Lahcza nodded when Jackal asked if Lydia looked trustworthy. It was true that there was just something about her that made him feel that she was. He wasn't sure what it was exactly, but it was true.

He was glad, very glad, when he heard that Lady Lydia would help, in fact, he couldn't help but smile. "I thank you Lady Lydia. In fact, I'm sure all of Wonder will thank you." Lahcza then watched as she ran off to the hut, and to see someone names Sid it seemed. He decided to follow her to meet this Sid, but before making it to the hut she stopped in her tracks, with a hand over her heart. He wondered if something was wrong for a moment but then she got back up and started running again, he supposed she was alright. He then followed her into the hut.

Once inside, he saw the one who he assumed was Sid, since Lady Lydia threw her arms around him as she said his name. Lahcza then looked around the inside the hut and there were two more people here. He didn't say anything yet however, as he had no words in his mind.

As everyone gathered in the hut the witch continued what she had meant to say earlier. Handing Lydia a dagger she said, "Here, you can not wander the world without a weapon. It is far to dangerous." Scratching her chin she tilted her head a little, "So my dear you have a key with you then...hold it close to your heart for it is all that is left of her world. That last fragment of hope. So long as it is carried by one of good intent it can never be corrupted. The journey will be dangerous, and Red will stop at nothing to destroy you and your friends. All of you I assume will help her, it is a journey she can not do on her own. The only way out of here...is to kill the queen, I am afraid their is no other way. Balance must be restored for the gateways to swing both ways once again. White must be restored to the throne."

Lydia took the dagger, she had a bad feeling about something, like something inside her was changing, more then just the Shadower side of her going away. She was changing more then she could say. Jackal moved forward a little confused, "Restore white, the White Queen is dead, and she had no daughters to pass her power on to."

The old witch nodded her head, "Ah yes, but Jackal remember, in her death she promised that she herself would return and bring peace to the land again. That she would act as someone innocent and without power to prove to her sister that it was never her own power that made this world strong, but the power of her people who had loved her so much. Our noble and beautiful queen will return again. For in all of time has their been none so clever as she. Isabella has not joined the gods yet, she can never die...she can only be reborn over again into new lives. Just as she had once been the grandmother to herself, every other generation Isabella had given rise to her new life and she will again."

Lydia was interested in this woman’s story and moved forward asking, "But how is that even possible?"

"With Isabella anything can happen, the grass can be as black as night and the sun never set in her world. The skies can rain down silver rain or as it had with her death...her very own blood bathing the world to show...she was never dead. She lived on in every tree and rock, every being of our world. She is apart of us all. She created us all. This has all been foreseen Lydia, it was her plan. Your arrivals were seen long before any of you were born and now it is time for this to begin and end to begin a new."

Lydia looked over to Sid and smiled at his comment seeing his nose twitch. "Well Sir Sid the White Rabbit, it only makes sense you help me restore the White to her throne however we do this...who else agrees to help me?"

Jackal raised his hand excitedly, "I would follow you to my death Lady Lydia."

Looking to the others she turned quickly to the witch and asked almost with a childish curiosity, "My Lady...what was she like...Isabella?"

"How can one even begin to describe the light of a world. She was benevolent and fair, never cross or cruel. She was a motherly figure to all and a friend, she saw all as equals and made her world devoid of suffering or evil. Her smile was like the light of the sun and she held more beauty in a single curl then all the women of Wonder could ever posses. Isabella was more then just our queen, she was our friend, our companion. We thought her immortal, we thought her a god but she was never these things and she wanted to make it clear. She proved to us, we thought we needed her, and she has been showing us now that we don't. We just need each other to stand strong. She is with us all...even you Lydia."

"Well", ascented Sid, his nose twitching again, "it would make sense that I aid the beautiful woman in restoring justice to this foreign world once more. I am a Paladin and it is my duty that drive me to do this, accompanied by a strange feeling of kinship with this motely crew of warriors. However, there's still one other question my dragon asked that hasn't been answered: WHY are we like this? Lydia, you don't seem to me the type of girl who walks around in an apron, blue dress, and knee-high stockings with those black shoes. I am definitely not the type who walked around wearing a frock-coat, a pair of spats, and these ridiculous shoes. I also do not keep my dragon-mount in a watch!"

Sid's nose was twitching rather violently, now, as he was rather incensed that the only bit of his equipment still consistent from Avalon was his Holy Blade, Chrysamere. Had he been wearing his armour, the Dragon's Skin, then Sid's grave injuries from earlier wouldn't have even occurred, his armour was so strong.

