The swamps were silent, not even the lizard men who lived her seemed to be out patrolling their territory. They remained hidden until the time this sorceress, this witch had left there home. She had left a path of destruction, one easily followed. Yet it had not been laid out because this person was wicked and just destroyed on random, it was done to cleanse Avalon of the...undesirable creatures. Lizard men laid upon the ground, their faces twisted in strange screams as their bodies sank into the surrounding swamp. Their faces were cold and stiff, the glittering ice that had formed near their mouths sparkled in the sunlight that had forced its way through the trees high above. A trial of ice lead to a small clearing where the forest seemed to have been completely frozen over. The cool blue steeples glittering lightly as small rays of light fell upon their glossy surface. The ice was so clear one could see their reflection within it, so perfectly beautiful like large crystals growing up from the ground. It was no surprised that the emerald eyed raven haired enchantress loved the ice so much. Anna stood by one of the cold steeples gazing at herself in the surface. She seemed to be muttering to someone quietly, speaking to her own reflection but so quietly you could not hear it. Her emerald eyes flickered in the reflection like two stars in the sky. Her long raven black hair was tossed over her right shoulder leaving the other bare. Her pale smooth skin stood out from her dark red dress with its tight bodice and long black sash resting on her hips. Long billowing sleeves swayed gently as she moved continuing to be in deep conversation with what appeared to be herself. Ice and mirrors, they were her best friends. Illusion surrounded the elf-human woman. Quietly she finished speaking a little louder this time, "I promise you mistress I shall not let you down. You have my word." When she fell silent she turned away from the ice's reflective surface and turned to a lizard man male who was still half alive. She rested a hand on her hip and looked down at him, her eyes surrounded by the darkness of her makeup. "So my dear...where is your village?" She asked in a cold dark tone. The lizard man looked up to her with his snake like eyes and hissed back, "We do not betray..." "We....but your all alone...all your friends are already dead and your soon to join them...however you can save your miserable life if you just tell me where they are." She turned around as if she didn't care either which way what he had to say and put her back to face him. "We are never alone..." The lizard man snapped back before spiting at her, "If I die then I die, but they will live." Putting a hand into his snout he pulled out his tongue and with his razor sharp teeth bit it free. Blood ran over his jaws and dripped down into the muddy water to the swamp. Taking the bloody flesh in his claws he threw it at her with an insulting look that had sent Anna over the edge. Putting her hand up a small blue orb formed in her hand and with little effort she threw it to the lizard man turning him into a living ice sculpture. "I thought so...fitly animals." |

Andumi's laughter, clear and melodious, was warped easily by the mysterious air of the fog. Instead, it sounded much like some sort of demon's battle horn, a clarion call to rally the forces of evil. Which, in a way, it was. After hearing tales of a mage as destructive as this one roaming the countryside of the Southern Lands, Andumi was drawn from his usual haunts in the West and North to investigate. Of course, finding the woman had been an apparently easy task. "Ha ha! Nicely handled, my dear ice witch. If I may ask, is there a reason for this sort of slaughter, or are you just getting it out of your system? No matter...I'll find the gauge of your true strength soon enough..." Andumi's voice echoed unnaturally throughout the swamp, emphasizing the silence that came afterwards. Of course, it was also helped by the fact that he'd gained a well-concealed vantage point among the foliage of a particularly large cypress tree. "By now, you're probably wondering who I am...All I'm going to tell you is that I'm an ally, of sorts...one who shares the same goals as you: The Purging of this...Avalon. Now, I'm willing to join you, and lend you my strength...if you can manage to find and defeat the...special traps I've laid throughout the swamp in your wake. The lizardmen, too, will be helping, but this time...they will be the hunters...you have until sundown to find and subdue me by any means necessary...Good luck, my little half-elf! Ha ha ha!...." Andumi's offer was a mad one, mostly because he had no idea exactly what this woman was capable of, partly because most of what he said was complete and utter bullshit. But the woman couldn't possibly know that. Grabbing a sharpened staff he'd whittled on the way here, he made a final check of its aerodynamics and lethality before letting it fly with lightning speed and accuracy. Of course, he wasn't just going to stand there and watch it hit; he had already silently leapt from his perch and was on his way to a secondary roost to watch the random mayhem ensue. Briefly he felt a pang of guilt about the genocide of the lizardmen; they would have made excellent shock troops against human opponents, and their numbers could have been increased rapidly to provide him with an effective infantry force... |

