The Eye of the Ralruan, thought Glorfindel as he strode upward toward the mine's entrance, said to be the most perfectly-formed ruby formation underneath the Earth. The gems mined from this place are notorious for having people killing one another over them. And I'm here for one. His master had come to him via the crystal ball Glorfindel had stolen from a gypsy caravan some weeks ago before he'd setup his base of operations in Castle Indrea in Southern Avalon. He and the Dark Prince were instructed to travel to Gramarye and steal a specially-crafted gem from the Eye of the Ralruan, a mine that produced rubies of invaluble worth in Avalon. The gem could serve as a focus for the magical energy needed to bring about Reman Monotheril's return.

He drew up to a good thirty paces from the mine before the two dwarven guards at the gate, clad in chainmail carrying matching spears and tower shields, called to him.

"Halt", they commanded, "this mine is off-limits, High Elf. I suggest you turn around and head back the way you came."

"Well, here's the problem with that", replied Glorfindel, his hand on the hilt of White Blood, his demonic zweihander, "My master wants me to get him a nice gem and if I don't, he's going to be very displeased with me. So, I kinda have no choice on the matter."

With a lightning-quick motion, Glorfindel whipped his blade from its sheath and hurled it straight toward the dwarf on the left of him. It tumbled through the air much akin to a throwing knife, and even though the guard raised his shield to protect him, the demonic weapon impaled itself in the dwarf's chest, spearing him clean through the shield, arm, and sternum. The other guard charged the now-unarmed elf-demon, bellowing and his spear angled like a charging knight. Glorfindel smirked as he charged back toward the guard, grabbing the spear's shaft and dodging the thrust. The Elf-Demon jumped and kicked the dwarf's tower shield with both feet, sending the stunned guard stumbling backward onto his back.

Glorfindel landed on his feet, the guard's spear in his hand. Calmly striding foward as the living guard attempted to recover, Glorfindel impaled him through the mailed chest with the spear before striding to the first guard's corpse and removing his blade, coated in a sheet of crimson-black blood from the middle of the blade to the tip. Holding his zweihander across his shoulders, Glorfindel kicked in the wooden door of the mind and stepped inside.....

Aoni sighed, she'd heard the commotion outside the mine, but the soft thud of fallen bodies signalled that it was too late to do anything for them - not that she had any reason to anyway. All the same her reasoning told her that she couldnt just walk away from a perfect excuse for a fight.

So she readied herself. Drawing her blade she stood with confidence, ready and waiting for the would be thief. Long chestnut curls cascaded down her back, her hazel eyes shone brightly. She was glad that her crimson dress only reached her thighs now, so it wouldnt hinder her when fighting, the tightness of the bodice emphasised her slender waist and drew attention to her cleavage.

One word had caught her attention though before the killing had begun. The words high elf, made her elven blood stir, she barely knew any of her own kind, she'd never even met her father, and her was a golden oppurtunity to learn something more about herself, too bad that she might be forced to kill him.

His footfalls were light but strong, and she waited listening to them draw ever closer, until at last the mysterious starnger had kicked through the wooden door. Feeling quite at ease she almost playfully scolded,
"Well you certainly know how to make an entrance....but didnt your mother ever tell you not to enter uninvited....and I'm afraid you are definately not invited - perhaps you need a lesson in manners, and Id be more than glad to help you out"
Raising her sword a fraction to emphasise what she meant, she waited for his response, before deciding whether or not to advance.

Glorfindel entered the mine, instantly being confronted by four guards whom had come to investigate the commotion outside. Glorfindel, the moment he readied White Blood, craned his neck to see the silhouette of an elven woman bearing a sword in the afternoon light. He paid for this distraction when his chest was punctured in three places by the guards' spears. He staggered backward as the fourth came for him. He caught it inches from his face with his left hand. His face was a mask of.....amusement.

"Bad idea, my friend", Glorfindel snarled, his face suddenly becoming angry as he jerked on the spear and disarmed the last guard, holding it in the middle as he snapped it in half with his left hand. He bounded forward, as if the gouging hadn't affected him at all, and then brought White Blood to bear. The first dwarf soon collapsed after the crown of his skull was cloven in two by the vengeful Elf-Demon. The second fell when his tower shield was sliced in half and his chest was sliced clean open. The third bled-out when he was mercilessly gutted by the zweihander. And the fourth dwarf's life ended when the Elf had grasped his small head and bashed it repeatedly against a rock until it burst like a melon.

Still impaled by the spears, his blade coated in a firm layer of blood, Glorfindel turned to face the newcomer.