"So just why exactly do we look like this", growled Sid, the corners of his mouth beginning to jerk slightly as well, accompanying his nose.

The witch looked at Lydia and smiled, "You tried to turn something into a weapon Lydia didn't you...you tried to make something into another thing, what happened after this?"

"It changed back."

"Indeed...it changed back, this is because the world is what the queen wants it to be...and you are all what she wants you to be. Wonder looked much different when Isabella was queen. Trees raining flowers and bright skies all the time. It is because the nobility were the ones who made this world and they shape it as they want...only they can change what happens here in this land....to an extent. Lydia you had bent the queens reality if only for a minute...you had caught her off guard which is why it must be you to drive that dagger into her heart. You have all changed because Red wants you to be changed...so you will not be strong enough to destroy her, She had taken away the thing you held as your biggest strength so now you must find new strengths to use against her. Sid, she had taken away most of what you had, your weapons and armor and your dragon because they were powerful, Grimlore, she had taken away your true form because in it your were stronger and dangerous...and Lydia, she took away the killer and the darkness inside you because with it she knew you would do as you were trained to do...kill."

Jackal looked to the ground with watery eyes, "And the Queen took away the person I loved most...our true queen...our starlight. She robs people of what they hold dearest and we need to stop her" He slammed his hand against the table knocking over a tea cup. His face was determined and bright. They were going to do it, they were going to get the Queen even if they had to die for it.

Lydia brushed her fingers against the table lightly feeling more and more innocent and childish by the minute. In fact she almost felt like her dress was getting bigger on her, maybe it was just all in her head. Her brown eyes moved back to the witch's old face, her gray hair tied back in a bun as an old white shall laid over her shoulders. Letting out a slight sigh she asked, "But if the world is what Red wants then why was I able to change the branch?"

The Witch narrowed her eyes and glanced around at everyone as a large black cat jumped onto the table, "That I can not answer, some things you must find for yourself. If I told you everything then you would learn nothing."

She pet the black cat lightly behind the ears as he purred happily and turned his attention to jackal. Arching his back he let out a hiss, those moonlight yellow eyes glaring at the man in the red suit, "Dogs....dogs in my hut. Get out mutt before i scratch you so..."

Slapping the cat on the head the old witch hissed at the cat, "Now Felix behave. These are our quests." She paused and looked to the travelers. "Your journey lies beyond the swamps...to the labyrinth, my pets will guide you out of the swamp. After that you are on your own, but I warn you now, once inside the labyrinth stay together. If she pulls you apart she will destroy you. One by one she can make you fall...but together...if you stand as one she has no power...no power over friendship and love. She can not control what she knows not of."

So it would seem that we are simply the way we are because the Red Queen wishes it, growled Kenji's voice inside of Sid's head.

"But then, why are we here to begin with", inquired Sid, "If we are here to overthrow the queen, why did she summon us to begin with? Was it the Red Queen who summoned us to this world? Or was it something else entirely. Was it the White Queen you speak of?"

Still, Sid had another question. The witch spoke of how he had been stripped of his armour and weapons because the Red Queen didn't want the groups' most powerful qualities becoming her downfall. She had removed the aggressive willpower within the assassin Lydia, the brute strength and power of the half-Orc Grimlore, and the armour and weapons of Sidarthas Monotheril, as well as his dragon. But then, why was Chrysamere still with him? It had functioned well it the recent battles with the wererabbits, so that meant that the Queen hadn't tampered with the Holy Blade.

"But wait", interjected Sid, raising his hand, "If the Red Queen wished to weaken me, why didn't she remove Chrysamere? I can function without Kenji or my other Blades as a warrior." You forget the multiple times I've saved your ass, growled Kenji, maintaining a speaking psychic link with the others in the room, "How was Chrysamere unaffected by the Queen's imagination, which you said shapes the world of Wonder as she sees fit? If she can't tamper with my sword, then why doesn't Lydia or Grim have any of their weapons from our world?" He looked to the young assassin, his nose twitching slightly to register his confoundedness, and then back to the witch.

"I cannot say for sure", the crone answered, "but when you were transported to this world, you began to transform into one of the Red Queen's rabbit servants immediately. It could very well be that she allowed you to keep your blade from your world simply because she wanted the leader of her White Rabbits to be armed and dangerous, as well as a ravenous beast."

The witch then paused, stooping and taking Chrysamere from its place beside the bed Sid had been slumbering in. She seemed to have strength that was below the surface, for she lifted the powerful bastard-sword like one would lift a small dagger. She examined the white sword, sheathed within its ornate scabbard, for a long moment before laying it across the table.

