"So...brisk" The Words etched out of gaunt man, his figure perched firmly on the line of boundary that separated Fincayra from the lands of Gramarye. His situation was quite, in a sense, peculiar, for only days ago he was sitting in the library of Fincayra's own Queen. It was there that he and his other companions had gotten together, mixing up plans for the protection of Rika-- the queen --and the lands. Things did not go as well as he would have liked however, ending with his own separation from the group to adventure away, maybe to even meet new people. Thusly, at the border exiting his former home land, Chase found himself wandering into a new area, the bridge point of the two lands; Dunil Orith. Crimson pools would leave they're holds to peer around, his gaze shrouded nevertheless as darkness overtook the lands. Muffled footsteps allowed the young celestial being to continue forward, his frame taking in the location with every breath inhaled. What a nice place.. Meandering for minutes, Chase investigated the area with a sprint, passing through the evergreens before plowing himself in the pure liquid that filled the desolate grounds. Was every land plagued with large lagoons? But he wouldn't stay in the large mass of water for long, deciding to exit only a few minutes later, proceeding down the road a few more miles before stopping at the sight of a cabin. It, like the land, was pretty barren, not even the owner of the cabin was around. Strange thing too, for such a thing to exist without a single being around was pretty damn weird. "Food...I need to get food. Damn." He muttered to himself, stripping down to only his boxers before throwing his belongings in the cabin and returning to the long lake that still even after miles laid right beside him. Leaping forward into it, he'd dive to the bottom, allowing his body to relax itself as he swam around; looking for any shread of life. Only after a many minutes would he find anything, still no humans however, but several large fish migrating along the lake's bottom. Having reached the location of the aquatic vertebrates, Chase began to round up his soon-to-be dinner, grabbing only three of the cold blooded animals before heading back to the surface. There he would throw the animals, taking a brief moment to round up a gallon of water before bringing himself back onto the land. Placing the fish and the water in a big heep, Chaz sat down, eyeing the surrounding area as he laid back--his eyes closing wearily while he drifted to slumber on the hard land. "Hmmm, good stuff, yeah." |

It must seem odd to others who came upon her, that a woman her age would travel alone. Yet it was quite obvious that she could take care of herself from the sword lashed to her side, the tight black pants and the black shirt with a red armband on her upper arm. One with good knowledge of dealer in death would know she was an assassin, and not just that but a born killer as well. Pulling her black leather glove over her right hand she placed it up above her and as a flash of feathers fell from the sky. Sora her falcon dove down, wings held tight to her sides as she came down from the clouds. Opening her wings she pulled back and fluttered gracefully to her masters hand landing on her wrist. Long curved claws grasped the glove as wings folded back, in her beak was a very large bird, perhaps one bigger then herself. Stroking the bird on the head Lydia smiled and said with a pleased voice, "Sora my friend, I see you have brought us a meal...okay half for you and half for me my lovely friend." The caw from a raven echoed from a nearby tree that forced Lydia's stair upon the ebony creature. "I haven’t forgotten you...my guardian angel. You are my soul, if you are ailed so am I. I need to make sure you stay fit in order for me to live." The black bird spread his wings and took off into the air, his voice hissed a whisper inside her head like a phantom, "Follow me." Lydia stood still for a moment more and threw her hand up slightly so that Sora would take flight. Her falcon rose up overhead but stayed close enough for Lydia to see her. "Come Sora...it seems or friend has us on another mission." Chasseing after the feathered spirit she kept her pace with his. The subtle sound of a heartbeat filled her ears. Clever bird was leading her to other people, or perhaps even danger. No he would never do that, this bird made it his life’s work to keep her from harm. Before long she could see a cabin growing ever closer from the distance. The raven first landed on the roof and let out a few caws at Lydia. "Hello, anyone here?" She called out hoping no one would answer, but there was someone there, she could hear them. Sora perched herself back upon Lydia's glove and made a screeching sound, the high pitched cry that falcons were known for. |

Words of a soft voice would be uttered. By another, not by Chase to whom was still laced tightly in slumber, his thoughts naught of the surrounding area but of other people--his friends. As such, her words would fall on deaf ears for all but a moment, the sound of her voice having not shook him out of sleep, but her presence alone. Shaking what was left of his sleepy manor away, Chase proceeded to move from his spot, walking silently in the dark only to stop inches away from the newcomer; his eyes unable to transfix her form from within the darkness. It was still rather cold, the ominous breeze sending shivers down his spine as he stood there, perched at the spot and half naked. "Why is a woman like you walking in the darkness by herself" He asked, his eyes squinting at the lady while they adjusted to the sheer darkness. Stepping forward once more, Chase studied the new stranger, eye focused on only her as he pulled out what seemed to be a cigarette from his pocket. Bringing his free hand up to scratch at his mental, he proceeded to place the makeshift means of a blunt into his mouth, stopping only momentarily to light it with his handy lighter. Shrugging off the habit in which consumed his life, he continued to watch the transfixed figure, her animal companion--a bird-- having caught his attention. "Thats one hell of a bird lady, you've got good taste." He remarked, his comment referring to his celestial race in which embodied wings. But she did not know that, rather she did not know anything about him, not a name nor a reason to why he was out in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps she was the owner of the cabin behind his form? Regardless of any of these possibilities, and without even waiting for her to even answer or say anything, he turned and walked back to his new 'camp', sitting down in the moonlight as he waited for her to follow. Hopefully she would, for the spot he sat in would give a perfect glimpse of her appearance to him and with it, he would have the decision on if she had to die, or if she did not. Hopefully it would be the latter, as it would be a shame to let a good looking woman die. "I'm Chase." |

