A cold wind blew over the island known to be the nest of the sea dragons. Salt filled the air as waves crashed upon the rocky shores. Deep within the sparkling blue waters one could see the shadows of the massive Sea Dragons, known to be some of the most fierce members of the Draconian race. Grithore stood on a cliff over looking the twisting caves of that his Ocean Fairing cousins had dug into the earth, making it the perfect place to house their offspring until they were old enough to head out into the waters themselves. His eyes were slightly narrowed, causing shadows to play over his face as his black hair blew around in the salty wind. His people were being neglected, uncared for and abandoned. Here, as well as in the lost lands, they were hunted, persecuted for being superior, that being their only crime.

Leaning back, he filled his chest with air and roared, the sound reverberating off the cliffs and mingling with the sound of waves crashing. The churning water slowed as the sea dragons lifted their heads from the water to look at the new comer, many confused at the sight of what would appear to be a mere Draconian on their nest. One of the females became worried about her children and blasted a jet of water toward him, this was quickly followed by another and another, until he was literally being pushed down by the harsh current that was threatening to swallow him up, and wash him away. He planted his feet, and with another roar his hands began to spark with electricity, growing brighter and bigger, before he thrust his hands into the jets of on coming water, and sent a sharp electrical blast back into the water jets and into the Sea Dragon's mouths, shocking most of them, who stopped and stared at the Black/Copper dragon in shock. "I didn't come to fight you! Merely to observe and speak to you." He said. He was about to continue when he felt what was nearly a telepathic slap, someone else was here...

The air around him was calm, yet had potential. It felt soft and cool against Leon's face, yet he knew that something wasn't right about the wind today. Leon never worked well with creatures bigger than him and to make it worse there were dragons in the water and sometimes flying above his head. If one started to go on ground level, Leon hid in a nearby cave or a hole that didn't look like it was caused by nature. A loud noise came from a distance. Sounded like water splashing, but loudly. Leon quickly looked in the direction where it had came from to see waves of water flying towards a cliff. How are waves shooting into the sky? Leon asked himself as he jumped from rock to rock, making sure not to trip or slip.

Just as Leon got close enough to where the water had been shot from, lied a dragon that could crush Leon without hardly moving a muscle. Leon was shaking. Some reason he knew the dragon would not attack him, rather even noticed him. The dragon had a different target. And it was somewhere above the cliff.

As Leon observed the water soaring through the wind, what had the appearence of lightning, shot right through it and shocked the dragon. Leon rushed to beneath the cliff. A man stold above him. After calling to the dragon, it was if the man felt Leon's presence. Leon didn't want to make a wrong move, so he did what any coward would do. I'm not here to fight! Just walking around and exploring. Leon found vines then climbed his way to the top of the cliff.

Leon arrived at the top then came in sight of the man. His eyes looked as if he was looking to kill something. You don't look so friendly sir. Leon said as he scratched his head. The man seemed concerned with something. The name's Leon, Is there anything wrong?

Grithore turned his attention away from the sea dragons, and turned it instead upon the human who had climbed the cliff, and who was daring to talk into his mind as if they were equals. "The problem, human, is the injustice and neglect of one of the most intelligent creatures the world has ever seen." When he spoke, his voice poured in venom as the spoke the word human. Filthy primates at their need of self assurance, and believing themselves better than everyone else. So far the only monkey he had seen and felt worth following was his Goddess, Kaliyah.

He turned his attention back on the sea dragons, who he could tell were listening in to the conversation, their minds working on how exactly to take everything. "We dragons were the first intelligent race to walk the planet, we unlocked the secrets that you humans stole, along with your elven cousins." His yellow eyes glistened as he folded down the hood of his cloak. He pushed the material back exposing a powerful black set of armor, matching the great dragon helm atop his head. A large sword was tilted on his back, the hilt sticking up from over his left shoulder, the weapon known as Betrayal, the brother of the legendary Excalibur. On either side of his waist hung two massive double blades, forged from his own infant dragon fangs, they were acidic to the touch, and melted flesh, bone, and armor of those who did not have permission to touch them, so really everyone but Grithore himself.

