Aoni stumbled around in the dimly lit tunnel. A few wrong turns had ended left her even further underground than before, and totally lost. She hated goblins now more than ever, after escaping from their grimy dungeons it was their dark tunnels that she'd managed to get lost in. She mentally rebuked herself from coming anywhere near this bloody mountain in the first place, and even more so for allowing her curiosity to get the better of her. How the young beuaty longed to feel fresh air blowing in her hair and to feel the hot sun upon her back. The goblins tunnels were everything that she hated, dark, damp, cold and confining. Two noises seemed to reach her elfish ears at once. One came from behind her, the other from up ahead. For a moment she paused unsure of what to do, until at last she started running, she couldnt identify the source of the noises, but at least up ahead it only sounded singular, whereas behind she could count at least roughly two other footfalls. Panic was coursing through her, making adrenaline surge through her pounding heart and into her bruised legs. The darkness affecting her vision she ran headlong into something..or as it seemed someone. |

Skaren had been navigating threw the tunnels for a while now, both blades slick with goblin blood. The green fluid running off the black and silver steel the crimson runes and detail work showing threw the blood. The young berserker had been slaughtering the little green bastards since he stepped foot into the place. Why? Well he had gotten some information from one of his tribe mates that the goblins had been becoming a little more organized and greater in number, and the black haired youth took it up on himself to thin those numbers a bit. For even a skilled warrior could fall to a clumsy thrust from a rusty sword from a hoard of Goblins, and that was a fate that no one should suffer be they warrior or not. Bright blue eyes focused in the dark faint torch light guiding his path as footsteps that numbered 3 or 4 came rushing his way. Instinctively the berserker slowed and braced himself, standing still in the tunnel itself the dagger in his left hand held in a reverse grip as the curved longsword in his right was held just out towards the wall. Those eyes narrowed as a figure emerged from the shadows. Without a second thought Skaren blasted forward and swept his longsword in an arc like motion aiming to cleave the heads off before they had a chance to do anything. However the attack slowed and shifted mid flow for his eyes caught wind of something. A girl, running for her life it seemed, and react to it Skaren did exactly. Blindly stepping forward fearing the footsteps behind her Skaren continued forward only to catch her with his left arm and side step around her, shifting the momentum and attack pattern from his right arm to his legs, for the moment he stopped and swerved around the dashing girl, Skaren’s left leg shot up and into a goblins chin only for said goblin to be cleaved in two by the longsword that came crashing down in a high arc. The second goblin fell to the same longsword as it cut diagonally across from the first ending him in one fell chop across his shoulder to his hip, both goblins lay in two pieces now. |

For a moment Aoni just stood and gawped at her saviour, before quickly regaining her composure. She had to admit it though, she was impressed, he clearly had enough skill with a blade to not only manage to have killed the vile goblins within minutes but to avoid striking her aswell. Bowing her head respectfully before looking him in the eye, she addressed him gratefully, "My thanks on saving me...but tell me - why are you down here and by any chance do you know the way out?...It just seems like a maze to me" Smiling at him impishly she resisted the urge to ask any more questions save one, "By the way stranger, whats your name?" Her hazel eyes sparkled in under the light of the flaming torches as she waited patiently for his reply. Who ever he was, he would make a good ally of this dark and dismal place alive, and perhaps she could be of some assistance to him too, afterall he wasnt the only one who knew how to weild a blade. |

Skilled he was, due to his training as a child and his natural ability to use both hands equally. Meaning, the youth didn’t have a dominate hand, both his left and right were equal in every way, Skaren would write, throw, eat, and even wield his weapons effectively in both. A rare skill in this world, and its one the boy makes use of as often as possible, so much so that one could say he is abusing it. With a quick flick both to his left and right sides, the caking of green blood flowed off the steel edge and onto the walls. Even goblin blood would rust fine steel if not tended to. Skaren didn’t really take the time to look back at the girl he saved, instead he planned to move deeper still into the tunnels, his aim was to end the goblin chief the guy at the middle of this place, which happened to be not too far off. “Your in too deep… fastest way out is from were you came. If you keep going from were I was it’d take you half a days travel.” Skaren didn’t feel it was her place to know exactly why he was down here, he didn’t half answer her out of arrogance, but rather in an attempt to protect her. The less she knew the better. “My name is Skaren, a warrior from the clan Vakati.” The youth answered, an accent that couldn’t quite be placed in his tongue, as if he wasn’t use to speaking common. Turning his head towards her for the first time since he dashed past her he answered simply… “Follow me or keep going that way, be wary of traps in the other direction though… only the goblins have fallen I didn’t take the time to undo the traps.” |

