More than carbon and chemicals.
It had taken them the better part of the day to reach this town. What had just been a speck on the horizon nearly two days before had opened up into the spitting image of a familiar place. Koralle had lived in Avalon City for quite some time, since before it had been renamed Trevena. And she was shocked at how identical this city looked to the capital. She was however, uncertain. Maybe it was just her imagination. After all, they were in the west, and Avalon City was in the north. So they couldn't have possibly trekked all the way around the country in just a few short days!

As they arrived through the city gates, the local guard would give the trio a passing glance. But they didn't seem to care about the presence of just another group of travelers. Much of the city was the same as the one she knew, from its shops to its fountain, the ins and taverns. However, something seemed... off. This wasn't home, regardless of the similarities. Having grown lost in thought, she shook her head before glancing back to the other two. "Well. Should we stay the night here or resupply and move on?"

The moment they had entered the town, Reiku felt a slight pang of pain on his chest. He tried not to make it obvious and placed his hand on his chest and took a deep breath. Something was wrong and eerie. The placed seemed like Trevena. It was ridiculously identical and he wondered if they were back in the lands. He clutched his chest as he gazed around. Strange. No guild. No scouts. No members. He would usually have lookouts but...there aren't any of them in this area. It made him wonder what this place was that was so similar to Trevena...yet so different.

"We should...resupply and take leave. I don't...feel well in this place," He finally admitted and clutched his chest tighter. It was so damn frustrating that he was suddenly becoming ill for no reason. Ever since they left that cave, he started to feel like he's dying...or the world wants to kill him.

She was not sure if she was glad or concerned for the fact that she was not the only one who felt it. If it had been just her, she could pass it off for nerves. But it seemed there really was something odd in this town. It was not that the people themselves were shady or superstitious. Rather she could not shake off the strange feeling of deja vu.

Looking back to the man with the blindfold, an edge of concern seemed to overtake her voice. "No. You should rest. I'm sure the city is safe and I know my way around. Kaono and I can split up and resupply, if he knows his way." Ever since they had gotten here the man had been acting strange. Even though she didn't know him very well, she wouldn't want anyone she considered an ally to be in danger of harm.

))Yeah, no post order. xD Just keep it moving. (: Eventually gonna use the city as a place where new participants may join the plot at this point.((

Kaono followed closely with his two companions, keeping a close eye on his surroundings as well as the sickly one that traveled with him. His rhythm was off, shaky and hollow... it only slightly worried him and at the same time it did not. The youth was use to feeling off, odd and different... everything was strange compared to where and how he was raised. Worse still did this city put him off, as if someone or something was speaking backwards, playing a song in reverse... as if death was its beginning instead of life.

But to resupply and leave would be the best option, he didn't like the sound he felt from here... it interrupted his own beat. For the first time since he has met Koralle and Reiku, Kaono broke composure and actually expressed his worry. “I do not like this place. I've felt an odd rhythm since we entered the cave... its worse here. And only growing stronger.” Silver eyes scanned the area intently, that still silence that normally surrounds him vanished, his presence became known... and it leaked bloodlust.

Bah. Koralle had just asked him to take the rest. As much as he hated it, he needed it. He also needed to find out what was wrong with him. Suddenly, he started to feel sickly and weakened. Something he had not experienced before. It began when they left that cave and it was getting worse. Indeed, Kaono was right. There was a strange...something in this area that was messing things up. Messing him up greatly.

"Fine...I'll find the inn. Where do we regroup?" Reiku asked. If this was the copy of Trevena, the famous Horseshoe Tavern and Inn would be around here somewhere. And they can easily regroup if needed. Reiku had a strange feeling that he is not supposed to be here. That he should not...exist here. He heard some voices inside his head, aside from those split persona, that were telling him to simply disappear. Simply be wiped out of existence.

Though she was not used to taking command, it seemed necessary at this point. Well, maybe it was as it should be. This was all her idea after all, they had decided to follow for whatever reason. Of course she appreciated their help no matter how easy it was for them. Koralle was certain she would not have even made it this far on her own.

"You just stay at the inn, then." If he was already there, then there was no point in him wandering the city and them being forced to find another meeting location. She felt ill at ease in this city despite the familiarity though. "And I know..." Her reply towards Kaono's comment was edged with concern that she tried to hide.

With a sigh she glanced around the town, a hand subconsciously dropping to her pocket and counting coins. Visibly shaking herself from a reverie, she gestured towards the market. "I'll resupply our food. Kaono can get the travel gear we need. We'll meet back at the inn with you Reiku, once we are finished."

As much as he hated it, he had no choice. He had made his way to a very familiar inn and rented a room. As soon as he reached the room, he plopped down on the bed. He felt tired and sleepy. He sighed as he rolled a bit and faced the ceiling. No choice but to wait for them there.

Outside, however, there was another person that looked exactly like him. Except this person had no weapons, no blindfold and his eyes were normal blue. This person was simply buying some stuff and some food, unaware that somewhere nearby, he had someone that looked exactly like him. Of course, it would be strange if Koralle were to see him. Then again, something was off in this place. Another world maybe. Another place that seemed much like Avalon. This person had already finished buying his things and was already off to get back home.

In a few moment's the three had separated. Koralle and the hound headed towards the market to stock up on food and other rations. As she made her way through the streets, she could not help that she felt as if she did not belong here. It was as if something was trying to tell her that this was not home, that she should turn back now. Even if it had not been for the cave in however, she wouldn't turn back. Despite the heavy feeling in the pit of her stomach, she was determined to see this through. To whatever end this world may hold, if she could find some truth behind what she'd been told.... if only she could discover a way to save her own homeland, she'd keep fighting or it.

