Frustrated now with the outcome of the night, Mab threw her hands to her face, running them down slowly so as to stretch the skin. It felt rather nice. She had only wished for a few drinks with her friend, not an all-crew party. She stood and watched as her right-hand man used intimidation tactics to shoo away the violent stay-behinds who had decided brawling was better than following orders. The should have listened the first time. She was higher in rank than them anyway. She smiled at Sozen as he turned with the metal pole twined with his arms. He was rather adorable at times. The sounds of shouting from outside caused her to roll her eyes slightly. Were they still continuing to fight? Even after they had been told to turn in? Before either she or her comrade could speak, the loud bang of a ballista firing could be heard, and she rushed for the door as the sounds of distant breaking were heard. Had they met another ship? Would they be hostile and armed? Questions rushed through her mind as she ran out to the lower deck, approaching one of the ballista-men for answers. "M'lady, we've encountered a trade ship," he told her in a frightened manner. What a weak man. She looked out across the waters. A man was shouting orders she could not hear, until the flurry of arrows shot across the open space between them. Most would not reach the ship's deck, landing in the water or the side of the vessel, but others hit the deck near the railings, and one ballista-man was injured, dragged off, and replaced. The new man, orderless, immediately fired another ballista. A hole was made, and a few archers fell into it. Odd. She would never had been so dumb... but, she figured, they were simply untrained traders, never meant for combat. "Capt'n, orders?" She turned, puzzled, to look at Sozen. Sure, he had called her captain for a long time, but now of all times... in combat. She had never experienced that. The feeling was nice, being looked to for instruction, holding respect. She rather preferred it to taking orders from some-ought else. However, it was odd none-the-less, and caught her off guard, as she merely stared at them a moment. "Orders? Well, I tell you, I'm rather greedy and I'd like to see what they have there, but above all of that we need to be safe, and they're armed. So I say first, try to sink 'em. If we never see what they're carryin', we won''t miss it, no?" With that said, she would turn from him to check on each of the ballista-men, walking along the deck, still bootless. She rather despised the captain's cowardice. In times of battle, he simply stowed away in his cabin, leaving others in charge. Sozen was really the better of them at combat issues, but for the time being he was oddly looking to her for battle orders. She just shrugged off the odd feeling and took control as best she could. Looking over at the captain's door, a small phrase would escape her lips, loud enough for the few men around her, and possibly Sozen if he had followed her, to hear. "Damned coward." |

And so it seemed the sorcerer had found himself it yet another of the countless combat situations under his belt, and with a rather nonchalant demeanor about him he seemed to carry himself without worry nor even the slightest bit of disturbance. He'd not be scared of a trading ship, not in the least, not unless that ship was of course armed to the teeth in weaponry and soldiers - maybe then he'd worry a bit. With arms still slung over the metal pole jade slates could only watch the female as she moved about, and of course he was quick to look around and observe the small battle that was taking place. The occasional arrow would whiz passed him, and Sozen wouldn't even flinch in the slightest as the arrows would seemingly be guided away from the areas near him - he could only assume this would be because of the strong magical power surrounding him. He'd follow behind his captain, well, maybe not the captain by title, but the one he knew as the real captain. "Orders? Well, I tell you, I'm rather greedy and I'd like to see what they have there, but above all of that we need to be safe, and they're armed. So I say first, try to sink 'em. If we never see what they're carryin', we won''t miss it, no?" He'd nod downwards to show he understood and would follow through, and it was then the metal pole across his shoulders was slid downwards as he'd grasp the cold metal pole with but a single hand. With a twirl of his wrist the pole was rotated quickly in a large circle with a whoosh, and ramming the blunt end that was the tip into the ground he'd walk forth towards the railings where the combat was taking place. Another pair of ballista shots were let off, the massive arrows would plow through the weak hull of their ship as the wood would splinter, with large holes opened up in their side you could partially see into their ship, it seemed to be multiple wooden boxes of sorts. Almost simultaneously the small group of archers aboard with the traders would ready their arrows, and pulling back a small volley was unleashed on the pirates once more. It was quite easy to pick out their inexperience, seeing as some arrows would bounce harmlessly against the side, or be a mile off as they'd blast right over the deck and over the heads of the men on board. Some however would get lucky and hit a pirate or two, but every wound Sozen could see from that last strike were simple flesh wounds. A single arrow would find its way to himself it seemed, he'd watch as the thin wooden shaft would soar across the skies, and closing in on him in just seconds he'd simply stare forth. With minimal effort would the metal pole me moved before his chest, and with perfect accuracy it would intercept the steel tip. A loud clang and the arrow would deflect off the pole, and with an annoyed look about him the sorcerer would look across to the trade ship, more