The Isle of Women was know for the mighty warriors but it was not known so much for the small village that rested within the heart of the island. A village where all the healers had gathered long ago during the plague to try and cure as many as they could. Since then the village had been closed off for the most part, only visited by people needing their assistance. Because the men of the village had mostly died off the village had become a matriarchal society where the boys were asked to leave after a certain age, because of this once they were men they were allowed one nights return to the village to take a wife. The men were never allowed to stay and were only able to see their wives but once a year. Today was that day the young men were meant to come and take a wife from the village, all the young girls were meant to be there...but not all were. Hiding away in the forest a girl no older then nineteen sat under a large tree picking tinny yellow flowers from the ground. She smiled up at the little birds singing overhead and listened to the sound of the gentle breeze. Dark curls fell over pale shoulders as hauntingly beautiful blue eyes investigated the world with an innocent curiosity. Her white dress rolled over the roots that had crawled their way out of the earth over many years. One by one she weaved the little yellow flowers together with a delicate touch forming a small crown. Magdalene Brim was her name, the daughter of the towns midwife Naome and the step child of Jasper. She had not attended the little gather mostly because she was to busy studying but also because she didn't want to get married. Even if she loved kids she didn't want her own right now. Despite being nineteen years old she was still living in a childhood she was not prepared to give up. Slowly she put her crown of flowers upon her head and looked up to the birds with a sweet smile, "What do you think Peter?" She asked a little blue bird, her voice sweet and made more enchanting by her beautiful accent. "hahah, I think I agree Peter, I do look like a fairy...then that means I should dance in circles as they do." She jumped up onto her feet putting her arms out to her sides and started twirling around making her skirt flutter out. Her curls twisted and fluttered as she twirled laughing as children laughed. The moment her little blue bird fried took wing she called up to him stretching her fingers to the sky, "Wait for me Peter, I want to fly away...I want to fly too. I want to fly like the angels do...oh where oh where are those white wings my father promised to me?" As the bird fluttered from sight her arms moved down mimicking the form of a woman dancing with a man. She twirled and twirled until she fell backwards into the green grass giggling to herself. Her eyes stared off into the sky, the trees that towered over her seemed to spin around her as if she was still moving. Arms laid over her head as her giggling continued. Rolling onto her belly she picked a handful of grass and looked before her to see a little grey rabbit munching on some greenery. Putting her hand out with the grass in it she made a kissing sound and spoke softly, "Come here little rabbit...don't worry I won't hurt you." The rabbit looked at her with wide eyes, its nose twitching. "You know...Celina said I still act like I am seven. I don't think I act that young...I think I am more like...like...a unicorn. Not immature, just...sweet. Come on little fellow I will not harm you, I don't hurt animals." The rabbit hopped a littel closer as she sprinkled some of the grass on the ground. It moved slowly stopping just out of her reach and started chewing the grass she had laid out. Softly her sweet voice rang out as she sang to the rabbit, "When winds blow above, And the trees start to shake, Up rise the forest alive and awake. When storm clouds roll in, And ran starts to fall, Then once little trees will soon become tall." Edited by Mag, May 28 2009, 06:44 AM.

Andumi had just recently disembarked off of the ferry that had transported him to the famed Isle of Women when he realized that he probably should have killed the crew and razed the ship after his business here was concluded. Of course, leaving survivors would have been unnecessary, but still... "Why is it that I have absolutely NO sense of direction in this blasted world?!" he asked himself angrily, smacking his palm to his forehead in self-annoyance. Yes, he had gotten himself lost. Again. On an island, of all things. That was embarrassing, even by his standards. Then he heard singing. A shiver passed up his spine as the melody, lost of its words, but none of its beauty, drifted through him. As if in a trance, Andumi strode through the forest blindly in search of the voice, while a voice of his own was warning him of an old tale, that of the sirens, in the back of his head. He told it to shut up, he was trying to listen. Suddenly he cleared a small hill to reveal a young woman lying on the ground, and actually not dead, or raped, for once. Observing her lack of weapons and magical equipment, he judged that it must be a civilian. For a happy few seconds, he thought back to all of the senseless slaughter he'd been party to over the last few years. Then he sobered up, remembering that he was off the stuff now. Right. No more senseless slaughter. Except for just now. That didn't count. Right. He considered approaching her directly. Then he looked at his swords. No, perhaps weapons would actually be a downside this time. Reluctantly, he removed his weapons and set them aside carefully. It would be the height of foolishness to just leave them lying around. Making sure to school his footsteps, he attempted to appear as harmless as possible. At least, he could be given points for attempting it. "Pardon me, maiden. I seem to be lost. Could you by any chance tell me where exactly it is I am?" he asked in friendly, polite tones. Just like he'd seen Senriyu do when meeting new friends. Of course, he'd always killed them later when she wasn't around, but she wasn't to know that.... |

