Denathil
Virtue's Seeker
Devoid of thought, of reason. Could someone's cause be so waylaid by thought alone that they would give their soul to get back on track? Denathil found himself along the lake's edge, eyes darting over the glimmering surface as he leaned against a rather massive tree. The quality of air cleansed his mind but did naught to soothe his heart as he could feel his very blood turning against him.

"How long, how long do I have before there is no hope." He was fighting on the brink now, a cause-less warrior, with nothing left to protect other than his tainted bloodline and his own life, neither of which fighting for would hold back the curse from destroying him. "All this for the bordem and whims of Goddess?" The man spits with the final words, turning his head to not sully the calm waters.

He had aligned himself with this... League of Light, but heard little from them in ways of how he could aid their cause. Along the path he laid behind him he had assailed bandit camps, demons, and other infestations of horrid nature he could and still it was not enough to purify the name given to him by his father.

With a heavy sigh, Denathil glanced over at his piled armor, dulled as any true knight's armor should be, the wear and tear upon it mended by skilled and practiced hands in the last village he past. Still, not even the finest could bear the damage his body took as night came and went. "There has to be something out there." A reason to lift his sword.

Thoughts slipped away from him as he pulled some wood aside and made a fire, laying out his camping gear. Out of his pack he pulled a slab of meat, tearing off a small portion he laid it over the fire to cook while he tidied up the place. Night fall next to the lake brought on sights he thought would only show in dreams. An fawn the size of a full grown steed past by on the edge of his light and nearly took his breath away. "By the Lords." The young man shook his head and snagged up the meat with a gloved hand, cooling it a moment before scarfing it down. Hands washed upon a cloth he settled himself by the warmth of the fire, his father's book in hand.

Before he could bother to open it he dozed off, oblivious to the world.

The Rain does fall....
Raina had been wandering, a mere few days ago she had been kidnapped by a group of bandits hoping to sell her for some gold yet she had managed to get away from them and wandered here. Her gown was torn and her hair dulled, but when she saw a silver lake before her she smiled. Finally, she could bathe... she stripped off her worn out clothing and slipped into the cool liquid, letting it wash over her. She emerged from the watery surface, and dried herself off some before climbing back into her worn gown. She began walking along the edge of the lake, pausing once or twice to admire the scenary.

Rain saw a figure nearby and stayed at a distance, watching to see what their business was. Yet nothing wrong appeared to be going on so when she saw the figure rest and still for a while she approached slowly. Her thoughts were racing. May this person tell me where I am? How far am I from home? Can I trust him? Should I really be going towards him now? What if he means to do me harm? What shall I do if he does mean me harm? I pray to the gods, let him be able to tell me where I am... I want to know how far I am from home... I want to find my way back home.... I miss my mother, and she must be worried dearly....

Raina stopped a few steps from the man and sat down silently on the ground near him, waiting on him to awaken. It would be rude to ruin his slumber so she would allow him to sleep and when he awoke she would ask him her questions. She waited a while, and eventually grew tired herself so she laid down on the ground, still watching him... still waiting... yet she began have to blink every once in a while to keep herself awake. Eventually her eyes closed and she drifted off, her slumber light, the slightest sound able to awaken her. Her mind was still in full alert and her dreams of home, her mother and father and their loving embrace....