specifically to the archer who'd taken that shot. Lips curled into an expression of hatred, and it was with a commanding aura about him he'd move to relay the orders to the pirates manning the artillery. "Hit them at the waterline!" It was loud and roared to all the men firing the weapons, and with the command issued the sounds of the ballistas being released yet again were but music to his ears. One of the large projectiles was far off target, it would slam into to middle of their boat again; opening another hole, but again it was rather useless cosmetic damage. However, the second shot was better, although it had not hit precisely where would be the most damaging the ballista would puncture the wood of the boat near the water line, although not completely on it. With the tide and the moving water it was indeed seeping into the lowest levels of their ship, and slowly but surely the lucid and salty water of the sea would be overtaking them. In the mean time however the shapeshifter was quick to move back to Mab's side, "Capt'n, I advise we send out a boarding crew.." With the enemy ship beat up and now crippled it seemed best to overthrow them with a horde of pirates, armed with their scimitars and cutlasses alike they'd be able to move quick to cleave into the archers and crew aboard, and from there the loot would be theirs, it was definitely an intriguing course of action - that was for sure. |

"Hit them at the waterline!" He was always so commanding. She loved it. Her small frame didn't allow her the total respect that a large man like himself could gain. Sure, she could intimidate if she wished, and take control, but she had to work for it. Sozen had always been rather naturally convincing. She longed for such capability. She had always been an underling. When would it be her turn to command? He was also so clever in the ways of battle. She had never been one for confrontation, and had never truly honed the skills in that department. That was why she liked to keep him near her. Also, he made for rather good company, and his speech impressed her. Rather high-class for such a lowly career as a pirate. She envied his eloquence. For in her home, she had never been taught such ideals as speaking well, and had been placed in the lowest form of education, eventually lacking the luster of the elves in her speech. She didn't even have any form of accent, especially not now that she had lived with brutes for over half of what she'd had with her brethren. Hell, if she'd made that order, she'd have said something stupid... like "shoot the bottom," which wasn't nearly as helpful as a particular spot to aim for. She wished she were so clever. Either way, now was not the time to be bothered with such trivial matters, they were attacking a trade ship, and doing rather well, as they had made a hole near where Sozen had requested. Soon, though, he was approaching her. She assumed it was for permission for something she didn't wish to do, but she'd allow him to do what he wished. He was the professional here. "Capt'n, I advise we send out a boarding crew.." As she'd expected, something she hadn't wished to do. But she supposed it was because you could now see the large boxes inside the ship. They did have a bit of extra space to fill in the hull before they came into port, so she supposed it wouldn't hurt to take a bit more. She just hoped they got all of their crew off the ship before it began to sink. Their own ship now had a hole near the water that was having water slowly compile into it. "Your call, expert. Just make sure we don't lose any men to it sinking, and if you're going over, make sure you come back with more than you left with. See if they have any food while you're there, too. I'm incredibly hungry for something that's... not tasteless." With that she would turn away, watching over the men preparing for boarding. She would approach the navigator, informing him of their plans and requesting he bring them closer to the ship for boarding. "We're approaching their ship! Everyone be on your guard!" Below her she heard the frantic moving of chairs from the captain and the breaking of glass. Surely, the coward was now crouched below his desk, wrapped in a blanket like some damned four year old. Coward. She'd smile and look out over at the approaching ship. She could see them scurrying in fear as they approached. They were nervously grasping swords, standing awkwardly with the blades in front of them. She hopped up onto the rail, holding onto the ropes beside her. This should be interesting. |

Despite this being but a small skirmish in the sea Sozen couldn't help but be excited, he always enjoyed winning and testing his talents when it came to strategy and warfare, and with this being but a simple trading boat armed with novice archers at best resistance was simply futile. Heck, he was probably able to do this one on his own, but for safe measures others would come along, and it would not be long before the shapeshifter would strike fear and horror into their hearts, and it would only be a matter of moments before they'd be finished off. The sounds of battle were all to audible, and for some odd reason the noises of death and destruction struck him as aurally pleasing, combined with the incessant splashing of the water and the sounds of the wind against the sails this was turning out to be quite the pleasing environment for this tactician. But yet again the sorcerer found himself moving to Mab to gain permission before moving ahead with any plans, although he knew that she would more than likely have been thinking the exact same things. "Your call, expert. Just make sure we don't lose any men to it sinking, and if you're going over, make sure you come back with more than you left with. See if they have any food while you're there, too. I'm incredibly hungry for something that's... not