"However, and this is most probable because otherwise the Queen would have disabled this weapon now that you're cured of your transformation, I'm strongly sure that the reason your sword was unaffected is because you are a Paladin, and Chrysamere is your possessed Holy Blade. From what I could tell in my examinations, this sword and your soul are intricately bonded together. You are a part of this weapon as much as it is a part of you. She cannot alter this sword's attributes because it is fundamentally linked with your own being, which she cannot touch", the witch finished.

Lahcza spoke when Lady Lydia asked for who else would be coming along. With White back on the throne, his people would be dafe again, and a good friend would be back. "Lady Lydia, of course I will help you." Afterwards, he remained silent as he listened to how they would need to do it, along with a few other bits of information. Lahcza looked at his two axes, they were still in great condition, mostly since they haven't been used much, except for a few battles with Red's troops. It seemed he'd need to use them again, and soon. He knew this trip would be dangerous, but he had no other choice. White needed to return to the throne, and as quickly as possible. The longer Red remained, the more dangerous things became.

Lahcza knew they needed to stick together, and he was glad that he finally found some help. He took another look around the room as things were explained, about the others. It was true, with Red on the throne she had the power to do these things, and it's a good thing Sid was cured. He never would've guessed Lady Lydia was a killer, this surprised him the most. He didn't say anything about it though, he felt it was best not to ask.

After the witch had explained the situation of Sids sword she finally paused for a moment before getting a glint in her eye. A clever all knowing sort of look crossed her face as she set her old bones into a chair near the fire and poked at the flames, "Perhaps you were summoned by someone, but not the Red Queen. The other queen called you here. She may be dead but her magic is still here, we can all feel it around us. She is here even now speaking to us...but that is enough of that, more you shall know soon enough, now out, out, you have jobs to do."

The old witch started pushing Jackal out of the hut and out into the open swamp atmosphere. her lovely little winged monkeys jumped about on the rooftop as Lydia stepped outside and ran behind Jackal as if she were a little child hiding behind her father. She looked up to the mans ice blue eyes and put a hand on his arm clutching him tightly as she watched each ape jump from the roof and take flight. At first she was afraid but then she looked up and marveled over their beauty and grace.

"They will take you out of here, now safe journey...all of you, and Lydia...you be careful dear. The Queen will want you dead most of all." The old woman wrapped her shawl tighter around her shoulders and started back for her hut as the flying apes waved for them to follow and took off ahead at a pace that they could keep up to. Lydia let go of Jackal and took the lead, marching off after the apes. Her whit underskirt fluttered and flowed as she walked forward with almost a childish gate of importance.

Jackal moved forward slowly and looked back at Sid for a second asking, "Now I have not known her long, but has anyone else noticed that as time goes on that Lydia seems to be getting more...well...I mean no offences to her I am sure she is a lovely woman in your world but she has been...getting...more...childish."

Lydia bounced after the monkey bats nearly at a skip and looked around at the strange green barked trees. Her black curls bounced merrily as she got a cheerful smile on her face and started to hum a little tune. Almost closing her eyes she nearly went completely oblivious to the world which was so alien to her. Stopping in her tracks for a second she jumped a little as if shocked or surprised by something. Glancing back at the others she brushed off her dress a little sticking her noise in the air and continued to walk on with the grace and elegance of a woman.

She had caught up on this childish behavior and it was starting to worry her. Even when she had been a child she did not act so merry and clueless. What was more disturbing to her was the fact that she herself was a mother and was suppose to be more mature and nurturing then everyone else in the party and here she found herself slowly becoming a little girl, mentally not physically...or at least she hoped not physically. Maybe she was fighting the queen somehow, maybe that was why she would want her dead more then the others, Lydia could fight her and change things...so maybe she was more of a threat then she first thought.

Now that he thought about it, Sid did seem to notice a gradual degeneration of Lydia's formerly-stone cold personality since he'd met her. Though she'd had elements of innocence and naivete when he first met her, she still acted much like a cold-hearted assassin. Now, she was almost whimsical in her attitude, skipping about and adoring everything around her. She seemed to be a matured lady, but now she was acting almost exactly like a child!

"Now that I think about it", said Sid, his nose a-twitch at his suspicions, "I can't help but agree with you, Jackal. For one who's destined to murder the ruler of this Wonder world, Lydia seems to be losing all of the traits that one would need to kill without remorse. It's almost as if..." Sid allowed his voice to trail away, allowing himself to drift into thought as he contemplated their situation. "We have no choice, Jackal. You are our guide and I am her protector. We must both see to it that she fulfills her destiny. Otherwise, we're going to be stuck here a long time."