The word witch caught her ear and deep down inside she felt a small spring set off. Still she composed herself and stood tall as anyone like her would. One of noble blood she knew how to behave like a proper lady and would remain as such despite rage. After all she was not some mindless killer, she was smarter then most men and incredibly manipulative and with the help of her new friend inhabiting her mind a deadly little force to recon with. Folding her hands she replied in her soave sophisticated tone, "Simple...this is not destruction if I was causing destruction you would be unable to follow me. I'd rather be the quiet killer in the night you never see coming. This is an eradication of those pathetic excuses of life. Animals denying what they truly are and playing as men. They are an impure bred, and abomination...uncivilized. Therefore unless they accept being animals they die. Avalon does not need such...grotesque creatures...and besides I clear them out I have their land and land is power in today’s society...twenty years as a countess taught me that." Her eyes did not move to look for him, she could hear him with the excellent senses she had inherited from her mother. Even if she looked mealy human her mothers elven abilities were strong within her. Rather then pay much attention to him at all she moved to one of the trees incased in ice and ran her fingers along the smooth surface, a n array of sharp jagged shards had erupted from the ground surrounding the cold pillar with beauty equal only to an exotic flower. Green eyes moved back to the direction of his voice as she ran her fingers through her dark hair and gazed at herself in the icy mirror with a small smile. She was beautiful in every way a woman who captured hearts and rather then break them she turned them to stone so their masters would follow her blindly even to their deaths. Anna replied to him with her beautiful exotic accent, "Hmmmm...actually I wasn't wondering at all my dear gentleman. I was actually just wondering how my dear uncle was doing. It does get quite cold in my homeland this time a year...I wouldn't want him to catch a cold." Placing her finger on the petal of a vibrant red swamp flower she watched with amusement as icy crystals formed over the delicate pettles trapping it in the ice and sucking the life from it. Standing back up she turned quickly, her long dress flowing from her sudden movement as she lifted the skirt just a little and laughed, "Traps you do say...well I am afraid I am in no mood for games so why should I participate? I have far more important things to do." Walking closer to the tree he was in she finally looked up with a smiled, "Couldn't you just come down and discuss things like civil people rather then play games?" She was not easily frightened...in fact she never got scared ever since the witch came into her. She felt so much more powerful now that she had her little teacher. When the spear flew her way she threw a ball of sparkling blue light that crackled as it hit the spear freezing it over and slowing it down in time for her to catch it with her bare hands. The spears tip glared at her in the eye and would have gone right through her head if she had not slowed it down with the ice first. Dropping the little toy she turned to the tree he was moving towards and threw another ball of sparkling blue light that hit his next destine perch making it nothing more then a slippery death trap. This was interesting, just a little but not quite that amusing. With a shrug she tilted her head up to look at him, "Come now...are you quite finished with this game or shall I freeze your feet to the branches my little tree squirrel...or perhaps you would prefer running. I never complained about those who run away...a kiss of death usually dose them some good. Have you ever had your breath taken away...how about your lungs frozen?" |

Andumi cursed to himself at this one's evident lack of playfulness. It seems she was all business....how disappointing. Still, her skills were impressive....and she was certainly beautiful enough to attract Andumi's eye for longer than just a few passing seconds. But still...this bitch just blew him off! For a moment, he was angry, furiously so. But then he forgot about it, and just didn't care again. "Very well, Countess Mage....I shall engage you in open negotiations...." Andumi said tiredly as he dropped down from his actual perch, just behind her. Of course, he'd also taken the time to set up decoys and noise makers in the other trees as well, to fool the ice sorceress. The mists parted to reveal Andumi's cloak ruffling gently in the breeze, revealing his greatsword, but not his assassin's blade, tied to his waist. Not to mention his fine robes, recently