The day – or night, Fina couldn’t tell anymore midst the storms – had turned out to be another one full of chaos and confusion, Fina’s trip to a new location resulting in his discovery of an apparently endless barren wasteland. As if the Enchanted Forest wasn’t enough to prove how directionally challenged Fina was in this new world, he had now stumbled upon what the locals called ‘The Lost Lands’, a compendium of mainly deserted lands that served as homes for beings of a greater kind. Although skepticism would instantly run rampant over the claims of winged beasts residing here, Fina would nonetheless heed the warning and keep hidden, several distant shrill cries often waking the youth up during his naps, or simply forcing him to stop in his tracks in order to acknowledge whatever it is that could shout witch such power. Of course he’d see nothing, as always, but each time they grew closer, the sound of what seemed to be wings flapping could also be heard; things were starting to get creepy. A small collection of dead trees nearby would act as the shielding Fina needed, and within minutes, he would himself camping once more with his backpack and weapon resting neatly to his side. For now, he’d rest and regain his composure; turning back would occur tomorrow. Any second now, he’d be drifting off to sleep.

Another shrill cry would no doubt startle Fina, the sound of death and the ripping of flesh would play prominent. Of course, the Knight's of Fincayra had to make sure that this place was kept under control, due to the fact if the things could manage to grow in number, they would surely prove difficult to maintain. Should Fina look up, he would be intrigued to find the murdering Knight's hand ripping out of the tall demonic looking ... thing. Hand was twist from it's appearance as a stave, returning to simply a bloody hand. Behind him, two Knights with brandished swords made due of any approaching Imp's or Goblins. Eifel's right hand shifted upwards to flick a bit of hair away, blood mingling into his locks as he glanced in the direction of Fina. Oh, his keen hearing would most probably pick up detection of the demon- had he not been interrupted by another. It was an Incubus, whom was made quick work out of by the two Knights behind him, along with his staved hand that plunged into it's throat. It dropped, falling to the ground before Eifel shifted, nodding his head in the direction of Fina's camp. A Guard approached with sword ready, before it would plunge over with an attempt to kill the demon, longsword eager to add more blood.

Desecration of the worst kind would unfold before him as a painful shriek beckoned the sleeping youth’s attention one last time. Just as he had managed to begin his nap, one last violent set of cries had his eyes wide open, just in time to catch the grim expression of a horrific creation before its end was met. The ones responsible for sending the fiends soul to the other side appeared to be knights, their bodies toting the heaviest, most expensive armors, strictly designed for encounters such as these. Nothing but trouble could come of this situation, but at the moment, the appearance he had let off not too long ago forced him to remain, as running would only arise suspicion in his favor. One particular member of the group had now cast a stern glance in his general direction, Fina catching sight of this quickly but not returning the challenge. Although no words were exchanged, he had not let go of his curiosity, his body language screaming of an imminent approach. Would he step forward? Either way, Fina would remain where he had established himself, resuming his camping duties without paying too much attention to the actions unfolding before him. However, as sharp as always, his periphery would be on alert, ready to have his attention suddenly fixated on anything that became too friendly too fast. And if they did indeed approach, he’d take this opportunity to ask for directions out of this place – he was tired of being lost.

I’m just passing by, boys…

The Knight stopped himself at seeing a human, somewhat startled that such a person would be in this place. Was he stupid or something? Regardless, he shifted to stand above him, before turning back and calling to his companions, "We have a citizen." He shrugged at the glances, as Eifel himself frowned in slight wonder. Human? Here? Why didn't the other demons kill him? Thinking to himself he approached with his companion, before taking position in front of them as they glanced around the camp, and at the figure again.

"Pretty bold to be sleeping around here." Eifel stated, golden iris casting to the backpack and item of slaughter. He didn't speak again, but merely he sighed a bit before narrowing his eyes a bit. Not adorned in heavy armor in the lightest, he wore simply clothing that could be called finery, with his forearms covered by Royal Arms. His right hand remained caked in blood, as well as upon his cheek and chest. This didn't bother him in the slightest, to be frank. A Knight behind him remained alert and wary of the surroundings, as Eifel himself crouched a bit to the side, his young features of eighteen showing in the dim light.