"Sorry about that", he sarcastically greeted, feigning manners toward this obviously-hostile elf, "It's hard to say 'Hi' when you've got four dwarves trying to stab you to death. So hello, I am Glorfindel of the White Blood. And you've got one minute to surrender to me, run, or be impaled on my sword with the other fools here. Before you choose, however, I'd like to know your name as well."

Aoni had to admit she liked his style. She watched calmly as he made quick work of the dwarven guards, and was mildly suprised to see that he didnt falter, not even when wounded.
Even more suprising was that he addressed her whilst still being seemingly impaled, she briefly eyed the layer of blood coating his blade, she smirked - it had been a while since her own sword had been bathed in blood.

"It's hard to say 'Hi' when you've got four dwarves trying to stab you to death. So hello, I am Glorfindel of the White Blood. And you've got one minute to surrender to me, run, or be impaled on my sword with the other fools here. Before you choose, however, I'd like to know your name as well."

His last comment had her desperately trying to refrain from laughing, this wasnt the first person to threaten her with death, and seen as she had no intention of dying he most likely wouldnt be the last.
"Hello to you too Glorfindel - but I'm afraid your going to be disapointed, you see I have no intention of taking up any of your offers. I'd rather die than surrender, especially to an arrogant fool like you, cant say I'm in the mood for running and as for being impaled on your sword I'd say you should be more worried about being impaled on mine.....Tell me Glorfindel and what would you do with my name - besides hoping to carve it on my grave? But if you must know then your simply going to have to try and make me tell you"

Aoni tried not to look at his wounds but couldnt help it, and the more she thought about them the more she didnt want to fight him, it just didnt seem..fair. Besides that he had also offered her two other options that would have let her live.Torn between bloodlust and morals she hesitated, planning what to do next. Having reached a decision she sighed and sheathed her sword.

"You didnt kill me out right, and out of the three options you gave me two were opurtunity's to live, and besides there'd be no honour in killing you seen as your already injured...so then Glorfindel go free - but I give you my back for thats all a common theif such as yourself deserve"

Spinning round on her heel she strode away from him, but she hardly expected him to not respond in some way, so her body remained tense and alert ready to draw her sword should she need to.

"Well, you see", sneered the Elf-Demon, "I was originally going to disregard you and continue with my task." Glorfindel's body then began to meld into the shadows surrounding him, as if they were consuming and eating his body. Using his Elven Speed, he quickly took off and overtook the other high elf, reappearing right in front of her and was briefly surprised that she was one of his own race. "But now, you took it upon yourself to insult me, and be audacious enough to think that you could defeat me. There're several others now enslaved to my will that thought they would defeat me easily, as well."

He nonchalantly plucked a spear out of his stomach. Examining it intently, Glorfindel casually eyed it and then tossed it aside. During this, he took a strong step forward, seeking to push Aoni back toward the mine. However, it wouldn't matter, for he excelled as much at outdoor combat as he did in indoor combat. He plucked out the spear in his hip, giving it a gander before tossing it over his shoulder. He finished by pulling out the one in his chest, casually tossing it to the side.

"So, my finely-shaped race-kin", slithered Glorfindel, energy suddenly pulsating along the blood on the blade of White Blood, "For yes, you are one of my race of Elf." He tossed aside some of his shoulder-length hair, revealing the sharply-pointed ear, "It's time for us to share a dance!"

White Blood came slicing through the air, blood flowing off it like a stream of red as electricity pulsed along it, aimed for the temple of his opponent. He knew she would parry it, so he followed up by turning around by planting his right heel after pivoting on his left foot. Holding his sword reversed-backhanded style, he whipped his right arm around and thrust White Blood toward the belly of the elf woman, this was his true strike.

Aoni was furious, she'd shown him mercy and now potentially risked paying for that mistake with her life.

"So, my finely-shaped race-kin, for yes, you are one of my race of Elf."

She glowered at him, and was quick to retort, "well as touched as I am that my body pleases you - I wouldnt have, touch or even consider you if you was the last male alive, you couldnt even force me to have you if my very life depended on it - and if your one of my own race - then Im disgusted by the foul blood that runs in my veins" her anger was making her bold. One thing that Aoni certainly didnt lack was a spirited nature.

Even more infuriating was that he was anticipating her moves. Glorfindel was clearly skilled with a blade, more so than she...but she was faster. A thrust towards her stomach was narrowly deflected as she swiftly swivelled away from the blade. A back flip created some distance between them. This time if he insisted on swordplay then she'd be ready for him.

