Krik walked into the town, taking in the sight of the rustic buildings. The dirt road beneath his feet was plain, covered in odd assortments of rocks of all different shapes and sizes. He had absolutely no idea why he was looking at the ground and taking in all of the details, but... what was there to look at when his head was up? The buildings weren't much in the looks of beauty, not much to look at. Every once in a while, a nice looking lady would pass by. He'd only flick his eyes over to her's smile and nod as she passed.

He had been horrible as of late. He ran away from home and its oppressiveness, but he also ran away from his sweet Marcia. He could only wonder how she was doing. He would have to sneak back one day. He could only wonder how the child was doing, how his father and mother were and if they had moved elsewhere. He wandered into a tavern, his ears greeted by something that he oh so loved. Music, wondrous, light, and soft filled his ears. He had a love for all musics. He quickly drifted towards the player and sat some way away, listening, letting the music clean his thoughts.

He felt music, rather than hearing it. He could predict what was coming next, just because he had listened for so long, rhythms tended to be repeated throughout many musician's pieces of music. Of course, this one was an odd ball. A few things he missed and he corrected himself quickly as he hummed along. He glanced at the womans lute. Although it was a fine instrument in general, he simply didn't like it much. I played violin for its sweet, melodious sound, a flute for its brisk and cheery demeanor, but a lute only because Marcia's voice blended well with it. Light and soft. He sank back down again at the thought of her before listening to the music again. The woman playing the lute sang softly, taking a slower tempo before picking back up to the original tempo and quieting her lute, plucking as fast as she had before, just softer. It was amazing watching her finger along the board of the instrument. He wondered if watching his own fingers was as mesmerizing.

Adrianne had already been sitting at the tavern when Krik had showed up, however his arrival had gone mostly unnoticed, as she had been similarly transfixed to the sound of the music. However when Krik stared humming she noticed the second tune and turned to face him. She'd once attempted to learn how to sing, but couldn't hold enough air. Yet the effort of learning had given her a greater appreciation of the art. She got up from her seat and quietly moved it and herself behind him in order to hear more clearly, and simply sat back down closed her eyes and listened.

Still humming, his eyes opened only momentarily to notice someone move their chair behind him. She closed her eyes and listened on, whether to his humming or the woman's lute playing was unknown to him. She had shoulder length blonde hair, that much he could see. He couldn't tell her hair color, her eyes being shut. She had a beige colored skin, a bit pale in the odd lighting in the tavern. She had an air of haunt around her, it not really worrying Krik much. He knew that some people just had the kind of air about them. He felt tempted to turn around, but he would wait patiently for the lute woman to stop. He stopped humming as she began the last part, a speedy riff that was heavy and down set, something that made a mans blood boil and his heart race.

Finally, she stood and let her instrument and hand fall to her side, taking two bows and walking away. The rest of the patrons stood, grabbed their chairs and went back to respective tables, taking up drinking and rough housing with all of their already wasted friends. He stood up and turned his chair around. Looking at her full in the face, she was quite the looker. Pretty face, well proportioned body, and that air that hung around her seemed to make it all that more erotic.

"Enjoying the Lute player or me?" He asked, giving her a wolfish grin that gave him a look of utter stupidity.

As he stopped humming, Adrianne's eyes opened, the sudden change to the overall melody had taken her by surprise, but she soon closed the again, even without the accompanent of Krik's voice it was a nice tune. She began to applaud but quickly stopped as she opened her eyes to find Krik staring at her.

For a moment she almost fell off the chair in surprise, but as it was she reached for her dagger in surprise...and found it missing. Inwardly cursing her luck that thieves always seemed to pick on her of all people. It never quite crossed her mind that she might have dropped it in her flight from Avalon city. Instead of dwelling on that thought she simply smiled and withdrew her hand from her pocket. As Krik came into view she examined his own appearance. He didn't appear too horific, and the contrast of his hair and skin certainly caught the eye, and the appearance that his grin gave him certainly made her feel as if her wouldn't be the sort of person that would agrivate her.

As he asked her his question, Adrianne grinned. "Well, until you stopped I was enjoying you, but then I had to make do with the lyrist." With that she lowered her head and gave a mock sigh. "Both your performances were astounding. Sorry about my reaction before, it was just that I didn't expect to find someone watching me. I guess I'm just a little paranoid." It was at this moment that she remembered a curtosy that she'd forgotten. After only a brief pause she continued. "I'm Adrianne, what shall I call you? It would be nice to be able to put a name to your face."

So she was enjoying his humming. But he wasn't part of the woman's group. If there was one. She was just another bard and he was another passer with a taste in good music. She grinned, exposing a nice neat row of teeth. No long canines. So, she was at least near humanoid. No vampire. While he had no problem with them, he was nervous around them. Just something about sitting and living around a superior race that could easily do off with him. And it was weird, being around such perfect beings that were actually dead.

He looked up and she was still grinning. She had reached for her pocket he had noticed, but he couldn't tell what for. Book? Highly unlikely, not with that kind of speed. Weapon then, or something else. Or she was just sticking her hand in her pocket. Either way, whatever she was looking for wasn't there. When she pulled her hand out of her pocket it was empty. She gave him a name almost as pretty as the wearer. He smiled.

"Name's Krik. Nice to meet you Miss Adrianne." He offered her his hand leaning forward slightly.

Adrianne's reaction to Krik's actions was mostly standard politness. She took his hand, and as she was already grinning, had no need to smile in return. So she replied to his statment with a standard casual "It's nice to meet you too Krik. While he was distracted she quitely in a rather amazing sleight of hand, pilfered a set of eating utensils. Maybe it'd come in useful later. There was always a time and place for everything. The important thing was having those things at the time they were needed.

(Sorry it's so short, but you didn't exactly give me much to work with, that and I'm really tired, but I wanted to get a post in anyway.)

He let go of her hand. And raised and eyebrow. She had taken a set of utensils, a fork, a spoon and a knife. That was something odd. Not very often did people make a habit of stealing something to eat with why they shook someone's hand. But she was very crafty about it. He must have been the only one that noticed. His smile broadened. He looked at her one more time. She seemed like the non-civilian type. More of a warriors build. Something that occurred commonly amongst the women of Avalon.

"So... Where are you from? Where are you going? What are you doing here?" He kind of just... blurted a bunch of questions. Something that he found was very easy to do. And something he didn't all to much enjoy doing. But apologizing was something that he never liked to do either. What was done was done, in his book and saying sorry didn't change jack diddly shit. He kind of smiled as he thought that. That phrase had always had a certain ring to it. Jack diddly shit. His smile stretched a little bit more, back into that stupid grin.