Sid reached into the pocket of his vest and withdrew his Kenji-pocket watch. Checking the time, Sid suddenly got tense, as many hours had passed. Twirling his top hat two times with his hands, Sid quickly replaced it upon his head and hefted Chrysamere over his right shoulder as one would carry a stringed guitar. With a start, Sid made to catch up to Lydia, calling back to Jackal to hurry.

"Hurry, hurry, we must hurry", he barked at the Guide, "We've already lost a lot of time, and we're running out of time to spend! We're late, really late! Come on, Jackal, come on!"

Lydia jumped and skipped as she ran along hearing voices in a clearing up ahead. She came to a sudden stop and turned towards the voices wondering who was there. The flying monkies flew over to her trying to stop her and pointed her back into the direction they had been moving to before but Lydia ignored them. Stopping in his tracks Jackal looked over to Lydia skipping away from the path and panicked swinging his cane around, "Oh dear Lydia wait...come back, don't leave the path...Lydia NOOOOO." the young woman didn't listen to him and continued skipping along further from the path. Looking back at Sid he panted, "Come on, we must go after her."

Lydia continued skipping along following the voices as the monkey bats tugged at her dress and her doll like curls. She almost seemed hypnotized by the laughter ahead of her. With a childish smile she moved onward oblivious to all around her. Glancing back she saw most if not all her companions were gone and a sudden jolt of fear ran through her. Something in her head told her 'people vanish in this dark world, now start running.' With that her feet moved quickly beneath her and a small portion of her assassin self came back as she leaped over logs and stumps almost slipping into a pool of mud.

Jackal ran about sniffing the air and getting worried, he could not find Lydia and he feared losing her, they couldn't loss her. "Where did she go...come on rabbit you should be able to track her down. Rabbits are wonderful trackers." As soon as his panicked words had silenced he heard a scream rip through the trees sending a single bird to take off into the sky before bursting into hundreds of black birds. "It's Lydia, she's in trouble, come on." grabbing Sid by the color of his shirt he took off in the direction where he had heard Lydia. His feet moved so fast he hardly noticed the ground. Seeing a clearing up ahead he burst through entering a small field.

Their sat Lydia who seemed to have fallen but she did not seemed panicked. No quite the opposite, she seemed excited. Looking over he saw what she looked upon. A large banquet table with mountains of food and kettles of tea and tea cups. Four curious characters ran around the table switching chairs over and laughing as if playing a game. One was a short man with a top hat twice his size, his tailcoat jacket of the most obnoxious gold and orange colors, the other was a dog sized rat that ran around on two legs, his gray pelt rather dull. The character that made them all jump was a white rabbit with a monical over his eye and a grey vest on. He sat at a chair with one leg crossed sipping his tea. He seemed very old but still frightened Lydia. Twitching his nose he looked up at Sid and smiled before saying warmly, "Welcome guests to the tea party, just in time, please sit down, sit down."

Lydia got up brushing herself off and glancing over to the last person at the table, a rather queer looking character. He was a rather frightful old man who seemed to be made of wood, his long white beard dragging past his nubby knocked knees. Glasses balanced at the end of his long nose. Tilting her head sideways she spoke, "Curious, very curious." Lydia stepped forward and found a spot at the table. Sitting down she crossed her legs in a ladylike fashion and watched as Jackal reluctantly followed. "So who are all of you? I am Lydia by the way"

The old white rabbit cleaned his monical on his vest and set it back over his eye. Leaning on his cane a little he squinted at Lydia and nodded his head lightly, "We my dear Lydia are the queens court. I am Rabbit, this is Ratigus, Mad Hatter, and royal adviser Woodro."

Lydia sat back more, "You mean the Red Queen?"

Rabbit jumped and put a hand over his heart, "No...oh no, good lord no, the White. We have no place in court anymore so now we spend out days here, drinking tea."

Lydia looked down a little baffled, "Oh...well I thought rabbits were evil."

Rabbit twitched his ear and bowed lightly, "Well not I, I am the first, I was a normal rabbit from another world who came centuries ago, I did a noble deed and the queen gave me the gift to walk on two legs and made me head of the Royal Guards. I am a royal knight you know. Body Guard to Istabella herself. Of course...the night her sister killed her we were sadly to late and now look, my royal guards have been turned to monsters. Savage beasts, blood thirsty. I alone escaped for I am the first and Istabella's magic is still far to strong in me fro the Red to touch me."

"Oh I see Mr. Rabbit, well then I have good news for you...I wish to bring Istabella back...and destroy your red Queen."