tasteless." Sozen would nod his head in acknowledgment of her words and requests, and with a small smirk he himself would feel the boost to his ego being called the 'expert', and maybe it was true, seeing as Sozen was easily the oldest and most experienced, on a boat full of humans this was almost always the same result. As a matter of fact, Mab was the only non-human he'd had the pleasure of working with abord a pirate ship, and he wouldn't be surprised if he was the only non-human she'd worked with, of course, he heavily doubted she even knew what his race was seeing as he held a human appearance. And with that the female would take off to go meet the likes of the navigator, in the mean time the sorcerer was quick to move the sides of the ship as he'd position himself near the railings and the many ropes and planks the pirates would utilize to get to the enemy ship, and with left hand wrapped around a rope and right hand around the pole he'd merely stare across to the large trade ship - there was about to be a slaughter. "We're approaching their ship! Everyone be on your guard!" It was at this time Sozen would step up atop the railing as would a number of other men, and silent and sturdy they would hold their ground as they waited for the command, and alas as the pirate ship would move and navigate around the crippled ship they would reach a position where they were close enough to begin the invasion and boarding process, and with a brisk inhale of the salty air that was beginning to feel quite cold he'd let forth a shout, "Board the ship!" And with words spoken multiple pirates could be seen swinging from their ropes and positions along the railings as they'd swing quickly and leap from the rope, with thuds would the men land along the ship in all different locations, armed with blades would they begin the robbery. With a jump upwards Sozen would wrap around the rope himself as he'd leap off the ship, swinging with great speed he'd feel the flutters of butterflies in his chest as he'd swing above the deep, dark oceans. But a simple thud would mark his entrance, and with a slow turn jade slates would set their gaze 'pon the traders, with a blank expression he'd begin to walk forward, the raid was now in progress. |

The small girl looked on as Sozen and several other crew members climbed upon the railing, ready to board. She called an order, she would not have them run from them. "Bring out the grapnels! Don't let them run away! Our men will be going over soon, quickly, men!" She dropped deftly from the railing, grabbing one of the large throwing-hooks that were connected to the ship. The item was twisted above her head, preparing for a long throw across the distance between the ships. The roped would ensure that the ship could not simply sail away with their men on board. Her aim was strong, a benefit of her elven blood. Not that it mattered, a ship was a large enough target for most to hit, but she liked to keep in practice. Her spot was between to of the archers, a nice strong-looking piece of the railing. Her shot was great, and she pulled in the line, the hook wrapping tightly around the railing. she tight the knot shorter, keeping the rope tight enough that the other ship couldn't remove it, and watched as other sailors did the same. She looked over at Sozen. So calm, possibly even happy, about raiding a ship. She smiled a bit. The situation wasn't life-threatening, so she found it alright to let that smile slip as she gazed upon the male. He was truly her favorite person. As he stood upon the riling with the others, the wind blew across him just right, and she felt an odd feeling in her stomach. She frowned. Maybe she was hungry... but usually it growled for hunger. She looked away and the feeling subsided. She looked on as her crew-mates swung across the space on ropes. She had never really enjoyed staying on the ship, but someone had to take control on this side of things, their captain surely wouldn't. Again, the word coward came to mind. She smiled again as the feeling returned to her insides, watching Sozen's reactions to the others as he landed on the ship, looking on at them, prepared for anything. He was a brave one. She turned to help the crew-persons remaining on the ship, she tied a few knots on the grapnels, turning to one crewman who appeared to soon be leaving to the other side. "After you've finished, I'm leaving it to you to release the grapnels. Don't let them drag us down, too." The man nodded as he swung himself across the opening across the sea. Now, as all the archers from the trader ship were occupied fighting hand-to-hand, the people aboard their own ship had nothing to do, and all she could do now was pace the deck, waiting for their return, worrying and hoping that Sozen would return unscathed. She hated seeing and treating the injured. |

The mood as just right, calm as ever the sorcerer was making his way towards the enemy ship via a simple rope, and before he knew it he watched with jade sates as Mab continued to impress him with her commanding ability. With several ropes and hooks thrown across to the enemy ship this would effectively hold them in place as they'd be overrun and boarded, and with their own ship anchored and sails rolled up they'd not be moving anywhere, and this allowed to opportunity of the large planks that served as bridges for the pirates to travel across en masse. Indeed, the pirates were swift and merciless in their execution, in just a few moments they'd battered, crippled, restrained and raided a ship, the outcome was likely that none would be left standing. In fact, Sozen was the only one carrying a blunt weapon, the other pirates had a variety of sabers, cutlasses, and scimitars, although not the best of quality they were indeed lethal, and it was just a few moments after landing aboard the ship that he'd actually