With character races ranging from elves and humans to dragons, chimeras, and demons Avalon welcomes a wide range of races and RP skill levels. From the Northern Lands holding word limits suited for beginners to the West for the more advanced, no one is too inexperienced to join in on the fun. With a variety of deities and elemental guardians, kings and nobility to pledge to (or oppose) there is no shortage of roleplaying opportunity. Avalon is full of great members and staff with a great sense of humor, friendly welcomes, and a love for roleplaying. Avalon invites you to experience the magic, today!

’The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.’

The new limit placed on crossbows makes very little sense, for, what would happen were the user to encounter a target at 500m while slowing time with an already loaded crossbow and after firing was noticed and the other person made a long post about how they noticed the person shooting and rushed up the enitre distance using a single post? Would somone using a crossbow only be able to get off a single shot before the distance was closed? If they were using an arbalest and are unskilled at reloading it, that's quite possible, but what if they were using a light crossbow/chu-ko-nu? (Which had a rate of fire of up to 2 bolts a second, but that's without aiming and not including the time it takes to reload the clip when it was emptied) Would they only be capable of a single shot?

It would make sense to use the same standards for crossbows as we use for bows. Use your own initative as to what's realistic. Because, an arbalest with a similar reloading time to a chu-ko-nu seems really weird/wrong to me, and so does the variable reloading times ie: When posts become more focused upon small actions rather than a straight out run it takes but a second to load a crossbow, whereas when posts are something as skipped over as watching someone sleep, doing so can take hours.

I forgot to mention that in order to use ranged weapons of any kind, your character first has to do a small jig on a dead badger, then cut off their own foot with a stale biscuit. This must be repeated every time the character wishes to fire a shot.

Using carcasses as stepping stones.
Not everyone is a weapons expert. The shops are basic for a reason. Just buy a friggin crossbow and RP with it.