His left arm was covered by a dark gray gauntlet that was covered in an ethereal fire, waiting to be put to use. His right arm held a red and black gauntlet, swirling in lightning. Both hands were left bare, something that was needed for his Decaying powers, where holding something in his hand could literally melt flesh from bone. His stance was one of power, and control, the kind needed to lead an army. And an army was what he had. Swooping out of the sky came a Wyvern and Dragon, followed closely by thirty draconians, each armed with a powerful scimitar, ready to cleave through the flesh of the opposition should it arrive. "Today, we dragons start our right for independence, no longer will we hide in the mountains and the aired landscapes we were exiled too." The powerful Great Black Dragon, turned his eyes focused on the human, his yellow sight filled orbs seeming to crackle with power. "Now, are you with us, or against us?"

The man that stold before him was one of the most frightening things he had ever placed his eyes on. Was it the powers he had or the army he controled, Leon had no clue. The decision was apon Leon. To join or opose. He somehow figured he couldn't choose the option of simply running away. The man was fighting to get the lands for his fellow dragons. Seemed like a reasonable cause. Leon smiled then looked at the man before him. I'm in! I will fight by your side. All I ask of you fine sir, is your name. I need a lord to fight under. Leon went down to his knees and kneeled before this man who had a reason to fight...A reason to kill.

The Earth will shake.
Something was wrong. She could feel it, she could hear it, the earth told her so. I am the only one. She had to save it, save them, mankind and dragonkind, her kind ... well she didn't have a kind. The young guardian felt both sides, that she did, being a chimera with a dragon's being and a shapeshifter with human feeling. She couldn't let this happen, no no, oh no. The earth would burn, the earth would die, her shrine in the desert even trembled. Like it had when the war had come, but she'd not understood it then. She understood it now. Alezra had traveled from desert to plain, wild wood to mountain, volcano, tundra, and now, now across the sea. The chimera trekked slowly, her strength conserving, there was going to be a fight, she knew it. But her breath was calm, her pace even, she was strong, she'd show them. Show them that the world was worth protecting, not even war and plague could destroy their earth. Not if she had anything to say about it.

The chimera stalked, ears pricked forward at the sound of voice. While the water still clung to her fur from the swim here, she was still silent in her approach. A voice, a scent, they were he same, that is to say she remembered them. A great crashing through the forest, a menagerie of beasts, and a dragon with man's words. 'Why him?' The chimera asked herself, her thoughts drifting as she halted behind rocks and crashing waves, heavy clawed forepaws latching onto rock as she crouched low. And a boy, there was another. While the earth wielder did not understand the talk of lords and the act of bowing, she watched still, silent. 'Why him? Bad, bad. No, no, no.' Her wings flattened against her back as a wave splashed over her. Wet again, ah well, fur dries. 'Can't let do this. No war, no more, no death, not man, not earth, not his.'

She was a guardian, she was to protect.

As Leon was trying to figure out a way to prove his trust with his lord, he heard a strange noise. It was as if a rock had fallen into the water. Rocks fall into the water all the time Leon. It's nature. Leon kept telling himself that as he sat on a tree stump looking at the sea. It was crystal clear, a beautiful blue, and it went so far out. Such a beautiful site. If only it could be placed into a small box, so I could carry it around and enjoy when I'm down. Leon realized he was talking himself after he heard the silence of the wind. Awkward! His thoughts called.

That voice.

It haunted him clearly as he turned to look in the direction of the thoughts that came toward him. It was odd how his telepathy worked in waves that could have destroyed ones concentration. But he felt a pull at the same time. The need and fear that it held within it, the concern for the lives that could be taken if he continued on his path, even his own. The swelling feeling of purpose and love that drifted toward him brought tears to his eyes causing him to turn away. If he continued down this path for Kaliyah he would destroy himself, not just feigning evil as he had been doing in the past, but truly become like the Goddess of Blood and the man who fathered him.