"Oooo", he mock-awed toward the woman as she backflipped from him, "You know how to move, as well. Good, good. I like my women to be flexible and springy when I take them. They put up more of a fight, you see." Glorfindel casually paced about, back and forth, some twenty paces ahead of Aoni. "I love it when I encounter one of my kin. So self-confident. So self-righteous. So sure that their dedication to the Light and Good will lead them to victory over me. Their skulls are quite fine trophies, I might add. This will definitely be a hard fight for both of us."

Electricity continued to pulsate down the blade of White Blood. Glorfindel smiled his confident smile, and then flung the blood coated on his blade toward Aoni in sweeping arcs. As the streams of blood flew toward the elf, it hardened and trandformed into gleaming silver razor-sharp blades, able to slice a full-grown man to pieces. Glorfindel followed his opponent's trajectory, for she would be forced to dodge his strike, and then he plunged toward her at mighty speeds, his toes skirting the ground. Zweihander held at the ready, Glorfindel's blade was surrounded by a red swirling light, as if he was breaking the mach at supersonic speeds. When he came within range of the elf, he thrust White Blood toward her in a might blast of energy in his might Skewer technique. The red light would glow bright as he projected a force equating to forty-mile an hour winds or more toward his enemy.

He was mocking her, taunting her for a reaction but she was just as sharp with the comebacks.
"Well you'll be hard pressed to take me, youwerent even able to force from me my name - Im not your of women and I never will be, you couldnt uncross my legs if you tried - no wonder you like ur women flexible..its probably to make up for your lack of skill" she jeered at him. "And anyway who says that I'm dedicated to the light and good... is that some sort of faith some of our kind have? And hard for both of us - for you maybe"

Glorfindel had strong magic flowing through him..but at least he wasnt the only one with an enchanted blade. He might be in charge of the fight, but slowly she was taking back the control. Now she'd been anticipating his moves, so when he charged at her, she was ready for him.
Blocking the thrust by waiting till the last possible moment before twirling aside whilst parrying, the force however still knocked her backwards and to the ground, even she couldnt completely stop the effects on impact.

Aoni soon scrambled back to her feet and circled around him, until there was a suitable distance between them. She couldnt parry like this forever, but yet she was still reluctant to go in for the close combat, so for now this was all she could do.

She parried the main stab of the Skewer, but Glorfindel had been expecting this. He usually anticipated that his opponents would parry the thrust. He usually used the technique in order to stagger his foes using the afterblast from his sheer exertion of power.

She staggered and tumbled to the ground, but she immediately righted herself and began to cautiously circle him. Glorfindel smirked, for he knew that he was in complete control of this fight. His abilities exceeded her's, and she was sticking through this because of her own pride. She couldn't keep up parrying his attacks, his strength, already great because of his High Elven blood, was heavily augmented and improved via his Pact with the Dark Prince. This strength would keep his high-elven enemy on the ropes, for her own Elven strength would not be enough to contend.

"Come, come", he taunted, spreading his arms apart and holding them for a moment, "We've only just begun!" Glorfindel sprang forward, White Blood creating sparks as it dragged along the ground. He sprung into the air, a lithe jumping spider, as he closed their distance. He came down with a ground-shattering impact as White Blood came crashing for a downward swipe. He followed this attack up by whipping his zweihander upward, opening his palm as he did so to allow his blade to spin several times. When he stopped his blade, he then stepped forward and whipped White Blood downward, spinning several more times in that direction.

Aoni's eyes widened a fraction as Glorfindel sprang forwards. She could feel the impact of his landing through the tremors in the ground. His sword play had her momentarily mesmorised as she watched the spinning blade, but she quickly regained her composure as the blade quickly descended towards her.

With a small gasp, Aoni whipped her sword up to parry the blow. Once again she'd avoided a potentially fatal blow, but once again its impact had thrown her off balance. She stumbled to the side, and blindly tripped over a jagged stone. This time she didnt get back up.
It was time to face facts. Her body was tiring and her opponent had superior strength and skills, if she continued, Aoni knew how this little sparring match would end...Glorfindel would kill her. Now it wasnt that Aoni was afraid to die, but rather that she didnt want to. Within moments a tactical ploy had formed inside her mind.

Slowly sheathing her blade she turned to face Glorfindel but remained seated on the ground, it suprised her though that Glorfindel had not struck her whilst she was down, if anything he seemed to be waiting for something. Although once he seemed to realise that the elfin girl was in no hurry to rise he was quick to approach.
As Glorfindel advanced she retreated slightly feigning fear, which put a smug look on her opponents face. Keeping her hand behind her, Aoni cautiously grasped a handful of dirt and grit. It wasnt long before he was towering over her, and her fake expression of fear was replaced by an impish grin - he'd reacted exactly as she'd expected him to.

