Ai stood in the mountainy area. She sighed and walked into a cave to get away from the harsh cold wind. She loved the wind but knew how cold it was so she chose to hide away from it so she would be able to keep warmer and servive. 'Why did I come up here. It was a very stupid chose...' She shook her head and looked at her animals. "Rikka. Could you please go out and scout the area near the cave." She asked her snow colored wolf. The female wolf stood up and ran out the cave before dissapearing into the snow.

Jenna was a piedmont girl by nature; farming, cows, agriculture. The mountains didn't really suit her, but she had wanted an adventure. "What better than camping?" She had thought to herself. "I've never been anywhere cold before, so why don't I try that?" Now, she had to laugh at her optimism. She'd been out here three days, and so far, she'd only managed to be cold, colder, and coldest.

"Still, it's not as though I'm hurting anyone, and I should be having a good time. I mean, the silence is kind of peaceful," ever the sunny farmgirl, Jenna trudged through the snow. In truth, she missed the birds and the sound of rushing water; all the good, foresty things that she was accustomed to.

"Is anyone there?" She called, hearing the noise of a gentle sound in the snow. "I'm unarmed, I don't mean any harm." Her eyes could just barely spot a wolf, pacing through the snow. Barely, because the wolf was white. "Maybe there is somewhere I can stay nearby and get out of the cold! I wonder if he's smart enough to understand me?"

Rikka's eyes picked out a lone person as she listened to the human girls words. She thought on whether to help the human or not, then thought on how her master would feel to anything she picked. Rikka chose to help the human girl and she ran up to her slowing her run into a form of trot before walking normal. Her tail down and as she slowed her whole body language showed she was not going to harm the human. Ai back at the cave was not worried about her wolf because the wolf's fur was thick and made for snowy areas.

Jenna hesitated.

She wasn't exactly the type to follow animals around. She'd heard rumors of animals who were smart enough to understand humans, even speak to them, but she didn't put any stock in that. She'd lived on a farm all her life, and thought that if one day one of her cows had thought there was something to say, that day would have already come and gone. "Well, it's cold, and I'm alone. Here goes nothing."

Wading her way through the snow, Jenna was ready to turn and run at any moment, still not willing to trust the unknown wolf. "I thought wolves were supposed to be vicious when confronted with new people and situations. You might be the exception to the rule," she said idly, more to herself. The wind drowned out her words anyway.

She wasn't sure how long she was going to follow this wolf, though obviously the canine knew where she was going. "I don't know. I guess I'll follow you until you give me a hint that at some point, there is going to be somewhere safe nearby."

Rikka started to walk ignoring the human females words. She then wondered if the human could see her clearly in this snow. Shaking the thought off she continued to walk the wind and cold having no affect on her at the moment. After a few moments Rikka looked back at the human checking to see if she was still there. She did not really mind helping the human mostly because she felt it was better for her master to know others who were not animals. Rikka and the rest of the pack did not see it healthy for her.

Seeing in the snow wasn't quite the problem - it was trying to track the wolf in the snow. "Yes, I would be trying to follow a white wolf lost in a snow drift," she told herself, frowning. The cold had turned her lips blue, and she was shivering slightly as she trundled along through the snow. "I thought this was the sort of situation only crazy people got into, I guess I was wrong." It seemed that everyone in Avalon was quite mad and she was just as insane as they were now. She'd hoped it wouldn't rub off on her.

"Where are we going? How much farther is it?" She didn't mean to complain but it was getting rather chilly. There was snow falling all around them, and she was starting to feel very sleepy. From what she knew of the snow, though, it was important to stay awake. It would be dangerous for her to go to sleep. She might never wake up.

"Sir wolf, I really think it'd be good if we got there soon. I don't think I can make it much longer. You might be nice and warm in your fur coat, but I'm not," she added, yelling her words into the wind.

Rikka made a turn and walked into a cave. She looked at the human again and then walked over to her master, Ai. "Ah Rikka there you are. Did the scouting go wel-" Ai seemed to just notice the girl and smiled kindly at her. "Come in out of the snow before you freeze yourself." The cave was filled with animals, but there was plenty of room in it. The entrance was small enough for a person to get into easily but it was not to large. Just large enough for a small dragon to get into. Five wolfs all of a diffrent kind, four big cats all diffrent as well, two small cats slightly diffrent, five diffrent kinds of birds, a rat, a squirrel, a rabbit, and a dragon. Those animals were all in the cave, with room enough. "It is a large enough cave, warmer then outside. It blocks out the snow and wins which cause most of the cold." Rikka walked over to the other wolfs and laid down.

