[[OOC: Sorry it took me so long, everyone. This post is for anyone that is interested in joining the ranks of Drystan's inner circle of do-gooders or becoming a follower. So come on in. :) No evil allowed. ]]

Drystan sighed, his boots scraping against the bare flagstones as he paced his inner chambers. He downed the last of the wine in his goblet, setting it down before he returned to pacing.

He caught his passing reflection in the mirror and stopped to inspect himself yet again, adjusting his collar and smoothing away the wrinkles in his robes. He’d dressed rather formally in a white shirt and a muted purple surcoat, shaved as cleanly as possible, and combed any tangles from his silky locks. On the outside, he was as poised as the highest king, as handsome and composed as any prince should be; his sturdy build and proud posture lent him a look of the strongest general, his eyes shimmering with a deeper power that far exceeded that of any mortal, royal or not.

He let his gaze fall from the mirror, another faint sigh escaping his lips as he examined his hands and straightened his shirtsleeves. He stroked his calloused palms with his fingertips, thumbing over the thick blisters and signs of manual labor that seemed so out of place with the rest of his stately appearance. The humble, hard work of the blacksmith- That was the closest thing to what could truly make him happy. That, and protecting his friends and family, though that duty was gone now, along with everyone he had cared for.

His own reflection had been strangely unfamiliar to him- He hadn’t yet settled into this new life, this new identity. He had never stood alone before, not like this; this immortal power, this supreme lordship- He’d never really wanted any of it.. Perhaps he was not meant for the simple peace and rest he so longed for underneath everything else…Perhaps that was the very reason the greater powers had seen fit to give him it, gift him his charge, the command of this divine kingdom all his own.

He’d been thrust into this position without much choice in the matter, and he’d done his best so far to do anything in his power to become more competent in his godhood. He’d read and traveled, but he no longer wanted to be alone. With each passing day, more would hear of him, enemies of the forces of light and hinderers of justice included. He’d sent invitations far and wide, made himself known across the land- There was a new god of justice now, and he was calling for followers.

Drystan took one last look at himself before venturing out into the courtroom, striding confidently across the white marble tiles as he faced the door and waited. The hall was silent now, but for the faint crackling of the blazing fires on either side of the raised dais on which his throne perched. The only movement besides the gentle sway of his own robes lay in the shadows the flickering torches cast upon the walls, dancing between the corners and bringing to the life the stone figures of the great upholders of justice that lined the walls.

Let them come. Let Justice be done.

Every Rose has its Thorn.....
Thorn walked into the temple(?) of the new god. She had heard of him from some villagers in the last town her and her sister had entered. As she walked into it she smiled, it was pretty. The quiet of the place made her think of peace. That was good, this was after all the home of the god of justice. Peace was a good thing. She looked back towards her sister who had been following her quietly... too quietly.

"Rose? Is everything alright?" She asked as she slowed down to walk beside her sister. She pushed a few loose strands of her golden hair behind her ear, and smiled caringly at her sister.

"Yeah, Thorn.... I'm okay.... just nervous.... I've never met a god before," Rose whispered taking her sister's hand. She looked around at the beautiful interior of the temple. Her normally happy, hyper nature quieted with nervousness.

Thorn laughed, "It'll be alright. He is the god of justice, that means he won't do anything cruel......" She scowled, "But.... I wonder if he is snobby......" Thorn shrugged, "Oh well... Don't worry about it, okay? I won't let nothing bad happen to you...."

Rose smiled, and her face shone with its usual light yet again. "Thanks, Thorn, you always know how to cheer me up..." She let go of her sister's hand and giggled, running ahead. "I'm gonna meet him first!" She said playfully.

Thorn rolled her eyes and laughed, following behind her sister slowly. She saw her sister standing still looking towards the front of the room they had entered. "Rose, what is i-?" She stopped and looked towards the front of the room. She saw a man standing there who was.... well, downright gorgeous. She laughed softly at herself. This must be that new god. Thorn took a step forward and curtseyed slightly, her head bowed, but her eyes not leaving him. "Pardon me, sir, would you happen to be the new god everyone is talking about?"

