Helena sat in her families crypt with her single candle flickering sickly in the darkness and the shadows folding in around her. She had done a little to make her new 'home' a little more comfortable by bringing down some blankets and furnishings. It was not the sort of place you would want to live in being nothing more then a dark dreary place filled with the dead of generations but it was her home and the place she felt safest. Sitting in her chair at the desk she had purchased she wrote a small poem for herself thinking over those happy days at the opera house. Her long white dress cascaded over the chair. A waterfall of elegant and expensive fabric that glowed in the warm light of her dimming candle. The night sky was just outside her crypt door and she had left it cracked a little to let the moonlight in when her candle went out. It worked very much the same however for her candle light washed over the cold grey graveyard just outside. Her inkwell pen moved across the paper in elegant strokes as she signed her name and then looked back to her mothers tome. The thing that had frightened her most of all when she had woken up was they the sarcophaguses were often times encased in to the stone wall and bricked up so grave robbers could not get to them. It had made her felt rather buried alive but to her luck a grave robber had tried to rob her when she had been dead and they had started on a nice little hole that allowed her the freedom she needed. Yes that was quite the morning for her but now she was perfectly alright staying in the crypt rather then an inn. She belonged here and yet she didn't. Some part of her was still dead and wanted to 'haunt' the place her body was meant to lie. Playing with her curls a little she stood up and walked over to her small little bed with their beautiful red satin sheets. She was not poor not in the least. If she wanted she could stay in the finest inn Avalon had to offer, but the finest inn did not make her feel so at home. Laying down upon the bed she put her hands behind her and let out a small sigh whispering to herself, "Here lies Helena Detra Blache, beautiful singer, and well loved...by someone." Lifting up her hand she gazed at the diamond engagement ring knowing someone had given it to her but who had he been? |