Her silver blue eyes focused on the stranger, instinctively she grabbed for her sword hilt as he drew near. Showing no threat to her she let go of the sword and quickly moved her hand to her head where she pushed back a few ebony locks. Her hair wavy from the moisture off the lack, and her dark clothing making her blend into he night. "Chase...hello, I am Lydia...and thanks. I myself am a bird person." He would never know just how true that was...she was quite literally a bird person for her soul was linked to a raven, and her body took on some birdlike thoughts. One in particular had crawled up on her ever since her previous condition. Following the stranger to his campsite she sat down on the cold ground and set Sora on the soil beside her so that her feathered friend could eat her catch. Petting her chest softly she whispered to the bird, "There you go baby, enjoy your supper my dearest." Sora was in every aspect her friend and baby, even more so that she had some thoughts of a pesky raven or any bird. Mostly the one perched far from the sote. He knew his life was important. That his death would be Lydia's death and through her the death of someone innocent. Running her hands over Sora's soft feathers she looked up at the young man who was most certainly dashing, but not only that drew her attention on him. There was something...wonderful about him, like apart of her tiny birdlike instinct made her want to be closer to him. His form was very human, but so was hers, and she was anything but human. Many things in the world were deceiving, her raven looked like a normal bird, but he was really the carrier of her soul, this man looked like a normal man, but he gave off strange vibes, and even Lydia. She looked like an average single woman lonely and sick with life when in fact she was married and just having morning sickness which was poorly named. "So what is someone like you doing way out here...I myself was just...trying to get away." Edited by Lydia, Nov 10 2008, 09:34 AM.

Odd. It wasn't her strange demeanor nor her rather unique sense of clothing that made her stand out, no, but it was however, her interesting choice of animal companion that drafted his attention to her so. Chase's expression altered very little as she spoke her subtle words, answering his own question right after asking one for herself. A slight sigh escaped the folds his lips, melting away into a soothing smile -- one that of course he used on many occasions. It wasn't assuring , no, more on the lines of in thought if anything. To be frank he was indecisive, his immobile form unable to decipher the new strangers alliance. Was she a villainous or not? The latter was picked. "Me? Traveling from Fincayra." His voice, soft, low and casual as it vibrated from the confides of his throat. A single hand laced with ivory maw rose as the words departed the area, releasing the beautiful lust of gray as it removed the smoke from his mouth. He'd take a moment, allowing the lit means of cancer to escalate around his lungs, penetrating all vessels that purged his form with delight. Not to long after, dark digits would release they're coil on the foreign object, his arm weaving to the side; soothing the air with an unplagued aroma -- his aroma. The image of the man before the young women seem to leave, distorting from its spot before vanishing with the wind, the figure unable to keep his frame steady as he transported--no ran to her position. Regardless his expression would not alter, his body in a single movement now infront of hers, the coherent soot of vapour expelling from his mouth. The smoke would caress her pale surface, his breath enhancing its power as a dim, yet serious smile crept onto his face. "Allow me to show you why I didn't belong there." |

When he moved closer to her again and got to close for her own comfort by natural reaction she drew her blade and held it between them. Coughing at the smoke she used a free hand to keep it away from her mouth and replied to him with a sarcastic tone, "Please honestly, smoke is not good for babies including the one I am carrying sir." Sure she was a twig, but that was just because she was not that far along, and if she would have been, then she would not be traveling all over the damned earth. Sora ruffled her feathers when Lydia drew her sword, she knew that meant something was up, even if it was a natural reaction she had. Putting her sword back she nodded her head slightly and stepped away from him a little, "Sorry, it's my defensive reflex to draw sword on people, your just lucky I didn't cut your head off, fortunately attacking is not a reflex." She didn't want to be to close to his smoke nor him as a whole. She didn't trust him completely and it was for the best. In all she had two lives to look after and she didn't let her guard down for a moment. Over on the roof the raven beat its wings wildly and cawed at Lydia, he made no attempt to speak to her, but he made sure she was on edge. Why that stupid bird did these things to her she would never know. |
