You know what? Here's a suggestion for a few of you. Get. Over. Yourselves. This is not a flame, or something that is to turn into a huge debate, but I'm getting friggin sick of some of you older members throwing your weight around as if just because you've been here longer you deserve more. Firstly, to be frank, I didn't have to 'suck up' for a position unlike half of you. To be honest, I didn't even WANT the position, and just wanted to keep my spells, but since I couldn't unless I got reinstated I just went with that. Proof is with Sir and Carter. Secondly, I don't appreciate how people insult me behind my back and acting anal just because they didn't get crap. Get over it. You were obviously not selected because U R UNFIT. If you have issues with me, state it to me directly and stop looking like cowards. And it's shocking because most of you in that little 'group' do alot more sucking off to each other than I could have ever done to receive a position. Overall, you're only going to cause a separation between members, and not alot of people will be happy at all. I don't go around bitching about people and what they have, I would expect you to grow up and not do the same. I don't even like you, so I don't talk about you or say anything to you. I'm not even in the cbox with you, because I'd frankly rather you just do your own thing and leave me the hell out of it. And I wondered why more people aren't active on a site this big? Hell, it's freakin' obvious now. Quit your crap, stop provoking new members, and leave your ego alone. Because to be honest you having all the shop spells doesn't make you any more better than a fresh out of start newbie, and it's sad that most of the people with all these spells and god mod characters with no flaws or weaknesses rp in such a choppy manner that you have to REREAD THE POST TO UNDERSTAND WTF IS GOING ON. Now, I like alot of older members too. Leala, Andrew, Sharmia, Carter, Den, Sir, Sel, LJ, Rahvin, BD, Ant, Vensint (a little meh sometimes, but still) among others, so I don't appreciate people making me out as some older member hater. I am nice to people who deserve it, or I don't talk to you at all. Stop trying to blame me for causing drama or starting site issues when you yourself bring me up and cause me to react in a manner pissed off. I don't appreciate being flamed and baited for no god damn reason, and would appreciate if you kept your little insecurities to yourself. I'm done, and I would appreciate you be done as well. It's shocking how half of you don't even follow the rules, but you expect some sort of silver platter without even working for what you want. This thread is not a flame, but more so a wake up call. You're going to kill Avalon if you keep this up, and this is maybe why half of the new members that join get so annoyed that they leave a few days later. And you know what, that's exactly why I left. I don't have the time for people to try and start edrama because their epeen hasn't been stroked. I don't have time to sit and listen to you all bawww because I'm getting somewhere and you're not, just because I'm actually contributing in more places than just the site. And you know what, if it makes your little emotions feel better, I probably do suck up and I probably do kiss ass. But look where it's getting me, and where it's getting you. Atleast I have the common courtesy to respect my admins wishes. Now with this resolved, let's move on. Don't talk to me, I won't talk to you. If you have nothing correct to say, don't say anything. It works for me, it can work for you. |

Just pointing out everyone's constant bickering over positions and who gets them is merely proving to the administration that they don't deserve it one bit. By questioning the decision to reinstate him, you're directly questioning the administration you rely on day in and day out to make your roleplay better. Do you doubt them so? Then, why don't you stray off to make your own version of a 'better RP'? No? Then please refrain from making every decision that doesn't somehow promote the 'older guys' some sort of suck up/mistake. I won't dip into the sucking up part because about 90 percent of the people on the box do so on a daily basis to every staff member that shows up. I'm pretty sure they could vouch for me. And what's this attitude against new people? What, did the site close down after a certain point? No...didn't think so. Seniority is not a guarantee to privilege, consideration towards gifts, and automatic skill over others; such things are earned by performance, not how big one's mouth is, or how small their member number is. The responsibility of the older generation is to teach and aid the new, not shun it. Older folk that constantly harass everyone they don't know should be ashamed of their behavior, as they give Avalon as a whole a bad name. I'm surprised the staffers (who I've been told are sick of this behavior) haven't done anything already. Point being is grow up. Some people treat this place like their lives. It's a game, it's meant to be fun, and it's meant to be fun TOGETHER. The sooner you get that, the easier it'll be for all of us. Edited by Fina, Feb 26 2009, 05:06 AM.

