Much had changed for the young Silver in the past few weeks. He had traveled with members of the Dian clan, fought savage creatures of the Isle of Mist, and happened to fall in love while he was there. The woman was strange, and seemed out of place among her fellow humans, something Adenon knew the feeling of, though he would never be human, he couldn’t change his fate no matter what he wanted, even for his new bride, Mercy.

The woman was incredible, a vision of loveliness that would never falter in his eyes. He reached out a human shaped head and gently pushed her slate black hair behind her ear. He would never forget her hazel eyes, the confusion they held as they first met, fleeing from some possessed guards in Clearwater, or how he found her beneath the tree city the next day, and she had stepped on a Dian member named Skaren.

Those were memories that would always stay with him, even after Mercy died, and he would continue on, living through the millennia. One of the hardships of being a dragon, was that more often than not, you lived long enough to bury everyone you know. He knew life expectancy among the Welun wasn’t long, and he swore he would protect her with every fiber of his being, even if she didn’t know what he was saying half the time.

He rolled over on the leaf stuffed ‘mattress’ that the two shared, resting his head back on his folded arms. He had fought the most savage beasts, and beside the likes of the Guardian of Earth. He had even fought the King of Dragons and survived. All of this in just the last few weeks, and he had some how managed to find time in his schedule to marry the woman he had just met.

He wasn’t really sure how that one worked out, but it did and he wasn’t going to complain. He looked down at the diamond studded mythril ring that lay upon her ring finger. When they had decided to share a hut, neither really knew the implications, but apparently it was a big Taboo unless she had on one of these. Well he had found the best one he could find from his mother’s stash up the mountain and given it to her. Apparently they were now, darn what did the human’s call it? Married?

The Silver wondered if that was anything like mated. If it was he was in serious straights, because Silver’s were known to mate for life, and if so, than if he was mated with this woman meant that even after she died, he would be hers, all the way up until his death. He turned his molten silver eyes back toward her, and smiled. “Nah that wouldn’t be so bad at all,” he remarked cheerfully.

We'll find each other in the dark.
There was still much that she did not understand in these lands. Mercy had not been here long, but she had experienced so much in such a short amount of time that home was all but completely forgotten. Not once in her home land had she felt so ... well at home, as she did here. To say the journey had been a blur was no doubt cliche and trite. Luckily she was unfamiliar with the words or their equivalent in her native tongue. Communicating with the people encountered in her adventure had been sketchy at best. But with the time being forced into such a culture shock and a need to survive, Mercy had a better grasp on the language her than ever before. While there were still many things she had trouble expressing, there was one plain and simple truth she could not mistake.

Quite frankly, she was in love. No doubt this new life she'd gained was quite opposite of what the elders intended when they banished her to other worlds. Mercy of course, could care less. She didn't really completely understand the connotations that their new living arrangements meant in this clan of his. Whatever words the folks here spoke were beyond her comprehension to begin with. And she could not fathom how such fortune had fallen upon her to begin with. But somehow in their adventure together with the berserker and their allies in lands of mist, she had gotten close to the ice magic user.

It was probably best that she was clueless as to his being in all actuality, a dragon. Mercy had never heard of the creatures before, and her single encounter with a giant one in frigid lands was less than pleasant. The shadow caster distinctly remembered fleeing in terror to avoid being eaten by 'that big lizard thing'. She slept soundly, for it had been a long time since she'd had the comforts of a nice bed, let alone a roof over her head. It was odd how quickly she'd gotten used to the scent of rain. In retrospect however she had gotten accustomed to her new life more quickly than she could ever hope. Maybe this exile was not so terrible.

Adenon smiled at the raven haired girl next to him. He had never told her the truth of who he was, it wasn't really something he felt comfortable with, not after the initial reaction he had gotten from his tribesmen. He didn't like keeping secrets from her, and it hurt him to do it. But she also didn't know about the creature wriggling about inside of him, waiting for its next chance to explode forth. He was a clear danger to those around him, and that's why he had decided to do what he had to. He would search out who or what he really was, and hopefully learn how to bring the beast to heel.

He rolled over, throwing his feet off the side of the bed, and felt the cool earth beneath his heels. He sighed and lowered his head, running his fingers through his silvery locks. He hadn't told Mercy of his travel, and he didn't know how to. Where he was going to cost people their lives, and he wanted to do it alone. He forced himself to his feet, no longer feeling the pains of his battles that had taken place. One of the good things about being a dragon he supposed. His body was covered in white scar tissues in the shape of tribal markings, marks burned onto his body when he joined the Welun, something he had not let Mercy do, though she didn't know that he had stepped in on her behalf.

He walked to his clothes, piled beside the bed, and quickly put on a pair of brown pants and a tunic before heading outside, through the cloth flap that was used as a door. He moved out into the dirt rich path that twined its way through the huts hidden so deep in the forest. The only real protection from anything outside were the guards and the spiked branches that served as a fence. Not must help against something like a Wurm.

He walked to the river side and stooped down, splashing water on his face. A thundering crashing noise, caused him to look up, blinking the water from his eyes. He stood up slowly as he came face to face with Turalisj Tzarreth Vykzlade. The massive serpent hovered in front of the dragon, its blue scales gleaming as its pit yellow eyes glared in defiance. “Oh quit looking at me like that, Tur. I wont be gone that long.” Adenon said, shaking his head as the massive creature leaned in and brushed hard against his side. “Just like a big cat, aren’t you?”

We'll find each other in the dark.
Finally, she awoke with the warmth of the sun. Stretching briefly, she covered a yawn with the back of her hand. As she shook off the last chains of sleep, she'd notice the bed held more room than usual. Blinking the sleep from her eyes, she realized Adenon was no longer there. Glancing around their tent she saw he was not there. It only meant he was already awake and outside. But that's all she knew. She rolled out of bed, before putting on her clothes. Leaving the ratty jacket behind, as she didn't need it here, she dressed slowly before walking out into the sunlight.

Squinting against the brightness, she guessed that Adenon would be near the river. After all, he wouldn't just leave the tribe and abandon her here with them when she wasn't exactly acclimated to the place ... would he? The shadow caster shook her head, he wouldn't do that to her. What was she supposed to do around here without him? Already there were a few things at odds with her in this place, she didn't act completely to the tribes usual specifications of its people. Ah well, it was a nice day, no point in spoiling it with needless worries.

As she made her way to the stream, it was not difficult to see that indeed Adenon was there. And with company. Shyly walking up to them, she'd keep a distance as she watched the two, wondering what they were up to.