Aoni scowled, well this was a first. It wasnt that she expected attention off males it was just...the first time one had blatently taken no notice of her, she didnt feel offended, just...miffed. The second thing to suprise her was that he claimed to be a warrior from the clan Vakati, she didnt know why the clan name seemed so familiar, but she was sure she'd heard it somewhere before...perhaps in one of the old tales she was so fond of. Regardless that hardly mattered now. Aoni had been given her two options, either follow him or go it alone. Well she didnt particuarly want to be stuck down there alone, so she might aswell tag along...besides even though she didnt admit it, Aoni secretly hope for a chance to show off her skills aswell. It was becoming tiring how everyone asumed that because she was young, female and at times naive, that she therefore couldnt defend herself, when infact she often more skilled than them. Although she doubted herself in comparison with Skaren. 'Hm Skaren...unusual name' she mused silently to herself, wondering if it had any meaning. As it was she decided to opt for the first option she'd been given. "I'll follow you Skaren - but dont think that I'll be needing your protection...I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself, perhaps I might be able to help you in some way," |

Many know of the tribe, although few know its proper name. Vakati di Dian… meaning Tribe of the Dawn in draconic. Most just associate the tribe with Preah, and with Sujin and Istelle. Which is fine and dandy because the youth here was more than proud to fly under any of those banners, but more commonly known about the masses is the “Dragon Tribe” which is what most normal people call Sujin and his clan of warriors and dragons. It was his home and his way of life, the youth was out here for that reason alone… asked by someone to clear this cave of the green bastards that infested it, and of course himself and his steel gladly obliged. The girl had opted to follow him deeper still and out the other side. Ether choice was a good one, and he didn’t think her too much of a burden to begin with. “Suit yourself, since you can defend yourself keep up. I won’t look back mind you.” In his clan, if its said they can hold their weight in a fight then they are expected to… or die. He didn’t answer that way to be harsh, nor mean. It was just the way he was raised. With a nod signaling he was moving out, the black maned boy stepped forward the steel in each hand poised and ready for a sudden attack. |

Aoni quickly responded to his demand, "Of course I'll keep up - dont let this fragile human form decieve you -there's elven blood in my veins too, speed and agility are a good strength of mine" She grinned at him, then overtaking him she jogged off a little way ahead. One thing she hated was how confining this place was.She lived and breathed freedom and the outdoors, here she felt trapped in the dark confines of the tunnels. When she was far enough ahead to assumingly be out of sight she stopped and waited, taking the opurtunity to check the wounds she'd recieved during her imprisonment. Wincing she recovered them, not wanting Skaren or anyone else for that matter to see the state she was in, besides when her energy returned she would hopefully heal them then. 'Hmm he's taking his time' her mind noted, thinking that perhaps she should return to him, Aoni was about to retrace her steps, not realising how far she'd actually come, but movements and noises further down caught her attention. Curiousity urged her forwards while her logic pulled her back, ignoring all reason, she drew her blade and crept closer the the source in silence, unknowing and slightly uncaring about the full extent of the danger she could be putting herself in. |