Still fresh from battle, Eyrekra took a knee in the small temple. She was lost in prayer, so deep was her mind that she didn't notice the initiates rushing around trying to clean up the blood before it stained the marble floors. She had fought hard to rid these lands of the evil that surrounded the temple. She had tried to keep the tide of Daemons from entering this holy place, but their power seem to steam from hell it's self. She was able to push back the vile creatures long enough for the Priest to re-sanctify the temple grounds.

Eyrekra was sure that the new blessing would hold long enough for her to meet this new God, or at least she hoped it would. She was tired from battle, yet she knew she had to go and meet the new God of Justice, Drystan. Yes Drystan sounds like he would be willing to help. He may send a few warrior to help clear the lands. Better yet, maybe he would come himself. Either way she was going to plead her case and see just what this new God could do.

In haste she flew to his palace. She had not taken time to change her clothes nor time to comb the blood soaked knots from her hair. In fact she was a down right mess, as she stormed into the Courtroom. She was set on seeing him, and no one was going to stop her.

Once in the Courtroom she was awe struck by his mere presence. Even with all her piss, and vinegar she could not help but stop and notice... well notice him. She stopped dead in her tracks, and looked down at herself. For the first time she noticed the blood that still clung to her hammer, the mess that her hair was in, and the stains that covered her clothes. She knew now that her temper was doing nothing to help her cause, and that she was only disrespecting a God she had not meet yet, by coming into his Courtroom looking like a... well looking like she did.

Eyrekra quickly turned and headed for the door. She would return after she had a chance to clean up, and make herself more presentable.

Vincent took a long drink of water, it was hard work climbing the mountain. Once at the top he pulled the invitation he had found from under his chest plate. The God Drystan must have wanted him to come, must of wanted him to join his group, after all he had an invitation.

Vincent smiled at the ferryman as he tried to find the two coins he would need to pay once he got to the other side. As they crossed Vincent filled his water skin from the lake. He had the look of a Mercenary rather then that of a Paladin. He was unshaven and his hands were blistered and worn from swing his hammer. He was battling against fence post, and doing odd jobs to pay for a good meal and a place to sleep, on his travels to the Temple. For Vincent it was a long way to walk, but he was sure that it would all be worth the effort once he stood in the presence of the God of Justice. Once he had a chance to meet Drystan. He looked in the reflection of the lake, and was glad that his family was able to buy his simple yet matching armor. It consist of head gear, Chest plate cloth gloves, leggings and soft leather boots. He smiled at himself, or was it more like laughing at himself. He splashed at his reflection and got the ferryman wet. He quickly apologized, and sat still the rest of the trip.

Once on the other shore Vincent gave the ferryman three coins and apologized once again. He turned and made his way towards the trees. Vincent finally made it to the gardeners that surrounded the temple. He was awe struck by the sheer size, and beauty of the temple. Now Vincent was doubting his abilities to serve a God like Drystan. Would he be good enough? That was the question haunting the back of his mind. Well its to late to turn back. You traveled all this way you might as well finish the journey. These were the worlds he heard back from that little corner of his mind that would not let him give up on himself.

Vincent crossed the gardens and went up the stairs. He pushed on the doors that open into the Courtroom. He had to sidestep to keep from being plowed over by a female angel, who looked to be in a great hurry to leave. He could feel Drystan presence without even have laid eyes on him. He looked around the room and saw a pair beautiful yet strange being stand in the Courtroom, it was only a guess, but they looked to be sisters.

Once Vincent laid eyes on Drystan he fell to his knees.

"Oh great Drystan I am unworthy to follow you. You have but to ask, and I will do thy bidding. Lord thy will be done."

Thorn turned to face the newcomer. She listened to his words, and smiled. He had answered her question for her. Thorn looked towards her sister who was slowly moving towards the newcomer.

"Rose," she whispered. "Leave the man alone...."

Rose seemed to ignore her as she walked closer she seemed amazed. "Are... are you a human?" Rose whispered softly, her face showing intrigue and curiousity.

Thorn rolled her eyes. "Rose.... I am sure he doesn't want you bothering him.... he came to see the new god same as us, don't annoy him."

Rose looked back towards her sister, her eyes pouting. "But Thorn....."

