For far too long they had transversed these lands without a goal, without a driving force, with eating anything more than whatever berries and herbs they could find on the ground in the blasted forest! Hunting had been slim lately, the forests were not as populated by hare and hind as they once were. And they were out of money. They being a girl, and a wolf, of all things. Ah, but this was not simply a pet, no, the wolf was a familiar as various witches and mages had their familiars. The girl however was nothing of the sort. She was just a girl, with a sword, with a scar, and without a memory. And half angel too, but that was a moot point. Zeria neither believed in such creatures nor knew herself to be anymore than simply, human. What a welcome change the beach was! Even the scarred, usually somber girl was cheered by it. Or perhaps it was only the possibility of prey. Crabs and fish just had to be lurking beneath sand and water. Finally, they could escape hunger pains and damp, dark, forest. She paused as she trekked the sands, reaching a hand down to untie her boots, removing them then tying them by the laces to rest at her shoulders. It was as she took another step further down the beach that she was knocked off her feet. Tackled by her own familiar! The great wolf was in a pup-ish mood thanks to the warm sand and the sun. A mood shared by the girl as Zeria ruffled his fur and grabbed him by the ears to throw him back to the sand. "Xan!" She could hear his voice laughing in her head. Silly wolf, Zeria never knew he had a sense of humor. ~Let's go swimming. I've got mud in my coat~ The dire wolf mock pouted, before taking off towards the shore and leaving the girl to sprint after him. |

High in the sky katrex was sailing. A glimmer of silver against the sun, most likely unseen by anyone. He seemed to be in as playful a mood as Xan was, doing air acrobatics left right and center. Why was he flying? you might ask, What would this man be doing in such a remote place. If you asked him you'd receive a shrug a chuckle and an answer like "I go where we wind takes me". Katrex is not a man with plans. He saw water ahead and bellow, he was hot, the sun on his back was getting unpleasant he took a dive approaching the water at immense speed pulling up in time to just let the tips of his silvery wings skim the water. The salty spray was refreshing, He beat is wings twice as he rose a little then slowly turned and approached the shore. "That's odd" he thought to himself "What's someone doing this far out... Is that a wolf? How, curious." As he approached the shore he angled his wings as to slow him down, particularly lengthening their width and curve. His velocity decreased and his body became less horizontal, to the point where he was just gliding on his wings hanging completely upright. The sand touched his feet and he beat his wings backwards legs running to catch up with his speed. With two powerful wing strokes bringing sand up in front of him he managed to stop. As the sand settled he looked for the odd pair they were a little way along the beach, he watched them curiously. "I wonder if they noticed me" he said out loud to himself. |

Stepping into the salty spray she paused to watch the water darken her pant's legs. Zeria didn't get to see the shore often, stuck hiding from people in grimy townships or wandering the woods for lack of anything better. So it was with this unplanned change of pace that she found herself more relaxed and calm than ever. Because there was no one else around, just her and her familiar. Catching a glimpse of her reflection in the water she nearly frowned at the scar shown rippling in the waves. The wolf, seeing her momentarily lapse in happiness, swiped a paw in the water to send ocean spray sky ward. Zeria simply turned to him and laughed lightly. Just as she was about to disrobe, the two noticed that they weren't as alone on the beach as they'd first thought. All fun and games ended at that point. Zeria was not exactly the mos social of creatures. People in general were quite ... judgmental, and they asked questions she didn't know the answers to. Disappointed in the interruption, the dire wolf stepped away from the shore, allowing his longer than the average wolf's fangs to glimmer in the sun. The girl had already dropped a hand cautiously to her own weapon. |

Katrex realized the two had noticed him and so most natural to him he waved. It was clear he was completely unarmed. The sea spray was refreshing and the hot sand between his toes envigorating, he unfurled his wings and shoot out all the water with a few quick beats before returning them to rest position. He then slowly aprached the two hand in his pockets quite casualy. Once he was in talking range instead of shouting range he called over to them "Hey, Don't suppose you know where we are? I'm a little lost." He laughed softly stopping his approach at that range when he noticed her go for her weapon. He crouched down low on to his hands and knees looking at the wolf, and tilted his head and using the odd pieces of body language he knew to show that he wasn't an enemy, Light knows if the wolf understood him though. |

