This is a basic list of all positions currently offered here on Avalon. This also lists characters currently underneath said positions. These are valid descriptions, so please pay close attention. The Basic Categories Are: Admin, Moderator, Deity, Guardian, Elder, Avalonian Royalty, Fincayran Royalty, Nobility, Knight of the Realm, Dungeon Master, Member and Away Admin: {Kaliyah, Renegade, Teario, Denthúl, Xue Jian.} Admin are what keep Avalon actually alive. The admin are represented by those with Blue and italicized member colors, and are the highest level of authority on Avalon. If an admin says you are not allowed to do something, do not do it. They can warn, un-warn, ban, and make it so you can never return. The admin have written the rules, and are therefore in charge of general site maintenance, post count options, and warning/banning you if you do not follow the set rules. Rules are not set in stone, however, so remember to read over them often to check for any changes. Moderator {Lantana.} Moderators take care of the Shops, and make sure the links and pictures are maintained and kept up after. Moderators delete your posts in the shops, take pictures and edit your signatures to place them there, and then subtract your posts to pay, to give you your items completely. Moderators have access to a Staff Discussion area, which is password protected, and they may post suggestions, ideas, and other information sent to them. Deity {Kaliyah-Death, Kioku-War, Drysin-Dragons [Always Remembered].} The deities of Avalon are specially chosen members who have applied for a current deity-ship over a certain domain. They are not, however, Guardians of the elements, such as Fire. These Gods and Goddess have the greatest power over all member groups (IC). Often said to be immortal, the God/esses have no problem taking down opponents of any race or class. They have special abilities that no one else has, and sometimes the power goes to their heads. Some however are good and others evil, more often than not however deities are neutral, it all depends on character preference. All Deities are chosen with their knowledge of the rules, and are the highest in character position one can gain in the Lands of Avalon. Gods have followers and High priests, and are known to give items to their followers for their loyalty. You may PM a God or Goddess to ask them questions, for most of them are very familiar with the site and are well trusted by the admin. Guardian {Alezra-Earth, Kael-Water.} Guardians protect a specific element in Avalon, such as Fire, Water, Earth, etc. These Guardians have complete and limit-less control over their element, and few are cruel enough to turn it against anyone entering their temple. Guardians range from kind, caring individuals, to neutral individuals caring about the arts, to cruel and evil individuals. The element, however, does not choose the alignment of the individual. These characters were around Avalon long before they were given their control of their element. Guardians of a specific element, do have followers and High priests, and are known to give items to their followers for their loyalty. Elder {BlueDragon, Aziel, Arcaine, Denthúl, Xue Jian} The Protector/Elders are skilled roleplayers who are chosen for their protective nature, and ability to roleplay. These protectors/elders protect the Sacred grounds, and test the Guardians and God/ess before they may ascend into their position in Avalon. These tests may be as simple as a riddle, or as difficult as a maze or running challenge, or even a battle. The test is on the discretion of the Protector/Elder. A Protector/Elder is advanced on Avalon, and also highly respected as a roleplayer. Avalonian Royalty {} The Avalonian Royalty is a group of respected members on Avalon who have ascended into the positions of king, Queen, Prince, and Princess of Avalon. They are given In Character reign over Avalon, controlling the Nobles of their country, and also controlling armies that their country owns. The Avalonian Royalty group is also an important factor when planning for any war, and if interested, please PM a member of the Avalonian Royalty section for a roleplay. Fincayran Royalty {} The Fincayran Royalty is a group of respected members on Fincayra who have ascended into the positions of King, Queen, Prince, and Princess of Fincayra. They are given In Character reign over Fincayra, controlling the Nobles of their country, and also controlling armies that their country owns. The Fincayran Royalty group is also an important factor when planning for any war, and if interested, please PM a member of the Fincayran Royalty section for a roleplay. Nobility {Augustijn Osterhout-Drakenfeld, Sujin-Preah, Rylianis-Ataxarch.} The Nobles of Avalon are much like rulers of certain areas in Avalon or Fincayra. Nobles are excellent roleplayers, and highly respected on Avalon for they are Hand-picked by the Admin. They are chosen on personality, Roleplaying abilities, and activeness, and are given a certain region to rule over in Avalon. Nobles are the Dukes, Duchess, Lady, Lord, Baron, Baroness, etc. of a certain area. This can be a city or township in Avalon, or a forest where one would run free and hunt. Nobles receive a home to conduct their affairs and live in, and a small city based military to protect. Knight of the Realm {Avalon: Yvette Lelfrin, Yrdith J'usk, Snorri Hillcarver, Siegfried Dragonstein, Schugar Bes, Raphael Vestunia, Piers Aldridge, Paris Feyral, Maurin Reynn, Lácuis Mosdath, Delaimus Gravenhage, Arkantos. Fincayra:} These are Knights that serve under the King of either Avalon or Fincayra. They are chosen by their respective monarchs to protect their lands or otherwise further their cause. Dungeon Master {Dungeon Master I-LJ, Dungeon Master II-Carter, Dungeon Master III-Xue Jian, NPC I-Sel} The dungeon master is not a character per se. Instead, he fills a number of roles within any thread in which he is active, mostly involving setting the scene and driving the plot forward with NPC interaction. These accounts are shared by the Avalon staff. Member {Everyone Not Listed above ^^} Members are the majority of Avalon, and are also as highly respected as others. members are what hold Avalon together. The other parts take roles in and out of Character, where as, the Member allows the roleplay boards to flood and create some wonderful ratings. Members are also known for their abilities to influence the decisions of the other positions. The other positions are only here to serve the members, and without the members, if everyone had a position of some sort, it would not be as satisfying to help in their own special way. The members are one of the most important groups of Avalon. Away Members of all rank who are offline from Avalon for an extended period of time can request to be put in the away group. This was once used to avoid pruning, but we don't prune accounts anymore. Newcomer The newcomer group is what every account becomes upon registration. Members inthis group are only allowed to post in character description and help forums, in order to protect us from spam bots. How to Gain a Position All other positions are given based on an application thread the administrators put up at certain times. We have none open at the moment but have plans for new positions coming soon. Anyone is able to reply and they have to tell us things such as why their character would be suited for the position, how long and active they've been on the site, etc. Based on the applications we then pick the most qualified for the job and someone we know won't just take a position title, then split on us. Any character is allowed to apply once we have the board up. There'll always be an announcement if positions become available. EXCEPTIONS: Nobility are chosen in a different way. They are hand picked by an admin who has deemed them an asset to the site as a whole and has roleplay experience. Royalty, only the king is chosen. Then he chooses his queen and their children become the princes and princesses of the realm. How NOT to Gain a Position Asking, begging, demanding of positions are sure fire ways to never gain one. Being a mean spirited member in general is a sure way to not be chosen no matter how great your application may be. The ONLY WAY to gain a position is to apply ONLY when the announcement has been made that you may do so. If an Admin thinks you worthy of one of the non-application positions, WE will contact you, not the other way around. Those who hold member titles are chosen because they are deemed assets, not liabilities to Avalon. ~_^ |