"What's your name? And where are you from?"

So much for being left alone…

Sensing the approach of the group of knights before him would not alter the youth’s behavior in the slightest bit, though he’d acknowledge their decision as soon as they made it public. Their previous actions and current speech would reveal this band of sword fighters to be some sort of protectorate, defending anyone that needed help from the hellish creations that wandered around here, and slaying anything that seemed to lethal to live in peace and harmony. They were adorned in signs and brandished with figures of alliance, as well as equipped with the finest wears. The least militaristic of them all would be the one leading the citizen inquiry, leading Fina to believe he acted as some sort of leader; judging from his appearance, he carried a crude and cold personality. Fina, take note; your life depends on it! His voice of reason had spoken well, and with its high success rate in the past, now would not be the time for the youth to question. He carried a half smile whenever he was looked at, and answered quietly, going on about with his camp duties while remaining in his crouched position. As a pot of coffee was prepared, his head swiveled to the side to answer.

“My name is Fina, and I’m a simple traveler looking for work. A mischievous merchant purposely pointed me this way in hopes of ending my fate prematurely, but fortunately, I’ve yet to encounter evil. However, I am lost – perhaps you could help me leave?”

Listening to his story, the schizophrenic would only smile at the boys encounters. Oh, how naive. However, before he could open his mouth to speak a roar came from amidst the group of four. One of the Knights staggered and choked, seemingly having somewhat of a seizure as Eifel stared rather oddly. "..." Slowly, the Knight would ascend, eyes turned back as his mouth hung agape. The other Knight approached with a worried expression- obviously because they were siblings. The younger brother grasped the others shoulders, staring horrified into his face.

"W-What happened?! Brother?! Wh--"

He was cut off by a hack, his neck cleaved through by the sword in which he carried. Eifel himself stood quickly and stared at the rolling head, unimpressed. Well, he was getting a bit riled up, a slight thrill coming. But he merely smiled, suppressing a few giggles as he stared up at the ex-comrade.

"Ah... possession." He would mutter quite accurately, before sighing a bit. His right arm shifted down, a shifting light before it would change into the appearance of a blade. It was a huge weapon, and he hoisted his arm up a bit as his muscles also grew in shape, thus making the weapon lift with ease. However, he wasn't targetted.

The Knight would disappear in a teleport, reappearing behind the demon known as Fina as he plunged his sabre downwards towards the males neck. Eifel himself didn't bother trying to assist, he merely watched. A slight chuckle escaped his mouth however, arms at his sides as he let the show begin.

It all happened so…fast

Fina’s face would quickly contort into shock as the macabre events before him unfolded with rapid pace. Up until now, he had managed to avoid the fiends, not by simply being lucky as he had told the captain, but by being smart, sticking to the shadows, and being alone. Now, with this large group causing obvious disturbance, he had been included into the targets one more. Then, before he could think any further, the unthinkable happened. Right after the sudden decapitation of one knight, the evil being responsible would suddenly disappear, his body no longer at the side of his slain brethren. Fina would panic, his ring hand on the handle of his sword as his head desperately swiveled from side to side. He’s not left, right or up; he’s either behind me or bellow! Just as reason ended its excellent rhetoric, the clanking of armor behind him would set off all alarms. Although the teleportation had been sneaky, the fiend nonetheless adorned heavy armor, not the quietest of items. His only reaction would be a quick dive forward, allowing the blade which sat resting on his back to take part of the blow. The sword of the knight fiend would scrape off and forward, no flesh consumed. As Fina descended, he would hit the ground and attempt a spin, his left hand planted on the ground as he moved upside down. Once the weight transfer was complete, he’d flip and face the fiend, whose stroke had just ended.

The face-off would now begin.