Whilst I don't think this is necessarily the best place for the topic, I'll leave it here because if it goes somewhere like General Discussion it will become lost very quickly. Now, Eifel, I happen to agree with what you are saying. The amount of bitching that goes on is obscene and, quite frankly, very irritating. A lot of it is purely down to jealousy. I don't have to name anybody, but there are some people who have applied for positions on multiple occasions and been denied each time. This in itself may be frustrating, but then for a relatively new member to come along and get a position? Well, that's unbelievable! How could it be allowed to happen when the long-time members still don't have any? Seriously, the amount of time you've been here for does not matter one bit. It's about how good a role-player you are, how suitable your character is for the role and, crucially, how you as a role-player would be suitable for holding a position. People need to get this in to their head. Next point. If the staff decide to give somebody a position back, then they have a good reason for it. If you have a problem with it, take it up with us and do it in a polite manner. Screaming, shouting and bitching about it won't get you anywhere. If I see any more fighting over this matter in the Cbox, I will dish out punishments and I should expect that other staff would do the same. Anybody who does wish to discuss it can PM somebody in charge. Finally, you should all (and I do mean all) cut out the whining and focus on role-playing. If you don't like somebody, don't speak to them. End of. |

Aww Suj wasnt a older member liked? Suj thought Suj was nice o.o also if he has beef with anyone its stated to their faces 9/10 Anyway. I dont get why the vets dislike the newbies and vise versa, Suj just says have fun bloody RPing, thats what its about ant it? Suj will RP with anyone pretty much at any time. I enjoy writing and I enjoy having my characters interact with others, specially if I get something out of it (something that changes teh character) Be it good or bad, its all about the story. So Suj says this, write now, whine later. TEH SUJ HAS SPOKEN! =D hate me later too

All you "old members" who are complaining, listen up: If you have real complaints, instead of spreading bitter comments in the c-box your duty is to contact a staff member. If you are wondering about some staff action, for example why something was done, feel free to ask a staff member (in a civilised manner though, whiny complaints will be ignored - we're all over 13 as required by ZB rules and have all hopefully learned the skill of talking in a civil manner). More often than not we will have an answer for you. If you have a problem with the way we deal with things, you come to us, BLUE or GREEN people, and you do not exchange thinly-veiled insults in the c-box, unless you want to get yourself banned (and if you've read the new c-box rules you should be aware that trying to get yourself banned in the c-box will result in a site ban). So, since there are several people who seem to have some kind of problem with certain staff decisions, I should be expecting a flood of (cordial) PMs and/or topics in the Help section.

END OF WHAT? *eye twitches* Anyway; despite what everyone is saying (and thank you for liking me Eifel) they do however raise a point (whether anyone likes it or not) on Eifel's repromotion, and tossing that point aside isn't exactly strapping behaviour from all the lads and lassies here either. I don't have much more to say. Personally I'm fine with Eifel (or anyone really, for that matter), getting a position back. But from my unattached objective viewpoint a reason on behalf of the administration is at least due to the inquiring (if rather pissy) members who brought it up in the first place. ... Hmmm.... It appears everyone is getting upset with these tiny issues popping out. Perhaps more enforcing of teh rules to solve them? Rather, more so, obeying of the rules?
Kind of obscure, like an Admin disgression thing.... I think maybe because of irresponsibility this card needs to start being pulled. *Shrug* I'm not on all that much but it appears the problem crops up. For the record though, last time I was in the CBox under "This Person" and "Putress" I didn't mean any harm by what I was doing and certainly wasn't angry or malicious in my meaning. Loff yew all in an entirely non gay way. <3 |

Topic closed. Once again, even though this probably means nothing, I'm disappointed in all of you. How dare you go on elitist power trips, and think that anyone is better than anyone. We are all people, old or new, and I would think that considering the average age of Avalon is eighteen, you all would be old enough to learn who to deal with people whom you don't like. If you have a problem with an admin, mod, or member, don't act like a five year-old. We should know better than hurling insults at each other, and bickering. Like it or not, there are people in this world who are different from you, and things will not always be happy, lovey dovey. I'd always loved to think of Avalon as an open, welcoming environment. What Avalon is this, where people cannot simply even get along in a small area meant for small talk? You all, and I mean everyone involved (including myself) should be ashamed of yourselves and your actions. I know that I am. |

I wouldn't say i'm at all ashamed. To those of you that joke and mess around and try to have fun, hell ya, more power to you. That's what I was always thinking about the CBox, rather, that's how it always used to be. Tiny little games, fun little debates, talking about RPs, making RPs, or etc... Def not a good place to talk about people, and I suppose I made a mistake taking a dudes name. Even though I let people know it was me afterwards... Ashamed though, don't know so much about that. How can one be ashamed of attempting to kid on an internet forum where people pursue their interests in writing, thus making friends, joining a community, all in the spirit of developing a hobby and having fun. |

Oh quit whining and get over yourselves. The admin are at the point where we are about to get rid of the cbox altogether because all the majority of people do is fight and bitch. If you don't like each other, shut up. If you have a problem with what the admin do, talk to them about it IN A POLITE RESPONSIBLE MATTER. As for 'I was just having fun'. Just remember in the future who doesn't have the same sense of humor as you and don't push those people anymore. Drop all the little personal squabbles, stop acting like three year olds and go RP on a fucking RP site! |

Before people take the whining further, remember that some peoples' idea of a bit of fun is to mess about with the Cbox word filters, changing words and, particularly, members' names in to things they find amusing. We've all done that (that does include me), not everybody likes it. Peoples' senses of humour differ massively, so one person's idea of fun certainly won't be another's. Just remember that one. |