The rabbit smiled as did the others at the table, even the Mad Hatter who seemed to run around circles on his chair and jump onto the table. Twitching an ear Rabbit whimpered, "Someone is coming, about a mile off now."

Half goblin...Half elf...All trouble
Findros chuckled victoriously to himself, toying with a small, golden ring between his fingers, slipping it on as he settled himself down on the rooftop he'd just scaled. He ignored the cries of commotion from the city streets below, the old man's desperate pleas that no doubt the busy passerby were simply pretending not to hear.

"Help! Help please! I've just been robbed! And the lout's stolen my manuscript! Oh please help, the story's for the children, you know."

He smirked, hefting the sack he'd just pilfered from under the old codger's arm to see what else he'd nabbed along with his victim's moneybag and a few shiny possessions. Tossing a few spare clothes over the roof without a second thought, the swordsman tugged out a small, leather bound tome, and a fresh looking apple apparently intended for a spare snack. Setting the man's wallet aside to rifle through later, he laid out on his back and made himself comfortable, buffing the apple against his shirt before taking a bite.

He chewed loudly, raising an eyebrow in mild interest as a small piece of parchment fell from between the pages. He picked the note up, squinting in the afternoon sunlight as he made out the words "Don't fall in", scrawled in ink.

"The hell is that supposed to mean?" he asked out loud, discarding the note again and taking another bite of the apple as he opened the book and began to read.

"The...jabberwocky," he sounded out with some difficulty, narrowing his fiery eyes in confusion. Hmmpf. Now was that some sort of exotic beast, or just a new slang term for a man's little soldier? He snorted, shrugging off the title before continuing to what appeared to be a poem of some sort.

"'Twas brillig...and the slidy-slithy? toves, did gyrate and mimble? Gumble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, and the momo raths outgrabe...What??" he exclaimed incredulously to no one in particular once he'd finished the line. "Is this even English??"

Turning the book sideways, he cocked his head to see if he might have been reading some sort of cypher, or perhaps had the book upside down. The inconsistent quillwork of the writer certainly wasn't helping. He tried again, skimming the following lines in his head before he stumbled upon a part that caught his interest.

"Vorpal sword, eh?" he remarked with raised eyebrow. "Definitely a pervy wanker," he determined with a chuckle, shaking his head in disbelief as he worked his way through the nonsense. "Tumtum Tree??" What was the old man talking about?

"O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!?" Finn quoted out loud again, trying his best not to choke on the apple as he finished the poem, bursting suddenly into uncontrollable laughter. Wiping the tears from his eyes, he skipped ahead a few pages, unflinchingly tossing his apple core into the bustling passerby below.

"Fell through a mirror?? Come on now, man, that's more crack right there than in a fat man's ass!" he exclaimed contemptuously, slamming the book shut once he decided he'd had enough. Pffsh. Big loss. As if the old coot was ever going to make a penny off of that. "Time to get a new job, grandpa," he jeered, closing his eyes and folding his arms behind his head to take a quick nap in the sun.

WHUMP.

Findros coughed, clutching gingerly at his aching chest as he struggled to open his eyes. He kicked out instinctively, struggling to steady his feet even with the wind knocked out of him, his hands outstretched to defend himself against whatever authorities had managed to find and attempt to apprehend him. He succeeded only in tripping over his own feet again, suddenly reeling and inexplicably dizzy. He rolled over onto his stomach, propping himself up on his knees as he prepared to vomit into the grass below.

Grass? What the hell??

His eyes shot open to verify what his fingers had felt, shocked to find a lush carpet of greenery where the smooth tiles of someone's roof had been below him moment before. He looked around, wondering if he'd managed to accidentally fall from his hiding place into the streets, but all he saw was a treeline encircling him and some distant mountains he didn't recognize sprawling into the distance behind him.

Slowly rising to his feet, he tried fruitlessly to brush the grass stains from his knees, his usual smugness and poise replaced by a look of extreme bewilderment one might see on a lost, young child. Where was he? Had he suddenly passed out? That seemed unlikely since he hadn't even been drinking for once. If it was a dream, it was like none he'd ever had before...everything seemed so...real. His brow furrowed angrily as he considered the possibility of the involvement of wizards or magic of some sort, something he'd never had experience with himself but generally frowned upon as magic made everything unpredictable. Cold steel and logic were weapons he trusted far better.

He began walking absently, dumbfounded as to how he'd arrived here, when, or by what means. And where exactly was 'here', anyway? It's not like he could have fallen from the sky either- Wasn't a damned thing there besides clouds he could have fallen from.