OOC: Yay, GM tiem. Now, let's think of some hellish things to put out here. >D

Sir Sevsk:

The Knight, known as Sevsk was now under the control of possession by some unknown demon. His target was none other than the one known as "Fina", whom seemed quite capable of handling himself. The fiend would cackle slightly, eyes rolling back as decreased pupils of red found the man upon the ground. He laughed, before clawing roughly against his head, yanking out some hair as blood poured. Oh, self-annihilation! He moaned at the pain and allowed the blood to drip from his head on his face, baring fangs of evil. Eyes stared at the youthful male, before speaking in a heavy, and quite deathly voice.

"Brother! Why are you associating with these humans!? You belong to us, you traitor! Have you no dignity?! Kill that human there!"

He hissed with a point, tongue slithering out against his chin, as he waited for the one known as "brother" to follow his command. However, from the ruckus more fiends were beginning to gather, their eyes in the shadows watching the group as the lightning struck, causing the earth to give a shake of repulse at the sinners upon it's flesh.

Oh, how The Lost Lands trembled.

Eifel:

Remained standing where he was, amused. His left hand rested upon his hip as his right arm turned great sword dug lightly into the ground. Golden iris stared at the demons about them, before he frowned a bit.

Human? I'm a fucking shape-shifter, assholes.

Hostility would rise to new levels on that fated battlefield deep within the Lost Lands, many entities present to defend their faiths and give their life if necessary for their cause; it was a compendium of masses, all thinking as a collective. Now, with two extremely opposing sides no more than a few feet from each other, bloodshed was but a blink of an eye away. Adrenaline would possess men all across the land as their dominant hands reached for their sword sheathes, acquiring the handles in tight grips that would force metal to sing as it roared out into action. Fina was amongst them, his Great Sword finally unsheathed, held with both hands in a diagonal fashion directly in front of his chest. As hardened metal shined away bright sun rays, an exotic and grotesque display of inhumanity would take place before him, revealing the owner of such deadly infractures as nothing more than a member of some dark army. His hair would leave his scalp without much protest, his deformed hands yanking them out one by one; the blood flow would come soon after.

But Fina would care not for such intimidation tactics. Despite the fact he had begun a new sentence that somehow linked the solitary nomad to his evil group via the title of ‘brethren’, the youth would waste no time in his conquest for extreme disposal, his blade taking flight in order to silence the fiend forever. Executed in a stinger like fashion, the tip of the Great Sword would drive towards his neck and mouth, his right hand cocked back as it prepared to unleash the attack, while the left was kept on guard at his front. With a single swift motion, the blade would stab forward and return quickly to its master, its end result ultimately not determining the blade’s next act. Instead, as soon as Fina stabbed away – around the time the fiend’s sentence ended and his tongue floated around – he’d return to a sentinel, defensive position, both arms once again bringing the blade to his chest. Alert of those around him – two knights were only a few feet away from him, and a few other rows protective him from any initial attacks – he’d attempt to stay near a duo or single fighter, knowing strength in this case would most certainly come in numbers.

As cries of pain and laughter rang in the horizon, Fina would give his newest friend a quick glance; would he be the one to lead this small troop to victory? Time would soon tell, for the bloody war of attrition between man and malice would soon begin.

Sir Sevsk:

The demon wasn't phased by the sudden attack. Rather, it was within the body of a trained Knight. It was of course trained for these situations of combat, thus such a thing wouldn't be a factor of fear. His body shifted to his right, neck moving out of the way as he slashed the longsword horizontally beneath Fina's body simultaneously as his own thrusting sword passed over his shoulder. The strike would be swift and thus up close, the Knight's figure pressing a bit forward as the tip of his blade aimed to rip through the demon's abdomen.

He grinned a bit, regardless of hitting or not he would twist on the top of his right foot, spinning his body to the right by first getting the left side away from any harm. His back would momentarily face Fina's left shoulder, before he turned around completely, swinging his right arm down towards the males back, attempting to dig his weapon into his flesh. Cries of agony from the growing party of evil would let loose, having now formed a circle around the duo. Two other Knights? One lay dead, and Eifel himself didn't budge from his spot.

A silent cackle, and the possessed Knight would be on guard, despite their close range.