(( I changed my equipment… Skaren now has 2 broadswords and a dagger… I’ll be using the broadswords to finish up the topic =D)) The youth quickly put both weapons in a reversed grip manner… easier for travel in tight tunnels and less worry of the blades hitting something or causing a trap to trigger. This was the reason why the youth moved as slow as he did… often in tight tunnels like this, the traps they set for invaders are worse than the goblins. But his new found companion however seemed a little over eager and dashed off ahead. A little pushy, hotheaded and willing to do her part? Those weren’t necessarily bad qualities… but in some situations like this one, it required restraint rather than blind hunger to end thing quickly. After a while she had disappeared from his view, so deep in the tunnel ahead that even the sounds of her footsteps had been drowned out. With a heavy sigh, the youth began to pick up his own pace, if only a little. Forward he took off, until he could hear the sound of steel being released from its sheath. Almost instantly he halted, taking up a slight hop step to keep his foot steps hidden from whatever awaited in the dark. He wouldn’t call… he wouldn’t ask if it were friend or foe… that’d just give his position away to the potential enemy. In tight tunnels like this…. The first strike was important… so… what lie in wait for the two just ahead? |

Aoni silently regretted taking off like that, but it couldnt be helped, she hated to be restrained and wanted out as fast as possible, also she didnt want Skaren to pick up on the fact that she was wounded from the torture she'd endured whilst held prisoner...it bothered her that he might class her as weak, Aoni didnt even consider that instead he might have found her braver for not grassing under torture and for not playing the damsel over her wounds. Another thought that the young half elf refused to accept was that she herself was unerved by feeling weaker. But she pushed all negative thoughts to the back of her head, it was focus that she needed now as she advanced onwards. The sword felt good in her hands, somehow strangely reasuring, she had yet to name it - but there was still time for that yet. The further Aoni went, the rougher the ground became beneath her, but there was something more peculiar than that to be concerned with - thick white mist rolled in tendrils along the uneven floor. Gradually it was building up about her till all she could see was white. At times like this she grateful for the extra elven senses. Making sure not to make herself vulnerable by sticking in the middle, Aoni felt her way long the side of the tunnel, not realising that her hands had left faint trails of blood from where she'd been holding her side. The naive girl was glad that her crimson dress only just reached her thighs now, thereby granting her more movement and the tightness of her bodice emphasised her slender waist and drew attention to her cleavage, it was a shame that it was ruined from the gash on her side. A sharp noise from ahead snapped Aoni's attention back to where it should be. By the sounds of it whatever the thing was it was coming straight for her and using the mist as cover. She braced herself expecting a head on attack, but it was smarter than she'd given it credit for, instead the beast slowed to practically a stand still and begun to circle her instead. Fear drove adrenaline coursing through her veins, her breathing increased and her heart raced, but her mind stayed focused and her body tensed. The mist took her way the sense of sight..so she did something that she hadnt done in years - closed her eyes, tuned in to her other senses and readied herself. Years of training flooded back to her, every sound every vibration from the earth seemed stronger, far clearer. She could hear the creatures heavy breaths and gutteral snarls, she smell its foul stench. Aoni half wondered if it was better that she couldnt see what she assumed would be a hideous form. Within half a heart beat, faint vibrations and sounds alerted her to the exact moment when the monster lunged for her. Spinning on one heal whilst dodging at the same time, Aoni successfully avoided the first dive, quickly summersaulting backwards she landed just behind it, and twisting round just as it turned she plunged her sword deep into the creatures heart, before twisting the blade and with drawing. Her body trembled as she walked away, bye now her hazel eyes were open and she quickly wiped her blade before sheathing it again. She'd won, it was her victory ... but then why did it feel like a loss. A small groan escaped her cherry lips and feeling at her side it was then, as she pulled her hand back slick with blood that she knew why - the fight had drained her not only of some more of her energy...but of her lifes blood too. Aoni staggered as she walked, at one point almost falling, but through sheer determination and inner strength she urged herself onwards back the way she came. Skaren for some reason came to mind, she needed to get back to him - not only because he could show her the way out but for some other reason that she didnt understand. However her body could only take so much, and ruefully slid down against the wall of the tunnel. One word feel from her lips before her eyes, tired from exhaustion, briefly closed, "Skaren...." |