He lowered himself to one knee as his eyes burned, a tear falling down his cheek, causing the black mark Kaliyah had given him to burn. These, the people surrounding him, all had a noble person in mind. One to serve an Noble, and the other to protect life. He had come hoping to prove himself to a mindless monster of a Goddess, who lived only for blood. "Girl, come here." He spoke softly, but he was certain she could hear him. He had not seen her since his brief stay in the Enchanted forest, along side friends he had long since cast away. He would wait for her to come to him before he continued speaking, wanting to talk her only, the feel for the need of battle driven from him by her sincere thoughts and emotions, that were overwhelming him.

Her claws gripped the stone, wolfish ears perked in the direction of the two. What were they planning .... something ..... something. It was not good, talk of territory and battle. The earth was everyone's, every creature's, there was no cause to slay others for it. After all, there was plenty of the world to go around. The chimera did not understand the reason for war and land claim, and even though animals held their own territories they never took more than was needed. Being what she was, she had to protect, she could not survive otherwise. To know that she abandoned those who need her help, the guardian couldn't do it. I guardian, I protect, it what I do. Always will.

A voice. Her ears twitched. Peridot eyes glanced around at the voice. There was no one else, only the dragon and the boy and her. The guardian rose, standing tall upon the top of the stones. As her tails gave a flick she leapt, jumping from stone to stone with ease before landing softly on the sands before the dragon. "Shouldn't fight. No good." Though she was not human, mere beast really, her tone was serious, a forewarning. "Keep going. I have to fight. Don't want to. But have to."

Leon watched as the chimera talked and explained that she had no choice but to fight. He looked into her eyes then scratched his head. If it's what you must do, then so be it. We all have paths. If you stray away from your path, then death will look you in the face. Before Leon could blink, he remembered when he had a sword through his body. When death was infront him. It was as if he suddenly felt the pain that once went through his body. I know that I can't change your mind, ma'am. So I won't even attempt to bug you. Just please, who ever is still standing...May I ask for a second chance?

Before Leon could think about what he was going to do, he looked at the chimera then pulled his katana from his shealth. He sighed then gripped his sword. He ran at the girl. When he was about two feet from her, he swung his sword as fast as he could. Leon swung his blade a few more times before loseing his breath. He jumped back then stopped to take a breather.

Absurd fool! The dragon screamed in his mind as he saw the boy attack the chimera. He didn't even think before he moved, his weapons lay forgotten beside him as he moved between the man attacking with the sword, and the young girl. He felt sword pierce and tear the flesh of his back as he looked down on the Chimera, the very type of person he had made himself believe he was helping. Here he was, his quest not yet started and already someone under his commanded was attempting to harm one of the ones he had just sworn to avenge. The other Draconian warriors stood, watching the attack, knowing better than to try to step in and protect their leader, he had already proved himself stronger than they were, and they felt close to him, and his need to not fight unless needed to. They hated the Goddess of Blood and what she had been turning him into, but none of them had the power to try and help.

Acid poured down his back, burning at the clothes upon him, and burning through the straps that usually carried his weapons, the sheaths falling to the ground and kicking up dust. His breathing was heavy, but already the cuts had begun to stitch themselves, the flow of his acidic blood slowing to a halt. He did not turn toward the boy, but instead continued to look down upon the chimera. "No, no fighting. It helps no one. His voice was soft, filled with the pain that racked his body upon being attacked with out defense in protecting the girl. "We.. are not so different.." He dropped to one knee, the amount of energy it was taking to heal himself was taking its toll, as sixty Draconian men moved to circle their leader and the chimera, facing outward, and some looking straight at the boy, making hushed whispers about how he would dare try to step in when the Lord Angra Mainyu had called out someone himself. Some shot him disgusted looks at his lack of honor, while others looked at Grithore in a new light, for once seeing his true strength rather than the power he tried to rely on.

