The sun shone down brightly, high up in the sky, illuminating the bountiful multi-colored wildflowers of Faerl Field. Lodd Sinter's scarlet hair gave off a glow as he trudged towards the field, turning to Faerl Field as his first destination on his ambition-inspired trip. There was no noticeable evidence of a supplies or a carrying bag at all on him, besides a small money pouch. He looked like he ventured so far from his hometown, Kinley, just on a spur of the moment, betting on luck he would find a town near that had reasonably priced foods. Kinley's citizens didn't give much of a tip to the single bartender in town, considering they were normally drunk before they even arrived or only came for a bar fight or two. The sound of jingling coins rung out from the pouch on Lodd's belt as he walked across the fields, sniffing the glorious aroma of the seemingly limitless field of wildflowers. The smell was almost enough to make Lodd want to collapse in the field and wallow around in the wonderful scent, wishing to replace his earthy stench with something more refreshing. Lodd's brown tunic quivered ever so slightly in the warm, summer breeze, his leggings feeling a little less itchy than normal as he faded from reality. Once again, he slipped into a daydream, images of himself living in a small, neat cottage in this sweet-scented field for the rest of his days. The images continued flashing before his dilated pupils, showing him around his eighties, flourishing open a small wooden door and hobbling out with a knobby old cane. He raised his flaring nostrils to the open air and embraced the lovely aroma of the wildflowers. And this is where Lodd's imagination took over. Clouds appeared above, dark clouds, and the cottage and knobby cane disappeared. The elderly Lodd was replaced with a younger version of himself in a nice set of shining armor. A stallion neighed underneath his weight, equipped with the best warhorse armor in the region. Shining Lodd shot his hands up, which held impressive dual blades, and burst off in the direction a giant, black tower. The swirling black clouds seemed to be shooting out from this tower, a source of evil any being could identity that had ever read a fairytale. Lodd was thrown violently back into reality as he found himself falling over into the flowers, that idea of wallowing in the flowers sub-consciously taking over. Then, he gave in, rolling around like the four year old he had once been before his parents had been ripped from him, before he had witnessed the mauling of two children, and before he ever set foot from the safety of Kinley, his birthplace. Ever since Memnoch has been able to put his collar on with out his body spasming and haveing a fit. He ran through the flowers. He would sit down and smell them and pick them. When he saw a man walking around he flattend him self to the ground scared. Last time he had seen any kind of person and sin wasnt around he had gotten hurt. Then the man stopped and started sniffing around. Memnoch was really scared then. Maybe the man was looking for him or somthing. He was probly trying to kill sin for something he did. Memnoch almost started to cry. Then the man fell and started rolling around. Memnoch didnt know what to do. The man might be hurt or having that weird thing and start spasming and die. "AHH!" Lodd exclaimed, jumping up from his former rolling position on the ground. Having been sent out of his reverie, he was puzzled and frightened by the sight of another person here so suddenly. Have I been on the ground? Lodd asked himself in his mind. He shrugged the thought off with a slight shiver, and braced himself for any attacks. Lodd was now regretting his former chance of taking that club Ms. Bovrin had offered him back in Kinley - it would've served him some amount of protection. But he just had to get prideful and now look where he was, stuck in a possibly dangerous situation with no equipment besides his common wares. Lodd took a few nervous steps backwards, deciding he would have to go to his hybrid form if this person attacked him. But the voice that came from him didn't sound intimidating or angry - Lodd even caught a hint of fear in this one. Hm... Lodd thought to himself, smiling snidely. I could have some fun with him, or I could be nice. Meh, I'll be nice. The Werefox's snide smile disappeared and was replaced by a cheery, close-eyed grin. "So, what are you here for?" Lodd asked in a friendly tone. He wasn't one for approaching others in conversation, but since this guy was the only one here and staying silent would awkward for the both of them, he decided that making the first move was best. Thrusting out his hand for a handshake, Lodd thought fervently of what he would do if he was attacked, if the fear in the guy's voice was merely a charade for a later ambush. Just in case, Lodd got ready to perform rib kick if the need arose. Inside, Lodd's animal instincts were telling him not to trust this person, but Lodd just couldn't understand why. He seemed nearly afraid of his own shadow and unless the dude was a professional actor, Lodd was almost sure he wasn't faking. But Lodd was one for trusting his animal instincts over his spirit in most cases. Here's a tip to the wise: Don't even bother trying to fool The Lodd's instincts. It isn't worth it. You'll end up dead, scarred, stalked, or worse - AND YES, there is much worse when it comes to Lodd Sinter, slick fox boy. |