The man had waved, as she'd seen people in the cities while greeting each other. She still wasn't certain about him however. Her hand drew away from her blade, just slightly as the wolf gave a monotone growl. It was merely canine rumblings to anyone else, but their long time familiarity with each other allowed Zeria to understand the wolf with ease. It is fine. Zeria. Nodding to the wolf, she let her hands slowly fall back to her sides. The waves lapped against her clothes, but she ignored the darkening material. After all she'd rather get soaked clothes than to not be wearing them all. Now that the ... stranger with the wings was watching her. Her head tilted down to look back towards the water, ignoring her hair falling across her eyes and obscuring her identity. The wolf simply sat in the sands, placing himself between the man and the girl. If the wolf could speak, he would have. Instead he only tilted his head back in her direction, waiting for her to speak. When she finally did her reply was abrupt and to the point. Really she didn't care for the man to linger any longer than necessary. "I don't know! A beach..." |

Katrex's ears perked up trying to pick out what the wolf was communicating, but as far as his limited understanding of animals went he couldn't make heads or tails of it, though something told him wolfs didn't just make noise for no reason. Her reaction to the growl confirmed his belief... How interesting he thought. Katrex smiled "Helpful" he fell silent, shrugged and fell back on to his bum, tucking his knees up and looking out to sea. "It's not often I meet people out here, let alone ones traveling with a wolf" He sniffed the air a little trying to figure out exactly what type of wolf it was, it's eyes had the gleam of intelligence behind them. He decided to take a guess and see if he could pick up something from her reaction "Quite a special wolf at that, it seems." |

Of course, she wasn't trying to be. Shifting her feet in the sand, she glanced in discomfort at the wolf. If only he could speak for her and if the guy would just go away. Zeria wasn't used to being near people, she avoided people for a reason ... The wolf however thought talking to people was good for her. Even if she ... didn't have much to say. The wolf, Xandarik, seemed to give a proud pose at the mention towards himself. "He's a Dire. Not many left." Xandarik gave a gleam of fangs as if to accent this point, before striding back through the water and stepping to the girl's side. Despite the waves she idly scratched the wolf's ear before giving a chance look up. The first thing she noticed was the man's eyes. Silver. Her own were only slightly darker, regardless she'd never seen the color in anyone else before. Realizing she stared for far too long she turned back to the sea, feigning interest in the vast span of open ocean. |

Katrex nodded slowly "Aye, a friend for life" he said softly eyes glazing over as if remembering something. "See something interesting I see" he said softly but left the statement open ended and signed with his body language that it was only a passing comment. "What's your name" He said addressing the wolf expecting her to answer in his stead, then he looked to her and added "And yours" Realising something he quickly cut himself off and said replacing it " Where are my manners, one should always introduce oneself before asking an others. I'm katrex, pleased to make your acquaintance Mr ? and miss?-" the left the statement open for her to fill should she choose. |

She would have agreed, except, she wasn't much good at conversation. And the wolf couldn't speak, so it seemed to be a very one sided conversation indeed. Zeria nearly started at the off handed question the man asked."N-... no. Its nothing." It was bad enough to be stared at by other, but being caught staring at someone could bring about worst trouble. The last thing she wanted was trouble. "Xandarik." She was going to with hold her own name, for safety's sake. The wolf had other ideas however as he gave her a nudge with one broad shoulder. This causing Zeria to nearly stumble and fall into the water. More importantly it caused her attentions to direct back to the man seated at shore. Pausing a moment to wring the water from the tail of her shirt she finally gave her own name via muted reply. "Zeria. My name's Zeria." |

