Trevena City Library was where Grumbars journey began. In a desperate search for his past, the dwarf looked for any clues to who he was, starting with a tattoo on his arm, he didn't recognise the rune and went to the library to study it's origin.
Being the forgetful dwarf that he is, he researched the same books over and over again unknowingly, until an Elf named Alosia helped him.

Grumbar found out that the rune simply said 'Earth' in a very old dwarven language. He visited many Dwarven arcanist, historians, tattoo artist but to no avail. Until by chance a drunken cleric noticed it and told him all about the Guardians, and how they used runes simular to the one on his arm.

Grumbar was back into the books, he wanted to find out as much as he could about these Guardians, mabey they could help him with his memory. He took particular interest in the Guardian of Earth, Alezra. It was the word Earth on his arm, so it made mist sence.

Luck was with Grumbar, he found an aincient map, one such map that highlighted religious areas, religious wars, pretty much the majority of religious historical events were mapped out. Grumbar took note of the location of 'The shrine of the Earth Guardian Alezra'.

Grumbars feet were in agony, he had never travelled so far, or so he believed. Everything around him seemed so familiar, as if he has been here before, but he wasn't sure. In front of him was a glistening lake, undisturbed, peaceful. It was so large he couldn't see the other side, the slight mist from the vapours didn't help his vision much, it was really warm, even so late, almost dusk. Now what? thought the dwarf, he scratched his head and brought out his journal.

He skipped the parts of how to get here, he was certain here was the here he wanted it to be. A small note mentions that he should wait, if he could take a nap before nightfall and keep hold of his notes incase he forgets why he is here. It was almost nightfall already, so no time for a nap.

Grumbar sat near the shore of the lake, sat down and waited, for what he didn't know. Was he to meet someone? Will he know what to look for when the time arrives? He just didn't know. He just sat there, waiting.

The Earth will shake.
The guardian, was in fact, not busy at all these days. After the chaos of the elements and the arrival of new guardians following, little else had needed her attentions. Though she had gained a new follower or two, nothing more had occurred which needed her attentions. So once again she was content in the freedom that her position allowed. Staying within the oasis was an easy task considered it was the only home she had. And she never could leave for too long without risking one of the caravans needing aid or smugglers and poachers invading her paradise.

For the moment however, the shape shifting chimera was acting quite ... kittenish. Though she had assumed her more or less human form at the moment, she entertained herself in ... pouncing ... butterflies! A handful of bright green flutter bugs had shown up in her oasis seemingly overnight. And now they resided in a patch of special flowers the guardian painstakingly cared for. Of course, being of the earth, gave one a green thumb. And soon a small patch had become a large field!

Landing, carefully mind, upon an emerald green butterfly, she caught it deftly withing her hands. But something would divert her attentions, causing her feline ears to give a twitch. A guest! She liked when visitors came to the shrine, being a social creature that she was. So carefully folding her hands around the viridian insect, she began the walk to the shrine.

Knowing all the paths of the oasis made her trek a simple and efficient one. Soon she had come up to the lake surrounding the sacred shelter. Stepping up to the back of the dwarf, she would give a greeting in an uppermost chipper tone. "Hello!"

Sitting there peacefully, legs crossed, the tired dwarf watched the moon rising on both the high sky and it's reflection on the still lake. The sky was cloudless but it was still surprisingly warm. He watched little lights flying above the glimmering water, tiny glowing insects attracted by the sparkles bouncing on and off the surface of the water.

"Hello."

Grumbar jumped up from his sitting position like a loose spring, his heart was pounding, the blood ran from his face and the hair on his arms and the back of the neck stood on end.
A little girl stood directly behind where he was sitting, her pleasent innocent appearence calmed him.
"What in blazes?!" scoffed Grumbar, "Little girl, haven't yer parents ever told ye it's rude to go sneaking up on people, esspecially a dwarf!" he scolded, "talking about that, where is your parents? How did you get here?" Grumbar took a quick scan of his surroundings looking for others.

She would laugh softly, before opening her hands and letting the butterfly return home. It would find its way back, this she knew. The scent of flowers was powerful to those with animalistic or supernatural senses. There was just something ... magical, about them.

