Of course, being strangers in this new land, they had to ask for directions, Devlin particularly looking for a small house they can buy to start off. It would be hard if they had nowhere to sleep the night and he was doing everything he can to find them a place to stay. That's how they had ended up in here. A bit of a large patch of land, empty but fertile. It would be easy to have a house built on it. Devlin had made sure that he had enough money to start off. Hopefully, the money he had would be enough to buy them the land, or at least, rent a place to stay while he tries to plan out their next move. Devlin led Yuri to a nearby shade of a great tree as he was still weakened and he needed to rest. He had been leaning on Yuri this whole time and wanted to take some load of her shoulder, knowing that he will be leaning on it again soon. That incident in the ship still left him badly.

They reached a large plot of land and it was obvious he wanted to rest, sitting him beneath a large tree and breathing a sigh of relief, Yuri's shoulders were not used to lifting and supporting such weight. After setting him down she carefully sat beside him, rubbing her shoulder slightly with one hand and looking to Devlin concerned. "Are you alright love?" Her soft voice asked worried. Putting her hand to his cheek softly she checked he did not have a temperature and looked lovingly into his eyes. Yuri did not care where they settled down as long as it was with him then nothing else at all would matter to her.

He let her sit beside him and placed an arm around her, pulling her close and leaning her head on him. He kissed her softly and rubbed her shoulder, surely it was sore. "Are you?" He asked her. He believed that it was more tiring for her to carry most of his weight around. He didn't like it but he had no choice. He tried walking but he fell down and he could not walk that much yet. He gazed at the large plot of land. It was tranquil and quiet, the breeze blowing on them. He wondered how she would feel if they would settle in here, have a house built...get married. He held off the question for now. There was a surprise for her later that he didn't want to spoil.

His touch on her shoulder made her feel better, she felt so much safer when she was with him. "I am fine dear, do not worry about me" Yuri smiled softly and looked at him. Something always played on her mind and that was why Devlin had never asked her to marry him, it was a dream of hers and she knew he must of thought about it. "You love me Devlin don't you" Yuri said, a little more as a statement rather then question. She loved him with all of her heart and wondered if they were wanting the same things in the future.

He wondered how he can surprise her with it. They have been together for so long. When he took some money for their journey, he took some money for the rings as well. He wanted to have a simple wedding. "Of course, I do," He told her, kissing her hair softly as he snuggled beside her. He nuzzled on her hair before thinking for a while. "Yuri...give me your hand..."

"Good because I love you" She whispered to him, resting her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes slightly, just enjoying the gentle breeze and warmth of her lover. Opening her eyes when he asked for her hand she looked to him, confused as she held her hand out for him and asked. "Why Devlin?" She asked, confused but still happy, smile on her face; part of her wondered if this was it, if he was going to purpose, but she just automatically assumed that it wasn't, trying not to get her hopes up.

He wanted to surprise her, though, it wouldn't surprise him if she was already expecting it. After all, it was bound to be sooner or later. Devlin wanted it after she closed her eyes, wanting to surprise her in addition to buying the land and settling down.

Keeping her eyes shut tight and her hands in his she tried to resist the urge of open her eyes. "What are you up to Devlin?" Yuri asked, giggling slightly and still smiling, Yuri was always so easily excitable and childish.

He knelt down on one knee and produced from his pocket a ring. A small silver ring for the engagement. The wedding rings were saved for the wedding itself. He placed the ring on her ring finger and kissed her hand. "Yuri, will you marry me?"

Throwing her arms around him and falling to the ground softly with him Yuri kissed his lips softly and whispered. "Of course I will marry you, you fool" Yuri giggled as she kissed him deeply and passionately.

He kissed her lips softly and embraced her tightly. To be honest, he doubted that she would deny his proposal. He just wanted to give her and a surprise and it seems like she was really happy about it. "We're going to buy this plot, my love, get married here, buy a house and work out a farm," He told her and kissed her cheeks as they lay on the soft grass where their home would be found.

Lying beside him, lying on her stomach while he lay on his back Yuri giggled and looked over the land. "We get to be together forever now... no more parents dividing us" She smiled at the thoughts then looked down at the grass a little sad. Though Yuri loved Devlin with all her heart she was still a family loving girl and she loved her mother and father, and thought they loved her; thoughts of what they tried to do to her filled her mind as she wondered why they had done that.

He felt that it was worth it, though. He wouldn't want anything else other than to be with her. Though, it grazed his mind as to why they were betrayed by the very people they had grown up with, he saw her power in the ship and figured that it was either out of fear or something related to her magical potential. He kissed her cheek, feeling that those memories were weighing down on her.

Newcomer Posts: 4 Group: Members Member #5,371 Joined: March 5, 2009	Burrying her face softly against his chest she tried to block out those memories, she had promised herself that she would try and be stronger, not always reliant on Devlin. Yuri was still so confused as to what possessed her parents to try sacrafice her, she was so worried after what happened on the boat that the sacrafice may of been the right thing to do. Yuri knew she did what she did to help her Dev but that was still no excuse, she still slaughtered many lives for one... "Devlin... Do you think that maybe they might of been doing the right thing? You know, what they were about to do to me... what if they had the right idea doing that?" Yuri asked, scared that she might be becomming something she did not wish to as all these thoughts played in her mind.

This was the life that he wanted. Being with her, nothing to keep them apart. Though, apparently, she had been worried about what had happened that time at the village. His embrace got a bit tighter, but not hurtful, as he tried to comfort her, kissing her cheek as he did so. "Yuri, it is always wrong to discriminate someone just because they are different," He told her, trying to comfort her the best way that he can. He vowed to himself here and now that she will always be his Yuri. And he will go to great lengths to bring her back if she changes.