Mag knew someone was coming before they even moved her way for the rabbit who had been lulled by her voice sprang up and darted away in a panic. It startled her making her sit up straight and run her fingers through the emerald grass as she asked, "What’s the matter my little friend?" Behind her a voice rang out, a strong deep voice, a sound she was not use to hearing, a mans voice. Jumping to her feet her beautiful blue eyes filled with fear as she moved to back into a tree. Her chest shuttered as she took shallow breathes looking upon the stranger. He was odd, he was not of this land, not of her home, no most certainly not of her home. She was related to the only men in the village and no one else on the island came to bother them. True travelers did come but it was not her job to deal with travelers, they were all dangerous...well not all of them but they could be. as he asked her the questions of where he was she stuttered, eyes stilled fixed on his face, "Your...on the Isles of Women...near...near the healers village." Hands slowly moved down the tree as she lowered them down to her sides to appear less alarmed. Swallowing her fear and panic she let her lip tremble as she spoke softly in her pretty little accent, "Do you need rest for the night sir? My village is just over there." Should she take him? Was it safe, could she trust a man? Batting her eyes lightly the innocent little angel continued to watch him with suspicion and fear as the wind tugged at her hair lightly. Above a little song bird went off into a frantic fast song chirping and crying down to the people bellow. Her little crown of flowers stood out against her dark curls as she gazed up to the little bluebird and called out, "Peter, you've come back." The little bird fluttered anxiously before taking off into the sky again and flying away. It left her baffled over what that had been all about. Once the bird was out of sight her eyes flashed back down upon the stranger. It would be polite to give a name but she was afraid to say her name, if he knew who she was he would always be able to find her. Mother had told her of magical spells used to locate people just by their names. Other spells to control people with the power of their names, all of it made her very weary of strangers and all of it kept her from giving her real name. Nick names were perfectly alright, especially if many other people called her by them. Bowing lightly she continued, "Sorry, pardon my manors stranger. I am Ruby, I can not take you to town until I know you are a good person are a bad man." |

Andumi relaxed and smiled as disarmingly as he could. Inside, however, he was seething. "The Isle of Women, eh? Interesting. Yes, I am afraid I do require lodgings for the night." he bowed elegantly and smiled all the while. His face was beginning to ache from all of this...happy...he was forcing. If he wasn't careful, he might just start doing this naturally. Then he happened to notice that the smoke from the burning ship (with matching corpses, of course) had become visible over the treetops. "It is most certainly a pleasure to meet you, friend Ruby. I assure you, I mean neither you nor your village any harm. I'm actually here on a mission, so to speak. A very dear friend of mine and I became separated some time ago. I'm currently searching the globe for her. I hope this isn't grounds to consider me a 'bad man'." he laughed lightly, a clear, rich, melodious sound. He'd never laughed before, not like that. A bluebird, intrigued by the noise, flitted down from a nearby tree and proceeded to land on his shoulder. Andumi's violent persona, the one hardened by years of abuse and loss, was screaming at him now to grab his weapons, kill or rape the girl, lay waste to the village, do something at the very least moderately evil. But he was beginning to let his good mood of a facade overtake him. I see what Senriyu meant, now, about enjoying peaceful activities such as this. he thought as he gently stroked the bird's head. His hand twitched as he wanted to rip its little head off, but he was ignoring that impulse with greater and greater ease. "I say, I'm feeling much better already. Better than I've felt in a long time, my dear friend Ruby. If just being near you is infecting me with this sort of a good mood, then you'll make a fine healer yourself, should you choose that path. Oh, dear. I've just remembered. I'm afraid I've not been entirely truthful with you. You see, I have my weapons just over there; I assure you, though, they are only for self-defense. If you don't mind, I'd like to see your village. Perhaps your elders could aid me in my search." he smiled remorsefully this time as he slowly retrieved his weapons, making sure that she saw he had no inclination of using them. It was a good thing he'd made the point of cleaning them assiduously before he'd set out; it might've ruined this entire operation in one resounding swoop. As he moved, the bird, jostled from its perch, flew away again, but only to land a short way away, observing the situation. Edited by Andumi, May 29 2009, 07:34 AM.