be able to hear the first blow. With a sickening slice the scimitar of a pirate was swung and dropped down along the arm of one of the bowmen as he went to knock in another arrow, only to have his entire arm dismembered at the elbow in a crimson mist. The shapeshifter would not flinch, cringe, or even seem to really care, instead he would traverse across the deck with a grace none of the pirates could compare to. He'd barely been on the deck for 15 seconds before he'd hear shouts from the enemy crew behind him, so it seemed they'd had a mild number of fighters aboard too, well, actually they looked like deckboys wielding crude blades, and with pole flawlessly twirled in his wrist a look of anger overcame him. How dare these useless commoners defy his will, they had the audacity to even try to attack him! Most definitely these men would receive their punishment, and with the full power of the sorcerer unleashed a punish shockwave was emitted from his body due to the mere concentration of magical energy alone. Near him a wooden door simply collapsed in on itself due to the slam of energy, and the men approaching him were knocked backwards as they'd stumble, and with his calmness still remaining Sozen would shoot them a deathly stare. Regaining their composure the men that numbered in three would resume their rush, and it was with but a deft movement of his arm the long metal pole was swung outwards. Being taller than them he naturally had more reach, but the fact he had a pole much longer than their blades he was able to strike before they'd even enter their appropriate range the blunt end of the pole had already smashed into the skull of one of them. Instantly he was down as the skin over his head would split and gush blood, for these were no ordinary strikes. Despite being on the weaker side in physical strength these attacks were fueled and powered by the massive reserves of magical energy, and they would help him deliver a blow much stronger than he ever could on his own. The man that was struck was thrown sideways from the blow alone and thrown right off the side of the ship, and with fear in their eyes the other two had slowed their advance as they grew cautious, but they'd not have time to react. Quickly Sozen twisted his body and torso as the pole was spun overhead, and with arms extending the pole was brought in an arc as it would collide with the jaw of one man, only to travel from there to smash into the head of the other. Whatever the sorcerer had struck on them was broken for sure, and with squeals of pain the men were instantly smashed and cut open as blood would be spilled from the tears in their flesh. These men too were struck with such force they'd be simply knocked overboard, and with the blood of their wounds looking out so profusely this would only serve to bring in another threat; sharks and other predators. By this time anybody thrown overboard was surely being mauled and torn into by the beasts of the sea, and simply continue forward Sozen was searching for the entrance to the lower levels, it was from here he could coordinate a group effort to remove the cargo and get off the ship before it was too late. |

Choosing rather to be a bystander in this particular event, the female would resume her post atop a railing, watching out for injuries and lost men. So far, they were greatly over-powering the traders, and she was not worried. Most trade ships wouldn't have some "secret weapon" shit either. They were just too unsuspecting for that. Arrows will be sufficient, they would think, but they would think in hindsight after they met up wit ha pirate crew, thinking, I knew this would be a bad idea or I told them so... Such thinking was childish and petty. She'd not leave herself to such ideas, choosing to go with the flow. What happened happened, and you couldn't change the past, no matter how hard you wanted to. Her eyes caught sight of her favorite pirate, kicking ass as expected. Now, two of the men came at him nervously, and he smashed them both heartily, one flying into the sea. she peered down into the water. Dark shapes were moving beneath the waves, and trickles of blood flowed between them. The creatures would catch the scent and move onward, chasing down the man who had just gone overboard. She grimaced as he was dragged under, a scream and gurgle was all that was heard before silence and both he and the dark shape disappeared. Red spots began to appear on the surface where he had been and she looked away. Best not to get involved in such girlish emotions. She hopped from the railing after watching Sozen prepare a theft crew, as most of the traders had been taken out or surrendered. She would head to the men on the lower deck. "Men, they're preparing cargo retrieval. All hands prepare for filling the hold. Add more planks to the bridge, and keep those grapnels taught." She herself would move to help with adding three more planks to the bridge. Anything heavier than a few men would snap a single plank, and so she made the crew push the planks together, creating a two by two bridge, two on bottom, and two stacked on top of those. That should be able to hold them. |

