She walked towards the west guided by the wind . Using the Moon as her only light, she went on with the staff strapped on her back. However, halfway through the way the wind began to shift direcions. It started to shift from east to West and North to South. It blew from different directions. There was a storm coming. As the thunder roared and the lightning rolled in the dark sky, the moon was hidden behind the angry clouds. The rain came darting down on her and the howling wind added to the creepy effect of the sudden change in weather. She ran as fast she could towards nowhere. Stumbling and cutting herself along the way. It seemed like she was running forever and that the rain wanted to drown her. She hadn't any idea what the staff she was given was for nor what her purpose was. All she knew was she need someone else , as she was told by Lady Elinor, who could show her the rest of Avalon. Just then as she ran in neverending darkness, lightning lit the sky up for a split second revealing what was ahead of her - The Enchanted Wood. The Woods were dark and spooky, but she didn't care. All she wanted was to stay out of the rain. So she allowed herself to curl up at the root of a huge tree. Her hair and clothes stuck to her. "Look at what you've done," she cursed the rain. "Now I have to put up with this until morning." At the roots of the tree in the darkness of the wood, she pulled her knees up to her chest. She buried her face on her knees and she began to hum a tune of the lullabies the Elves used to play to her. However, she couldn't accept the fact that in the woods she was no more thatn a sacred girl who had no idea who she really was and what she was meant to do. As the night drew on and the rain started to ease, the owls began to hoot in an eerie unison. Cleis was unprepared for an attack. She was only an Oracle-in-training.
