Nightshade Princess
Lydia sat out in the courtyard sitting by some brightly colored flowers. She sat there in the soft grass. The skirt of her red dress stretched out over to lawn as she sat there under the warm sunlight with a paper in her lap. Slowly she moved charcoal across the parchment etching a bird, immortalizing it onto the rough surface. Her eyes glanced up to study the animal once more before letting the charcoal hit the paper again as to finish off its wing. She was happy to get a little alone time away from the hectic interior of the temple. Silence, it was the most beautiful sound in all the world but still to quite and far to lonely for her.

Warm brown eyes looked up as her black locks fell back off her shoulders. She looked over to the fountain in the distance and smiled lightly to think back on her memories of watching Lily play in the water. Lily, that little monster, Lydia had gotten over the pain by now. She no longer cried at night nor mourned her daughter. Lily was evil, she had been born evil and Lydia never wanted to look at her again but she still loved the little monster. Why, simple, she was a mother, you can't stop loving. Her eyes met the bird again only to watch as it flew away. Its winds opened wide as the creature flew thought eh blue sky, colors dancing across its body.

Seeing as her model had decided to leave her alone she threw her paper and charcoal to the side and let herself fall back into the grass. Eyes moved to the sky as a small smile crept across her face and her hand came to rest just a little over her head. Clouds rolled overhead like ships in the sea...a sea of majestic blue with a great golden orb that light the sky of day. Listening to the wind her eyes closed slowly, troubles faded from her mind. Every time she closed her eyes pictures would play in the back of her mind. A life she only wished she could have had.

She imagined laying somewhere else in the world, upon sheets of emerald grass surrounded by flowers with the sound of laughter in the background. Two young boys running around happily as she blew the seeds of a dandelion free into the wind. What a perfect world it seemed, she went to that retreat in her mind on stressful days but there was one thing wrong with this world. Lydia may have had the sons she always prayed for, she may have been home, she would be a princess for all she cared but something was always missing, Halli. If Halli could not be in her world she didn't want it, it was not worth it.

What made human beings love she would never know, what made a killer love was even more puzzling. Her chest moved slowly as she took in each breath feeling the warmth on her face, her lashes trembling softly as she daydreamed. Birds sang their beautiful songs filling her mind with light thoughts that lifted her once heavy heart. Sora sat nearby ruffled up and dreamy as she rested in the soft grass not for from Lydia. Sisaro was curled up next to the falcon as if her were her young chick. The two birds seemed just as distant and free in mind as Lydia was. She liked to be out in the courtyard...at least when she was not surrounded by people chattering and large crowds. She felt it was a shame, Halli and her didn't get much time alone but she could deal with that. So long as they could at least share smiles when passing one another in the halls.