Could he say he was worried? No not really, he didn’t expect for the Elvin women to fall prey to goblins now. At least not so soon, what he did expect however was that she would fall prey to herself. For some reason her entire mood changed and went down a totally different path than what it once was, going from obviously scared and running for her life to boasting of her own skill with a sword and dashing off deeper into the darker tunnel. Unknown to the youth the reason for the sudden dashing off… yea, Skaren was currently oblivious to the fact that she had fallen weak to wounds that she tried to cover up. Foolish in every respect that was, a warrior is to take care of their body, and there are times when one should take it easy and rely on another for aid. Silent still the youth crept forward, his footsteps being drowned out by the natural ambience of the area. Steel on ether side and ready to once again bathe itself in the green fluid that is goblin blood, Skaren grew closer and closer to his target point, which sadly was the elf girl that had so brashly dashed off before hand. And it wasn’t long before the boy had found his way into the creeping mist of the tunnels, the place were Skaren effectively lost the elf beforehand. Instantly the barbarian took his guard up, awaiting the moment for something… anything to pop free and attack him. The smell of metal, of blood thickened in his nose as the mist rised high enough for him to be blind by it. And it was only by some humble that he didn’t trip over whatever corpse lay before him. Or was it a corpse? As the youth stepped closer, he heard his name leave whatever it was lips. The blade in his right hand returned to its leather home as he poised the right ready for an attack from any direction. Bright eyes peered into the mist in every direction until he could get a fix on the elf girls position, his right hand feeling around the area in an attempt to find a body. The hell happened in the mist? |

Aoni was on the verge of slipping into unconciousness, but sensing the presence of another in the mist braught her back to reality. Who or whatever it was seemed to be remaining silent, this in turn made her keep her silence in fear of it being another one of those creatures. Stumbling blindly through the mist Aoni's foot connected with the leg of the slain beast, effectively tripping her so she ended up sprawled on the floor. Horrified by the carcass she launched herself backwards away from it. Using the wall as a prop she dragged herself back up and onto her feet. What the hell was that thing, hopefully it was the only one lurking within the mist - but then what was the presence that she'd sensed earlier? Carefully she began to retrace her steps, keeping her sword drawn at all times. At one point she thought she heard a noise around the body of the beast but wasnt sure. However this time a noise from somewhere close could be heard..like footfalls over loose stones. Aoni froze, and waited till the last possible moment before striking. In a flash Aoni had twirled round and had the tip of the blade up against the misty silohets throat, but as her eyes adjusted they locked onto two vivid blue eyes looking back at her. "Skaren?" lowering her blade she moved closer, "Skaren..." but before she could continue her sentence her elvish eyes had locked onto another more menacing target. She reacted without thinking, sharply pulling Skaren back behind her out of its reach, she advanced foreward, in a few quick moves she'd managed to twist beside it and having clear acess to its chunky neck, she deftly plunged the blade in right upto its hilt, Then in two hard blows the monstrous head lay severed from its body. Panting and clutching her side the young elf, hastily regained what little composure she could before returning to Skaren. Now she was in a worse condition than before, but was determined not to make herself a burden, effectively damning herself with her pride. "Skaren - although I was protecting you ... I didnt move you out of its way because I thought you were incapable - but you were in the wrong position with it coming up from behind to have defended yourself in time - or at least thats the way it looked" She wanted to make sure he undertood her motives for sheilding him as she didnt want to have offended him in any way. Her body felt exhausted, the pain was the only thing that she could feel besides the weariness. "Its time we got moving... thats not the first creature I killed, there was another before you, and who knows what else stalks through this damned mist...c'mon lets go" she urged. Retracing her steps carefully, Aoni hoped that the mist concealed the worst of her injuries and how she was staggering even on the even ground. She supposed that she'd be in for a lectur about taking off at some point, but for the moment they were both still alive and right now all she wanted to do was to get out of the mist and back into the normal darkness of the claustrophobic inducingtunnels. |