cleaned and repaired, thanks to the ever-diligent Senriyu's efforts. Of course, she had no idea where he was now, and he planned on keeping this little exchange an absolute secret from her. His face, handsome to the point of almost being beautiful, was blank. Even his eyebrows were passive. All that marred, or perhaps, enhanced, this look was the scar he'd taken the time to accentuate for this occasion. He bowed, slightly, but elegantly. But inside his mind a raging torrent of violence was being directed at the very soul of whatever this woman was. He would crush her. Oh, yes, he would. But not before he used her until she became a liability. Then, hopefully, she might be...gotten rid of. But that was a problem to be encountered in the future. "I am...Andumi syr Reignas, My Lady. My apologies, but...you are so beautiful...I just didn't see that sort of cold, calculating personality behind it. If anything...I'm even more intrigued by you." Andumi decided to introduce himself with a compliment. Usually it made people who outclassed him in raw power less likely to attempt to obliterate him. |

When he spoke she turned back to the ice resting against it lightly and watching him move closer though the mist. Her elven eyes could show her more then any mortals could. "Engage away," she replied slightly mischievous. Her cold expression and stance was only made lovely by her body and features. If she had not been a beautiful woman she would have been greatly hated. Even standing at a distance one could feel the chill radiating off of her body like a winter storm. It was cold but sent a spine tingling sensation down your body, a rather pleasant one. It was nothing more then a lie compared to her truly warm flesh, a ploy to make you think she really was cold inside and out. True her heart was ice...but ice was not as horrible as people had come to believe. Getting a good look at him she didn't move forward, she didn't trust this one. He was thinking he was sneaky but she had been around and she knew men well enough, she made it her business to deal with them and their lies. She looked over his body to see what sort of weapons he might be carrying, nothing her magic could not handle. Especially with Sylvian as a guide in her mind she could not be outsmarted. Even if Anna herself was only twenty the witch was centuries old and knew her own way around men as well. Her voice whispered in Anna's head, 'Keep a look out for this one, I can feel anger on him. You can't afford to be wounded now. We have much work to do. However he is strong, we could use him for our cause and I think you know how to persuade a man my dear girl.' Annalesia stepped closer to him on her guard knowing he would be the sort who would stab her. He seemed rather unstable, good the unstable men were easier to control. Some would think her unstable but the fact of the matter was she was perhaps one of the most sane women in all of Avalon. "Ah flattery, I don't fall for flattery. Never believed in it. It was used to often on me when I was young and by men I would rather not have touch me. Thank you all the same however, that was rather sweet. If I had been a stupid or weak woman I would have fallen for it." Putting a hand on his face she ran her fingers across his chin lightly and looked into his eyes remaining wear as to where his hands were for more then one reason. She didn't want him pulling a dagger on her because she knew all men carried a dagger. "Hmm...perhaps I have an offer for you, would you be interested in listening." She kept her body some distance from him to prevent any injury to herself. 'No man ever listened unless you peak his interest first, even you should know this...your not doing your best. Put your fear of death aside...he couldn't hurt you even if he wanted to. He is raw material now but under our watchful eyes he could become a grate tool to us.' Anna turned her head to the side for a moment as if she was going to talk to someone behind her and then moved closer to him yet, her body nearly up against his. If she brushed up against him she could potentially have him under her control...but she knew he was not like that. It was always harder to get the crazy ones to listen. |

Andumi stood, stone-faced, in front of the woman's advances. She was dangerous, but her behavior was...slow, somehow. As if she was receiving orders from someone else. Time to do some in-depth examination... Andumi breathed a long, slow breath, unintentionally showing off his massive size, yet slender build. He was muscular, but the muscles were exponentially more dense than most beings living in Avalon; another trait of his My'thyrian ancestry manifest. He blinked, only once, to allow his vision's spectrum to widen. Usually, he didn't use this much; it wasn't really necessary to see the obvious magic at work throughout this land, and it was everywhere. It gave him a headache, staring at the energy flows like that for so long. His pupils dilated, as did his irises, growing to an immense size within his eyes as he saw the full range of his vision in