Thorn cast her a scolding gaze and Rose looked back towards the man. "I'm sorry if I annoyed you, sir...." Rose turned and headed back towards her sister slowly, casting looks over her shoulder at the man.

Vincent was still stunned by the presents of Drystan, that at first he did not notice the beautiful creature who was addressing him.

Her softly whispered question seem to pound in his brain. It was that question that broke the spell he was under caused by the God Drystan.

Vincent turned to address the beautiful being. " Rose is it? Your name, that is it right? Please don't leave. Your not a bother at all. To answer your question yes I am a human, and it took quite a long time to reach this temple. I have to ask. Am I still in 'Avalon' or did I die to reach this place?"

Eyrekra walked across the garden and for the first time she noticed the beauty of the gardens that surrounded the temple. She walked through the woods then made it to the lake's shore line.

She looked into the lake, she looked worse then she thought she did. She took off her pack and her clothes and entered into the lake. The water was cold and sent shivers up and down her body. She washed her hair and the rest of her body before anyone could see what she was doing.

Once done with bathing she got out of the water, and let her body dry in the sun. She got herself dressed in the clean white robe from her pack. She washed her armor before putting it back on. She combed her hair with her fingers and stated back towards the temple, with pack in tow.

This time as she walked into the garden grounds she sat on one of the benches to rein in her thoughts. It was not long before she was ready. She placed her pack on the bench and headed back into the Courtroom and back into the presents of Drystan.

He turned as the door creaked open and the faint patters of tiny footsteps echoed through the silent hall. He was a little surprised to see his first guests were two young women, fair haired sisters by the looks of them, each sparsely clothed with tattered wings. They were forest dwellers as far as he could tell- their appearances matched the description of the faeries the god had read about but never rightfully seen. He watched them with interest as they approached, anxiously swaying where he stood as he tried not to keep eye contact with them too long before they reached him, whispering excitedly to one another. He smiled in bemusement, wondering if the two even knew of the meeting here, or whether they had merely stumbled in from the cold by accident. And he had been expecting warriors. Drystan smiled gently at the first girl's childish approach and the second's delicate curtsy, trying his best not to laugh at the two. It wasn't that they had done anything wrong, it was just that they were quite the opposite of what he'd been expecting.

"Indeed I am, miss,” Drystan replied, nodding politely towards the girl. “Welcome.” He opened his mouth to ask why the two had come, but another had already rushed in before he could speak; she was an angel without a doubt, another unearthly creature he’d never laid mortal eyes on before. He was as stunned by her bloodstained clothes and weapons as he was by her sudden appearance, though she fled as quickly as she had come, leaving him no time to even greet her. He stood alone once more with the two faeries, stunned into silence for a few moments before yet another visitor broke it.

The newcomer looked rather rugged and travel-worn, decidedly out of place in Drystan’s majestic hall. Still, the young man possessed a hidden elegance of his own, and his dark eyes burned with the intensity of a wild beast. The god almost jumped back when the boy practically threw himself at his feet, hardly able to look him in the eye it seemed as he knelt before him. The youth’s words stunned him, both with their sincerity and that tinge of submission Drystan had never been quite comfortable with, even from his own squire during his knighthood. Again, he remained silent as the sisters talked in whispered voices with the new arrival until he inquired whether he had died to reach this place.

“You’re still very much alive, good sir,” Drystan answered with a chuckle, glancing admirably around the room as he spoke. “I’m rather fond of this place myself, but it is no heaven.” He smiled warmly again, placing his hand on the boy’s shoulder to bid him to rise. “Humility is certainly a virtue, but you needn’t kneel. We are both servants, you and I- Justice knows no king. If your word is honorable, you are more than worthy to follow me.”

“And you two,” he continued, turning to the young women standing beside them. “I’d just as easily welcome your fealty. Or if you’ve come for another reason, I’ll offer you what help I can- But that can wait. Come, make yourselves at home.”

Drystan beckoned the three farther into the hall, motioning them to wait there for a moment as he disappeared into the next chamber to remerge, easily carrying a small table and balancing enough chairs and more on his shoulders. He set them down in front of the group, pouring them each a glass of dark wine from a pitcher before gesturing for them to join him and forgoing his throne to take a seat himself.