So many underestimated the physical talent of the sorcerer, and with a perfect demonstration put forth today he was sure none of these men would look down on his ability ever again, seeing as he was able to defeat 3 men single-handed without even so much as a scratch on him. Indeed, this shapeshifter was able to combine his magical talent with his smarts in order to destroy 3 men with but a metal pole, and with no further resistance visible he had turned to be on his way. A quick glance was shot to his side as he'd look back to the pirate ship, and with a single jade orb coming to a stop on Mab he'd merely look at her for a moment, and what would probably look like a motion that was out of place considering the violent environment he'd simply..wave. However he was quick to get back into his more ruthless state of mind, and turning away the bloodied pole was twirled upwards as it would come to rest along his right shoulder once more, and with nonchalant movements he'd move towards the main area of the deck. The crippled state of the ship was soon becoming a tad bit more obvious, and you could feel its odd movements in the water and the fact you could tell it was lower than before. With most of the crew and men aboard slaughtered there was blood all across the wood, but there would be a small group that had surrendered and were spared. With a commanding presence the sorcerer would come to a stop in the middle of the deck as he'd stand before the captured crew, and among them was none other than their captain. The captain of this vessel would catch a glimpse of Sozen's smile, and with anger overcoming him the man would burst forth with a barrage of curse words and other mean things directed towards the adviser, and Sozen could only take pleasure in knowing not responding and holding his smile would only anger him further. With arms tied behind him at the wrists the captain wasn't going to be able to attack him or anything, so with arm outstretched one of the younger pirates would quickly move to hold the metal pole for him, and with graceful movements the sorcerer would stride forward to stand just about a foot away from the captain. He would crouch down to be on level with the sitting captain, and with his smirk still apparent he would speak, "How amusing. You get all red when you're angry." And before he knew it the captains arm was being thrown towards him, and in his hand was but a small knife. Apparently the men hadn't searched any of them for weapons, and in the time they had been captured the captain had a blade on him and managed to cut the ropes at his wrists. The sorcerer was wide-eyed as he'd see the movement, and quickly throwing his head to the right he aimed to avoid the strike, yet he'd not move completely out of range. The sharp edge of the steel blade would carve into his left cheek just under his eye, and immediately grunting out in pain Sozen threw his left arm to the side in an attempt to latch on to the mans arm. Successful in his attempt the sorcerer was now pissed, and with right arm thrown forth with a fist made he'd drive his knuckles into the man's nose. Sure, maybe he wasn't all that strong, but that didn't mean he couldn't fight, and now he was just going to kick this guys ass. "Piece of shit!" Right arm was pulled back and thrown again as he'd punch the man's face numerous times along his face all the while keeping his knife hand at bay. "Stay the fuck back!" Sozen would yell between gritted teeth at the men who were rushing to his aid, and 'pon hearing the blood-lust and the orders themselves they were quick to stop in their tracks. A blow was felt along his chest as he was caught off-guard, and knocking the air right out of him he'd look down to see the captain had thrust his knee upwards. Sozen would groan in pain, but instead of freezing up he'd only retaliate, jumping forward with his head he'd smash his skull into the nose of the captain, already beaten along his face this blow was sure to cause immense pain, although if it just felt that same he'd soon feel another pain - that of his nose breaking. Blood would be smeared along the sorcerer's head as amaranth strands were roughed-up in a mess, and feeling the captain's strength giving in the shapeshifter would quickly jump forward from his crouched position with a knee of his own. The hard bone was thrust into the jaw of the man, and with a loud click follow by a grunt of pain the man was knocked right over. Sozen was quick to apply weight and pressure to the man's hand that still held the weapon as he'd press his knee into his wrist, and with a quick punched delivered to the side on his forearm he was hoping to loosen his grip. As expected the pain would cause him to open his hand, and grabbing the knife without hesitation the captain was really fucked now. The steel blade was brought down with a thrust as the air would whistle cleanly, and with the slightest of hindrances it would puncture the flesh of his stomach. The blade was pushed deep into his gut, yet it would not end there, with a violent twist of his wrist the blade was turned in order to rip him open, and from there the blade was pulled out. A crimson liquid would cover the blade as well as the bottom of Sozen's hand, and with another vicious stabbing he'd pierce the right side of the man's chest. And finally, having his fill of violent behaviour the sorcerer would swing his arm upwards, and with a final act of brutality drive the blade so far through his throat the blade would exit the other side of his neck and stab partially into the wood. Rarely did Sozen lash out this violently or take things personal, but for some reason he felt to need to destroy this man, and still quite vicious and angered he was quick to shout out, "Stop sitting around! Grab the fucking cargo!" The men were quick to move downwards into the cargo hold, and it was without hesitation they emerged a small time later carrying a variety of large boxes. And from his position over the dead man the sorcerer would merely watch the men crossing the planks and the like back to their own ship. Breathing deeply however he would finally come to a stand, "Faster!" The boat was, of course, sinking. |