Avalon. There was much magic about the girl; natural, as she was a mage, but there was a distinctly unnatural weave centered on her mind. The complexity was akin to a mage's use of the Copy spell, if they had given it an intelligence comparable to the caster's. Most unusual, but not something he hadn't seen, or heard of, before. How quaint...it seems she has an advisor inside her mind...of course. That would explain the unusual personality of this woman...I can see the webs of magic running off of her like a waterfall... Andumi's eyes saw much, and his ancient mind knew many things. The fact that this body was so...immature didn't help him to focus, though; that, he had to do on his own. Still, he was glad that this woman didn't know much about telepathy; he preferred his mind, and his immense knowledge, to be kept between himself, and Senriyu. "An...offer, you say? Would it be one of cooperation, or servitude? You seem like a capable leader, but...that second presence in your head troubles me, mage. What exactly are you hiding in there, if I may ask? There's no need to ask me how I know; I can see magic much like you would see the aurora in your northlands. And you have far too much for your small age. But this is a good thing, so don't feel threatened. I am most certainly amenable to whatever offer you have to put forward, provided it piques my interest..." Andumi remarked casually, though still letting his face almost droop with boredom. The disparity between the powerful, confident speech and the tired, inscrutable face was almost comic, but it just served to be more terrifying than anything else... |

Anna smiled as he spoke of her advisor inside her mind. Shrugging a little she replied with her devilish grin, "Advisor, if you could call a master of the slave the advisor. I consider her more the puppeteer and I the puppet. I am the toy in which evil plays. However none the less, I am not one to easily give up. I invited my 'advisor' in to help me accomplish my goals as I know she can." Stepping back to the trees covered in clear ice she cringed at the sight of water running down the side as the ice began to melt away in the humidity of the marsh. She ran her fingers across the surface listening to the drops fall to the ground with such a sorrow filled sound. "That is the problem with the world, nothing beautiful lasts forever. Enjoy it while you can." Turning back to Andumi she smiled, "What is my offer, how about power and domination. Mine is a journey to control this tiny little world in which we inhabit. To breed a better, stronger Avalon and take what should rightfully be ours." Running her wet fingers through her hair she turned to watch him for a moment knowing he was watching her and judging her. Deciding on how much power she had and if she was important enough to listen to. Anna didn't care much for what others realty thought of her, she knew she was beautiful and smart. A true classic woman who was virtually unstoppable one she set her mind to something. That dark wicked smile of hers crossed her face again as she moved towards him once more bowing lightly, "By the way, I am Annaleasia DuMount. However you can call me Anna if you wish, some call me The Black Rose as well, it all depends on your preference. Miss DuMount would work just as well however Miss would not be the entire truth, and your name would be?" She asked with the slightest tilt of her head causing her ebony locks to fall from her shoulder and hang perfect straight behind her back. Her emerald eyes remained fixed on his features memorizing him in the back of her mind so she would never forget the face of her allies...or enemy. |

Andumi's eyes narrowed with distrust, and his eyebrows contracted as he considered her offer. Sure, their goals were the same, but...the fact that she was so candidly admitting that she was a mere pawn rankled Andumi slightly. He didn't want to be just some sort of middle-manager of evil. He wanted the C.E.O. spot, the Chief Evil Overlord, for himself. But this woman had skill, and Andumi respected that...for now. But soon, he would use this woman to gain allies far more powerful than her. The Lord of Flame, Sujin, appeared to dislike mages and others of that sort....perhaps a visit to Preah might be in order sometime soon....but he discarded that thought for now. He didn't think Sujin would be a willing tool; he was too headstrong and passionate, a battle-monger if ever Andumi had heard of one. No matter. He nodded in response to her bow, letting his melodious and mellifluous voice echo once more around the wastelands of their immediate area, though it wasn't any fault of his own that he projected so well. "Power and domination. Curious. It seems we are after the same goals. Very well then. Madam Annaleasia DuMount, I, Andumi syr Reignas, shall join your cause for Avalonian conquest," Andumi said formally, yet aloofly, as he evaluated his new partner in detail. It would be a while before he could gather enough strength to kill this woman outright. And until then - and this was a thought that Andumi did not like having - he would have to keep Annaleasia very, very, far away from Senriyu. He shivered ever so slightly as he thought of the deathly yet irrational rage she went in to when he mentioned other women. It wasn't like she'd expressed any interest in him apart from camaraderie, but she was still so irrationally destructive..... |