“I have no servants or attendants here as of yet. I’ve managed so far with just myself, though I could use a hand or two around here…I must say I was expecting a different turnout, but I’m pleased all of you same just the same. We’ll have to wait for the others. What were your names again?” he asked, taking a sip of his wine as he positioned himself more comfortably in his chair. “I’m afraid we’ve been interrupted too often to get that far yet.”

She had slipped in quietly and unnoticed, her red dress dragging a little behind her. Quickly she made herself blend into the group of people around her and listened to the conversations unfold. The chatter around her seemed rather...comforting to her ears, the voices of people, something she had almost forgotten in her time...'away'. As the god spoke his part to the curious bunch Morgaine stood and listened to him. He was young but he was wise all the same. She stood for justice more then anyone knew. She agreed, justice served no kings nor queens for that matter. Justice was pure and if done properly virtuous.

As everyone moved around to make themselves at home she approached Drystan and offered her hand like any good lady of the court. Grabbing her skirt she lifted it up a little going into a bow. Not one you would give to a king or god, but one given out of respect. She believed no god wanted their follower to grovel beneath them like worms. A followers glory and grace gave the god a good appearance. It the followers were strong and fell on knee to no one then the god came off as extraordinarily powerful.

"Sorry I was late in arriving my lord. It has been awhile since last I traveled these lands. It took me some time to find my way around once again." Morgaine always forgot her name thinking that people would recognize her face but it had been so long since her face was one in many memories. She would have given him her name once she had realized she forgot to mention it, but she was going to run a test on him rather then say it out load.

If he could find her name without her mouth muttering it then she would surly be impressed and this god would surly have her serious. She was never one to pledge her loyalty away blindly, rather she wanted to know where ones abilities lay before jumping into serious. After all she was the Lady Le Fay, nothing with her was easy or simple or straight forward. There was always something more to her and the things she did and said. Something you had to dig for to understand.

Her brown eyes meet with his and she stood tall and proud, if Avalon needed her again for some reason then it was best to place yourself with the gods. They always had a funny way of knowing things others didn't. Not only that but it was only appropriate the Lady be associated with such things as virtue and justice. It was in good nature to do so.

Thorn looked to her sister trying to see exactly how Rose would react. She didn't seem too excited... but, with Rose you never knew....

"Yes, sir... my name is Rose, and that," she said pointing at Thorn. "Is my sister, Thorn. Don't worry about her, she is a little serious sometimes....."

Thorn rolled her eyes, and turned when she heard the new god speak. His voice was beautiful. Thorn bowed her head, "My sister and I thank you for your hospitality."

When Drystan brought the chairs, Rose looked down at the mortal. "Come on... it is rude not to sit at a table when such pleasure is offered...." The two faeries walked silently towards the table, and Rose thanked Drystan as she sat down.

Thorn watched her sister carefully, making sure she minded her manners. Rose had a way of... forgetting such things when she was excited. "My name is Thorn, sir, and this is my sister, Rose.... If you don't mind my asking, what is your name, sir?"

Vincent heard the words of Drystan and rose slowly after the God placed his hand on his shoulder, and bid him rise.

The invitation from Rose to sit at the table was as welcomed as sunshine, and so was Roes' beautiful smile. Vincent fallowed without question, as if under a spell still. Once he got to the table the spell was broken, his self imposed silence was also broken. "My name is Vincent De' Leon my lord."

Vincent laughed and carried on with the two fairies sisters and the God Drystan. So much so that at first he did not notice the Lady dressed in red, yet once he saw her splendor, he wondered how it was possible he missed her.

Her face was not known to him, but he could not help the feeling he knew her or of her. Her presence set off something deep inside of him, something from his early childhood. It was there, but Vincent could not quite bring it to the surface. He let it play in the back of his mind as he went back to talking to the two sisters.

"I'm afraid I forgot to introduce myself even though I'm your host," Drystan replied apologetically, setting down his drink on the table beside him after taking a small sip. He'd merely assumed everyone knew him by name, but then again, even he made mistakes sometimes. "There are those that call me otherwise, but you may call me Drystan, as our Vincent here rightly has; A pleasure to meet you, miss Rose, miss Thorn, and no less to you, sir," he added, nodding to his guests in turn. He took another sip of rich wine, finally beginning to feel comfortable in his position of gentle authority amongst these well-behaved strangers. They were no children, that was for sure, though none of them seemed quite full grown either, and it gave him the strangest feeling he'd somehow been tricked into babysitting.