It was sudden, the clashing of blades resulting in a metal chorus chock full of distortion and disorder. But despite the unexpected speed increase of the battle, Fina would adjust, his war torn soul now at home in the bevy of chaos it had suddenly been thrown into. As such, when his blade would pierce only air and the opponent’s visage dodged with a simple head nod to the right, he would await retaliation, anticipating the possessed fallen ally’s sword to come around from the side. Almost as expected, cold steel would attempt to severe Fina in two, traveling rapidly along the youth’s abdomen in a horizontal slashing fashion. Although ‘effortless’ would be absent of Fina’s dodging description – his pelvic thrust to the back only saved him from a bad wound, as the sword still cut the surface of his flesh – he would nonetheless avoid premature death, only a small leak of crimson left behind to serve as an omen for his enemy’s potential. The situation looked grim.

Or did it? Despite the dark army’s growing numbers, and Fina’s ‘allies’ thinning out by the second, the fiend before him had ultimately exposed himself towards death. Upon ending his first strike and entering the interim before the next, Fina would take advantage of his momentum, using his free left hand – which had been before him for guarding purposes – in order to push the fiend on with whatever movement he had established. This way, as he finished his slice and begun his turn, balance would no longer be his. But his counter attack didn’t end there – as soon as his back was fully to the Sasori, he’d shadow his movement closely, remaining at his back while the fiend turned to face air, his blade soon finding the same frustration Fina did moments earlier. And just when he’d pierce the air with downward fury, metal would attempt to protrude his chest, Fina’s sword cutting cleaning through an opening in the back of the knight’s armor.

It was swift homicide, a deal in death lasting no more than a few seconds. Even though the knight still stood, he’d soon fall to his own death, gravity overpowering his now weakened state as the blood flow from his body increased. Upon his descent, the slain knight's weapon would be fetched, adorning Fina’s left hand in cold, crimson steel. Now with twin blades, he’d prepare himself for the worst. Sensing death in his allies, he’d sidestep close to the captain nearby. Exasperated words soon came forth, although not before a good session of heavy breathing ended.

“…any plans? There's still a route behind us that the baddies haven't flooded”

Oooh, showy. Eifel himself remained somewhat unamused by the display of valor, despite the fact he had just slain his subordinate. Yet, the possession spirit was one that was not to be trifled with, and Eifel himself knew this from experience. Considering it was a "spirit", physical attacks were meaningless. It's body would shift in a white flash through the withering captain, flinging itself through the darkness towards Fina's body.

However, there were some drawbacks for his class. The spirit could only take over another demon's body slowly, taking control of limbs one at a time. Yet, it wouldn't make itself known. Instead, it would remain unseen to the naked eye whilst attempting to place itself into Fina's body, firstly taking control of the warriors left arm in which the fallen Knight's blade rest. Complete control laid upon Fina however, as the possession spirit would lay dormant in wait for a chance to strike again unexpectedly. For now, they would have to survive.

Emerald occuli shifted to the elder man, a slight frown upon his face as his head shifted to the side. He sighed a bit, slightly in contemplation at what would be the best move. For some reason this person assumed they were "allies", giving Eifel no choice in the matter. To be frank, he wasn't quite sure he wanted to ally with someone so crude as to not allow someone to finish speaking. Yet he ignored it, turning his frame around towards the path that was supposedly "clear". Yea, what? Clear? Eifel stared at the rather bulging frame of a huge cyclops, the deformed figure's mouth stitched shut as his muscles protruded in fleshy blood.

Somewhat disgusting, to be honest. The creature snorted violently before swinging it's left palm across the ground, creating a gravitational pull and slam, even God himself would be shocked at the power. With no where to run, both Fina and Eifel would no doubt have no choice but to accept the blow, hurling them further into the lost grounds as their bodies would roll down the steep cliffs and upon rough gravel. The fall, of course, would put them both out for ten or so minutes.

Fade out...

After awhile, their eyes would of course open. At least, Eifel's. A small grunt escaped his mouth as he sat upon his knee's, his body once more that of a human appearance, the body of his "companion" not too far away. He frowned a bit as he glanced down towards the area below the ridge they laid on, a glowing "city" seemingly prominent. The boy was somewhat shocked-- how far had they been blown away? He staggered to stand, giving a slight cough from the dust that laid within his throat.