Anna smiled as he agreed to join her in her little...project fro power. She could use him now, she needed someone to help her pull everything together and she certainly was unable to be alone. For now she would put up with whatever he had to offer, but afterwards when he lost all use to her she might just dispose of him like everything else she found useless in this world. "Well then Sir Andumi, welcome aboard my little idea. A pleasure to meet you." Picking up the skirt of her dress she started moving forward and spoke again, "If you will please follow me. I would like to get out of this hell hole as soon as possible. It is quite unbearable." Besides the bodies were starting to thaw and were beginning to stink. She could kill a creature and not feel remorse but she could not stand the carnage that she left behind. It was rather unsettling to her. Perhaps the remains of her once warm heart...or just her being the noble woman she was raised to be, spoiled, self centered, and disgusted by filth. She stepped over a body picking her skirt up even higher to avoid getting any mud of blood on it for that matter. Glancing back at the gentleman she asked curious of what had brought him here, "So what made your feet carry you into the Red Marsh then, and what brought you to come find me? I do not believe I am the most interesting thing in this marsh, then again I am also not a man and do not see to see the world as you do." Aside from a cold heart and dark outlook on the world and the need for power she was quite a pleasant woman to be around. She always seemed to be listening to you or giving a damn what you had to say and gave her insight on every conversation even if she only did it out of habit rather then the genuine care for humanity or any other race at that matter. She pulled her long black hair over her right shoulder and came to an area where the water circled around them for quite a distance. Rather then have to walk miles to find a dry patch to cross she bent down keeping her dress out of the mud and placed her finger on the surface of the water. Within a minute the water froze over snapping and cracking as it turned to solid ice. Standing back up she gazed down at the reflective surface and took up her skirt once again stepping onto the ice. "Watch your step dear or you might slip and fall." Not that she could care less if he fell or not, it was just her nature to not give a damn about others. "Don't move slowly either, I have tea on the stove and I have no time for those who waste time." Her tone became a little more snappy as she spoke the finally line taking her out of that almost warm gentle tone she had kept before. |

Andumi followed his new ally without comment. Well, he tried. As he watched her exhibit her powers seemingly without care, he seethed inwardly at the karmic joke that had robbed him of his own formidable power. If he could regain them, and soon, the little stripling of a human and her spirit master would scream in agony as he taught them the meaning of proper respect for your elders. "What brought me here, Miss Annaleasia, were the tales of the lizard-men being stalked by a nameless foe, a terror that haunted the Marshes and froze everything in sight. Obviously, it was you. Believing it to be only a rogue ice elemental sent by a particularly vengeful Guardian, I merely came to investigate and see if I could harness such power for myself. Perhaps I wasn't completely successful, seeing as I was outmatched apparently from the start." Andumi said, frowning slightly at Anna's reverse sexism. He really didn't understand humans, though he was modeled in their appearance and was taught their affectations. "Well, as much fun as slipping and falling does sound, I would care for some tea. I don't suppose you've managed to get a hold of any of the better varieties around here? I'm afraid I haven't had the time myself to look for any of the rarer blends at market with all of the travel I've been doing." Andumi responded as he almost jogged across the frozen water with no apparent effort. As he caught up with Anna, he spun around expertly and slid backwards at the same pace as her forward advance, so as to talk to her face to face. "Though I know we've known each other for a very short time, I must give you a piece of advice. Don't underestimate anyone you meet. Ever. Friend or foe. Another thing. Trading insults is only good when you're in combat. Finally, learn to respect those who don't appear human, even, and especially, if you wish them dead. They may be much, much older than you, and harbor powers that would strip the flesh from your bones with a thought. Don't forget that, as I won't take kindly to such comments again in the future." Andumi's tone was dark and serious, his eyes swirling with the golden veins of power as his latent bloodline was stirred up at the thought of being called 'old'. Of course, he was most assuredly ancient by any mortal creature's standards, but his body, whether intentionally or by happenstance, did not reflect the over a sixteen millennium of knowledge stored within. The air around him darkened slightly, though it wasn't through any affect of magic. It was his aura of command showing, the full brunt of the power and lineage that Andumi commanded as the final, brilliant brainchild of a doomed and ancient race. He was going to make sure this...human understood exactly what she was dealing with, and to act accordingly.... |