Amethyst Archer
|
Never before had the Dragon Knight been treated like he had just been when abord the ship called the "Torn Sail." The crewmen were afraid of him because he kept to himself, they spread rumors around the cabins that the Amethyst Archer was in fact the Angle of Death. The Captain didn't like the idea, and when his ship sailed near Coral Cove the crewmen suprised Vasily when he was watching the waves and bound him in chains. After tossing the Dragon Ranger in a small boat and pushing it with a long wooden rod towards shore they opened the sails and took off at full tilt. Casting an Air Cutter spell into the lock broke open the hunk of metal, and when he was upright Vasily fired an arrow into the Captain's cabin window. Sitting back down in the tiny boat the Dragon Knight picked up the oars and set to work getting to shore. After a while there was a considerable amount of water in the boat, but the beach of Coral Cove was near. Letting the sinking rowboat drift to the sand it looked as if he was walking on something just under the water as the boat halted on the shore. With a small "hmph" the Amethyst Archer jumped out of the wooden construction and walked through the water. There were people standing verry close to where he had landed, if he had been another three feet to the right Vasily would have run into the woman. Looking around there was nothing to say about the place other than he had finaly gotten there, and there he would stay. The sand was warm and the ocean breeze was cool, taking off his long cloak the Twin Soul Warrior turned his face to the sun. |

The abrupt appearance of a boat on the horizon nearly caused her to jump out of her skin. Where'd that come from! Well. The ocean. Still, she was surprised Not to mention a particular distaste to being snuck up on. Worst still that she was stuck between guy on boat and guy onshore. What was she supposed to do now? Well, she jumped back as the boat scraped by her. Unfortunately she'd forgotten the sand cementing her to the ocean floor and the knee high water throwing her off balance. She took the wolf down with her. While the water was not deep, it was enough so that the two of them were properly soaked. Fumbling for her sword she pulled it out of the sand, flinging water from the blade. She didn't speak, no curse was given as she pushed the wolf to his feet. Then she stood, dripping ocean water with not much for than a sigh. "That was ... unplanned Xan." |

Katrex though he hadn't been addressed couldn't help but murmur in agreement. Turning to Zerria he quickly added "We'll leave the pleasantries for later, Leave than man to me should he be foe" he said stepping forward and around so that he was between the Girl and the man gentle moving an arm backwards to signal she step back. He inspected the man, wings spreading slightly ready to unfurl, he looked him in the eyes, "I hope your landing so close was coincidence otherwise one might be very suspicious" He said in a toneless voice attempting to gauge the mans reaction "Be yee friend or foe" He added calmly wing tips brushing the sand. |

With a sigh the Dragon Ranger opened his eyes. The glare of the sun in the center of his vision made him blink a few times, then the hood of his cloak cast his face into shadow as he looked at the man with angel wings. Who does he think he is? Taking a step back Vasily threw off his cloak, drawing his Ranger's Bow as he did so. The arrow he had ready to fire was pointed straight ot the man's heart, whoever this cocky angel was. There was nothing the Amethyst Archer hated more than an unfair fight, the woman had her sword drawn and the angel had whatever tricks up his sleeve. If a fight was to happen it would be interesting. "I can be either, if that sword does not get put away I will be a foe. If you, angel, step back then I will put away my bow." To add to the statement he made the Twin Soul Warrior put an extra few pounds of spring into the bowstring, and planted his feet deeper into the sand. Silently he thankd the gods that he wore his gloves, if he had not Vasily's fingers would have been red with blood. |

Here she stood, dripping wet, in the middle of the ocean. And two guys were about to start fighting. Over what? Not her. The wolf shook water from his coat, splashing everyone with water in the process. He gave a loud bark, as if to distract the two men from their confrontation. Zeria lowered her sword, the edge of the blade trailing in the water. What was she supposed to do? She didn't even know the guy and he'd jumped in front of her to defend her? She had Xandarik, he was all she needed. Slowly she sheathed the blade back at her hip. "Just ... stop it." She finally spoke, before treading back to shore. Stepping onto the sands, she walked a few paces out of the waves' reach. Here she unbuckled her sword belt from her hip, dropping the weapon and its leathers into the sand. |

"What sword?" He said softly, nothing in his demeanor had been hostile, he had only confronted the man as to the very unusual circumstances of his arrival, what was the chance of all the coast line that he had landed here, as far as katrex was concerned he was simply being cautious. He was thankful she had moved back. Though he marveled at the mans godlike powers, being able to throw off a cloak draw a bow and point it at his heart before he even had a chance to react. Clearly he much have been no match, so it mattered not whether he moved back or not he was dead anyway. Katrex raised an eyebrow "Impressive speed" he said "Well get on with it then if you're going to kill me do it then, maybe she'll have a chance to run away." |