She didn't like the feeling she got from this man but then again she could not turn away someone who needed help. It was in her nature to be kind and helpful and no matter how evil a person was so long as the promised not to harm her village she would help them. If they did come to attack she didn't know what she would do, but she felt as if it was her job to watch over the people here and she would find a way to save everyone if she must. Looking up at him she spoke quietly, "Well then follow me." Her eyes never left him once except to see smoke in the distance. Her eyes water a little as the scent of something burning wafted her way on the calm breeze. She didn't know how to describe the smell other then almost unearthly and ghastly. Her face remained still as she ignored this strange scent and turned towards her village. "I shall let you bring your weapons sir, but let you know some of the women of our village are of the warrior tribes among the Island. They could take you out far faster then you can draw your weapon. Even drawing it upon me is not so wise. I am one who is well protected by our sentries posted among the forest. If you wish our village harm you will never even make it past Diana's statue." Since Mag did not make a hobbit of telling lies everything she had said was true. She just didn't know if the man would pull a sword of her before the statue and kill her then. If so she was done for and the angel child of her village was forever lost to time. She replied to his comment of being around her lifted his mood and she smiled a little, "I tend to have that affect on many people. It's probably because I smell like lavender. Lavender has a calming affect on people. My mother and I do it because we work as midwives and in that job you want people to be as calm as possible. I am sure our Matron would be happy to help you. Just don’t...don’t think you know what to expect from her. She is no old hack like some think, don't say anything rude to her, she might slap you." What Mag had meant by this was that the Matron was rather young well at least in appearance. She was part elf and therefore age slowly, like Mag did which was why Mag had been chosen to replace her. However Mag was just a possibility, there was another girl as well and Mag did not want to live to lonely life of the matron, nor did her mother want her too. In fact the Matron of her village was probably known as the most desirable wife. A golden haired goddess with more grace and beauty then any other on the island. Mag sung to herself as she let the man go and collect his things, her voice like an angels, heaven sent and sweet, "Bonfires dot the rolling hillsides. Figures dance around and around to drums that pulse out echoes of darkness; moving to the pagan sound. Somewhere in a hidden memory images float before my eyes of fragrant nights of straw and of bonfires, dancing till the next sunrise." |

Andumi, still in his rare good mood, smiled indulgently. "Oh, I've no doubt they could most certainly try. I may not look it, but I'm much, much older than I appear. I daresay I know a thing or two that your vaunted warriors wouldn't have seen before. Not that I'm saying I'd actually use those skills, of course; I just recently swore off violence, actually. Which is too bad, really, but I suppose my friend will be happy...she always did dislike my taste in senseless slaughter. Oh, not that she wouldn't help out, if she was in the mood, mind you, but still...." his voice, rambling lightly at first, faded into silence as he heard Ruby's song. "Remarkable. Truly remarkable. If I wasn't a monk, I'd ask you to marry me." he laughed a little at his own words, then added reassuringly, "But I jest, I jest! I'm in no mood to go looking for a mate just yet; so you can rest easy if I startled you. Heh. I didn't used to have that effect on women, you know...Used to be I was applauded for my accomplishments, beloved by my village as their shining star. Then...things happened. I won't horrify you with the details. What I will say is that yes, I have committed acts which could be construed by some to be within the domain of 'evil'. And I won't lie and say I didn't enjoy them, nor that I was forced to. I've killed my share of people; enough for even my advanced lifespan. But I digress. I say, is that the statue you were referring to?" Andumi was being shockingly chatty to the girl now. He knew she was frightened of him, and even his good mood couldn't hide his glee at that fact. Though his expressionless face had returned. He pointed to the statue in question as they walked through the forest, letting his other arm casually drop down and oh so carefully caress the hilt of his assassin's blade. He was confident in its ability to kill the girl and shatter her soul, cursed with the power of darkness as it was. Even though he had thought he was going to swear off violence, his good mood, like all moods of his, faded back into stoic boredom, and with it, so too did his newfound change of heart. Perhaps for a few fleeting seconds he had genuinely meant it. But then again, he was very fickle. He kept an eye along the treeline for the shadows of potential archers, and the ground for possible foxholes and pit traps. He wouldn't put it past this oh-so-innocent girl to attempt to lead him to his death in her stifled panic of self-preservation. |

