Five days. He was out cold for five days and almost had died. He knew that his body could not take up much of a beating. He wondered if it made her feel bad about it. He doesn't want her to. He was doing everything he can to protect her...but he felt as if it weren't enough. If only he was stronger, he could have prevented what had happened. Worry and guilt was clear on his face. He felt like he had failed her the moment that he had gotten beaten up. He wondered if he can really protect her or it would just be her saving him. Suddenly, he perked up, remembering that it was her that had saved him...or at least, he thinks so. He decided to ask her, though, hesitatingly. "Yuri..." He called out softly to her, not wanting to be one that would impose. "Love...who rescued me? Who fought those people that had taken me? I remember something but it's all a blur." |

Yuri looked to the ground slightly, fidgeting with the edge of her dress, she didn't want to tell him, she didn't want him to think her some demon witch. Letting out a sigh Yuri stood to her feet shuffling the empty dishes, avoiding looking at Devling but she couldn't hide it from him, she couldn't hide anything from him. Looking down at him softly with tears in her eyes she answered. "I did.... I killed all those men..." She felt herself breaking down. It felt like there was a lump in the girl's throat as she tried to hold back the tears and she'd started talking now and couldn't stop. "I left the room and there was just this ... energy running through me, magical... As I ran to your room it just seemed that my body shot off these arrows of pure magic" Yuri sobbed to him, falling to her knees beside his bed and burrying her face against his blanket. "Please don't think me a demon... please don't leave me" Yuri begged, begging for his forgiveness, begging for his love. |

She didn't answer. It was one of the things that worried him. The fact that she had not answered. He could inferred that it was something really bad or something she was fearing the result if he had known. He didn't pry anymore. He figured that he would put his trust on her on this one. He just hoped that she was trusting him enough as well. He didn't want her to leave nor let go of her...ever. The mere thought of being separated from her was already enough to almost drive him to the brink of insanity. He didn't want to lose her. In time, she had approached him and she had admitted the fact that she had killed all those men. He listened intently as she explained how, or how it had happened. He noticed her getting afraid, especially when she cried out that he should not think of him as a demon. Begging for him not to leave. That tugged a string in his heart and he found himself getting out of the bed and embracing her tightly. His weakened state made him fall to his knees as he held on to her tightly. "Yuri...I would be a fool if I had let something like that turn me away from you. You are my only one and I accept you for who you are...witch, demon or human. I will always love you." |

Yuri felt him falling to his knees beside her as he embraced her, obviously not thinking her some witch, she embraced him back and listened to what he had to say. Devlin promised to love her always as she just held on tightly to him and promised him. "I will love you forever as well Devlin, you are my only one" Yuri promised as she lightly kissed his head. Letting go softly the girl stood to her feet and tried to help him up. "You need all the rest you can get before the ship docks" Yuri explained, knowing that time was short and that they did not have to long for him to waste his energy. Helping him back into the bed Yuri looked at him softly and worried. "Where are we going to go once we are off the ship Dev?" Yuri asked, concerned and worried, they were two kids in love with little money and on a land they knew nothing of. |

He kissed her softly and held on to her tightly. He whispered the words of endearment to her several times, wanting to show her how much he loved her. He kissed her again and tightened his embrace until she had stood up. He clung to her and stood up before she had let him lay on the bed to rest. True, his body will need all the rest he can get. They have lots of things to do once they land. But...Devlin hadn't thought much about it. He didn't know Avalon that much. He only knew that they would be safe there, away from their parents' sudden insanity. "I don't know," Devlin told her honestly. He thought about what they should do and figured that they should wander off aimlessly. He thought about finding a cheap small but comfortable house and maybe a farm. They had enough money for that, he hoped. It would be one of the good things for them to get settled down in a peaceful life. Then, he planned that they would get married too. |

Neither of them knew nothing of Avalon and neither of them knew much of life but they had each other and that was enough for them. Yuri heard him answer that he did not know where they would go and she loved his honesty to her. "Dev my love, as long as we are together we will work things out, right?" Yuri said with a smile, thinking of all the things they could do. She could only dream of finding somewhere peacefull to live, a small cottage in her mind, she could imagine the quaint cottage with flowers and a small family with her love. A smile took up Yuri's young face as she thought about it. Leaning down she kissed Devlin's lips and smiled, whispering. "I love you" To him softly as her hand held on to his softly. The thought of a peaceful life, though no life is drama free but she knew if she had devlin she could do anything. |

He heard her question and it was no doubt filled with worry. He felt her hand holding on tightly to his and her soft lips on his. He smiled and nodded. He knew that as long as they were together, they can surpass anything. He would protect her, trying to keep her power from other prying eyes. While he accepted her fully, he didn't know if other people will but he does not wish to take any chances in that. He pulled her back in, kissing her softly as he tightened his hold on her hand. He looked at her in the eyes and with all of his heart, told her what he felt, "I love you too." A few hours and they were supposed to disembark the ship and step into the lands of Avalon. He hoped that they would get a fresh start to give them a bit of stability. He was planning things in his mind and he wanted a peaceful and settle life for them. |

Yuri felt only love from him, he even stayed with her through hard times, it could not be denied how much their love let them concure. Hearing his words again but made it so sweet and warmed her heart. Interlocking her fingers with his as she leaned over him slightly and looked down on him softly, smile on her sweet face as a few strands of her blue hair fell down over her face. The only thing she worried of when they were to dock and leave the ship was Devlin's health. Yuri was promising herself that she would not let her love fall to such beatings because of her again, she would learn to protect herself so that he did not always have to protect them both. Though they planned for a simple life Yuri knew it would never be entirely simple, danger lurked everywhere and there was no way in which they could avoid it. |

Their journey to Avalon had come to an end as the ship had docked and they had disembarked. It was the end of the life that they had in the village. A life that had been full of lies and deceit and pain and suffering. True, it had hurt deeply when the problem had risen up but this was another chance for the two of them. A new land and a new beginning. A horrid past giving them hopes for a better future. This time, there would be no hindrances, or so Devlin prayed. He had vowed to protect Yuri with his own life. He knows that she had a great distaste for the beating that he had taken, even being knocked out for a few days, but there was no other way he could think of doing but protect her. His aspirations to be a knight has long since dwindled the moment their homes had betrayed them. He prayed...that they find a safe haven in this land. [End] |