Luckily, this city took the same currency, even if the rate was different. As a matter of fact, most of the goods were cheaper. As she purchased the last of the supplies to keep the three of them, plus some extra, fed while on the road, she headed back towards the inn. In passing she noticed a familiar figure, well something was different. "Reiku? What are you doing out here?" She called in her approach, motioning back towards the inn. But she halted just beside him, why would he remove the bandages from his eyes now?

The young boy was confused when he turned towards the voice that seemed to call him. He turned for he was curious. He glanced around and saw no one in sight and then pointed to himself. His eyes were blue and not silver. But of course, no one would know that unless they saw Reiku's eyes. He also lacked the weaponry and the long scarf. But it was disturbingly identical to Reiku.

"Me?" He asked the woman. He didn't even know her? He stepped back a bit, feeling threatened. Thieves and bandits were common and he didn't want to take any chances. He'd rather hurry up and go to his father. But of course, he wasn't a rude person. He was a kind boy and he stayed out of politeness. "Is there anything I can help you with, miss?" He asked her, not quite sure if he should run or stay for a while.

She hesitated now that she was speaking to a person she thought she knew. "Um..." Koralle did not know what to think, this person looked so much like them an who had traveled through Husin with her and he seemed not to recognize her. Vaguely she wondered if behind the blindfold, this man had the same eyes as Reiku. She shook the though away. How silly at a time like this.

"S-sorry. I thought you were someone else. You look like a ..." Now what was the word to use? "Friend of mine." It was technically not true since they didn't know each other well enough to call 'friends'. Allies however just seemed out of place in a market area.

Noticing how ill at ease she put him, she adjusted the load of travel supplies she was carnying. After all she had gathered enough for three people, it wasn't easy carting all this stuff around. Then Koralle took a step back to give the man space. "Never mind. Sorry."

"Um...have we met before?" The Reiku 'clone' tilted his head and gazed at the woman in front of him. She seemed so familiar that it was scary. He bit his lip and waited for an answer. He was confused upon seeing this woman suddenly when not so long ago was...well, something happened.

In the meantime, the other Reiku was laying flat on the bed, trying to recuperate but he felt worse. He felt himself getting weaker and weaker by the minute. He wanted to know what was causing this and what kind of place this is. He had so many questions but he couldn't even muster the strength to stand for now. He hoped to be well enough to carry himself, though. He didn't want to be dead weight in the traveling group. He did not want to be carried around and not be able to do anything else but leech off their supply which they can save up more if he were not there.

Kaono had visited many shops, taking his time to gather the best gear for a wide range of purposes. Drifting from shop to shop, searching for the best gear at the best prices he finally... after a few hours of roaming found exactly what they needed. Tough leather sacks, rope meant for climbing and other purposes. Flint, tinder, and a few disposable knives that would be used for a number of purposes, bandages and a multitude of herbs. After gathering what he needed, and packing it all into one of the leather sacks he gained he headed for the meeting point back near the inn where Koralle and Reiku waited.

However, what the young wolf saw when he got there confused even this one's cool head. Two Reikus?!

Stepping back, Koralle had expected the matter to be left alone. She was not anyone particularly striking and could easily be cast of as just any other passerby in the market. But when the boy continued to stare at her and speak, she halted in her 'flight'. "N-not that I am aware of. I just made a mistake."

Footsteps at her back caused her to turn, as she noted it being the berserker, Kaono. At least he was an actually familiar face that she did no. He seemed confused too however but she didn't exactly have an explanation. The hound at her heels gave an annoyed sort of growl. "Sorry for interrupting you I have to go."

Giving this hurried reply, she backed away. The hound side stepped, even surprised by the speed in which she turned around. This wasn't the time for ... weird .... meetings with people's ... twins? Ah she did not know what was going on but did not quite feel up to the task of handling it. She didn't stop until she had reached the Dian's side, nodding to him briefly. "Err... let's go."

The Reiku that Koralle encountered was about to speak up. But he felt a bit appalled that she was right there in front of him. He decided to no longer pursue the matter and turned around to leave. Perhaps it was best that he did not cause any more chaos than there already seemed to be present as off the moment.

Reiku, on the other hand, was struggling to stand up. He managed to get up but he had to use his sheathed blade as a cane so he would not fall flat on the ground. He tried to fix himself up so he wouldn't look that weakened and headed out into the inn. He found a nearby bench and sat down on it. It was just right beside the entrance. Surely, the two would not miss him even if he were sleeping on the bench. He may do just that as he was already doing....of...

Shaking her head at any questions the Dian may throw her, Koralle made a point to exit the market place as quickly as possible. Though she had met many times of confusion in her life, this one was right at the top of the list. Just what was going on in this town anyways? That thought too caused her to worry slightly at the condition of their other companion.

The two made it to the inn a short time later, with the hound still slinking through the shadows. Even the hellhound knew something was awry about this place. And because of his appearance, the hound would keep out of sight to avoid causing trouble for his two legged companions. Arriving in front of the inn, Koralle halted, slightly startled to see a Reiku napping there on a bench. Another doppelgänger?

Shifting the load of travel supplies, she'd give the lounging thief a testing prod in the shoulder. "Reiku?" As she waited for him to awake, her thoughts rushed by in a flurry. Please be the real Reiku this time I don't think I can handle any more weirdness for today.
