He cursed himself as the sun rose, noticing that he'd overslept far too long. The longer he took getting to the city the longer it woudl take him to get back. Rex wouldn't be able to forgive himself if something had happened to his sister while she was home, alone, unable to see. What if the food he'd left didn't last long enough, or if the full moon came before he got back? The lycan would forever worry about these things and more until he returned home. Worse yet, Thio might very well take it upon herself to go out and look for him. She often had a tendency to wander ... Even against Rex's own worries for her safety. She always said she could smell her way back. Rex was beginning to fear that she took their affliction too lightly. Maybe it was just because he had been what they were for far more years than she. Rex shook himself from his thoughts. Sitting here worrying wouldn't do any good! With a huff, he swiped back a stray lock of hair and tugged it back with fury. Thio was right ... he really should cut it soon. If he wasn't careful she'd attack him and try to braid it, that was, if he didn't tie it back first. He really didn't mind a short tail now and then, if it weren't for his laziness it would tend to be shorter but .... well his sister was always a threat in that regard. Maybe he'd clean up a bit once he got to the Bard's Town. For now however he had a lot of goods to transfer. Standing, he brushed grass and dirt from his pants and hoisted the bag of hunting spoils onto his back. Winter would becoming soon, and the various pelts would fetch him enough money to get enough food to keep him and his sister fed for the winter. After kicking dirt over the fading embers of his camp fire he set off again. Many hours passed and the sun grew dimmer and dimmer. Evening was falling before he realized it and with a heavy sigh he dropped the pack at his feet. Glancing about the open plain as he stretched he found himself unintentionally scanning the knee high grass. |

Talgera was stalking the small creature for fun really. She had everything she needed in her backpack but wanted to see if she could capture the tiny creature. A small crack herd when her foot accidently snapped a twip."damit" she whispered to herself. The rabit looked up and bolted from the sound. Giving chase quickly running as fast as she could keeping up but barely with the small thing. Its bouncing made the grass move its ears barely visible once in the open plane from each bounce. As she noticed the rabit dart to the left she jumped and drove her knee into hte ground hoping to have hit the rabit but missed. She winced as her knee hit the dirt, moveing the left hand to the ground quickly pushing herself up as her left leg kicked off the ground to give chase again. "grr I'll get you" was yelled out as she chased the small being down through the plane, it weived around and led her in different directions untill finally she had enough. She tried again to drive her knee over the small thing. Unforunately the rabit had just gotten into its hole her leg stuck in a painful position in the small hole "Argh.". |

Even from here his advanced eyesight detected something over the plain. It scurried across the grasses, zigzagging about. As if it were being ... hunted. The werefox gave a cautious sniff to the air, his advanced senses wary as to what sort of predator may be about. If it were fox or hawk he had no worry. However, a wolf or big cat would be considerably more difficult for him to fend off. What he fund instead running across the plain was a much less feral creature. He squinted, watching the girl run, chasing after the rabbit? Since when did humans hunt in such a manner without bow or snare? Hmph. Not like it was any of his business. Rex didn't have the time to waste, and so he tossed the pack of goods over one shoulder again and started off. The rabbit dove into a hole, but it was of no consequence to him so he ignored it. But it was the girl that ran past, nearly knocking him over as she dove for the bunny. A brow rose as Rex watched her fall. And promptly get herself stuck for her trouble. He had half a mind to continue on. However, he suddenly imagined what his sister might have said. Dropping his pack of goods, he muttered irritably to himself before walking the few paces back to the girl. "Need help?" |

Startled not noticeing the presence of another she looked at him a slight grimmace on her face "Ahh yes please if you could" She smiled sheepishly pulling at the leg causeing another jolt of pain makeing her stop. Really having no idea how to get out but sure if she pushed hard enough she could get her leg out without someones help. Though the less effort the better. |

He nodded briefly, his demeanor proving that he was not to used to being around ... people. Other than his trips into town to trade goods, it was usually just him and his sister in Druma Wood. Still, the thought of what his sister might do should she ever hear that he refused help to a person in need, well he shuddered to think about it. He'd never hear the end of it. "Don't move. His instructions were brief, as he drew the shortsword from his hip. The weapon gleamed in the faded sunlight, as he brought it swiftly down. The dirt at the girl's feet was slowly shoveled away, not so honorable a job for a sword but it made for a good enough shovel. When he had enlarged the hole enough for her to free herself without any further harm, he took a step back, busing himself with wiping mud and dirt from his blade. "There." |