Her head would tilt slightly as she laughed again, this time at the dwarf's reaction. If her appearance as thus startled him ... he ain't seen nothing yet. The young guardian scratch an ear, the feline entity twitching slightly. "Parents?" The word was only vaguely familiar to her. But she shook her head.

"I live here." She stated in a matter of fact sort of way. Because, it was true. And the guardian never had any reason to lie. Stepping past the dwarf, carefully mind, she approached the edge of the lake. "You here see shrine yes?"

She's laughing at me. This little girl is laughing at me. The manners of the children these days. Grumbar just looked at the girl as she approached the waters edge. He was gobsmacked that a child could be so bold with an adult in the middle if no where, she was lucky this dwarf had no I'll intentions.

"Ye know bout the shrine? The shrine of the Earth Guardian? Aye, I'm here to see it, ye can say I'm looking fer some answers". he looked at the girl from a new angle, there was something different about this child, he just couldn't place it.

Being a good natured creature, the guardian laughed often. She never meant to offend, but id something amused her in any way, she would show it. Her laugh would however die down to a small grin, as she knelt by the waters. "Ah. Almost time then. Yes." Her manner of speech was ... odd, but she never really noticed. It was something most got accustomed to.

"Answers? What your question?" A hand would raise to signify 'wait a moment'. Slowly a series of stones would begin rising from the lake, leading a path towards the island in its center. When they had rumbled to a halt, she would nod thoughtfully to herself. "Come come. be careful yes? Dun wanna have to go swimming yes?"

Stones began to rise from the water, water spilled from all side of the flat surfaces, leaving them dry on top.
Grumbar was slightly taken aback from the sight, he took a small step back. This was the first time he could remember seeing this sort of thing, he was a bit wary of such things.

The child summoned him to follow her across the stones, he didn't really know what to do.
His tattoo started to itch again, his right hand instinctavly went over to scratch it, looking down to it he saw the the black ink now gave off a faint green glow. Grumbar nodded and walked towards the stones.

The girl went across first, jumping with the agility of a cat, she looked like she wasn't even trying as if she had done this a thousand times it more.
Grumbar slowly started jumping from stone to stone. Good thing his armour didn't feel so heavy.

Skipping lightly over the stones, the guardian made it to the opposite side in record time. Yes, she kept count of the seconds. Turning swiftly upon one heel she awaited the arrival of her newest guest. Rocking on her heels she made sure he could get across without going for a dip.

But then, as if suddenly recalling a fact, she turned with a hop and scurried to the large doors shielding the ruins from the desert sun. The soft clink of a chain upon the door would ring as she grasped the heavy links in bot hands. "Just ... moment." And with a strength certainly unexpected given a lass her size, she pulled the large doors open with only a bit of effort.

Grumbar was so glad that the suns rays bouncing of the nights moon were bright, its white glow showed the stones amongst the dark waters. Taking his time Grumbar jumped from stone to stone, fireflies retreating when hecgot close, then regrouping as he past, it was like a dance of lights hovering around the dwarf.

The abnormally quick girl was already across in no time, Grumbar still wobbled around half way. He watched as the thin child yanked open what looked to be an incredibly heavy set if doors. there's something about this kid that isn't right. Grumbar almost lost his balance but something kept him aloft, he thanked his lucky stars as he couldn't see how deep the lake was.

Eventually Grumbar made it across, he walked with a little extra spring in his step as he strode towards the child once more.

Dusting her hands of desert sand, she stepped into the darkened hall, motioning the dwarf to follow. The interior past the doors was of old walls, the surface painted and carved with various runes and cave like depictions of beasts in the wood, felled hunters, wolves tackling prey, and other such more primitive things. It was cool inside, most opposite of the arid desert, and the walls were slightly damp with condensation.

The guardian continued to literally skip past all of this. She had of course seen it all before. "I show you. Most interesting part. Yes. Many things to see in oasis, but shrine is here. Hidden from desert wind and prying eyes. Is comforting though. I wouldn't move it if even could." She rambled on a bit, as they trekked. Other than the carvings and painting on the walls, there wasn't much else in the area. Except the occasional animal print i the dust, and some strange ones that just didn't seem to match lay out here and there. A few piles of straw was placed in a corner for any of the aforementioned beasts to nap upon.

