Sitting just outside a cave mouth, with his golden eyes stared out across a sandy shore, Kael fell into state of tranquillity. The lycan couldn't recall the last time he'd felt this way. Probably not since before Alezra had taken off on her journey. Certainly no time after she'd sent him away from her well before the journey's end. With some remorse Kael sighed, it'd been too long since their parting. Even when he tried to think back to it the details had been lost fogged over by time, all he could remember clearly was that he'd left unwillingly, and as a result angrily, and her final instructions for him. Find the shrine of water? If only it was that easy. Closing his eyes, Kael laid upon his back on the cool earth, drawing in its damp scent, and day dreamed of the young guardian who smelt so similar. Once he'd found the shrine he'd track her down and tell her, after all as the last remaining guardian she'd know best how to proceed. Better still I'll lead her to it. Then we'd stay together. For that I need to find it quickly... I hope I find it soon... With that final thought in his head Kael slipped into a dream filled sleep.

Looking across the previously calm sea Kael could not believe the change. Before he'd fallen asleep he was enjoying the cool spray a knee high waves broke on the beach, now that scene had been replaced with one of chaos, waves bigger than a man were breaking on what little remained of the beach, most of its sand having been reclaimed by the overpowering current caused by the water running back out before forming together into yet another wave, larger still than any previous one. For a moment Kael could do nothing but gaze in awe as it continued to grown in size until its size rivalled that of any building he'd seen. As the first spray began raining down on him, indicating the imamate threat of the monstrosity breaking, survival instincts kicked in. If he could make it to the cave behind, sealing the entrance with ice, then he might have a chance a living through the tidal wave. Turning on the balls of his feat Kael sprinted for his one chance at safety. No matter how long his stride that small opening of hope seemed ever elusive, while the deafening roar of water grew louder and louder until a single misplaced footfall sent him tumbling to the ground. Looking back in horror his senses were overwhelmed by the display as the crest began to fall from directly above. In a childish attempt to save himself Kael through up his arm, shielding his sight from the inevitable and waited... and waited... and waited.

Lowering his arm Kael looked around him and slowly rose to his feet and began walking. Gone was wave that had been about to claim his life. Along with its roaring sound or its wash's salty tang. The cave he'd been seeking for refuge was equally elusive in the field of dead grass and leafless trees. Not even his hair or cloths retained a single drop of moisture between them. Nor did the area appear to have received even a drop for a very long time. After what seemed to be an endless time of walking though drought touched lands, leaving him heat stroked and dehydrated, a sharp crack below caught his attention. Bending down Kael examined the broken bone, it had been left here exposed long enough for the sun to have bleached one side completely, while like the rest of the landscape it was devoid of any signs of moisture. Dropping to his knees to place the bone back something tugged at his mind, urging him to uncover the skeletal form. When one hand reached out and removed a tuff of dried out grass, revealing more of the hidden form, the next came faster. Until in a mad flurry, the skeleton was revealed in its entirety. "No. No. No. No!" In all his travels he knew of only one who fitted the unique frame. Two mismatched wings. Twin tails. Both feline and canine paws. Had his body any water to spare for tears he would have balling his eyes out already, instead he cup his face in his hands and broke down into a fit of dry sobs.

Scene after scene of sorrow flashed before his eyes. Great storms devastating cities. Seemingly impossible floods enveloping entire islands. Children freezing to death from a blizzard outside despite the fleeting warmth of a fire. Avalanches burying villages whole. Water turned so foul it was little more than poison yet still being drunk with relish. It did not take long for Kael to concluded that these were what may happen should the elements continue to be left unchecked. Whatever else, I must find that shrine soon and tell her. Even after reaching this decision the torture continued seemingly without end.

Waking Kael bolting upright with a start. Swet seemed to role from every paw of his body, while his hand seemed to tremble beyond control. As he wrestled to regain control of his hands an overpowering presence, just at the edge of his field of vision, came to Kael's attention. Though he didn't move to recognise it at all, the figure proved to be the perfect thing to focus his senses on bringing his unruly hands into line. Though he knew nothing about him, nor how long he'd been there, animalistic instincts told him that this one was powerful. Indeed, it wouldn't surprise him to find out that the dream had been induce by him somehow. There was little he believed he could do if it chose to attack, at this Kael mad a silent prayer that he wouldn't, but if he did Kael would still put up a good fight, for here along the coast his element was stable unlike anywhere else in Avalon at current. This little detail was not by chance though, after parting from Alezra he'd realised that as a keystone to an elements the locations of the shrines would be where the element was most stable. As such he'd used his own magic as a guide in order to find the small pockets of stability that may indicate the presence of the water shrine.[R4E]still writing... just don't trust my browser not to die and have me loose it...[/R4E]

A soft chuckle escaped his lips. How funny, watching the creature go through each little illusion. Perhaps it was a bit too mean...the fact that he was inducing all these illusions upon the soon to be Water Guardian. Well, the creature had to be strong enough to deserve the title, right? Aziel could not just hand it over to anyone. That person had to be worthy. It was the rules. It was the law.

Aziel was just the middle man. The enforcer. Holding only the power in which he was given. The power to give power. In all honesty, he much rather have this gift that become a God or Guardian. This seemed just right. Not too much responsibility and not too little that he would feel insignificant.

Cerulean eyes noticed the creature staggering towards him. He was stronger than most. Able to break the illusion to see clarity. What a feat it was. Perhaps it was just him becoming rusty. After all it had been quite some time since he had done this. Alas, what needed to be done needed to be done.

"I hope he's not like the others..."

Aziel whispered to himself, shifting his weight to his other leg and crossing his arms. A cool breeze came and rustled his hair and a chill ran down his spine. It was the anticipation of the whole game they were about to play....might have been the ocean air. How he hated salt water. The angel just stood there, clad in his black cloak, three blades hidden beneath it. Aziel put his hood up, to conceal his face and to keep the salt air out of his hair and back of his neck. It was just disgusting.

((Meh..sorry...its just..blah..gotta get back into the swing of things.))