She stiffened slightly watching him draw his blade following his order to stay still. She was afraid of the blade especially seeing how trapped she was. She smiled in relief as the dirt was shoveled away and pulled her knee out, standing beside him. She sretched her leg out abit bringing circulation back into it. "Thank you" She said as she turned to him and bowed her head slightly as a sign of respect. |

"It's nothing." He replied, his attentions focused on his sword. When at last he was content that it was clean, he put the blade away. Of course he didn't dare explain that he only helped out of fear of punishment from his much smaller and blind sister. Even if Thio was a feisty little thing. It came from being what they were, he supposed. After putting his sword away, he dusted off his hands. Picking up his satchel full of supplies again, he tossed it over one shoulder. After thinking for a moment, he gave an idle motion with his free hand. "I'm heading towards Bard's Town. You can come with, if you like." The offer didn't mean anything to him, he'd already stopped to help the girl so he might as well not just leave her in the middle of nowhere without some offer of civilization. |

She tilted her head to the side curious of this offer and of this person. A new place to go and meet others intrigued her as always. She nodded "That would be great* She smiled absentmindedly looking out ovver the plain. "What is in Bard's town?" She asked not really directly to him just thinking aloud to herself. |

'Bards', he was tempted to say, but thought that perhaps sarcasm would be lost on her. Besides, sarcasm usually failed to amuse and he didn't feel like pissing anyone off just yet. Anyways, there wasn't much time to stand about. It would get dark soon, he didn't know if they'd make it across this plain and into town before the sun set or not. He would like to get at least a little progress done before starlight. "Shops, tavern, houses. Its just a small town." It didn't matter if she was actually talking to him or not, his keen ears picked up on it anyways. That said, he started walking. |

"OK" She was surprised he answered but didn't mind any information was useful to her. She walked behind him looking around at everything around her, a habit she really needed to get out of. Not focuseing on whats around her has gotten her in trouble befor afterall. "hmm".. She mused on about what type of shops would be there and waht type of people she would encounter. There wasn't much to talk about at the moment no questions she wished to ask. Though she did notice the man was not really talkative himself. She started twirling her hair as they walked with her index finger on her right hand. |

As they continued on he was silent, his thoughts drifting from his sister, to how much he might make at trade. Though he would not title himself a merchant, he and his sister lived off the land, selling pelts and surplus meats from the animals he hunted. Thio would grow vegetables in the garden behind their small cabin, but she wasn't too good at it. So it was that their living depended mostly on him, but Rex was used to the burden. It had been years since their parents had died and years since they'd moved away from the prejudices of the city, so nothing new came to him now. But after an hour or two of silence, he paused. Letting the pack slide from his back and rolling his shoulders to ease the discomfort. "It's getting dark. Would you like to set up camp?" His tone indicated that he did not care either way, but was only asking for the comfort of his new found traveling companion. |

She looked at him not careing if they did or not she simply shrugged "Umm.. no we could probly go abit further." She did not really need to set anything up. She mainly ever used her pack as a pillow and maybe a blanket at night otherwise she would just sleep in a tree or something away from animals if one was around. Not really used to makeing camp fires and such. |

He was a little bit surprised, having more expected her to wish camp. It was growing dark, not many people liked to wander bout at night. However, he could see well enough as long as there was at least some start light. His affliction helped with that. Nodding slightly to indicate he understood, he picked up his satchel again and carried on. They traveled for awhile longer, but the silence was starting to annoy him. Clearing his throat slightly, he shifted the pack at his shoulder and glanced off to act indifferent. "My name's Rex." He offered. |

She nodded "Rex, A nice name" She smiled. "Mine is Talgera."She really was bad at this she thought to herself. Makeing conversation is not one of her strong suits. "So where are you from?" She really did need to work on her questioning. Blurting things out normally made people uneasy around her. She was expecting a bad reaction but just looked around her her vision was not great when it was dark but she could pick out afew things. Exploreing at night paid off for her sometimes. |

It didn't really matter. The two were basically the same in that regard. Rex had never been the talkative sort. Not even with his sister, unless, of course, she started the conversation first. Maybe if he had been the conversation type, Rex would have spoken of where he originally hailed from. Instead however he answered simply with. "Druma Wood." |