Mag felt herself stiffen again as he spoke about all the people he had killed, it horrified her, she could not even comprehend murder, she was unable to kill a spider. Now she always kept her eye on him not trusting that she would make it home alive. In fact she had half a mind to just bolt forward and run away but something held her in place. When he made the comment about marrying her she joked in a grim way, "Why do you think I was in the forest? I was avoiding my life being sold away to a man I could never love." He went off again talking about more grim things that made her retch a little, her hands started to shake as she speed up. Now she really did want to run. Eyes darted back and forth at the trees hoping her eyes would catch the archers that most never even noticed. He spoke of the statue now, her eyes fell upon a life sized statue of a beautiful woman cloaked in elegant flowing robes with a star crown around her head. Mag smiled at the statue who was notably her goddess...well somewhat her goddess. To Mag the goddess was her own mother. Pulling her drown of yellow flowers from her head she placed it upon the statues brow and smiled lightly giving it a quick bow and speaking, "My Lady Diana." Once she stood back up again she felt a cold shiver run down her spine that made her spring up in fear and turn to the man. Her back against the statue now, she could see his hand on the hilt of a weapon. In panic her eyes shot up to the trees only to see no archers playing about in the branches. Her eyes fell back upon him, wild with fear. Deep oceans of beautiful blue, alive with starlight magic. "Please sir....you don't want to do that. Keep your hand away from your weapon or I'll...I'll...I'm an angels daughter. Even if you think you can outsmart an Amazonian archer you can not outsmart heavens armies." Her fingers rested on the arm of her goddess as eyes looked to him. "It's bad luck to kill an angel." |

Andumi was seriously enjoying himself now. Now that he knew she was afraid of him, and that she was an "angel". Most likely some sort of metaphor; Andumi, being a strict atheist, didn't take much stock in metaphysical beings such as that. He deliberately unsheathed his assassin's blade, spinning it faster and faster in his hand as he calmly lowered his center of gravity to charge at the girl, should she attempt to bolt. For added effect, he even took out his greatsword and held it loosely by his side, ready for use as well. "An angel? I can only assume that an 'angel' is a metaphysical being of light, yes? How unfortunate for you. This blade was specifically cursed to annihilate your kind, and your followers. So, honestly, I think I will take my chances against your so-called 'armies'. In fact, I'll probably enjoy slaughtering them all; it'll certainly leave a vacancy in the balance of power for me to fill." "On an unrelated note, I'm definitely feeling an extremely strong urge to kill you right now. And slaughter your village, too, after I've tortured the inhabitants in the most inventive ways. Have to maintain evil standards, you know. Why, exactly, it is that I'm so tempted to kill you right now, I'm not entirely sure. Perhaps it's this cursed blade of mine; perhaps I'm just too psychotic to really care; or perhaps it's because of the fact that, maybe, by killing you, I can restore the entirety of my powers back to me. " "I am terribly sorry for pulling this sort of thing on you after all of your kind help, but perhaps the use of your blood will aid me in returning to my own land. You see, I'm afraid I've got quite a lot of conquering to do, and the faster I can take over my own world, the faster I can return to lay waste to yours..." Andumi was definitely laying on the crazy now, letting his aura of command show as he hulked menacingly over the figure of the cowering woman. Whether or not he meant his threats was uncertain; he did certainly enjoy making them, though. And it would be a glorious victory for the forces of evil to rally to his banner for. Naturally, after eliminating those bastions of light, he'd invariably have to destroy his one-time allies here, as well. Better them than dead, his old master always used to say. Of course, Andumi took that to heart and killed him, too, along with the rest of his master's crew. Andumi began to laugh madly, now, fully confident in his illusion to completely dominate the mind of this all-too-innocent woman, a mere stripling beside his own advanced age. To say he was going too far would be an understatement of the worst kind. If he'd been a little less hedonistic in his approach, perhaps he would have realized that it was exactly this sort of behavior that had cost him his abilities in the first place. Unfortunately for Ruby, here, he wasn't. Andumi was most definitely going to enjoy killing this one. The village of women was just a bonus, now that he could find it on his own. Better them than dead, indeed... Edited by Andumi, May 30 2009, 12:35 PM.

