She picked her way inamoungst the sharp jagged rocks that covered this region. She had heard stories about this place. Stories of the creatures that lurked in this part of of Avalon. She walked on quietly, making sure not to make too much noise that would attract attention to her presence. The winds where too strong for her to take flight, otherwise she would have flown over this desolate region of Avalon. The wind whipped past her, blowing her silver hair back, and untying it. She pulled her cloak closer to her, and folded her arms. The few miserable plants that grew in this region where of no use to anyone. She kept her senses open, just to make sure she did not bump into some unwanted company.

Quickness, not something one found to their advantage usually, but something that Tobias was taking full advantage of here, at this time. A group of orcs had come, ready to tear the former angel to shreds, probably hoping to take him back to their cave or what have you and devour what they would salvage from his remains. That was something Tobias was not willing to tolerate. He did not wear his armor at this point, it was where it belonged, within his flesh. His orange eyes took in his opponents from beneath his red bangs, his black hair falling down over his back. He held his sword, Betrayal, in his right hand, as he watched the four orcs grunt and drool as they spoke in a horrible version of common tongue, describing to one another which parts of him they would rather eat first.

Moving forward with surprising speed, Tobias moved forward, running toward the orcs rather than away from them as a "human" would have. Pushing off the ground with his right foot he caught the first orc in the side of the face with a well placed kick, the strength of his leg pushing the orc from the small path and down the jagged, steep slope of the mountain. He waisted no time as he landed, driving his sword into another orc's body until his hand touched the leather like skin. Grabbing his right wrist with his left hand he picked the orc up from where it stood, blood gurgling from its mouth and swung his blade, sending the second orc plummeting to its death.

He caught sight of a third orc swinging its massive tree limb sized club at Tobias' head. Springing back on his hands, facing away from the orc, he latched onto the orc's arm with his feet, and continued to move in a flip, pulling the orc up and over his body, before releasing it, sending it flying into one of the rocks that jutted out from the mountain making the path that much more dangerous, and impaled him, the rock's thickness nearly tearing the orc in half. As he landed on his feet, he turned and looked at the other orc, who stood still, watching the fate of his small band. This one was more clever than its friends, and turn to run. Seeing this, Tobias threw his blade toward the orc, the sharp dragontear tearing into the base of the base of the orc's neck, before a sharp tug on its leather strap decapitated the creature as the sword returned to its owners hand.

Sheathing his sword on his back once more, Tobias sat leaning against the moutain in a spot where he could do so comfortably, and bypass the blood that was beginning to trickle down the path in a stream from the decapitated orc. "And that, is how you disband a small band of orcs." He said, laughing slightly to himself as he remembered his father showing him those moves so many years ago in Atlantis' training grounds, as he quoted part of his father's lecture afterwards.

Narina continued on forward, making as little noise as possible. As she walked on she felt a sudden fear engulf her, she reached inside of herself for her powers, ready to take flight as a dragon if necessary. She walked on forward, curiosity over coming her. She heard a great commotion up ahead and peered around the corner of the mountain, and saw a battle raging between orcs and what appeared to be a normal human. He moved with speed and agility, killing off the orcs. Her eyes widened as she watched the orcs meet there deaths one at a time. Narina looked towards the man who had done the deeds; he had, what appeared to be a mask of some sort over his face, a mask that appeared to be made of bone, and saw the pools of blood on the ground, trickling down the path and past where she stood. She watched as he sat down and heard him laugh to himself and speak. She took cautious step forward and away from her cover. She kept the magic within her close and easy to reach, she did not wish to meet a fait like that that the orcs had met. She looked at him, her green eyes still wide. “I’ve never seen anything like that before” she said in a soft quaking voice. She felt afraid, more afraid than she would have been even if there were still orcs about.

