He had been told of a flower that blooms only in the desert. I flower that was supposed to keep on blooming even after the end of time. Of course, it was most likely a hoax. But he was a bit gullible. And so his curiosity was piqued and he wondered if he shall go or not. In the end, he had consulted his cards. There weren't any bad signs though one card intrigued him. The Emperor. And so he has set out and had reached that which was inevitable. "I'm lost..." He told himself as he was walking in a fixed pace through the desert. He had no expression of dismay nor of regret and disappointment. Rather, he had yet to know of these things. Right now, he needed to find a way to survive. He was thirsty and hungry. He needed sustenance. |

Though she was unaware of any tales told about her little garden, the chimera tended it all the same. She did not have many visitors to her shrine, though she was aware of those who deemed themselves a follower of her. Some just attuned themselves to nature, others for hope that it would increase their prowess with magics involving the earth. The flowers were pretty though ... and she enjoyed such things. So she tended to them for dual purposes, so that she may enjoy a field of flowers in her own oasis, and to gift them upon those who deemed themselves follower. An ear would twitch as the young girl stood slightly crouched above the flowers, a pail full of water being sprinkled over the blooms. She knew, as she always did, that someone was entering her home. Though she was in the midst of tending flowers, a gentle nudge would cause the earth before her guest to open, a pathway revealing itself to the river running through her oasis. If he didn't turn tail and run at such strange display, he may just find those flowers he sought. |

His stomach made a growling noise indicating that he was hungry. He placed his hand on his tummy and looked around. None. The only thing he saw was sand. Suddenly, some shaking caught his attention. Right before his eyes, he saw a path carving itself. Was it purposely leading him? He looked behind and saw nothing changed. The path began where he stand and where it would end, he would find out. He started to walk in the same pace as if he weren't tired or fatigued. Deep inside, her was already aching to rest, the sun was beating down on him and he was starting to lose water faster than usual. He was hungry and thirsty. Then, a glimpse of something made him run to it. A flower or violet petals. They were beautiful. It was true. The rumor about the flowers were true. |

She knew that her path would lead the way, and so she simply remained in her garden to await her visitor. a little tune would be hummed softly as if she were singing to the flowers. And perhaps she was. When at last her pitcher was emptied of water, and the flowers had been given their fill, she stepped to the edge of her garden. The guardian waited, but it did not take long for him to arrive. If she had not been so strange herself, she may have sensed something off about the man. As it was however she only smiled as he arrived. A hand rose to wave as she greeted him. "Hi! Thirsty yes? Come come this way. River close. Ok?" | |

He admired the flowers as they were in front of him. What was more marvelous was that they were flowers. Many of them forming a garden in the middle of the harsh desert. Truly a miracle to behold. A voice had stopped his musing over the flowers. He turned to see a girl. She had an aura about her of sorts. He couldn't really pinpoint what it was about her that seemed to radiate. She had waved to him so he waved back, returning the gesture which he deemed to be friendly. She had spoke of thirst and water and a river! There was a river here! Ah, it was a blessing. He felt his dry throat and was very inclined to follow her. "Thank you. I am in need of potable liquid." |

Her head would tilt slightly at these strange words. "Sorry. No pots. But have bucket for water. But can drink straight from stream. Good water." Picking up the water pail, she prepared to leave the garden. Motioning him to follow, she turned. Twin tails swishing behind her, her gait was light. Alezra loved when people stopped by to visit. With her mate being occupied guarding his own temple, she got lonely at times. "Name Alezra. I guard earth. What your name? You okay from desert trip? Not hurt, no?" A very short time later, they reached the bank of the river. "Here here. Drink. Is good." She crouched by the water side, lowering her bucket to fill it. There were always more flowers to tend to. | |

He...didn't understand much of what she had said. He had no idea where the pottery had come from but he understood that she had a bucket and the water from the stream was good for drinking. He followed suite and saw that she had two tails sticking out her butt (that's why they were tails, are they not?). He found it strange since he thought he was just a normal human being. Soon, they reached the bank of the river and she gave him some water and also a bit of a strange introduction. He could pick up some of the words she had said and was able to understand her...somehow. He drank the water and felt himself refreshed from the cold liquid that poured inside him. He handed her the empty bucket (he had drank it fully) and bowed slightly. "I thank you for your assistance. I am not harmed during my traverse in the desert if that was what you were asking. My name is Æ(Ah-eeh). Why do you have two vertebral extensions?(tails)" |

It was alright, she didn't really understand him either. And people called her strange... Taking a seat on the river bank, she set the accepted water bucket aside. Deciding that she wished to rest herself, after all that flower gardening, her feet would slowly lower into the water. Tails curling about her waist to keep out of the way, she kicked her feet idly. Investigating fish swam by, but disappeared upon seeing two shadows in the water above. "No hurt? Ok. This is good." She smiled. Alezra would then turn to look at the strange youth, her head tilted like a curious puppy. He asked her strange questions, with words she did not understand. Very big words that she had no comprehension of. "Two verb whats?" A hand rose to tug at one ear as she tried to decipher the meaning of his words. "Hmmm... I chimera!" She finally answered, deeming it usually what people asked about. |