He sneezed unexpectedly, noticing he'd blindly wandered into a field of sorts, all manners of colorful, huge wildflowers towering up around him.

"Great," he growled unconvincingly. "Killer tulips. Apparently, I've somehow been landed on some sort of exotic island. Must be Fincayra. Always wanted to go there, I guess," he joked bitterly, throwing a violent kick towards one of the oversized flowers. He grinned in satisfaction as it buckled on its broken stalk, falling lifelessly to the ground with a faint rustle.

Tramping forward, he reached for his swords to slash the stupid things to ribbons, intending to stubbornly cut through the sea of monstrous flora. It wasn't like going in any other direction was bound to be any more promising.

He stiffened as his groping fingers met nothing but air, searching his back desperately for where he usually kept his blades. Gone. He was defenseless. Thinking he'd perhaps dropped them where he'd woken up, he spun on his heels, only to be knocked flat on his back again.

Roaring savagely, the swordsman sprang to his feet, fists ready to lash out at whomever had knocked him down. Instinctively ducking a swing from one of the tulips, Findros followed the manuever to jump over a low swing from another one before landing a well-placed punch to shatter one of the flower heads into a shower of petals and pollen. Wait...the flowers were attacking him now?

Well this just kept getting worse.

Crying out in a mixture of utter fear, anger, desperation, and confusion, the halfbreed swung his arms wildly, trying his best to fend off his assailants as he fought his way through the churning sea of animated flora. Finally breaking free into open grass again, Finn stopped a moment to catch his breath, spewing a garbled string of obscenities between sneezes and gasps for air.

"This place just keeps getting worse, now doesn't it?" he asked acidly to the thin air, his lips twitching like a wild beast. "And gods help me if anyone hears me talking to myself like this, I'm going to wring their damn neck because I think I've lost it and I think I bloody well deserve to KILL SOMEONE. And no one can EVER hear that Findros Blackthorn ran away from a fight with a fucking flower," he spat, slicking his tousled, black hair back before storming off again.

"Whoooo....arrre.....you?" a wheezy voice breathed from behind him.

Not bothering to find out who the voice belonged to, Finn spun around in place, promptly delivering a powerful punch to the face of his unseen assailant with a sickening crunching sound. His smug grin faded the moment he turned around to see who he'd knocked out cold, blinking in disbelief at what appeared to be a giant, humanoid caterpillar wearing glasses and...smoking a shisha.

"Right," he grumbled through gritted teeth. "I'm drugged. Drugged and dreaming. Must have been that apple or something," he reasoned, turning around again determinedly to continue in the direction he'd been going. "No doubt the sick bastard that wrote all that nonsense for his precious kiddies wanted to give them another little present too...Yeah, well I'll get him as soon as I wake up. I'm going to make that bastard pay for giving me the worst damn trip of my life.

" 'It's for the chiiildren, it's for the chiildren!!'"
he mimicked mockingly in sing-song, ripping a spiderweb out of his way as he weaved through another spot of trees. "I'd better find a bar or a brothel soon, or this is not going to be worth all this trouble."

As if on cue, the trees opened up before him, revealing what looked like a table of fancy diners in the distance, picnicking around a table in the grove before him. Instantly he brightened up, his eyes glinting impishly as he watched them raise their glasses and talk eagerly amongst themselves. At least one of the fellows looked quite rich judging from the top hat and extravagant suit. Hell, even if this was a dream, he could make it a bit better by doing what he did best- picking a pocket or too. And if this wasn't, he hoped at least they'd know how to get back to Trevena.

"Hey you," he barked by way of greeting once he'd entered speaking range, looking around at the rather eccentric group of figures seated at the table. "Can any of you Circusheads tell me where the hell I am? I swear I've had the worst morning," he began gruffly, stopping midsentence to snatch some sort of teacake from the table and shove it in his mouth. "And let me tell you, coming from me, that's saying a lot- Three girls, one dwarf, far too much ale, some sort of elven liquor, and don't even get me started on how the pony was involved.

"Oh hell,"
he trailed off through a mouthful of crumbs upon seeing the dumbstruck looking rabbit with the monical staring back at him. "Just forget it- Anyone have anything to drink?" he asked miserably, searching carelessly through the ceramic dishware and teacups. He grunted in dissatisfaction, turning instead to rudely extract a flask from the well-dressed gentleman's jacket pocket and take a swig.

Exhaling deeply as he slumped into an open armchair, Finn propped his boots up onto the table, pressing the flask to his lips again while the rest of the table simply watched him in silence. "Oh don't mind me," he said dismissively, considerably comforted now by the alcohol. "I'm sure you all have some very pressing conversation concerning the threat of murderous flowers, or the present mating habits of the Mimsies in the wabe.