"Hell?" He muttered faintly, the populace within this area seeming to be... much like that above ground. However within the center of this "city" was that of a large palace, and behind it a pathway that shown nothing but "light". Heaven? Or would that be their way out of here? Eifel dusted himself off as he shifted his appearance a bit, growing vampiric fangs as length bat wings spread from his back, incubus horns adoring the side of his head. He would approach the fallen comrade, crouching as his wings curled a bit. A few shakes, and hopefully he would awake from his slumber he so missed out upon.

"Old man, get up." He hissed between his teeth, glancing up to see that of a small demon boy shifting through the ridge side, fiery red eyes placed upon the two. From their appearance they seemed perfectly normal, however Eifel knew he didn't exactly smell of demon. That would be fixed right now.

Oh, how would he do it? Of course by killing the little demon boy after moving away from Fina. He would gut the poor boy open and slice his windpipe, before soaking himself a bit in the demonic blood. His eyes would then shift from emerld to ruby, his frame seductive like that of a incubus, and somewhat "revealing". He frowned a bit, before glancing back at the man and letting his tongue shift through his teeth.

"You up yet, douchebag?"

Somethings wrong…

It was cold…the same kind of feeling that’s triggered when a ghost enters a room, and suddenly the temperature drops. Shaken, Fina’s head swiveled briefly left and right, hoping to find a source for the sudden premonition; nothing…? Despite victory, the odd feeling simply could not be shaken off, his worried state causing him to miss the visual representation of his fatal strike, the guards body simply sliding off his sword, leaving staining streaks of crimson upon the large blade. After several seconds of immobility, a wise crack on the captain’s behalf would bring him back to life, alerting him to the fact that they weren’t alone. He would turn half aware, his mind still trained on the oddities that had just taken place, his sword held before him with a grip less firmer than usual.

But it’d be too late.

The icy touch had disturbed his being for a mere millisecond, the fiend’s spiritual entrance becoming the proverbial rock that skipped across the pond – that is, if his inner self was represented by the almost still body of water. Yet his soul’s forced, still-unknown penetration would not go completely unnoticed, for an inner prickle rang off, signaling an instinctual alert to danger. Thanks to his true demonic self – at the moment dormant, but nonetheless still aware and observant – the occupation of his soul by another would only go unrivaled if the offender overpowered the knight, which in this instance was not the case. A deep cackle would echo through the halls of Fina’s inner self, the demon known as Diablos enjoying the weakness and frailty his human counterpart portrayed. Dark lips were licked and curled as he continued his sickly routine, its humor increasing as the body possession commenced. Yet interference would only be a last resort once true danger showed its ugly, scarred face, for he thoroughly enjoyed watching naivety in its full form. With its decision to make his presence briefly known only when ‘their’ lives were truly in danger, it’s be up to Fina to fight. No…it wasn’t quite time yet; soon, however, Diablos would be birthed into this world once more, striking a new millennia of misfortune for all mortals. For now, however, victory and his beloved fanfare would be over, for the crushing strike of an abominable Cyclops would send all still retaining life into the nearby distance, consciousness stolen from them without question or mercy. Fina’s last image would slowly fade away, the lost lands around him and his downed partner now swarmed with fiends of all shapes and sizes.

So this is it…?

*****

Hours had passed since their landing, a few brief distorted images regarding their previous encounters playing itself out vividly in the youth’s imagination. Upon the end of the reel, the concept of time would slowly pour itself back into the youth’s mind, his vision being the first to allow him a glimpse of reality. Pain would shoot through his sides as he attempted to rise, his prone position making the effort twice as hard. After a few failed tries, he’d let his blood flow return to normality; in the meantime, a blaring headache would fill in and entertain. Some random comment next to him would force his attention towards the man he assumed to be the captain of his now dead squad, which now found himself fully awake and alert. Disregarding it, he’d instead eye a bustling town a few miles down from the natural perch in which they stood. Silence ensued, but in order to comply with his ‘savior’, he’d nod, a stoic emotionless expression kept the entire time. Hopefully when the time to move out came, the drums in his head would stop beating.