"Oh calm down I am not that interesting. Any child could freeze over a swamp, I don't see why it should attract any attention." She replied with a half bitter half soothing tone. Anna was like a rose with one to many thorns. Even it was painful to touch it didn't make it any less beautiful. She had her ups and down, here venom and cure, here love and hate. You just had to learn to ignore her anger and accept her laughter when it came to you. She was a creature who changed over in a matter of minutes. Anna smiled a little and shook her head, "I only ever get the rarest tea's, they taste the best and are more appealing to me. You need not worry about that much. Avalon does not have anything grand to offer when it comes to tea. I get all mine at the spice markets." Her tone became soft ad velvet and smooth as silk once again as she spoke almost with a slight seductive tone. As he slid forward looking her face to face she listened for a moment about his little respect speech, one that she had listened to many times before. That was how the natural world worked then was it? No...it was much different then that, a lioness did not lay down for her king simply because of his title. He had to fight and kill to gain her respect and Anna was very much the same way. Besides the spirit inhabiting her was very much in the scales of old age...centuries of knowledge and she did not take kindly to being talked down to. "Ah, I appreciate your speech though it be one I have listened to many time and unfortunately brushed off just as many times. I never underestimate, I only harass because it is my job to make the best of people. I am different then most women, I do not bow down to titles or show respect to them until they gain respect. I had been a countess once therefore there were few men I lowered my head to. I never served kings nor gods because it was worthless when kings died and gods failed. There were even few kings I ever came to respect. I seldom lowered my stance to them thought I struggled to stay out of their chambers. All the same I would have sold my own soul to keep away from my own. Also Andumi...never think I am less then what I truly am, I am no human to begin with. I may look it but I am not. Humans are worthless in the ways of magic, and never underestimate the power of a woman’s scorn." |

Andumi smiled slightly, a infinitesimal crook of the lines of his mouth, at the thought of being able to relax over a cup of tea, even if they probably weren't as good as the leaves brewed under the suns of his own world. Andumi nodded, his face passive and open, as he reached the end of the pond and did an elegant backflip with a 180 twist to ensure his landing was smooth and continued walking forward at a leisurely pace, almost drifting through the air as if he didn't truly belong in it. Which was actually correct, but didn't amount to much, as he couldn't return to his homeland yet. "Hmph. Feminism. Female emancipation was probably the worst thing to happen to my land. It seems you're cut of the same cloth as the women of my...country." Andumi skirted around his origins lightly as he gave Anna a backhanded compliment. When Anna had ended her speech, he merely commented, "Not human, hrm? Must be a hybrid, then. How quaint. A friend of mine is a half-breed between my own species and that of the humans... It saddens me to think that she will never be able to attain the power of her full bloodline, and must make do with her own weakened state compared to my own." he said the word 'human' with evident dislike, though also a touch of sadness, though Anna probably wouldn't be able to pick up on it. "Worthless in magic, you say? True, they lack power, skill, and control of it, but you are underestimating them already; humankind is a new species, on this or any world, and much like a child, they will stumble and fall several times before they learn to master something. And that is what you need to be wary of. They breed like rats, rapidly and without pause for the ramifications; they attain strength and power rapidly as well, surpassing their limits time and time again in order to survive; not to mention the fact that they can assimilate any culture, any form of magic, anything at all. They are an invasive and persistent sickness," he lectured sagely, "Though, I must admit, I do agree with your thoughts on fealty. Especially to the 'gods'. After