He had known of her presence for some time. It was difficult to be quiet on the rocky path, when every step you take sends another score of small rocks rolling down the mountain side. He had learned that, as had the orcs before they had fallen to him. He was not a General for no reason. Even if he did have to fight youngsters to prove his point. He did loathe the idea of fighting a child, but the boy, Gaijin, had been very clear with his desire to fight the older warrior. He was, he had to admit, a bit surprised when she stepped around the side of the path, appearing like a ghost, and ready to flee in terror of a monster.

She spoke, it was a compliment as far as Tobias was concerned, the effects of terror on a single person, when no terror had been put forth. It was not out of respect that the girl came out of hiding, but out of fear, fear that Tobias would do to her what he had done to the orcs. "How long have you been watching?" He asked, pushing himself to his feet. His tanned face looking her over with his orange eyes, his scarlet bangs hanging down over his face, as his black locks fell over his back and shoulders. Rather then being dressed in all black, as one of his alignment might usually do, he was rather dressed in white, a small sign that he still clang to his holy roots.

"So, what reasons does someone like yourself have doing on a dangerous mountain path in the middle of nowhere?" Tobias asked her, as he fiddled with the strap of his sword, which remained sheathed across his back. The orcs had been nothing to play around with, they could have easily crushed someone his own size, if they had hesitated. Orcs were powerful, beastly, humanoids with a knack for smelling better dead then they did alive. "And you better, answer quickly."

She felt herself going pale, and cold. She watched as he got to his feet and asked how long she had been watching the fight. She felt rather afraid to speak, but knew that not answering would be rude. "from the beginning of the fight, Sir" she stuttered. She watched his hand playing with the straps of his sword, and shifted her weight slightly, to a position that would make it easier to get out of this place if necessary. "just passing through this miserable place, the winds are to strong for me to fly, so i had to walk." she replied quickly, searching him for signs of his next action. She saw nothing that would give him away. "what reason do you have sir?" she asked, returning the question. She shifted her eyes away from him and towards the dead orc, impaled on the rock. Blood dripped from its broken body. She snarled slightly as the smell reached her, it was a foul smell, not to be enjoyed by anyone.

Tobias might have agreed with the woman a year ago about the smell of the dead orcs, but as it was at the moment, he found it to be refreshing. She looked nervous, and took a stance that suggested that she was ready to flee, to run away as a coward, and forever lose her honor. He smiled. Not the warm smile to let one know that all would be alright. This was the smile of a sick, and twisted individual who looked out for number one, himself. He had not more concerns in place about anything else, no one mattered but himself, and he would make sure all knew that. But she was brave enough to ask him a question, not something one expected to hear from a girl who looked as if she were ready to wet herself.

"I am here," he started, thinking of a reason to tell her, but somewhat found himself at a loss as to why he was here himself. He had not really planned to take the mountains, it was just something that sort of happened, an accident. "I am here, to make sure that everything is prepared for my arrival. If it is not, then I will kill, every living thing in this mountain range, and watch their blood form a river at the bottom of the valley. Is that a good enough answer for you?" He asked, his eyes narrowing as he looked at her, daring her to say that she needed more information, that she needed to give him the third degree, or play twenty questions with him. "What is your name, Girl?"

She saw him smile, not in a kind fashion, but in a sick and demented way. She raised her eyebrow at this and relaxed herself.”Being afraid of that which you do not know is such a waste of time and energy" she mumbled. Her facial expression changed back to one of a blank look, not bothered about life, death or anything, completely forgetting the fear she had been feeling not so long ago. She leaned against the rock face and looked at him as he replied to her question. She grunted in approval, though something he had said was puzzling her. “Why would you want to slay everything on this mountain? Have the creatures of these mountains done wrong to you? ” she asked, sure, the creatures that inhabited the mountains where no more than savage monsters, but they also had a right to live, even if she did not completely accept this herself. She had seen the challenging look in his eyes and cared not. If she wished to ask questions then she would, even if she did not get an answer. “And my name is Narina, what is yours?” she asked. She spoke with a tone of slight boredom on her voice. If things got out of control, she was always able to get out of the problem.