"So. Let's go." He would state before jumping off the side of the ridge towards the rocky ground below, using his wings to balance his fall. He would leave Fina to think how he'd get down himself. Eifel landed upon his feet as he shifted his head to the right, blond locks falling atop his brow as he glared at the sparkling city of "Hell". Or maybe this was Niflheim? Who knew. However, he knew this wouldn't be exactly... easy.

Eifel himself was shocked at the approach of the approach of enemies. Had his drenching of himself in blood not been enough? He frowned a bit, eyes trailing the figures of a Hell Dog, and two Grigori, their wings torn and ripped, their faces unseen beneath the hoods of darkness and sin.

CUE FINAL FANTASY-ESQUE BATTLE MODE.

t h e m e

Eifel himself drew his longsword, his vampiric teeth showing as his incubus horns pointed towards his foes, his left arm in front of him with his palm faced towards the ground, his armor about his arms manifested. His sword in his right hand faced down, shining slightly as Eifel set himself in a battle stance. He wouldn't wait for Fina to catch up, however.

He struck outwards towards the second Grigori, ripping his longsword through the demons flesh [-45HP Surprise/Critical Attack] before bouncing backwards out of harms reach, on guard. He would then keep his eyes upon his foes, waiting for Fina to catch up.

OOC: Yes, I'm turning this into a turn-based fight. >D

note: you do not have to be detailed with the attacks. pretty much, just state you attempt struck out and hit whichever enemy is there, and they'll do the same/or try. Since I'm making it turn based, for fun, imagine it more like a game that defies logix, and just for fun. Try keeping attacks at least two strikes or one strike and defense, etc.

A few minutes after the last of his burning headache symptoms, the duo would now prepare to move out, the captain once again choosing leadership over their next destination. Still somewhat dazed, Fina would continue his silent fest, merely observing his counterpart descend down the slope naturally, while he himself was left behind to stare. Perhaps it had been the heavy blow suffered earlier, but when the sudden appearance of the man's wings was made evident, Fina felt himself lacking in the awe department. Regardless, the man’s winged display would ingrain itself in the youth’s conscience for a good while, abilities previously unknown suddenly surfacing in the presence of danger. What other tricks did this man have up his sleeve? Who was he and what did he do? And most of all…what was his name? Time would hopefully soon tell.

After a few seconds of the man’s winged descent, Fina would choose his own means of transportation, finding a speedy climb down the cliff’s edge as a great opportunity to exercise. It’d be a combination of his still unknown tainted blood and his natural affinity for adventure and danger that would keep his soul steady upon each ledge descended, an attempt most regular mortals would simply disregard as too dangerous. However, with less than a minute elapsed during his rock climbing, a confident drop would serve as testament of Fina’s skill and agility. His knees has bent slightly from the fall in order to cushion it and his hands would come together, rubbing against each other in an effort to wipe off any excess sediment residue. Midst all this, a childish grin had been plastered on his face for some time, an internal celebration over his quick arrival triggering the euphoric happiness. However, it seemed the gods would once again choose to rain on his parade.

Out of the fucking frying pan, and into the damn fire, eh?

Sarcasm aside, it’d take Fina only a few seconds to let his blade run free, a screech of metal piercing the tense atmosphere of the ghost town as the appearance of more fiends became evident to the duo. Although it seemed the captain had chosen engagement without Fina, the dark knight would not simply allow himself to be sidelined. Instead, he’d take advantage of the man’s impatience, flanking the enemies widely whilst utilizing the area’s natural darkness as cover. Within seconds, his speeding frame now found itself to the side and back of the two floating creatures, with the dog like demon being the further away. Timed well enough, a horizontal slash was executed with ease just after the captain's lethal strike, the blade flying through the air at high speeds. Aimed at the backs of the fiends, the strike would surely land with a vengeance. If not…well, he hadn’t thought that far yet.
