Here, in the land of the Dragons of Fincarya, news had spread of a new threat. One the people who wandered the land could not bring recollection of. It was massive in size, and the earth shook when it walked, much like a dragon, only it had no wings. Instead it held a great fin along its back like a fish at sea. Its massive jaws lined with spikes, and nearly the same length as a man's body was tall. It walked on two legs, but its forearms were powerful still, swatting away a dragon's maw, when one got to close to its neck. The fin along its back was said to stand the height of a great man, nearly 2 meters (6 feet), and in length nearly 20 meters (66 feet) from its nose to its tail. Many had seen it, it made no movement to stay in hiding, attacking Dragon and Beast alike with out fear.

It preferred to stay around the coastal part of the Lost Lands, rather then where people usually found themselves cutting through the center. Its particular interest were around the cave inlined cliffs, where many dragon's made their homes. Its roar was like the peal of thunder in the heavens, sending many to cower as though its fury would be directed at them next. Now it was a train of people, having left the Port of Avalon, only to strike ashore due to a storm that had commenced the night before. Now they were forced to travel on foot toward their destination, Cithaelian. They had been directed by roars, to witness a battle that many spoke of, now for their own eyes.

Xian loved having people watch him when he fought. He had followed the group since their ship had struck the shore. Following them in the sky with his light wings in his more human form. Though to call it that would have been an a-front to humans everywhere, he was a freak, and he knew it, he hated it, but he loved the thrill of battle, and people watching. Now he had found himself a true challenge, he had grown tired of killing the younger dragons, the weaker ones, whom he had used to make his way. Though his eyes were unseeing, his mind showed him the beast he fought against, the true animal. The dragon was older than any he had found so far here in Fincayra. He had been difficult to keep landed, until Xian had bit his wings, severing the scaled skin that gave the dragon flight.

Taloned claws tore at scaled skin, as Dragon and Dinosaur wared against each other for not only their lives, but for the glory. In a thunderous step, Xian stepped away, his tail lashing around, as he turned, and slamming against the dragon's jaw, sending it thrashing to the ground. Xian's monstrous form loomed over the downed enemy before biting at it, catching its arm in his mouth before shaking his head and tearing upward while stepping back, tearing the dragon's arm from its body. Blood gushed from the wound, and the sent of it was nearly enough to drive Xian into a frenzy as his massive body demanded food. As the dragon stood, its tattered wings blowing weakly in the winds, the Spinosaurus reared his head back, releasing an awe inspiring roar before rushing foward, slamming into the dragon again.

The forgotten soldier watched. He'd not known of dragons and their kin before, only heard stories about them. And so he decided that maybe they were partly true. For one thing they certainly were large beasts, full of scales and fangs and some of them had wings. The only man in a military uniform might have stood out from the crowd if it hadn't been for the fighting beasts they were watching. He was only here because for once, he was sating his own curiosity. Besides, it wasn't every day one got to witness a battle between such blood thirsty critters as these. Not even he could bring himself to abandon the rest of the crowd and cease becoming a spectator. No one else wanted to miss anything either, as the crowd shuffled amongst themselves. A great roar seemed to wash over them all as the stranger of the two dragons tore the winged one's arm off. And it then consumed it. Predator had become prey it seemed.

He watched still as the crowd gasped in awe and muttered amongst themselves in amazement. The bolder of them had even edged closer while the more sly had begun setting up bets on which scaled monstrosity would be eaten. It wasn't until one particularly stupidly courageous fool had drawn weapons of his own and moved to advance. To slay a dragon, even one distracted and the other already bleeding to death. The offender no doubt thought it quite stunning and brave of him. But it was nothing short of stupidity. The soldier had no weapons of his own, but perhaps old habits really did die hard. To protect the weaker, even if they were rather moronic, hadn't changed with him just yet.

With a quick few steps forward he pulled the man back with only one hand, shoving him back to the crowd with a shake of his head. "I'm sure he would think you a lovely appetizer." The soldier gave an audible sigh. "Just stay back." While the brave fool didn't like being told what to do, he suddenly noticed the man's dress and stepped back. Not even he was fool enough to mess with the military. Irving would laugh about it later. Military, not him, not anymore. He was just a foreigner and a refugee to boot, these days.
