A World in Chaos

The Land of Avalon is a freeform medieval/fantasy roleplaying site loosely based on Arthurian lore. Avalon is home to many friendly members, administrators, and position holders, most of whom are always willing to RP, no matter how new a person might be to the site. With a large shop system full of various spells, items, and equipment no two characters are the same. With character races ranging from elves and humans to dragons, chimeras, and demons Avalon welcomes a wide range of races and RP skill levels. From the Northern Lands holding word limits suited for beginners to the West for the more advanced, no one is too inexperienced to join in on the fun. With a variety of deities and elemental guardians, kings and nobility to pledge to (or oppose) there is no shortage of roleplaying opportunity. The world is in chaos, the elemental guardians missing for far too long. With the imbalance of the elements, the lone earth guardian is unable to support Avalon all on her own. And so Alezra has left the earth shrine to find out what is wrong in Avalon. She has already investigated the former darkness shrine on her own, finding nothing but ruins and a dead forest. Now she has arrived at the old fire shrine, which is nothing but a smoldering, sulfuric pit in the Lost Lands. Here she has called for aid from all followers and anyone who is willing to help her investigate the remains of the other former guardian shrines. Meanwhile, spell casters are finding their elemental based magics going awry. Worst still is the steadily increasing occurrences of natural disasters. All over Avalon once dormant volcanoes are erupting, city streets are overtaken by fire and flood, storms lay waste to homes and villages. Not since the times of Vengeance's War and and the Red Phantom Fever has an event affected the lives of each and every Avalonian, regardless of class or creed. No one is safe from the fury of these elements gone astray. Mages and elementals all over Avalon are trying to solve the problem, thus far to no avail. Must they wait for the gods to save them? Or will new heroes arise and save us all? What does this mean? --- It means now you may post a plethora of problems involving natural disaster and miscast spells. How fun. ;) Feel free to engage in heroic rescues, or not so heroic running away from hail the size of a melon. :D The earth guardian has begun a journey searching for answers and trying to bring the elements back into check. But feel free to post in any of Avalon's many boards telling of the effects the misbehaving elements are having on the rest of Avalon. If you're not up to starting your own topic, there will be many more staff sponsored events to partake in. Even amongst the danger and disaster, you might just have some fun. ;D