The small girl stood leaned against the railing, waiting for the crew to return with the bit of cargo they would retrieve from the sinking hip. It was with a smile she watched as Sozen took command of the pirates. They had clearly overcome their enemy, and he now approached the captain of the ship. The man was obviously infuriated, and she saw Sozen crouch before him with a grin on his face. He spoke and her smile faded as the captain lashed out with a knife, slicing across his face. She hopped up to the planks with immeasurable speed, running across the deep waters to reach the ship just as Sozen began to smash his face in. She had left a man below her in charge of the ship while she was gone. As she ran to assist him, he would lash out at those coming to his aid. "Stay the fuck back!" He was kneed in the chest, only fueling his wrath upon the man. She had never seen him so vengeful. The captain had merely gotten angered at pirates taking over his ship, but now Sozen was beating the shit out of him. She winced as he rammed his head into the captain's nose, creating a dull crack she assumed was the captain's head hitting the wood behind him and nose breaking. The knife was removed from his grasp as Sozen took it. 'Good,' she thought. 'He's unarmed now.' But this was not the end, no. Sozen proceeded to take the knife and thrust it into the man's stomach. "Sozen!" she shouted. There was no reason to slaughter the man. He twisted the knife into the internals of the man, blood began to gush from his mouth, and blood from his abdomen seeped over Sozen' hands. The blade was removed once more and thrust into the man's chest. In his anger he must not have heard her cries, and so she approached silently, stopping behind him just as the knife was shoved through the captain's neck. She continued to stand behind him as he finished, and he would shout an order before she gave away her presence. "Stop sitting around! Grab the fucking cargo!" She made to move forward, but he stood, ordering them to go faster. Understandable. The boat was sinking after all. And as he watched the men moving the cargo, she would stand in front of him, looking up with a somewhat scared expression. At least he could protect her, but now she would be forever afraid of making him angry. She'd run her right thumb across his left cheek, wiping the blood from the fresh wound and smearing it on her pants, cleaning her hand of the substance. "Sozen, that was a rather frightening display." Her voice was calm as she spoke. The dead and bloodied body beside her not fazing her in the least. The carnage wasn't the issue, it was who had caused it. He had always been rather calm and clean with his fighting and attacks, even killings, as far as she had seen. This was new, and she'd rather not experience it in-person. She looked him over for other injuries, quite motherly, and spoke quickly, concerned. "All I saw was the knife slice and I came over. Did he get anything else? Does your head hurt?" She lightly touched his forehead, standing on her toes and pulling herself up using his shirt to try to see it properly. "You did hit him pretty hard, or else his nose wouldn't have practically fallen off." She didn't want him to freak out that she was so close to him, but she was genuinely concerned. She hoped he'd notice and take note of her care for him, but men could be rather dense at times. "When we return to the ship I'll patch you right up." Great, an opportunity to tough him. she hoped there were under-clothes injuries, but then shook the idea away, for fear he could read minds. This new emotion made her very paranoid. |

It was on this day for some unknown reason the sorcerer had displayed acts of brutality, for a brief moment he had trailed away from his cool and calm ways, and in that small time he'd become one of the things he hated most. Immediately he was overcome with regret, so much so that he'd have ignored the fact that he had blood pouring from him, and so much that he had never heard Mab nor her approach. Amaranth strands hung down in a mess, and jade orbs would be covered by fleshy lids, and with a sigh he'd merely stand in place. And to his surprise once eyes would open the one who he had not wanted to see this most was standing right before him, with a scared expression at that, and immediately his heart sunk. Coming forward the small female was soon wiping the blood from his cheek, and without so much as speaking or even moving he just stood like a statue as he'd gaze in her direction, a small frown from evident on his features. He couldn't understand why he had acted that way, maybe it was because the captain almost outsmarted and killed him with that attack, or maybe it was because he was still a bit tipsy from the drinking he was doing earlier, or maybe it was that he knew he'd taken a blow whilst Mab was watching. "Sozen, that was a rather frightening display." "Mab..I'm sorry, I-" The switch between calling her captain and calling her Mab would show the seriousness of it all, he had never wanted to act in such a way, and the added presence of one he cared about only made it worse on him. "When we return to the ship I'll patch you right up." He was cut off quickly by her words. However, the concern she had for him and the fact she didn't seem all that fazed by the man's death was definitely helping, with Sozen knowing she hadn't be frightened or hated him for such acts was a weight off his chest. And with the frown disappearing leaving only a blank expression he'd reply quietly, "My head is fine..My chest though.." Hand would slide down his chest to where he was hit, and looking down he'd notice his white undershirt was stained with blood where he had been hit. The blow alone was enough to cut his skin, and if that wasn't enough the captain was wearing some sort of metal on him, and that was more than likely the cause of the cut. With hand held over the wound he knew he could trust Mab to look at it, although for the time-being he'd need to apply pressure to the wound, and with a nod of his head he'd speak towards her quietly again, "Thank you." And with nothing further he'd begin walking towards the planks that led to the ship, with the last of the cargo effectively taken and the boat on the brink of sinking it was time for them to abandon ship. "Shall we?" Arm was hooked outwards for her to link appendages with him should she so choose, and with his voice once again holding that eloquent and confident speech he was known for he was hoping they could forget that about incident, or her at least. |