Vensint stepped out then. The solid tree trunk from which he stepped out from twitched as he materialised as if he had simply walked though the tree to the otherside. He had sat upon a nearby tree top and watched the scene unfold. He had waited until just the moment when he could find out to see if he could get a decent fight from this. Seeing that the man was armed just made Vensint smile. Seeing that he could give a half-assed speech however mad him wonder if the boy was even in his right mind. Well now. Does this not seem like fun? A young maden and a seemingly dangerous killer. Tell me boy. Can you even use those weapons? Vensint didn't wait for a reply. He had stepped past maden and was between the boy and her. He made no misteaks, he was not interested in helping the girl so much as he was interested in the fight at hand. He didn't wait for an answer before he drew his sword and twirled it around in his hand once. he man seemed to take a certain pride in the fact that he has killed someone before. Vensitn has slaughtered country sides. Killed for weeks on end without rest. Every town he crossed paths with seemed to burn to the ground by the time he strolled out the other side of them. He was in fact the worst kind of killer. He killed for fun, not for need. He did it to become the best. He carved his way from place to place, literaly. The notion that this boy could kill him made his heart skip a beat or two, making him more focused. The blade stopped spinning and he waited for the other to spring forward like his stance suggested... |

Mag had crouched down lower as he drew the weapon on her, heart racing in her chest her eyes gazed up at him like a frightened doe cornered by a pack of wolves with no escape. Those endless beautiful blue pools light up with such a deep dark and beautiful fear. It was the sort of fear you could almost taste and yet in the same her fear showed a slight flicker of something else, something dark that lingered deep within her. Like a black fire it flickered in her pupils, an endless abyss of potential. Potential what, cruelness, darkness, hatred, murder, death, lust. It was everything Mag was not locked away within the depth of her eyes. True it was not her but is was apart of her, in another life she may have been a reckless monster cold and unfeeling but some twist of fait had made her this pure creature so bright and radiant that even Avalons purest creatures would be attracted by her light. Her hands went up in defense as she knew her life would surly end here, tears streamed down her face as she thought of all the things she would never have, all the things she would never do. The one that stuck out in her mind most of all was the fact she would never fall in love, never get married, never have a family, never give birth, never hold a her baby in her arms, never be a mother, never love so much it hurts. All this potential she could have had, this life she dreamed of would never be and all because of the stroke of a thin blade meant to pierce her flesh and end her life. Mag did not beg nor whimper or complain. She just sat their with the knowledge that if she is meant to die here an now she would and that no life was she ever to have. The fates had decided she would live to this moment and then vanish as if she had never been. However if she had a sunrise past today she would not die here by his hands. He gave his speech about killing, listening silently and no longer fearing for her own life but for her family. A sudden burst of courage welled up within her fragile frame as she jumped up and yelled with almost a dark intent, "I'll kill you before you lay a hand on my village." It was as if the darkness of hell had sprang from the ground and leaked out into the world through her soul. Though it was not her evil it was an evil all the same. A darkness that put a stain on shadows and chilled the air. Something dark and unstable had breed her long ago, something unfamiliar and cruel, uncaring and rage filled had formed the pure blood in her veins. When she went to grab his dagger another man seemed to materialize from the forest himself and a strange joy came over her. She had not been excited because she was to be saved but because she felt as if this man was destine to save her, no had oathed to save her. Standing between her and the man Mag's eyes widened as she thought to herself with eyes filled with wonder, 'Is this him, the man I have lived my whole life waiting for? Is this my...father?' She didn't know, she had never meat him. All she knew was he was indeed an angel and since this man had used some form of strange magic she knew he might be an angel and if so he might be her father come to play the guardian angel she had always dreamed him to be. |

