Why do I kill?...Heh...Simply because I can...
”La…lala…lala…laaaa…”

Tap. Tap. Tap. Foot-steps echo through the dark caverns. An old trail of blood leads the way to the main chamber, the house of the Goddess. Vengeance rests in these halls, powerful and hateful, always seeking to do undeserved pain to the world. The strength to sunder Avalon, to force men to their knees in fear, doesn’t do much to frighten one dark soul. He stalks loudly through the temple, following his sense of blood-lust to where she resides. A shimmering blade drags across the stone walls, screeching painfully and sending sparks flying, giving some light to the dreary realm. In the blackness he blends in perfectly, clothing as dark as night, however the pale flesh that adorns his muscle and bones sticks out with obvious clarity. It is the skin of a man that avoids the sun, preferring the company of shadows.

”My, oh my,” his voice carries, soft and sweet with a deadly underlying tone. “It is dreadfully dark…and damp…This isn’t a very comfortable home.” Again he speaks, words coming from delicate lips, somehow warm and cold at the same time. If one could be subdued by the sound of a voice, his would be an adoring rose amongst wilting dandelions. It hardly seemed befitting of the ice-blooded man, his movements poised and features so lovely. A true thorn he was, decorated with loveliness and casting a façade for all to see.

”My little goddess,” he sang, path now having brought him to the center of the temple. ”Where do you hide, my pretty flower…stained red with the blood of others.” A hand rises to grasp the wide-brimmed hat that adorns his head, pushing it up slightly so that the crimson orbs that rest in his face could glance about more freely. The knife in his other hand comes up to his bottom lip, tapping it gently as he turns about, rotating on the heel of his right foot.

”Kioku, oh Kioku,” he goes on once more, ”You are here, I know it, I do…You have a smell, you know, yes…of course you do…The smell of vengeance incarnate, m hm, that’s it…

It has been such a long spell since we spoke last…I do miss that joyful company,”
Achar chimes with a grin. Stopping his little twirl, he focuses his sights on another entrance to the room. ”Time to play, I think…I’ve been bored, awfully bored.” He lifts up the knife and flicks his wrist with little effort, sending the sharp blade flying.

”Achar is here, my doll.”

She did so like the color red. Even now it stained her palms, thick fleshy remnants spilling from her hands. It did not hit the ground however, rather it was lapped up by a most unnatural of beasts. Unnatural in both its own kind and in general. The hell steed was a tall, stocky thing, its fur a sickening green, a tangled mess being its main. Above all the smoke rising from its breath, and the sparks emitted by its hooves, and the sharp canine teeth happily consuming mortal flesh. It was his own fault really, silly little paladins. Or whatever, Kioku stopped caring about what hey called themselves these days. Supposedly pure hearted morals out to slay such an evil goddess as herself. If they wanted evil, well they ain't seen nothing yet. The goddess laughed at her own sport. It was feeding time in her macabre little zoo. The cat and dog gnawed happily upon bones and the hell steed upon bloody flesh. What a regular little cleaning crew they all were.

Her coat was tossed upon the stone steps, but she didn't seem to notice the cold. In fact, she did not, the icy plains were her birthplace and she lived within them even now. As if it had been nothing but that frosted breeze the goddess barely shifted her gaze as a dagger came soaring into her vision. Instead of rearing up like a regular horse might, the shadowy steed before her only rose its lips in a snarl. Kioku laughed. Her hand rose, blood covered still, as she plucked the dagger from the air. Waving her beasts off with a single gesture she strode over to meet her 'guest'. "Ah how long its been. Fancy another round do you?"

A soft hum esacped the demon's lips. "My lovely flower," he said, arm crossing his abdomen as he bowed. "It is such a treat to see you again, oh yes...Were you entertained with those brave followers of light?" Achar tilted his head back, a thin grin spread across his pale face. "I smelt their holy blood long ago...They were so hell bent on finding you, oh yes...I even gave them directions...Indeed they were much obliged and didn't even give me a second thought." His right hand twitched and another blade slid down from underneath his sleeve and in between his lithe fingers.

"Oh, another round...I'd be delighted. The world can be so dull and you are such a fun doll you are."

His left hand rose and took ahold of the brim of his hat. Carefully he removed it from his head and tossed it across the room onto the same steps that Kioku's coat rested upon. With a soft laugh he held his left hand, palm open, towards the goddess. It turned inwards then out again, several thin blades resting between dangerous fingers. "If you would be so kind...bleed for me," he said softly, almost in a begging sort of tone before his right hand jerked up and sent a dagger flying once more. It'd take more than that to bring the crimson from Kioku's body.

Without hesitation he stepped forward and his left hand followed, swinging around with four blades aimed to leave deep marks in the little goddess' face. "These walls need new paint, my Lady Vengeance!"

The dagger swayed lightly in hand, she was in no hurray after all. For the gods time was of no importance anyways. Kioku had decided that all the myths and legends surrounding Avalon's deities could be true after all. Obviously she had not died yet, none could surpass her! That didn't mean she couldn't still have fun now and then, after all every one of her scars had been allowed. For the sake of drama, of course. Even the chip of one fang had been not from outright skill of an opponent but because she let them manage to strike her. All in all the goddess was a mite masochistic. If only because it was so priceless to see the look on their faces when all their best hopes were answered. Even more fun was to shatter them, after all Kioku couldn't let one get too confident. It was bad for the reputation.

"It's never really a surprise to have guests such as they. Got to come slay the evil goddess and whatnot. My pets were hungry though, so for their sake I suppose a thank you is in order." Playing with the dagger still, she gave no other outward indication that she was preparing for a fight. Of course, Kioku never did strike a pose or give out war cries. There was a difference between wonderfully dramatic and sickeningly cliche'. A foot lashed out to send bloodied bones clattering against the wall. As if she were clearing a path for their 'battlefield.' "Oh how I'd hate to be a bore." She chimed, her voice light with utter sarcasm. By now one would know that she served only herself and cared not for the opinions of others. But enough chatter, there was a battle to be had, no?

With a grin to show fangs, she dropped the assassin's knife. Letting it slam home into the stone floor of her cave she decided it an apt sign of round two's beginning as any. "Tsk, you'll have to fight for that." The goddess had never been one to give things away for free, not unless she'd gained some satisfaction or need for it later. Out of the kindness of her own heart was not a term used with this particular goddess. Ah, but what fun they were to have here today! It was a small task to catch the second dagger thrown, fingers wrapping about the hilt as she stepped to meet him half way. Why, she might not even use a spell to fry him to a crisp this time. "That it does! Let's make a pretty little picture then, shall we?" Her nails were nearly talons themselves, and it was this simple little number that she brought about to cut rather than the sword at her hip.