The fact he had called her Mab just came to her attention as she finished looking him over. He spoke, telling her everything was fine with his head, but then a hand went to his chest, to a blood-soaked spot she had assumed came from the captain. He applied pressure to it as he should, and she set in her mind she would have to look at that as they came onto the ship. She looked up as he spoke. "Thank you." The words were unexpected, and she wasn't accustomed to hearing them in the first place, least-most from him. She blushed as she lowered her eye from his face back to the spot on his chest. He began to walk away, and stopped to hold an arm out to her in a gentlemanly fashion, back to Sozen as she knew him. She giggled a bit and ran to him, jumping onto his back rather than taking the arm, wrapping her legs and bare feet around his middle as she spoke. "Go, horsie, go!" She waited for him to carry her across the planks, whipping her hand behind him and giving a small "hyaa" around the middle of the planks, egging him faster. As they reached the other side, she would drop from the piggy-back and take his hand in her own, chest fluttering at her forward-ness, and lead him to the kitchen, where she would clean him up and deal with his injuries. She'd set him at the table facing away from it and release his hand, moving to get bandages, a rag, and some rum, to clean the wound, not to drink. All the water around was salty, so that wasn't an option. She'd place the items on the table beside him and stare at him fora moment. Now she had to take off his shirt. Nervously she moved towards him, placing her hands at the bottom of the article and taking hold of it. Slowly she'd pull it up, being gentle when removing it from the sticky wound. "Lift your arms," she'd say as she removed the shirt completely, pulling it over his head. She then sat back and stared at his torso for a bit. She'd never seen it before, really, and it was nice. She stood and leaned over him a bit, reaching for the rag and the rum. She then turned sideways and sat on one of his legs side-saddle (not straddling, pervert), and wet the rag with the rum, lightly dabbing the damp item onto the wound. It probably stung, but she'd keep with it. It could get infected. When the area around the wound, and the wound itself, had been sanitized, she'd reach for the bandages. Standing, she was between his knees as she held one end of the rolled cloth against his body and began to wrap the white stuff around his chest. The proximity to his body made her warm up, whether from body heat or nerves, she wouldn't know, but she did know she was blushing. And from this distance, she doubted he wouldn't be able to notice. She was already letting him see her nervousness, and she hadn't even cleaned his face yet. That she was dreading a bit. They'd be face to face and she predicted she'd have trouble keeping her eyes away from friend-inappropriate areas of the face. |

With arm hooked outwards he'd expect her to come along to link arms so they could be on their way, little did he know the female was quickly approaching, and with a sudden weight hitting his back he could feel her wrapping her body around him. Luckily he was able to quickly adjust to her weight and not collapse, and with arms moving back to hold on to the upper-sections of her legs the piggy-back had commenced. This was definitely quite the odd sight, two pirates playing around in the middle of a robbery, with one of them injured no less. One thing was for sure, Mab and Sozen were quite the unique pair, and when they were together nothing seemed capable of stopping them, well, from Sozen's point of view anyways. With the command given he'd abandon his casual walk in place for a jog as he'd be carrying her along his back, and with a smile quickly growing he'd take off across the makeshift bridge of planks. A 'Hyaa!' was heard from behind him as he could feel the movement of her arms, and quickly taking off with a fast jog that was near running speed he was quite to clear the length of the planks, and he could already feel the fatigue in his legs from that alone. He was relieved to feel the weight dropped from his back, although he quickly missed her warm body pressed against his, although such thoughts were dismissed when he'd feel her soft hand quickly taking a hold on his. Adjusting his hand as to hold hers as well he followed her steps as he was being guided towards the kitchen area of the ship, and with blood still trailing down his cheek dots of blood would follow him in. He didn't pay much attention to the variety of items she was gathering, he was simply watching her, he couldn't get Mab from his mind really, and probably looking all stupid and big-eyed staring at her he was pretty much oblivious. Luckily Mab would have been guiding him around, and being set up at a table she was quick to position her items, and alas she'd reach for his shirt, arms were sent up vertically as they'd be held straight, and with a pull upwards on her part he'd be left sitting there with his top bare, save for his bandanna. Eye would gaze downwards, the cut was a lot bigger than it felt, and a fair amount of blood was leaking from it, thankfully she was here to aid him with his injuries. "Ouch.." His tone was playful and semi-serious, as Mab would seat herself on his leg and apply the rum and cloth it would sting as the alcohol entered the wound, however he knew this would clean it out and protect him from any infection. However he was more occupied looking downwards as she