Skaren had planned on finding the corpse of a goblin as well as a broken elf woman, but as his hands continued to feel around they ran across nothing but rock until his fingertips came across something slick. Quickly pulling his hand away and licking the tips… he quickly realized that it was blood, its color crimson meaning it wasn’t Goblinish. The girl was bleeding, ether from the fight with whatever was in the mist, or from some prior conflict that she hasn’t allowed to heal yet, or is even foolishly covering up. And by the way she was acting, Skaren had a gut feeling it was the latter… this one was trying to appear strong. And then suddenly the sound of steel cutting air and Skaren’s blade shot up in defense. Omega catching the steel just between the missing cores, it bent at an angle to stop the sword from tearing into his throat which happened to be the obvious target. The youth stared forward into the Elvin woman’s eyes. Then her own appeared to be looking at something else, and the moment Skaren moved to react she had already pushed him out of the way and taken the enemy down before hand. He was… impressed, her whit was sharp but she had to work on lashing out at everything that moved. Her words afterwards were actually unnecessary; she didn’t need to tell him such. The Elvin woman said she could pull her own weight so that’s what something like this meant. If she could cover his back he knew that she could cover her own. But it was in that brief moment that she had pushed him aside when Skaren confirmed the fact that she was actually wounded. So when she decided to stake steps forward and threw the mist, the barbarian stopped her before she could take more than two steps. “We aren’t going anywhere until I patch your wounds up. I can smell your blood… you think the goblins cant?” And without waiting for her consent, the youth sheathed his second sword and reached into a small pouch on his lower back as well, gripping bandages and a vial of what appeared to be green liquid. |

Aoni blushed embarassed and touched at the same time. Placing a hand against his chest, she kept him at arms length, "Thankyou Skaren...I'm moved by your concern - but here isnt the place to tend to my wounds, not with those mist monsters prowling around - lets just get back to the tunnels first and I promise we'll get them sorted then" she smiled at him reasuringly, having spent so much time looking after others, lying to convince people that she herself was ok came naturally. However her concern for herself and Skarens safety was genuine, staying in the mist wasnt safe, the last thing she wanted was for her companion to be that distracted healing her that he made himself vulnerable to attack. There was a childish innocense about Aoni in that her desire to protect others often resulted in her neglected her own welfare. But in her opinion getting out of the mist would be mutually beneficial, at least in the tunnels you could see and prepare for your attacker. So once again she focused on retracing her steps, but made sure that she and Skaren were always in sight of one another. |

Her hand outstretched and placed it just arms length away from her frame. The youth looked down at the hand and then up at her. Confused actually, he had never met a person like this and quite frankly Skaren thought she was a damn idiot. Why the hell WOULDN’T you get bandaged as soon as possible, specially dealing with creatures that can pin point your location off of just the sent of blood? The fact that she told him maybe later made the youth’s blood boil. There was no threat of enemies in this mist, his barbaric senses told him that much. Therefore it was ok to patch her up and continue forward, she didn’t make sense… and well if she wouldn’t listen to words maybe she’d listen to steel. As she started retracing her steps, the youth tossed the vial of green liquid into the hand with the bandages, his left. And with his right Skaren unleashed Alpha from its leather home on his back the forked tips shooting forward and nearly piercing her back… if only she was a single step behind. His voice was in a whisper, his killing intent obvious. “As you are now… you are a hazard to myself and your own. Stop moving and get patched up, or I can end you now and move one alone. I will not die because of your foolish attempt to impress me.” Skaren’s word leaked venom, bright blue eyes focused in on her in the mist. As it was… if she insisted on continuing forward and into what waited for them past the mist… the young berserker would end her life as it was now, with no hesitation in his blade. |

Aoni glared at Skaren. Livid wasnt a strong enough word to describe how she felt. It wasnt so much as what he had said but rather what he had emplied. Impress him - ha, that was the last thing on her mind, looking out for him more like, and if she was trying to impress anyone then it would be herself. Her hands tightened, and it took all her will power not to reach for her blade. Biting back the argumentative words that longed to be still she replied with a simple, "fine" If he was insistent upon healing her then so be it. She tried to keep all murderous thoughts from her mind. Aoni wondered if her desire to kill to him was as obvious as it had been in his threat to her. Her conscience told her she was behaving riduculously at his offer to heal her, but her wounded pride stung and plagued her. It took a while for Aoni to force her body to relax and to calm. Once calmer and back to her more sociable self she addressed skaren again, this time with less hostility than before. "So...I'm ready when you are, if your going to heal me then you'd better be getting a move on" |