all, anything that can take physical form becomes hindered by the limitations of that form. Gods especially. They lack omniscience, omnipotence.....everything that makes a god truly godlike. They are nothing more than ascended forms of the lesser races, and I intend on eliminating those particular residents of Avalon with extreme prejudice...." Andumi's words were filled with venom, not really directed at Annaleasia by now, but still irrationally angry. Then he cooled down suddenly, as he always did. "I understand this may be a bit rude, but....how old, exactly, are you? After all, if we wish to establish who's going to be the leader here, it might as well be the eldest of us. Of course, I'll only reveal my age if you tell me yours..." Andumi said, changing the topic suddenly, as he was often wont to, and more than a little childishly. He didn't know why exactly his moods shifted so quickly, but he could only assume it was because of the fact that his form was that of the basic human model, and they were notoriously scatterbrained.... |

Annalesia gave a small smile as he mentioned feminism, he had hit the nail on the head even if she had not always been that way. There was once a time she did think women were the inferior sex, her husband had made it so. However after she had escaped her uncle and chased him from the shores of Avalon it was then she realized women were the more effective sex. "Well of course, then again if you had lived my life you would think men were nothing more then mindless animals as well. They have trouble evolving and yet women move forward at a faster pace, growing, changing, even maturing faster then they do. Women are stupid when they are young and will have children. However after a certain age they realize how pointless life is and stop bending to the masters will to bare another son. They know the life they bring is nothing more then another worthless creature. However men are so stupid they never learn this secret and can continue producing new lives till the day they die. I learned faster then all the others and decided at a young age never to produce this worthless life. They say passing on your legacy, I say passing on this worthless world." Her elegant and yet hateful speech was quite the eye opener to the human species and their disgusting need to reproduce on a daily basis. Elves were above that. Elves rarely ever had children. When you could live as long as they did and she would you had no need to create new members of your species. It would overpopulate your population and they didn't like that much. "In fact it was that very thing that made me give up my title of countess and run far from the place I was born. I was asked to produce an heir and being that this child would be bred with my cousins seed I opted to refuse. What was worse was that my uncle also pushed me from the land of my father with his unhealthy obsession for me. Perhaps it is due tot he fact that I look like my mother and he was deeply in love with my mother." Anna had to admit she was disgusted with the fact that she had to lay with her cousin so many times and have him for her husband. She continued walking on with all the grace and elegance of an elf as well as their stamina raising her above humans. She was faster and stronger then a human female, smarter as well and a lot quicker with her words. She had all the traits of an elf hidden behind the form of a human. Anna saw herself as nothing more then one hell of a surprise and very hard to predict. "Besides...why destroy myself for the sake of another. I am far to selfish to honestly care and I am far to proud to let my blood get watered down." When he asked for her age she passed him up picking up her speed a little to a slightly faster walk. Her age, why did it honestly matter what her age was? She had inherited the knowledge of her people, as far as her age concerned her mind was at least a millennia or more and her body still young. "I am twenty one if you must know, I have spent a whole year within Avalon changing from the sweet little girl I once was to a strong confident woman. However the spirit inside me and my dearest teacher is at the very least sixteen thousand years of age." |

Andumi gave a grim smile of approval at Anna's answer. "Did you say....sixteen thousand years? How....very coincidental... I myself have just recently celebrated (if it could be called that) my sixteen thousandth, four hundred and eighteenth birthday. Of course, that is by the calendar system of my homeland, so I am probably even older than that by Avalonian standards." Andumi said, just a little bitterly. He had been so arrogant in his belief that he was one of the most ancient, and therefore powerful, beings in Avalon, that he hadn't considered the little loophole presented by that oh-so-aggravating race of Shades, mortals consumed and bonded with ancient immortal spirits of the dead. He frowned, if ever so slightly, at his companion's mention of incest within her family. "Hrmph. Your family sounds like a bunch of weak-minded fools. Tell me, why haven't you bothered