Antigone looked up to see a fireball launched at her. Rolling her body along the crevice, she dropped and held onto the edge. Intense heat burned above he fingers and she felt the skin char. Screaming aloud, she waited for the ball of flame to die, then pulled herself up. Looking at the destroyed skin, she grimaced. It would take months for her hand to heal. Turning her attention back to the mage, she glared ferociously at him. Yanking out her throwing knives, she flung three at him while coming at him from a different angle, hoping to catch him off guard.

As the two daggers began soaring at him, the mage's eyes widened. He did not expect this, though he was not caught completely off guard. Pivoting upon his right foot, he had placed it to where, if the dagger struck, it would hit his shoulder. Just after finishing this movement, he took two steps backwards, and the daggers flew past. Turning his head to face the woman once more, he lifted his hand just as before.

Instead of the flames, his hand turned blue tinted and the air around it began to greatly cool. An orb of ice began to slowly form in the palm of his hand, and with a thrust just as the fireball, the orb shot out. Upon impact, the orb would shatter, and cause any flesh, ground, or growth to freeze at least for a while.

Antigone's eyes widened as a ball of ice flew at her. Fear races through her as she is frozen stiff. "No!!!!" she screams. Struggling, she is shocked when she suddenly breaks free. Shaking, she suddenly thought of something. "Why are you doing this?!" she cried out to the mage. "Why did you attack me in the first place?"

"I need no reason to attack who I wish. At times my violence is boredom induced, other times it is anger relief. Truly it all depends on when you run into me. A few times I am willing to calmly converse with those I meet. Do you have a reason to be out here?" Arcaniss calmly spoke, his hand lowering to his spellbook, which he lifted up and began to look through. Not many things were within the pages of the powerful book, though it would soon fill up. Closing it once more, he returned it to its tight hold at his side.

Stretching slightly, he closed his eyes. Although the casting of fireball and such tore into his mind, drawing his energy, he was much calmer now that he had rested from the heavy casting he had done before. By now, he was sure he would be capable of safely casting a teleport spell without causing any damage.

"Ok, now I'm pissed off." Antigone said. "That's the stupidest reason for violence I've ever heard, and I've heard most of them." She started to walk away, but noticed a glimmer in the sand. Picking it up, she realized it was a sword, which gleamed with an greenish hue. Tapping the flat side of the blade, she yanked her hand back as it stung. "Poisoned," she thought. "Perfect." She turned back to face her opponent. "I just need to destroy that book of his and it'll be over," she thought. She ran a few of her throwing knives down the length of her new blade, soaking up the poison, then suddenly flung them at the mage. She sprung towards him, dancing from side to side, wary of any attack he could throw.

"Then I suppose, regrettably for you, you have not met many beings in your life time? Violence is everywhere, dear elf, do not hide behind your race's beliefs. You must either accept that rather pointless slaughter happens, or end up a part of it. It is up you, I care not. I am not actually attacking at a full, because I do not wish to be weakened when I kill you." Arcaniss spoke as the woman moved. At the end of his speech, her daggers were thrown, this time with poison apparent on them. Sighing quickly, the mage slid back and turned. Though he was not agile, she was still a distance from him, and thus he could still move just in time to escape the flying daggers.

As she came closer, he sighed yet again. A teleport this soon would be pointless, so he simply waited for her to go to one side, and begin to head back over before he lifted his staff just as before. With a quick, swift drop, the magical weapon struck the ground, and yet another fissure opened through the earth, the ground shaking just as madly as before. Taking a step back, he ensured he would not be affected at all as the opening began tearing threateningly forward.

As the mage began to lecture her, one part of what he said froze her. "Violence is everywhere, dear elf, do not hide behind your race's beliefs. You must either accept that rather pointless slaughter happens, or end up a part of it." She couldn't help it; she almost fell over laughing. "Don't... act like... you know anything... about me!" she choked out in between giggles. "You're just a stupid human! How would you know anything about me or my race!?" Antigone stood up. Laughing so hard had brought tears to her eyes. A rush of anger at how cocky this stupid creature was brought back all of her strength, but she kept her cool. "If I lose it here, I won't make it out of here alive," she thought. Taking her time, she began to walk in a wide circle around the mage, dragging her sword tip in the dirt, letting the poison soak in and spread towards the mage. Suddenly a fissure broke the earths surface, racing towards her. She rolled her eyes, having figured it out already. Walking a little faster, she felt it roll past her foot. She kept walking thinking. "As long as I stay out of the direct path of the fissures, they can't touch me. The mage can only release them. He can't control them. He can teleport, and by now he has the energy to do it again. He can throw fire and ice, but like the fissures, he can only give them one direction to head for. After that, their out of his control. This shouldn't be too hard unless he's got more up his sleeve." Antigone finished drawing her circle. "As long as i stay out of the circle and he stays in, the poison will effect him, slowly draining him. It's at such a low frequency once it gets to him, that it's all I can do."