Suddenly, the wolf disappeared! Thinking she was down on her luck, Jenna was torn between turning around and trying to go back, or giving the animal the benefit of the doubt. From what she knew on the farm, animals were pretty smart. They weren't geniuses, but they knew Nature a lot better than anyone else could claim to. Whenever there was some sort of natural disaster, it was prudent to notice that there were very few animals about.

"I can't believe I'm doing this," she murmured to herself, before trudging the last ten feet to where the wolf had disappeared. But, what else did Jenna have to lose? She already was practically freezing to death. It didn't get much worse.

Her faith was rewarded in that there was a cave waiting for her, and another girl who looked to be about the same age standing there. She told Jenna to follow her into the cave, and Jenna didn't waste any time. "Thanks," she spoke through chattering teeth and blue lips. "Your wolf led me here, but I didn't think there would actually be anyone else stuck in this storm."

Looking around, she almost wasn't surprised to see many more animals just sort of spread around the cave. It seemed like animals were welcome here and with this girl. "It's very cold out there. I don't know how long I was walking..."

"It is warm in here. With the amount of body heat coming from all the animals it makes sense right." Ai laughed and smiled at the girl. She walked over and sat in the center of the cave where there was a small fire. "The fire is also helpful in adding to the diffrence in here compaired to outside. What is your name by the way?" Ai looked at the girl with a tilt in her head. "My name is Ai." Turning her head away from the girl Ai poked the fire with a stick a few times.

That made sense. There definitely were a lot of animals crammed into a rather small space. She was glad that those years on the farm had taught her to be less skittish of nature's creatures, otherwise she might have been content to just sit outside and freeze to death. Instead she squeezed herself in next to the fire, between two wolves. "Yeah, it's rather cold out there, in case you didn't notice," she laughed, almost to herself than to her new companion. "My name's Jenna. I don't know how I got stuck up here, I was just planning to visit and see snow. It's nice to meet you Ai. Do you live up here?"

"No I am just passing threw with my animals." Ai smiled and laid back on the ground. "You are lucky Rikka found you. She is one of my more... Human friendly wolfs. Many of them would not go out of there way to help a human unless I asked them to." Ai sat back up quickly. "Though did you have trouble seeing her? You know in that deep snow she kind of blends in." She smiled and ran her hands down the back of the animal next to her, who happened to be the panther Karei.

Jenna snorted when Ai mentioned that "Rikka" just happened to be one of her more friendly wolves. She hadn't known that by nature wolves could be friendly. They weren't exactly mean animals, but they were still animals. Cruelty towards them was just as abysmal, but its hard to keep that in mind after a wolf devours your cattle. "Yeah, I guess I'm lucky, I probably would have died out there if she / he hadn't found me. She was kind of hard to see at first, but I learned to look at her feet, and the bottom of her paws to keep track of her." Wrapping her arms around her knees, she shrugged. "I'm just glad I'm here."

"Ah then that means you are a quick thinker. I am one as well. I plan as things go on. But then I sometimes plan ahead butplans change so much i see it to much of a hassle to think ahead to far so I just think of the hear and now type of things." ai's hand stilled resting on Karei's back between her shoulder blades. Ai looked at the roof of the cave and sighed slightly.

Jenna shrugged. She didn't really believe she was that much of a quick thinker, considering she'd almost gotten herself killed out in the snow. "Yeah I guess. Some things I really should plan ahead, like trips into the mountains, without proper gear and food and supplies," she added, sheepishly. It was quiet in the cave, but it felt uncomfortable. If she was going to wait out the storm here, she wanted to at least be welcome, though that wasn't a requirement.

"So, where are you from?"

Ai looked over at Jenna. "I come from my mom. Where do you come from." Ai joked, she enjoyed doing that in some time. She did not want things to be akwards in here if they would all be in here for awhile. Rikka, Kiaki, and Rosuto, the three who could blend into the snow, stood up and left the cave running off. "I think there going out to catch something for you to eat...." She got quiet for a moment then looked back over at Jenna smiling.