The chimera was unfazed by the sudden onslaught of the boy wit the sword. She was sure she remembered him, from somewhere, but she gave no sign of goin on the defensive. In truth she wouldn't being as fleet of foot a creature as she was. All the chimera would do is get out of the way. She was fast enough to do it. "Not said kill. Not make stay. Only stop from hurting others." The chimera stood tall, hind claws digging into the sandy earth. She did not unsheathe claws nor bare fang, she simply waited. It was why she had not expected the dragon to dart in the way, sword slicing across black and acidic blood spilling to earth. The chimera lowered her head sadly.

"No need for that, no need for hurt. I'm the one supposed to protect." Ignoring the boy and the surrounded draconians altogether she stepped lightly towards the dragon. Circling around him she inspected the wound and, finding it to be healing itself, she stepped away. Green eyes had since shifted to the muttering draconians, and they approached the ones gathered at their back. Offering no conversation, she abruptly leapt clear over their heads, landing before the boy holding the sword in his hand. "He rest now. You want fight? I'll let you fight. Protect your own cause."

Leon looked at the man he wanted to help as the man bled some kind of acid from his back. The blood like substance dripping from his blade made him look like a killer. Leon was quick to drop his katana.

After the chimera finished talking, Leon wasn't sure if he wanted to even think of hurting her. She was gentle and seemed kind. Infact, it was as if they met before. He scratched his head then looked into the chimera's eyes. This may be the wrong time, but I think I've met you before. Memmories of her temple floating back into Leon's head.

Leon thought about what he had done. He attacked a person who had done him nothing. She had even helped him in the past. It was crystal clean what he had done. No...I don't want to fight. I'm sorry for attempting to hurt you, ma'am. And sorry I hurt you my lord. Leon dropped to his knees. He begged for a second chance.

"Clean your blade boy." The vampire dragon spoke as he rose to his feet, his powerful body moving as fluid as water, but with the structure of his Fortress itself behind it. "My blood will dissolve your weapon in minutes if left on there." It was true, already a hissing noise could be heard as his blood began to attempt to devour the metal of the blade. His black hair fell down his back as he began moving forward, his draconian men stepping out of his way, a bit more awed by his display then they had been when he had merely used it for tormenting people to prove his power, but they could sense the hurt deep inside that had drove him on, obsessing with proving himself to the Goddess of Blood.

Fire danced in his eyes as he knelt beside the Guardian of Earth once more, his hand reaching out and laying upon her back. "Forgive me, Alezra, I truly didn't want destruction, only peace. But if that peace means the death of countless people, than is it worth it?" His voice was softer, quieter, and barely above a whisper, though he was certain everybody in the vicinity had heard him. I am not my father... He said inside his head, as his eyes turned away from the two people standing so near to him.

Good good, it was all well and good. She truly did not wish to fight. While the young guardian no doubt had great power behind that mystical form, she was passive by nature. Much like her element wouldn't you say? The chimera altered her position as soon as the boy dropped his blade. He didn't want to fight, good, she wouldn't want to hurt him after all. "I looked different then, don't expect you to recognize now." Ever since she had learned the art of shapeshifting, the guardian had always tried to keep to a form that suited her company best. Though she never meant harm, she knew that her unusual appearance scared some off. Though animals much preferred her true form. And so she was always shifting back and forth to appease those around her. In preparation for battle though, it was her natural powers she took. But she felt no need to change now.

The chimera only gave a slight tilt of her head, an ivory ear twitching briefly. "Stand up. You only did what you thought right." Taking a seat on the ocean side sands, the chimera turned her gaze to the dragon before her. Though she did not understand such parental feelings he had for her, there was kinship, he was her friend. She was only glad she had been able to help keep him safe. "No harm was done so no need for forgive."
