The young thief felt slightly better when Beast assured her it was nothing but a dream. She watched patiently as he opened the book. It smelled musty, and looked, like it smelled, really old. The handwriting was almost illegible and in a language that she was not able to understand, as was Beast it seemed. Casi felt disappointment about all this now. She pulled her knees up and rested her arms on them. "Those men we made the deal with... Perhaps they could help us? They said they would be here for a couple of days. Beast, I propose that tomorrow we go back into town and find them. I know it will be hard to convince them, but we have to try. We've put a great deal of effort into this." she said looking across to Beast and then to where Draco was. "Would you help us as well, Draco... It could come in handy."

"I doubt that will be neccisary," Said Beast, thinking back to the exchange, "I doubt those men had it figure out themselves, else they wouldn't have parted with it so easily. I should have know better," he said, silently scolding himself for not thinking of that sooner. "No matter, it's just a matter of finding the key to the code. Codes like this are usually deciphered through a certain key word, so we just need to figure out what that is, and we can make a start." However, he could see Casi was exhausted, while he had rested, she had been working. "But I think it would be a good idea to rest first," he said, closing the book and putting it into his pack.

"I'd love to help," said Draco, enthisiatically, but was sort of disappointed when Beast put the book away and said they should rest, but the part about the code was interesting, "Is it like a puzzle? Or a riddle? I like riddles, is it ok if I look at it? Pleeeease??? I promise I won't break it or anything, I figured out how to turn pages without tearing them and everything when I was back home."

Casi heard the words Beast spoke and nodded, perhaps it would not be needed, but it was always worth a try. All that she could pray for now was that they somehow found this key. "Guess so." she said, stifling a yawn. She was not about to argue about sleep. She nodded enthusiastically and flopped back into the hay and closed her eyes, a content look on her face. "Well, at least we got the book." she whispered quietly. It did not take long for her to fall fast asleep. She heard the words that Draco spoke, but only faintly. She was going to let Beast handle it. It was his book and his choice on who got to see it.

Beast brought the book out once more, wondering if it were a good idea to let the dragon handle the book. It might be delicate in it's old age, it it was very unlikely that he would be able to find another copy. Still, the dragon had helped them out, and it didn't seem likely that he would do intentional harm to the book, but still...

"How about this, I'll hold the book, and you can look at it. It's noting personal, but this book is very old, and could very easil come apart if handled roughly. I would just rather not risk any damage to it since we won't be able to find another copy if this one is lost." He held the book open for Drake to see, hoping the dragon would agree to these terms.

Casi was fast asleep shortly after that. Sleep often did not come to her easily, but tonight she was so exhausted that she hardly dreamt. Normally her dreams where just nightmares, but on the odd occasion she would have a good dream, one that reflected her greatest desires, like living a life different to her current one. Casi turned over onto her side, her head resting on her arm.
She began murmuring things in her sleep, names, places, and some other random things that really made no sense. "Beast..." she murmured before falling silent for the rest of the night.

With things settling down, the three took their rest to recover from the days event. Unfortunatly they would soon learn that the cure had been discovered, and that Avalon would start slowly recovering. The book would stay in Beasts possession, as he hoped to see if he could find something in it's bindings that would be of use in his quest to recover his humanity, or at least to be able to help others who may be in need.