Andumi grinned, licking his lips lasciviously at Ruby's surprising show of spine. This was a pleasant surprise. "Well, well. That's quite a little outburst there. How surprisingly...dark of you...perhaps you aren't completely hopeless after all. Oh, yes, I can see some real potential here. You may have just saved your life with that little display of self-preservation." he cooed to her, softly, sweetly, like a lover whispering vows of eternal love to their partner in coitus. Then he started, affronted, as a new figure, a very rude one at that, appeared with the aid of some sort of teleportation spell and proceeded to mock him. Andumi considered the new opponent carefully for a moment. His pupils dilated widely as he began to observe everything about the new figure in hypersensitive detail. It took only a few heartbeats for him to register this person as someone not entirely unskilled in combat. This could be an unfortunate development. As a courtesy, he ceased the rapid rotation of his assassin's blade and changed his stance guardedly, moving the arm holding the greatsword up and forward into the main 'ready' stance. As for his assassin's blade, he reversed the grip on the handle, flipping the blade to point away from the enemy. This would come in useful, later. He allowed a small frown to adorn his face, making it look handsomely brooding. His eyebrows, ever expressive, contracted together in a sculpted 'V' shape as he toyed with the thought of having to slaughter this impudent stripling, no matter his appearance. Then a thought struck him. It was highly unusual for any being in this world not immensely powerful to dare attempt to trifle with him. Could this person be...in fact...one of his own people, merely playing a cruel practical joke on a kinsman? There was only one real way to find out. "Can I use these weapons? Don't make me laugh, my dear traveling friend. If I could not, I would not bother using them. Before I kill you out of hand for rudely interrupting mine and Ruby's conversation, may I ask you a question? Does the word 'My'thyrian' hold any meaning for you? Please answer honestly, as I am quite desperate for information on that count. From your appearance, however, it seems you are spoiling for a fight. My apologies. I am really in no mood for dealing with wandering swordsmen, impudent or no. So, if you would, please step aside. My friend Ruby here seems not to take a joke too well. I only merely pretended to frighten her in order to get a rise out of her. You see, I rather dislike static beings. But I'm rambling, aren't I? My apologies." Andumi changed tack rapidly as his attention was already wandering from the matter at hand. However, he wasn't stupid. He still had enough presence of mind to keep his blades drawn, though in a more solid and defensive grip than before. |

She shuttered at the mention that anything about her was dark. There was nothing dark within her, not a shed of shadow. She was the very essence of light and laughter, she was the closest thing to angel on earth. He told her she may have just saved herself but she didn't feel safe yet. She was not safe until he was gone and he would not be gone until that strange man had taken him out. That strange man who could possibly even be her father. She growled back at him as he mentioned her name to the stranger, "What conversation would we hold my friend. You have no feeling nor pity in your heart, just darkness. I do not bind my words with darkness sir, only spit them at it." Her respect for this man was out the window now, he deserved no respect nor anything else for that matter. That he would take her life and the lives of every woman and child within her village. A village of helpless people who would do no harm to him or his cause. It was evil, no beyond evil. Even evil would not bother to harm her village because to evil it was pointless. He was most certainly crazy. Slowly she stood up again as the two men were facing each other, ready to fight if they must. Even as he spoke about a joke she did not trust nor believe him. She wanted no part of anything this man had for her or her village and she had not lied when she said she would kill him if he harmed anyone. She just had to alert someone who could fight and then have the few sorceresses put up the ring so nothing with dark intention could cross. She had to get home and sound the alarm for the sake of everyone she had ever loved. If only Tal had been here. he had always protected her and the village. If only the women would have let him stay in town. "Yes and a cat only merely chases a mouse for the fun of it. No when you made that threat you meant to cut my throat or worse. What trust should I have in a man who plays a lamb and turns to be a wolf?" She backed up a little more hoping she would have a clean dash to the village, no she could not lead him to the village even if they were so close. Yet if she ran in some other direction he might just kill everyone and she would not be able to stop it. To the village it was. Her heart raced as she spun around and started running, the village was still some distance yet, the statue was the half way mark but she could make it, she was fast. hands grabbed the sides of the trees as she darted along so swift and graceful to her freedom. Eyes flickered about in desperation as she left the scenery around her fade into the back of her mind. It didn't take long before she found herself in a clearing and she began to panic. In her fear she had taken the wrong path and gone out to the ritual grounds. Turning about a few times her breathing became quick and sharp as her heart raced and the world spun around her. Falling to the ground she burst into tears half believing she would pass out and then be killed. It was better to be passed out and murdered then be awake to feel the whole thing. Sitting up she brushed tears from her eyes and gasped trying to recollect herself just enough to stop her panic attack. |