((O_o how are you controlling the poison to run through the earth..? All your sword does is inject poison when the blade hits flesh…))

"Ahhh… That is where you are wrong, young elf. I am no mere human. I have just as much of an ability to last as long as you pointed eared beings, though I am much, much more intelligent. Compared to your race, I am superior in the mind, by far. Do not try and escape this, for it is the truth." Arcaniss grinned as the woman circled. Obviously this was an attempt to do something to him, and as she moved around him, he began to cast a spell. Just as she finished the circle, the mage vanished.

Reappearing just behind the woman, with no sound made at all, the mage held his palm just behind her skull. The only sign she would get would be the heating of the air behind her. As small flames began to dance, he thrust forward, aiming directly to blast on her head. Things were becoming too slow for him, and he had things to do, power to gain, and stuff to experiment. He was going to end this much faster than was first planned.

Antigone heard the crackle of heat behind her and twirled around, slicing at her foe with all of her might. Furious now, she just wanted to end this battle. Flames danced before her eyes, shooting straight for her face. She swung her sword up towards the mage's hands, smacking them away from her face. Rolling backwards away from the flames, she slices at the book at the mages waist.

As the sword came slashing towards him, the mage bent his body, leaning back, just barely escaping the sword from even cutting his loose robes. The flames in the palm of his hand, however, continued. However, the woman was quick, and slapped his hand down. The flames harmlessly crashed into the earth below.

A third attack came swinging towards his gut, which he dodged simply by stepping back out of the reach of her weapon. It was surprising that she was capable of what had just happened. Apparently, the mage misjudged her ability in battle. Looking at the sleeve of his arm, he noticed that he had just barely escaped being poisoned.

Antigone growled as she realized she missed poisoning the mage. Not only had she missed poisoning his blood, she also missed destroying his spell book. Swinging her sword, she attempted to detach the book from his waist. Changing direction suddenly, she twisted her wrist to slice up across his chest, cutting through his clothing.

Arcaniss took a few steps back, away from the swinging woman. Aiming his palm at her face, a fireball was launched yet again. Slowly his powers were being drained, and it did not feel good for the man. Thinking, he recalled that there was one spell he had learned recently… It would severely siphon his strength and power, though it would aid him greatly. Backing away more, he lifted his spellbook and prepared to cast the spell.

Reading through the pages, his hands began to grow a dark green and black mix. Shifting them slightly, mumbling words in draconic, the man lifted his hands to the sky. As he did so, something seemed to be growing in size as it appeared to be nearing the earth's ground. A loud burning, whistling sound could be heard as one large, flaming rock came speeding down towards the ground. Just a ways away from the two, it collided with the earth. As dirt, rocks, and dust was launched into the air, the sound of flames could be heard.

Once the dirt settled, a huge burning rock being could be seen in the center of a large crater, awaiting its master's commands. The flames on the thing were green, obviously demonic. As the mage focused entirely on keeping the large creature under control, he pointed to the elf and backed away more. Seeming to understand perfectly, the Infernal moved, lifting its amazingly powerful rock legs, and slamming them back down as it walked. Things were about to get rather interesting…

((If you do not understand what this creature looks like or is, here is an image reference for you.))

Antigone's eyes grew wide as something plummeted to crash into the earth. Dust blew into her eyes as the thing impacted with the dirt. As the dust settled, Antigone gasped at the demonic creature that stood before her. Watching the creature, she saw out of the corner of her vision that the mage was instructing it to come after her. And that he was having difficulty with it. She ran over to him as the creature walked toward her. "There's no way he can pull off a transportation spell while controlling that monster. And if he loses control, we're both doomed," she thought. "My only chance is to stay near him. That way, if I die, i take him down too."

As the elf charged forth, the mage backed away. The great beast he controlled continue its move towards the target it had been given. Small craters formed by the large creature's weight as it walked. Green flames danced and cracked before dieing away. One large rock fist came crashing down just slightly behind the woman, easily creating a deep dent in the earth it collided with.

"I do not think that would be wise, elf. You seem to have no arcane capabilities, and I have the power to teleport away. Another thing I have the power to do is dismiss this creature for another that does not need my attention, though can easily rip you in two." Arcaniss growled, backing away still. One attempt at escaping the control of the mage slammed into the man's mind, and his movements stopped, and his eyes shut. It would have been obvious something was happening to him. Knowing that the creature was trying to free itself, he stood still, and turned to the creature to keep all concentration on keeping it calm.

The powerful staff in his right hand, his left lifted and stayed in the air, open and palm towards the flaming rock. Any thoughts of the battle had left him, all that was left was the creature, and the 'chain' that held it. At that time, the leash was weakened, though within a few moments, it was strong once more, and the Infernal continued its slow march towards Antigone.