Her words hold no grammar but he could understand that basing from her age or how old she appeared to be. Also, it was not that hard to understand what she was trying to convey, context and the fact that her words were of the same language as his helped establish some form of communication. "Vertebral Extensions...tails," He elaborated or rather put it into simple terms as she seemed to be a bit unable to understand complex words that he favored more to use. It was then that she had told him she was a chimera. It surprised him though his face showed the same emotionless expression he had been carrying as far as he remembered. He had thought that chimeras were only beasts of legend. Apparently, she had disproved that idea immediately. "I see. I be human." He told her that he was human, thinking that he was. He didn't really know what he is for now. Also, he had attempted to mimic her way of speaking to...try and communicate better. "What kind of flowers?" He raised the small flower that he had plucked earlier and showed her. |

"Ohhhh." She nodded in understanding, her gaze going back to the river. A very large shadow moved close to them from under the water. It seemed to be investigating their presence for a moment, before vanishing.Of course, Alezra knew what it was.One of the many rare citizens of her oasis lived in this river. A mermaid, quite a friendly lady too by Alezra's opinion. She would pet the fur of her tails for a moment now that they were being spoken of. Always have them cause I chimera. But can make them go away. Have wings too, but hot in desert, so can't see them now unless you ant me to show. Don't mind any way." She gave a look that could be described as skeptical as he claimed to be human. "Well, you weird human then. But that okay." Taking a flower from her hair, she compared it with the one the man held. They were the same. "I don't know. But they pretty. And smell nice. Never see them anywhere but desert, so I made a garden of them! They are special. But..." Alezra took the flower he held, and stuck it in the collar of his shirt. "I like you! So. You can keep it!" |

"Weird human?" Æ tilted his head in confusion as he pondered on why she had said he was weird. He couldn't find anything that would seem to be so. He kept trying to blend in by watching the crowd, usually the wrong ones too. "Why would Æ be weird?" The girl, Alezra had told him that she did not know the names of these flowers. In the gossips, rumors and myths, it was not known as well. Perhaps it is yet to be seen by people who wish to name it. Right now, Æ just admired the beauty of the flower that he had held. She told him to keep it which he was grateful for. "Thank you," It was then that his stomach had grumbled. Ah yes, he was hungry. He placed a hand on his tummy and turned to Alezra. "Can I have some sustenance?" |

She gave a good natured laugh. "Just ... different. But is good. Yes." And she knew different. It was the way he spoke and asked questions. Even in the most civilized and modern of cities visited, she'd never heard anyone talk like he did. In his words next however, the visual sign and growl of his stomach let her know what he needed. "Many food things in oasis. What do you like?" This was true, she could give him anything. Well as long as he did not expect a king's supper. But her oasis held large variety of plants and animals. Though she protected this place, she too was a predator and had no qualms against hunting the prey animals here. "I can even catch fish here."" She gestured towards the river before them and indeed there were many fish lurking in the cool depths. |

Different. He always felt that he was different but never too much different. He felt mostly that he does not belong to any place he goes. He was...lost. A short speech distracted him from those thoughts as she had said that there were many things to be eaten in the oasis. He was even asked what he would like to eat. Well, he could eat anything edible. He had never been a picky type. Fish. She said she can catch fish. Ah, he had never tasted much fish before. It was a good suggestion. It was scrumptious and full of nutrients as well. "Yes, an osteichthyes would be a good form of a meal. How do we acquire one?" |

While she did not know what that big word he sued was, she heard him say 'yes'. This was enough for the chimera to understand that he would like a fish. Smiling briefly to show dainty catlike fangs, she motioned for him to sit and relax. "No worry. I chimera, chimera is part cat. I am good at catching fishes. You sit, wait, I catch." Though she did not mind eating fish raw, she would even cook it for the comfort of her guest. Stepping away to a quieter part of the river, she crouched at the river bank. It was here she waited, poised to leap at the water in a moment's notice. Several minutes would pass before finally, she lunged. Soaked u to the shoulders in the water, she just as quickly jumped back. Tossing over her shoulders a large, shining, blue green fish. It flopped on the bank in vain, before finally stilling. |

Well, she had said once that she was a chimera and said that she is again. From what he can remember, chimeras are creatures that are a mix between several other creatures. Though, it was the first time he had actually met one. She said proudly that she was part cat and can catch good fish. He could do nothing else but watch her as she simply plucked one out of the waters and lay down the fish as it was struggling for its life in vain. Sad but it was the way of nature from what he recalled. He took the fish in his hands and sniffed a bit before he bit off part of the head and started eating. Ah, it tastes better when cooked but he can tolerate the taste when it isn't. | |