Delivering a sharp kick to his thigh, that although not hard enough to topple him completely but enough to stagger him, she flung the rough handful up into his face, specifically targeting the eyes. Waiting long enough to see his hands fly to his face, Aoni lunged to her feet and legged it.
Running for her life, Aoni tore out from the mines, not looking back to see if she'd been persued.

The light outside was blinding in comparison with the darkness of the mines, wind blew harshly about her, but at least it was fresh and not stale. If she was to die then she'd rather it be here, out in the open rather than in the confines of some dwarfs mine. Her sense were more alert than ever before, every sensation, evrey feeling suddenly felt a thousand times more dear. Whilst expecting death, she'd never felt more alive.

Having kept her back to the mine behind her she was unaware if Glorfindel stood there or not, she briefly wondered if he was the sort to take the cowards way and stab her from behind, she hoped not because then that would ruin her plan. With trembling hands she drew her sword. Aoni's life wasnt Glorfindels to take, she refused to let him, she was to proud to allow that. If her life was to be lost - then it would be her doing. Death before defeat.
"Glorfindel?" she asked over her shoulder, before turning, wondering if her intentions would be clear to her oponent. A smirk splayed across her lips - 'I bet he didnt anticipate this'

She turned around and looked back where she'd come to look for Glorfindel. However, he was right behind her, cloaked, when she'd taken off running. When she turned around to see if he'd followed, he quickly moved behind her and then dropped his Meld just ask she inquired aloud.

"Yes", he sneered, a foot away from her, White Blood sheathed on his back. He whipped his zweihander from his sheath, clocking her across the face with the flat of his blade. She spun and landed on her back, dazed and fading into unconsciousness. The Elf-Demon quickly rolled her over and pulled her hands behind her back, lashing them together with cords of rope he took from his leather trench coat. Then, he bound her knees and ankles with rope, which would immobilize her and leave her prone in the sun.

He would deal with this girl later, but he had a mission to complete. Taking the elf-woman's sword, he kicked her in the ribs before setting off back toward the mine.

OoC: Okay, I'm gonna finish this topic up with a post in a minute. In the meantime, you can post her Aoni's feelings during and after this post as she fades away in unconsciousness.

SMACK - the flat of Glorfindels blade struck her hard across the face, sending her reeling. The sensation of her body hitting the floor was becoming far too familiar. She faught in vain to hold on to consciousness. The sensation of being bound to tightly and overwhelming weariness resulted in her body slowly shutting down. Aoni needed to rest, unable to hold on any longer, she let her eyes close and felt her body relax slightly before slipping into oblivion.

Elves are renowned for healing quickly, but Aoni healed faster than most. Her own magical strength was healing...and there was something extra in her blood that non other than the one who put it there knew of - which is fortunate seen as it could result in her being killed for the healing powers her blood alone possesed.

Groggily opening her eyes as she came to, Aoni let out a small moan. Her body was stiff and aching from being tied too tightly. How she hated Glorfindel at that particular moment in time. Even more so after discovering he'd taken her sword.
"Son of a bitch" she muttered darkly under her breath. But then slowly a grin began to spread across her face, "The idiot" her sword was enchanted to - it was specifically designed to destroy evil, and to only be weilded by the pure hearted. Knowing that Glorfindel would be sorely dissapointed with it made her feel somewhat better.

But the satisfaction was short lived as the heat from the blinding sun was making her feel way too overheated. The powerful rays would burn her skin eventually, but right now Aoni was more concerned with quenching her thirst. Her dehydration combined with the mini heat waves were beginning to make her see things for a while she lay transfixed, watching the images that werent there. But it wasnt long before her body closed itself off again, this time she barely noticed the transition from consciousness to darkness.

He didn't want her sword to use it. Nay, he didn't need any use for it. The White Blood was more than adequate to deal with the opponents Glorfindel faced between the mine entrance and the large deposit of ruby in the center of the mine. He had merely taken the High Elf's sword so she couldn't somehow cut herself free.

After cutting a bloody swath through the guards of the mine, the elf came upon what he needed: the gem deposit of the Eye of the Relruan. Using his zweihander, Glorfindel skillfully and dexterously carved and sliced a ruby in the shape of a pentagram from it. Holding this smooth, polished stone in his hand, Glorfindel set off out the mine entrance.

Outside, in the sun, he found the high-elf, still bound hand and foot, passed-out from lying prone in the sun due to exposure. Now, this bitch would pay for getting in his way. He hefted her unconscious body up onto his shoulder, and then set off down the winding mountain paths......