"Except for you,"
he countered slowly, looking up in interest as he spied the pretty, young girl he'd apparently missed in his mild panic before. "You mind me all you want, sweetheart," he added with a wink, covering a leer with the flask again.

Hell, if she slapped him for it, maybe she'd have the good sense to slap him awake, as this was turning out to be THE worst nightmare he'd ever had.

At least he had whisky.

It was all Sidarthas could do to keep his feet moving lest his fancy garb be soiled, absolutely soiled, by Jackal accidentally pulling him to the ground. When they broke through the treeline, the two found themselves in a clearing with a lavishly-decorated dining table. Sid stumbled a few steps when Jackal released him, humorously tripping over his own feet and hitting the ground hard, flat upon his face. Spitting out a mouthful of grass as the Rabbit narrated his short, eventful tale, Sid unceremoniously scrambled to his feet and pulled out his Kenji-watch, his nose twitching slightly as he did so.

Content that the group was on schedule, Sid replaced the watch and dusted himself off, picking Chrysamere up from the ground and hefting it back over his shoulder. Sidling into the seat to the right of Lydia, who seemed to be engrossed in the setting here, Sid reached forward and pulled a kettle of tea toward him along with a small Cornish Hen: a chicken small enough for personal consumption. Pouring a small glass, Sid lightly sweetened the tea before laying Chrysamere to rest on the table right next to him. Around this time, Rabbit finished his little tale of how he was the head of Wonder's Royal Guard until the rise of the Red Queen and a new arrival came to the table.

Gently sipping his tea, Sid regarded this new companion with a light curiosity. Blinking twice, Sid's eyes lit up an azure color as he studied this man's personality. To his horror, Sid realized that this new person was none other than a Shadowed Elf: a bastard breed between an Elf and a Goblin. Closing his eyes and letting go of his energy, Sid's eyes returned to normal as he stood and yanked Chrysamere from its scabbard. As the creature addressed Lydia, Sid's blade came across Lydia's body and the tip came to rest upon the Shadowed Elf's neck.

"You watch your tongue, Shadowed Elf", hissed Sid as the Holy Blade's touch lightly singed the dark creature's skin, "Or I'll cut it out and stick it down your throat!"

"Enough", called the other inhabitant of the table: a man with a grinning face and an oversized top hat that make Sid's look small in comparison, "That Shadowed Elf is a creature from your dimension. If he knows what is good for him, he'll aid you, Jackal, and Lydia in your quest, lest he be stuck here forever with you all!"

"He is right", conceded Rabbit solemnly, "He will help us, he must help us if he is to return home."

With a stern glare upon the Shadowed Elf, Sid retracted Chrysamere and sheathed it. Sitting back down in his seat next to Lydia, Sid tore off a drumstick from the hen and bit in, savoring the tender meat and spices. When he finished the small helping, Sid wiped his face before turning back to the Elf.

"I apologize for my actions", said Sid in a calmer voice to the Shadowed Elf, his nose lightly twitching as he fingered his coat pocket, where Kenji the Watch resided, "If what Rabbit says is true, you will either help us or be stuck here in Wonder forever. I am Sidarthas Monotheril. The young assassin next to us is Lydia. And he", Sid pointed across the table to the cane-wielding friend of them both, "is Jackal. We, like you, were caught up in some Working of the Red Queen's magic. And now, here we are, in the same predicament."

Lydia waited until Sid had finished introducing them all. Then standing up she walked over to the stranger and bowed her head lightly curtsying to him in her short skirted blue dress. Rabbit twitched a little at the sight of Lydia being so graceful and noble towards this man. Quickly The Mad Hatter jumped up and poured tea all over the table before setting to teacup upon the rats head. "My of my...lets dance." jumping back up onto the table he began bouncing about.

Still Lydia turned her attention to the new commer and asked politely, "Oh you will help us won't you. I would be ever so grateful if you did. We could use your help, some of our other friends vanished in the swamps, I don't know if the Queen has them now...but I promised we would restore this place for Isabella. Then you can go home and forget any of this ever happened." As they spoke Jackal was pulled up onto the table by The Mad Hatter and forced to spin around kicking at tea pots and cups.

"Miss Lydia help." he yelped nervously as he was thrown around in violent spins. "Mistress...Mistress please...I'm getting...I'm getting dizzy." He clawed at the air as they passed by them whimpering still. Not long after did The Mad Hatter pull her onto the table as well and started dancing with her trading off for Jackal who fell off and landed on his back with a whimper. His feet up in the air while Rabbit tried to help him up.