Examining the large heavy doors Grumbar couldn't get his head round the idea if how this little girl was able to do the things she does. she ain't human, that fer sure he hurried along the dark halls to catch up with his guide, his eyes flickered to adjust to the difference in light, he could see in the darkness of the tunnels as good as a sunny day out in the plains.

Eventually the dwarf caught up with her, he got distractted a few time with the drawings on the walls. "Um.... My name be Grumbar, Whats yours? How do you know of this place?", he walked along, in a quick pace, beside her, he had a feeling he was getting closer, his tattoo was glowing in the dark tunnels.

Of course, she often inspired that effect on people. She knew she was ... strange, but she never thought to try and alter these things about her. The guardian was as she was, and had no reason to be any different. Like a wolf did not cease its hunt because it was a wolf, regardless of other's fears or disbelieving as to the nature of the beast.

Though she had gained further understanding through magic and the like, she was still animal in more ways than one. At the very least, however, Earth was as gentle as they come. She did not fight unless it was the last resort, and tried to avoid injuring her opponents whenever possible. Even if it did cause most of her peers to underestimate her. But what did it matter?

As her rambling came to a close, the two would at last exit the tunnel into a large open space filled with statues. At each corner of the compass was a different depiction of an animal made of different earth materials ranging from the richest jewels to most mundane stone. The guardian had laughed again, stopping in the midst and turning about. "I said. I live here." She found it funny that he'd forgotten already (as she assumed). Her head would tilt as she noticed the growing tattoo at last. "Alezra." Another laugh. "You were here to see me? Yes?"

The chamber ahead shone ever so brightly, the jewels, the stones, they all bounced out rays of multi coloured lights, all the colours of the rainbow. Grumbar knew the statues were worth more than what he could ever earn, but he never cared for there value. The craftmenship of each piece was unique, divine, exquisite. He couldn't see any flaw in there design, it was as if they grew into the shape they were in, no chisle marks were to be seen.

He couldn't help but stare in awe, what the jeweled statues made up in wealth the lesser stone made up in beauty,  he subconsciously walked upto one of the stone statues, right past a jewelled one, he was about to reach up to touch one, but stopped just before he did.
did she say she was Alezra?

Grumbar turned around to the little girl. Ofcourse, it all made sence, when previously said she lived here he gathered that she lived up by the lake, with a caravan of sorts. The graceful cat like agility, the unseen strenght capable of easily opening doors that Grumbar would struggle with.
Why could he not see this before.

"I...I'm ...I'm, sorry, I didn'y realise, I mean, I didn't realise. It just your form, I read In books that you were a huge, horrifying, vision to behold, one that I'd never be able to forget even with my condition." he thumbled as he realised what he just said, "sorry, I didn't mean to be rude". The dwarf tilted his head in shame.

Another effect she had on others. It was an old habit that the young guardian forgot to introduce herself first. Thus leaving others at a shock or cowled position that they dare speak so casually to one of Avalon's celestial creatures. It was soon evident however that the guardian cared nothing for pomp and circumstance.

With a childish grin she would rock back on her heels. "Well... I can be. But I don't like scarin people." Her head would tilt in a curious puppy way before continuing. 'Its not nice. You know." A hand would raise to scratch an ear. "I don't think I'm that scary tho..."

Turning back round to the stone statue, he placed a hand on it to feel us smoothness, he tensed up ready for disapproval for touching, it didn't come, there be two main reasons that i can think for someone to pick the firm of an innocent wee girl, to manipulate and decieve inorder to lower someones defences. Or, she prefers the way people talk to her before they find out who she is, one reason for a late introduction.

Grumbars hand glided across the flawless stone, it shone like it was coated in varnish I honestly don't believe a diety would bestow the title if Guardian to anything that would misuse it's power. Grumbar gulped, then turned round to face Alezra.

"so lass" he began talking as if she were the average joe, "ye get much company in these here parts?" he just hoped he was doing the right thing.
