It only took a few seconds for those pirate to overtake the few guards on the ship, and to make all the passengers gather up on deck. "You're nothing but bunch of brigands!" yelled someone yelling out of turn, who got a good kick in the chest. Morte, who came along for the ride because the captain needed an extra laborer, was smart enough to shut up. Or rather, he was too busy reading a book about proper ship care to bother the pirates.

He was sitting on the deck like everyone else was while pirate came around to look for anything of value, rings and the like. A pirate poked down his book with a cutlass, "You got anything of value on ya?" Morte shook his head and went back to his book, "Nope, just these robes and this book, and i dont think the book is of any use to you." He glanced at the pirate again, the pirate had more eyes then teeth, and he was wearing an eyepatch...

The lavender-haired girl was suddenly grateful for her horns. They happened to fall before her eyes in just the perfect spot to save her from the suns brightness today. Her ship had just overtaken another, and she had sent the others to retrieve anything of value. She was grateful for her state of authority. It allowed her to be lazy.

She was sitting on the side of their ship and overlooking their thievery as she noted a male that seemed unfazed by the pirates around him stealing things. He was.. reading? She wished she could. She hopped down and crossedthe boarding planks over to the other ship. She had to know what his deal was.

She approached the male. He seemed rather clean. She watched him read for a moment as one of her subordinates left his space. Stepping forward, she began to speak to him in her most authoritative voice. She may be small, but she tried her best to be intimidating. "What the hell are you doing?"

He couldn't quite concentrate on his book with all the racket those surly pirates where making, but he was at least happy the toothless pirate left to go bother more passengers. Another pirate walked up to him and was staring him up and down, he glanced up at them, to find that they were a woman.

He smiled and clapped his book closed, he put his elbow on his knee and rested his cheek on his hand. "Reading a book miss." Thats when a cloud covered the sun, so that Morte could see the pirate's large horns, he tried to hide his surprise.

The sun began to lessen and she looked back a bit. He seemed to have noticed her horns, and like everyone else, seemed to try to hide his surprise and interest in them. Her eyes narrowed and she rolled them a bit. "I know what you're doing, I just want to know why." She sighed and watched as few of the pirates were left. It seemed there was not as much to take on this ship as they had expected. That was rather disappointing.

She returned her gaze to the male before her. He seemed nicely dressed and she only wished she could read the title of his book. He was confusing her a lot. He wasn't even fighting for anything. So strange. She stood awkwardly for a moment, shifting her weight from one side to another. "We just robbed your ship," she scratched inside her left boot, "and you're reading a book."

Morte shook his head, "Well what else is there to do, I cant fight you, and for that matter why fight for anything thats not mine?" He shrugged. "This isnt my ship, and i dont know anyone aboard, there's nothing of mine to take from, so all you've done for me is slow down my trip."

He laughed a little, "Added a bit of excitement to the cruise though, i must say that." He outstretched his hand, "My name's Morte by the way."

She supposed she understood now. Why care about what isn't yours? And damn right he couldn't fight them. And whatever trip he was talking about was about to be cut off. He sure as hell wouldn't be hitching a ride with them. They weren't scheduled to land ashore for at least three months.

"Yes we tend to add a lot of excitement." Her face was stoic as she spoke of even excitement. "And I'm Mab." She took his hand and gave it a light shake before retracting it and placing both hands in her pockets. She tapped her boot on the wood of the ship. They'd be done soon, and they would leave this guy alone on an empty ship in the middle of the ocean. Now that would be exciting.

"Where were you headed anyway?" She posed her question as she watched several men returning to their ship. She waved that she wold be done soon and took a slow step back, stopping to hear his answer.

Morte was surprised by the pirates light shake, you'd expect a bit more power in the shake from a pirate. "I was heading to a small fishing town in the northern lands, there's a book collector there that i wanted to trade with." Morte said, waving his book.

The woman seemed nice enough for a woman who had killed a man just a few moments earlier. By the looks of it the pirates were done looting the place of anything of value, leaving little food and water left. "Well, i suppose that's your cue to leave Mab, it was nice to meet you despite the circumstances." He looked around at the expansive ocean, "You'd best get going, the navy see you they'll hang you, and i would truely hate to see you hanging from the docks in Avalon city one day..."

He sighed and put away his book in the folds of his robes, he looked around at the other passengers, dead and gutted. He must've been poor enough to not be bothered with, but just in case this pirate decided to try something, he tensed his body up under the robes, ready to pounce. With his robes, his preparation would be invisible.

Their task completed, the pirates would move to leave the now almost empty ship, a mere shell now that it had been emptied of anything of value. The small pirate raised a hand before beginning to walk off.

"I guess it is. Meeting you was alright as well. And me getting caught is rather unlikely. I'd just say I was a hostage."

She smiled. Female pirates? Pff. They'd believe her. She made her move to return to her own ship, boots clacking on the wood as she walked briskly. Soon she'd be back in the comforts of her room, hopefully Sozen would be through with whatever it was he had to do. She could really go for a nice lay-down at the moment, and he was just the person she wanted it to be with.

Once on the plank, her walk turned to a run, and soon she was standing on her own ship as the plank would begin to be removed. She wouldn't look back.

Morte nodded, female pirates, most armies usually thought only a man could put a blade through their hearts. They all learned the hard way soon enough... Morte pushed himself up and looked around the deck of the ship.

It was stained with blood and covered with bodies, with him being the only one spared. Why? He may never know. Never the less, he had to find his own way back to shore, it was all up to him now. He cracked his knuckles and cracked his back.

Now, which was was the shore.... Morte looked around at the open sea, the only other thing in his sight being a slowing disappearing ship on the horizon fat with the plunder of the unfortunate. The shore was nowhere in site, just perfect...
