Keeper of the Code

His patience was wearing thin. How long had they been at sea? It felt like far to long. They were desperate need of new crew members and supplies. The captain of the Queen Anne's Revenge, placed his tricorne upon his head, his black hair pulled into place by a black bandanna that matched his beard. His blue eyes were aflame with desire to get on land and get something to drink. They had run afoul of a reef alongside the eastern coast of Fincayra, and been running out supplies until finally they had. No water, no rum, no food. This had the pirate already scowling with anger at himself, for steering into the reef, and more so at his men's insatiable appetite that drained their supplies so quickly. He was not known for being stingy when it came to food, water and rum, but when they needed to ration they seemed unable to. His black frock coat hung down to his knees, and his white shirt clashed with the material as well as his black pants and boots. He wasn't particularly in a caring mood. His ship had been damaged and it needed to be fixed quickly. He knew no one on Open Air Market would willingly help their former Noble, after his rushing off to become the dreaded Black Beard and all. As a Noble he had been kind hearted, trusted and admired. But as a Pirate, he was the most ruthless man on the sea. He had killed several of his own men for attempting to get fresh water with out his permission, in the last few days. He decided that first thing was first, food and water for himself, his crew using their own split of the plunder to gain what they wanted, and then it was off to find someone to repair the ship. His thick leather boots beat against the wooden stairs leading from his private quarters to the deck. He had already called down the Colors, not wanting his flag flying so that people would come running to them prepared for pirates walking among them. Though it would be difficult to hide his black ship, and sails. His eyes flashed toward his cook, fellow pirate upon Flint's ship at one point, Long Jon Silver. Both men knew not to totally trust each other, but they were friends. Jon would never kill Edward, nor other wise, though they were bad for marooning each other when it came to mutinies. Silver made his way down the plank to the dock, with Edward behind him. "Silver, you get food and water for the ships, then meet me in the 'Dragon's Tavern', we need to find someone to repair the ship." His words were met with an "Aye Aye" and a playful elbowing before the one legged pirate began moving again on his crutch. As he headed for the market, Edward began heading toward the tavern. He was famished, and standing at nearly six and a half feet tall, with a stomach that could eat a horse and not get full, he was worried about his money. When he stepped up to the old worn doors of the tavern, he looked at it closely. Who ever had bought it now kept it good condition. It looked just as bad as the first time Edward Teach had found it, and just as good as well. He couldn't tell if it was meant to look like it was about to cave in, or not, but he liked it all the same. His palms against the swinging doors, he pushed, the doors violently banging off the walls, and closing behind him as he stood, looking at the sailors who filled the tavern, most looking at him with awe and fear, some looked familiar, so he guessed he had boarded their ships at one point. "Waitress! Bring me a bottle of rum, and keep them coming! I've not had a decent drink in days, and its time for me to make up for it!" He walked over to a table next to the stairs, the people sitting there leaping up, wiping the table off behind them as they took their drinks, begging apologies and uttering sorrys. Black Beard rolled his eyes, God how he hated them. |
