would have done on any of her other trips to Trevena, Lydia made her way to her usual table. The place was packed, as usual. The Horseshoe was probably one of Lydia's favorite places in the world- that being said, she'd only seen the Northern and Southern Lands. |

Dinadan nodded to Flash, "Yes...questions." he spoke. The paladin then twisted around in his seat once more, surveying the room. His eyes landed on a young woman, no more than 20 years, dressed in green, with deep blue eyes. Do all women adventurers have blue eyes, he wondered to himself. She looked similar to a woman he spotted when he briefly patroned this place earlier. He turned back to Flash, and motioned toward the woman warrior. "Perhaps she might know something." he said as his head tilted in her direction, "she looks like she has been around." he finished. The paladin then stood, motioned for Flash to follow, then made his way over to the table the green dressed warrior had chosen. "I am Dinadan of the Glein." he announced, "and this," he pointed to where he hoped Flash had followed, "is my friend Flash." he put his hand on one of the chairs at the woman's table. "We were hoping we could ask you a couple of questions, as we are new to these parts, and on a quest, as it were." |

Flash of the lightning Strike followed her friend as he good to his feet, swinging her legs to the side and jumping up to follow. She stopped when he walked to his chosen adventurer and introduced himself and Flash. Flash inclined her head politely, but did not speak to her; rather she turned to Dinadan before speaking. “This may be faster if we split up, my friend” She murmured softly, and with a swish of her long cloak she turned to pick a victim of her own. She stopped in front of a stranger, swinging herself into a bar stood before turning her attention to her picked stranger. He wore a long cloak much like the dragonesses, and there was a glint of knowledge gained by long journeys in his emerald eyes. “Hey there” She grinned lightly, and he slowly turned his gaze to her. She beamed him another grin before continuing on. “Mind if I ask you a question or two?” She wondered lightly. |

Lydia smiled invitingly at the man as he approached. "You're new around here?" She restated. "Sure, ask whatever you like." She carried on waiting for her ale to arrive. "I'm Lydia," she continued, not wanting to forget to give her own name when the man had already politely introduced himself. |

Dinadan nodded, and then pulled out the chair he had chosen. Sitting, he smiled in thanks to the woman. "My friend and I," he began. He pointed at Flash, who had since moved to another table to ask some of the others in the tavern, "...have come to Trevena in search of someone...or something." he stated. He could tell the woman was not clear on his intent. "I was given some information, about what I believe to be a particular person that I must find." he added, "The information was this. Tipped ears, a single eye, skin the color of soot. A missing finger, a missing tooth. That is all I was given." the paladin finished. He took a large mouthful of his water, then laid the glass down on the table and waited to hear what the woman warrior would have to say. |

The main regarded her with suspicion, but nodded his head. “Ask away girl” He muttered, taking a swing of his beer. Flash Strike took this as encouragement and nodded her head. “A friend of mine is looking for someone, and all we have to go on is a riddle” She first explained. “Tipped ears, a single eye, skin the colour of soot. A missing finger, a missing tooth is the riddle, heard anything like that by any chance?” She asked lightly, and the green-eyed adventure seemed to take a moment to think. “Sounds like an unpleasant fellow, but I haven’t heard a thing in regard” He told her none-to helpfully. Flash sighed and nodded her head. “Thanks any way” She flicked him a coin as she got to her feet, locating Dinadan with her eyes before walking over. “No luck over here, how about for you?” She wondered |

"Pardon," Lydia replied, "I didn't quite understand the question at first." Lydia made an effort to remember one such man. Tipped ears, a single eye, skin the color of soot. A missing finger, a missing tooth... "Well," she said, "I don't think I've ever come across, or even hear of anyone like that." |

Dinadan frowned. This is pointless, he thought to himself, like finding a spruce in a forest of pine. The young paladin nodded in thanks for what little help the woman could provide. He turned to Flash and shook his head, indicating he was having as much luck as she. Then, after a moment's thought, the young paladin decided to take a chance, and ask another question. "Thank you m'lady." he started, "How about any Dark Elves. Have there been any of the sort around these parts, or have you encountered any within the city or nearby?" he finished. For sometime Dinadan had a suspicion that the description given in the riddle best described an elf of the darkness, or Drow, as they were known in many parts. |

"You're quite welcome," she replied, feeling a bit guilty that she couldn't say much more to help the man. When he asked his next question, she responded more quickly. "We get all kinds of people here," Lydia replied, "but even so, there have been some large groups of dark elves in the city lately..." |

Flash Strike raised her eyebrows and shrugged as Dinadan said that he to was having no luck, as through the dragoness was saying she had nothing – was out of ideas. But then Dinaden turned his attention to the stranger and began to quiz her again, asking after dark elves. That’s right... he believes it’s connected to a dark elf she remembered. She grabbed a seat and swung herself lightly down as the stranger began to answer, it seemed they might be there a while. She gave them a lead and the dragoness gave a half-smile. “This might be worth checking out?” She suggested to Dinadan with a light shrug. And hay, if she got to bet up some bad guys – all the better. Ooc: Aye! If you’re going to post with us, Lydia, can you please at least not skip my turn? |

Dinadan listened with keen interest as the woman named Lydia explained that large groups of Drow had been about the city as of late. "This does sound like it might be something for us to go on." he said to her, and nodding to Flash in agreement. "Any one in these parts associate with them, who might be able to give us more details for the right price?" he asked the woman. (OOC: I am not sure if turns are needed to be exact here, so long as noone declares actions for any of the others involved. If others are having problems with it, I will gladly go based on a turn based method) |