was sitting on his leg, feeling her body against his again was definitely worth this small pain, and feeling her warmth against him again was something he enjoyed greatly, he wondered why he'd not noticed such things sooner. Yet, upon closer observation he would notice that she was..blushing? Was this as emotionally stirring for her as it was for him? Because he knew he himself was definitely overcome with that butterfly feeling, like he was riding a rollercoaster, although that doesn't make sense cause those haven't been invented yet. "You're pretty good at this.." His voice was soft and gentle, it was quiet so as to not let anybody but themselves hear it as well. Bandages were soon being applied around his torso, with her standing between his knees so close he could feel the warmth of her breath, and the feeling was so overwhelming he actually had to turn his head upwards towards the ceiling because he couldn't handle eye contact at this time. She was so close, so attractive, although he thought such feelings for his captain wouldn't be the best thing, and there was always the chance she didn't feel the same way - and that would probably kill their friendship. But before he knew it the job was done, the white bandages had been applied tightly around his torso and he'd probably have to wear these for a good while, yet he knew that he had one more injury to go; one that would bring him right up close with her; somewhere where he couldn't avert his gaze. "I guess uh..Just my cheek left.." |

She had noticed he had averted his gaze while she was bandaging him. Did he not like her proximity to her? Was she awkward? All these things ran through her mind as she stood up, walking away to get a new rag, as the one she had used was all bloodied now from the wound on his chest. She threw it out the window before reaching for another in the crate by the pantry. She lingered longer than she normally would have, readjusting her thoughts and calming herself. She was just healing his wounds. Nothing more. He didn't think of her like that, so she shouldn't either. She took a deep breath and exhaled as she turned, returning to bend in front of him, looking into his eyes for a moment before looking away and wetting the rag. The soft cloth was pressed to his skin, probably stinging once more, but again, it was necessary, though there were more nerves in the face and so it was probably worse. She felt a bit of guilt, but it was removed when she remembered she was helping him to not die by an infection. Who knows where that knife had been. That guys ass? His lovers ass? A pile of fecal matter? All of the possibilities she came up with were ridiculous and gross, but that was what she did when she worries. She over-thought and exaggerated. For all she thought right now, the man she so cared for had millions of fecal germs running through his veins at this very moment, and it was up to her to get them out. She'd blush once more as she tried to focus only on his cheek, but she could see his eyes in her peripheral vision and it was throwing her off. he tried to be gentle, but gentle was slow. She was trying not to rip open the wound more, and thus slowness and caution was necessary, but it left her inches from his face for even longer as she cleaned the wound to perfection. she noticed a bit of the blood in his hair, and ran her fingers through it to clean it from the already red strands. As she finished she'd catch eye contact with him, blush deepening. She'd never been this close to a male. Let alone one she was infatuated with as such. |

With the bloodied rag discarded out the window he took the time to look over his bandages, so far it all seemed good, the bandages were nice and tight over his chest and would smother the wound; stopping the blood flow. All that remained would be the slice under his eye, and this was the worse injury of the two. The knife had carved into his cheek fairly deep, and fortunately for him he was able to evade the blow that was aimed to stab straight through his eye. With the flesh separated he'd be left with a nice scar along his cheek for some time he predicted - until he could tap into his morphing abilities of course. But soon Mab was near again, this time much closer though. Armed with rum and another cloth the alcohol was quickly applied to the rag, and with it pressed against his face he'd feel the sharp pain surging throughout his face. He'd hiss in pain and slightly wince, though he'd do his best not to look like a complete bitch in front of her. The wound was being cleaned of bacteria and germs though, and that was all that mattered. For in a dirty place like a pirate ship an open wound could easily turn into an infection, and from there entire limbs could be lost in the process. With faces held so close together the slow movements of her hands would guide the cloth in and around the wound as it was being thoroughly cleaned out, yet from this close all he could do was but peer into her eyes with jade orbs. Mouth was slightly open, but of course he didn't notice, as smart as he was he lost most of his common sense. It made it even worse when he noticed the red hue of her blush had deepened, cause this would only cause the sorcerer himself to blush as the blood would rise to his cheeks, and briefly closing his eyes he tried to magically supress his blush so it would go unnoticed - but he must not have known that spell. D: Eye contact was made one eyes would open up, and suddenly overcome with his feelings words would burst forth, although he never intended such, "You're cute..I mean!" He couldn't believe what he said, and quickly searching through the depths of his brains to come up with something to save himself he was at a loss for words, "I mean..what?" He'd play it off as if he didn't know what he had said, or hoping she didn't hear it either, foolish boy. D; |