The Good My'thyrian
|
As Mag cried, a chime, clarion and ambient in its sound, echoed forth throughout the island. A massive runic insignia, over several hundred feet in width, and full of ancient symbols beyond understanding, burned itself with soothing white flames into the ground, causing bizarre plants never seen in Avalon to rapidly sprout and grow along its key lines. A similar pentagram, though sans flora, appeared parallel to the first, several hundred feet above the air, although it was several times more complex than its partner. A wall of light shot forth silently and connected the two as the chiming noise rang forth once more. The ground began to ripple most peculiarly as the spell commenced. Slowly, a dome of silver could be said to be emerging from the now-liquid seeming earth. But that was merely a misnomer, as the dome rose to reveal itself as silver hair attached to a face, and a young woman's body, clothed in strange, utilitarian garb of a silvery mesh that seemed to have no beginning and no end on her body. Bolts of lightning began to arc as she fully emerged from the bottom of the spell form, but something was not quite right. Chains, dozens of them, bound to collars on her throat, legs, and arms, appeared to be holding her back, almost dragging the young woman down from whence she had come. As she gained consciousness in the middle of the spell, she seemed to realize that the spell was malfunctioning, and attempted to break the chains binding her to the now-hardening surface of the spell form. This was a bad idea. Though she had managed to break the chains on her les and arms, it was the final chain on her throat that attracted a rogue lightning bolt. Her resulting screams could be heard for miles, the agony was so great. A small runic mark briefly burned itself onto the surface of the skin on the girl's neck, then faded from sight altogether as the girl noticed Mag for the first time. "Help...me...name...Senriyu...Hayate...please...aacck..." Senriyu managed to call out to the girl before losing consciousness, collapsing in on herself, her hair seemingly creating a cocoon of moonlight around her prone form. The spell form faded just as quickly as it had appeared, with a final chime, harsh, discordant, but still sickeningly beautiful all the same, sounding throughout the island for all to hear. Vensint blinked. He could either lie and kill him later or he could just teleport behind the boy and gut him from behind. He focused back onto the situation. The boy asked him a question but Vensint had toned him out by then. Something about My'thyrians, whatever that was. He didn't answer, due to the fact that a loud scream washed over the scene and made him loose his train of thinking. Vensint shook his head a little, the boy could take that as an answer enough but Vensint used that minor movement to clear his head and got himto refocus on the boy in front of him. He noted that the kid liked to talk a lot. A little pointless in the end. If the boy knew how to use his swords as good as he said then there wouldn't be a speech... Vensint turned around. This boy was to ignorant to die. Which was a new feat to him. Usually he would just slit their throats and walk off. Now he just desided to let the boy find out for himself who a real slaughter master was. Being a follower of war had introduced Vensint into some real interesting characters. He started walking after the girl who had just fled. Should he boy behind him attack him, Vensint would surely not be as easy on him. The kid was barely worth his time in the first place. |

Andumi knew that scream. Well, sort of. He'd heard something mildly like it once when he'd accidentally barged in on Senriyu bathing in an open-bath hot spring. Of course, even now he wasn't entirely sure how he'd gotten to become entwined with a very large tapestry some hundred or so yards away, but that was besides the point. He shrugged his shoulders regretfully as the figure nodded his head in lieu of a response. No matter. It seemed that he, too, was a dead end. But then the man merely turned away, following the trail that Ruby had fled down. Incidentally, it was also the same direction as the source of the scream, and a very large magic circle, which appeared to be some sort of prismatic column, even from this distance. He was impressed. If that little stripling of a woman had actually managed something as powerful as what he could see it was, then perhaps he had been mistaken in tossing aside any hope of alliance with her and her people. Then again, he was technically evil. Being an arrogant neurotic psychopath was just merely the persona he thought best embodied traits described by the majority of civilized society to be unacceptable, or "evil". But here he was, discussing semantics with himself, when there were things to do. He followed after the man, suddenly deciding he'd attempt to lessen any possible feeling of threat about him in the eyes of this new figure. That way he could slip his assassin's blade into the base of the man's skull when he lowered his guard. "I say, sir, have you happened to notice the large...thing...up there? What do you suppose it is? I'm Corvan, by the way. Nice threats, by the way, I like your style." Andumi was forced to yell occasionally as he pointed at the said...thing."You don't suppose Ruby is the one behind that, do you? No, I guess you wouldn't know anything about her, would you? Listen, if this gets rough, I'd appreciate establishing a non-aggression pact with you for the time being. You seem to have places to go, and I have certain things to do of my own, so how about we let bygones be bygones, eh?" |