I hate…flowers… His dislike for the otherwise natural element of beauty that mother nature often blesses this planet with would stem mainly from his inconsistency in relationships throughout his life thus far. He’d identify the plant as a direct symbol of love, and often correlated their blooming to his failure. Needless to say other couples would become a bothersome sight as well, especially during a public display of love, but fortunately for the wandering demon, he’d been successful as avoiding such social constricts. At the moment he’d wander these fields with great regret in his stride, leather bound feet stomping on the various colorful creations as an ogre’s grimace was worn. Despite his hate, he’d have no problem leaving this place if it weren’t for the contact he was supposed to meet soon enough; a damnation would now be shot out at his timely demeanor. Nonetheless, he’d aim to make the best out of the situation. His soured expression would die down somewhat as he let his head swivel around, occasionally closing his eyes so that only the wonderful breeze could be enjoyed. It was certainly refreshing, even if it was laced in that horrible, aromatic scent. If he had to wait for a while, at least he’d scan this area well, making sure no surprises awaited to pounce upon his unsuspecting self. He was doing a business deal afterwards; it wasn’t rare for dealings of the darkness guild to go south. The greed of man was often far too strong for control to handle, as Fina had often times found himself on the other side of an incoming dagger. He’d felled them all off before, but he would never cease to be surprised. As such, erring on the side of caution would never be a bad idea. After his brief interjection with the realm of day dreaming, his eyes shot wide and brought its user back to reality. A few voices nearby would be the first thing he’d take note, and once he fully confirmed the two approaching figures, he’d being to analyze his possible responses. They could’ve been killers, hired by the man he was meeting so that Fina could be silenced. Or they could’ve been guards sent by Astrid herself. Or they could just be random people… I won’t intervene yet, then… The watchful eye was kept trained on them, a crouched figure brining under the grass once successfully concealed for the most part. Let the eavesdropping begin. |

[Hey, we're gonna cut Sin since he's been inactive.] Lodd heard the sound of rustling flowers, his animal hearing kicking in, and swiveled around to see a figure crouching in the grass, apparently trying to ambush. He took a few steps back and glared down the man, wishing he could be left alone in peace, for once since he'd began his journey. What was most peculiar was that this man was attempting concealing himself in the wildflowers, which were only around a foot high each. What an idiot. "What are you doing down there?" Lodd said with a slight smark, snideness sifting from his mouth. The words dripped off his tongue, followed by a creepy laugh. "If it's a fight you want, you could just have been polite and asked. It's not nice creeping on others." Lodd stared the man down with a piercing chestnut leer. If the need arose, he would transform into his hybrid form, since he had no weapon on his person as of currently... Unless this man was afraid of flowers. Afraid of flowers... Lodd snickered in his mind. In fact, Lodd felt a bit frisky right now, ready for a fight. It'd be his first fight of the journey. Lodd briskly picked up a wildflower from where he stood, keeping a watchful eyes on the man, and stared at him over the petals. Surprisingly, Lodd was in a good mood - odd for one who had come so close to having been jumped. Foxes rule. Lodd thought to himself, marveling at his fox hearing. Taking his eyes of the man for a moment, Lodd stared over to the horizon, the sun floating above it just a bit, signaling sunset was getting near, and that meant that the night was soon to follow. Lodd wondered how this place was at night. Maybe spirits came out, or monsters emerged from the woods off in the distance. Just then, Lodd felt a tugging on his ankle, and punched downwards instinctively. The punch hit nothing but air, the man still in the flowers, crouched down. The pulling got stronger, and suddenly Lodd felt himself being pulled into the ground. Wildflowers around him made awful screeching noises that pierced his sensitive ears as he was dug into the ground. Now Lodd hated his sensitive ears. |

[Sorry, braindead] Though the tall grass around him had surpassed his formidable height and thus appeared to cover him well, the silly little man choosing not too long ago to rub himself along the flowers had now engaged Fina in a shouting match. A childish accusation would follow soon after, and although the demon would have hoped for some sort of relaxed, casual explanation, it would seem violence would have the last laugh. Finding to have no choice, the crimson coated youth would step forward now, a stoic expression worn as he took a few steps out from his hiding spot and onto plane view. He’d leave his weapon checked for now, the need for such extreme measures yet to have been felt. The lunatic before him was intriguing indeed, his shifting emotions proving to be a rather difficult read for the self proclaimed astute. Would he attack? Would he run? Who was this guy!? A sigh escaped his mouth midst his frustration, and although he feared his following words would have no effect, he’d nonetheless proclaim them in a heavy tone. “…are you out of your mind???” The question ended in an incredulous tone, Fina emitting a death glare as he remained in his erect stance. A good twenty feet still existed between the two, plenty of room to adjust to any attack the man could potentially play out. He’d adopt a loose stance, ready to react to any violence if needed. |