Lydia bounced around with him spinning and twirling on the table giggling a little before she too felt dizzy. Spinning her free Lydia twirled off the table nearly falling over if it was not for Jackal catching her around the waist and holding her up. As Mad Hatter continued to dance Rabbit jumped up and cried out, "Run, the White Rabbit Army...Lydia they come for you and your friends...get out now while you can." With that Rabbit and the others jumped up to escape as twenty or more white rabbits poured out of the forest running towards them on all fours.

Jackal grabbed Lydia pushing her under the table as the first rabbit leaped over his head sliding across the linen and ripping it apart. Dishes and silverware flew everywhere as if leap back at Jackal making him fall back. The monkey bats flew in overhead diving down at the white rabbits as Lydia cowered under the table. With a cry echoing she jumped out from her hiding place pulling the white and pink cloth off her head to see Rabbit captured by two white rabbits as they carried him away, "RABBIT." Lydia cried out. She saw as the old tree man and Mad Hatter and Rat were also taken and carried away leaving only her and her friends.

Jumping out of her hiding place a white rabbit crouched down in front of her grabbing her by the arm. Lydia let out a scream as it threw her on it's shoulder only to have Jackal run his blade through it's side. Dropping Lydia back to the ground she hit her head on the ground blacking out while the world around her spun. The rabbits howled as they made their attack on them, those who had taken the others already gone. While Lydia was unconscious the key in her pocket made a small white flicker that caught Jackal's attention. Looking down at her he gazed over at Sid and cried, "We need to get out of here. We need to get to the Labyrinth" two of the monkey bats flew ahead pointing at a small path and let out a loud hoot. "Quickly someone grab Lydia...we need to get to that path...trust me, they won't follow us...I think I know where this is."

Sid contented himself to eat and enjoy the fine tea while Jackal was being tormented by the Mad Hatter. His nose was twitching rapidly as he laughed in mirth at the mischief caused by the top hat-wearing madman. It wasn't until his nose and ears detected a familiar scent and sound, respectively, that Sid reached down and drew Chrysamere from its scabbard.

It was too late for Sid to save Rabbit, for the true target was Lydia. If the White Rabbits got ahold of Lydia, then Sid and Kenji would be trapped here in Wonder for the rest of their days, forced to endure their respective forms. Sliding Chrysamere's baldric around his chest to place the scabbard on his back, Sid sprang into action as Jackal called out to him. Though Jackal felled the rabbit that grabbed Lydia, there were several more moving to grab her.

Sid burst forward with a might unparalleled, hitting the hulking wererabbits with a ferocity equal to their own. This sent the first few back into their comrades. With his left hand, Sid grabbed Lydia and hefted her over his shoulder, holding Chrysamere in his right to ward off the attackers. Though he was best when using both hands, Sid was still a capable warrior with Chrysamere in one hand. He cut down one hulking bunny with a slash down its torso.

Steadily, Sid retreated backward from the encroaching rabbits, felling one or two that would be foolish enough to try and take the Paladin head-on. Sid had slain at least six rabbits before he turned to find that he was surrounded on all sides by the mindless abominations. The White Rabbits prepared to spring for one deadly assault upon Sid so they could capture Lydia, for as strong as the Paladin was he couldn't possibly hope to take them all on.

Thinking fast, Sid channeled his mental power and arcane energies into a singular orb. This power allowed Sid to slow down time at his will, making the springing rabbits slow to a snail's crawl. Sheathing Chrysamere, Sid prepared to make use of the orb of power he'd produced. With all his might, Sid thrust this telekinetic blast into the ground below him, sending both he and Lydia into the air.

Time came back into focus as Sid transferred Lydia to his arms, at the apex of his "jump". They seemed to hang in the air as Sid looked back into the clearing. The Jackal and the other party goers were fighting for their lives, but Sid couldn't see much more when he plunged down into the murky marshed below.

Sid hit the ground with a "CRASH" and a "SPLASH", staining and dirtying his frock coat and pants. Sid felt several bones snap clean from the impact. Sid had held Lydia in his arms to keep her from getting hurt by the fall, though the mud still stained her shoes and stockings, as her legs were dangling when he hit the ground.

Hazily, Sid felt his bones and wounds begin to mend from his natural healing ability, but the jarring impact still knocked him senseless to the point where he we fading into unconsciousness. Lydia would need a change of shoes and sock, but first she would need to wake up and defend herself in case the White Rabbits tracked the two of them this far from the table. They were surrounded on all sides by the dark marsh as Sid's eyes fluttered closed and he lost consciousness.