He turned towards the door, suddenly aware of another presence that had been there for some time, though he'd been too engaged with his other visitors to take full notice until now. She'd come in silently, her crimson skirts almost floating above the floor as she made her slow approach. He rose from his chair to greet her, taking her hand when she offered it to him and kissing it lightly before releasing her. He was enraptured by the lady's presence more than her appearance, a confidence stronger and more dignified even than his own. He felt out of place suddenly, as if this was her hall, and he the visitor. He studied her patiently as he listened, her voice deep and solemn as she spoke.

"Forgive me, I feel I should know you, my lady," he began cautiously, racking his brain to recall if he'd ever seen her before. "We haven't met, have we?" He knew he was missing something, and his prying eyes finally settled on the crescent moon tattooed on her forehead- something about that symbol triggered something he'd remembered reading- The mark of a high priestess of Avalon. His eyes widened- It couldn't be...

"She left us," he said softly in disbelief, searching her face for any acknowledgment. "Years ago...The Lady left our shores, vanished through the mists...I was unaware any of the sacred sisterhood still lived."

He make no assumption as to her identity, though something within him told him the impossible. The Lady's true tale was unclear, her identity shrouded in the legend she'd become in her absence, her story and that of the lands beyond twisted and reworked by every poet and bard across Avalon; he'd read very little he'd taken to be fact in the few trustworthy accounts he could find, but nearly every version ended in tragedy. He waited patiently for her to explain herself, for the moment denying with all his logic the intuition that the mysterious stranger standing before him was indeed the great fabled Morgana Le Fay.

Calmly this time Eyrekra entered into the Courtroom. The time she spent in the gardens helped her gather herself.

She looked around the Courtroom and saw the two sisters and the human talking at a table which had a few more open chairs. See looked to the God Drystan and saw he was busy talking to a beautiful woman dressed in red.

Eyrekra knew she would have to wait her turn, so she walked over to the table to introduce herself. She hoped that these beings at the table would one day be held as good friends.

"Greetings to all my name is Eyrekra Da' Waelkyrige"

Eyrekra reached and filled one of the empty glasses on the table. She raised her glass and exclaimed.

"To Drystan, the God of Justice."

She bowed slightly as he asked if he knew her. With a smile on her face she replied, "I would find it quite impossible that we had meet before this day my lord." As he mutter to himself she let her smile grow. She was impressed by him. He certainly knew his history as well as many other things. "Well the sisterhood is dead for the most part or so I know of, save a few girls who cling to it like lycan to the stone."

She respected this god, his was a worthy being of high power and wisdom. Something worthy of respecting. "Yes my lord what you assume is correct. I am Lady Morgaine Le Fay daughter of Igrane, child of the isles and sister to the Pendragon house." Again she bowed before him knowing he had passed his test and he had done it with haste. Not a headstrong boy nor a man pretending to be of power but a true king of the heavens.

"I am honored and humble to be before you Lord Drystan. What words are said among the world are truly true for you are wise and noble as any king and beyond. I would be honored if you chose me to be your servant my Lord. For weather you know it or not you had play in Avalon’s choice to bring me from the grave and let me cross the mists. I owe my happiness to you."

She smiled up at him with her bright beautiful eyes looking into his. Turning to the others she made her way to the group and nodded her head to each person before her. She was rather quiet when it came to a social collection which she would call this and therefore could think of nothing to say. She did hope they would not take it as rudeness but she was never strong at starting up a conversation.

Vincent smiled at Eyrekra as she introduced herself.

He raised his glass and joined her in the toast to Drystan. As he refilled his glass, he stated a conversation with the lovely Angel.

"So you are the lovely creature that almost ran me down when I entered earlier. I am Vincent De' Leon and I am glad to meet you. As for the other I will let them introduced themselves."

Vincent quickly pointed to the two fairies, and then made an inviting motion to the woman dressed in the long flowing red dress. The Courtroom seemed to be fill with quite an interesting collection of beings.