to merely go forward with your magical prowess and slay them all? My species did such a thing before I was born. Of course, it drove us nearly to extinction, but that's besides the point; it was fueled by that most ancient of deadly games, politics." He gave a cruel laugh as he remembered the images he had been shown of the furious self-genocide of his people, now virtually all dead to him, as he was separated from any possible survivors by the gap that was the entire universe of Avalon. "If there's one thing we can both agree on, my dear Annaleasia, it's pride in our bloodlines. You seem to be merely half-elven, yet you obsess over the Elven culture; I can only assume you now identify with them more than the race of humans, given your passionate speeches so far advocating their eradication.." his words were tinted with humor, as if it were a shared joke between them. Only, to Andumi, even the Elves, ancient and wise, were simple-minded hedonists who didn't understand the glories that a truly long life gave. They didn't advance themselves; they stagnated, content with the slow oblivion of only a few millennium. Andumi's own people had done much; the most common cause of death was overwork from exhaustion, and they could work for months on end without pause for even the slightest breaks for food, drink, or even sleep. Andumi's lifestyle was much more luxurious compared to his ancestor's, however, as he was not a member of a race of hereditary servants, but instead a leader, a champion, and freed from a potential life of slavery by the selfsame war that, in addition to eliminating most of his people, also destroyed their masters, beings known simply as the Chosen. |

Annalesia showed her more kind and gentle side as she turned her head to him with a small smile and replied, "Well happy belated birthday. Birthdays are not often celebrated by elves, they live too long to care, only when they are children. However human celebrate them every year until the day they die since the live such short lives. My mother before she died was over four hundred years old...and she was very young still. I never understood what cause her to love a mortal, I never did understand love." Her words were soft at first and slowly had become rather cold and stiff just as the ice that seemed to run through her body. She listened again as he asked why she did not kill all her family off in revenge. She would if she had the opportunity, she would kill her uncle at least. No she had faced him off once before and defeated him yet she had spared him and let him return home in shame. She didn't kill them because there was no reason to kill them. She knew the punishment of seeing them age would be far worse then any death she could give them. Her cousins children would be cursed and born in the blood of her parents which their grandfather had killed, hell his own wife was cursed already, she would never have a son and Anna made sure of this. "I have no need to step on worms, there not worth the trouble. I taught them their lesson, now they will pay throughout their entire life rather then be freed by death from the hell I created for them. Why kill when you can make them suffer till the end of days?" One thing was true, Anna was not simple when it came to her plots of revenge and hate. She was clever in making sure they got what they deserve and she was quick to deliver swift punishment. Brushing her hair with her fingers she listened again to his words. She shook her head lightly and smiled a wicked smile, "No...not at all, I don't associate myself with any kinsman of any species. I identify with nothing really. How can I, once I identified with humans casting aside my elven heritage but ever since this old soul has taken me as its student, ever since we became a single mind I have been forced away from all things. In my own words I am nothing, I have no species, no kinsmen, and certainly no family or lovers. I am utterly alone and I would never change it. All I need for company is tomorrow...my tomorrow." It was hard to not get a little chill from the way she spoke, she didn't care who lived or died in this world, even if she lived or died. It was all pointless this world and life but she would make it something with point. You almost had to admire his unatachment to the physical world and solitude and willpower. There was a dark beauty about her and a corrupt charm that seemed to only belong to those darker creatures of Avalon and yet she still had an beautiful and innocent glow about her like a two faced devil. She giggled a little and looked up to him with her beautiful emerald green gaze, her expression soft yet her eyes had a flicker of destruction in them like a roaring fire. "ha, and you could say the devil has taken my soul. I am nothing more then a puppet with a pretty face and grand idea's, nothing more then a doll playing the role of a common whore. Not even I can fathom the power she has...and yet I am content being her slave in a strange way. Just as she is my slave, neither of us is free...but tell me Andumi, are you free?" |
