Master of War
|
The battle raged on, oh how it raged. Fire and ice, blood and water, it all swirled together. Cries of blood lust and the sounds of battle roiled with the crashing of the ocean waves. There was no more rhyme or reason to it, the battle field atop the sea became a cacophony of sounds and emotions, of spells and blades. The goddess however, she heard none of this, there was only the roar of the magics surrounding her and the opponent before her. Golden eyes remained fixated on one thing, only one person mattered. It made sure that all knew this was truly a battle worth partaking in. After all, if it was enough to keep the goddess from being bored, it had to be good. She noticed ice swirling about her, but being a native to a land of blizzards and frost, she ignored it. After all, the ice would soon melt anyhow with this dragon around. The dragon could believe whatever he wished, he could call her anything in his mind but it would make no difference. Kioku was never prey. The two, they were simply two predators in the midst of a fight. A fight for territory a fight and a fight for freedom, a battle to see who was strongest and who would fall. Kioku may have been a most egotistical creature, but she was not so naive as to think that she would get out of this unscathed. The goddess of vengeance had no qualms against self injury, after all ... It wasn't as if she were a dog to imply put down. She would bite back, fiercely and most certainly. Predatory eyes watched, they watched on, as the dragon tried to sweep her off her feet. She hopped over the swiping tail, her heels hitting the deck just as the magical energies in the air shivered. It was a shudder, not form the cold of the tiger's magics, or the chill of the ocean waters, but they shivered from the very strengths of magic itself. Oh yes, this was great fun indeed. Thought the goddess, as she simply dug her heels against the cracked surface of the deck, her sword raised as a shield to catch the massive outburst upon her blade. The force of the heat singed the very wood from her feet, sending her skidding across the entire surface of the deck. A foot rose to kick a heel flat against the barrier that kept one from tumbling overboard, as sher blade blackened and melted. All at once there was a great crack and burst of fire, the dragon's attack causing even the ocean itself to steam and bubble up like a boiling kettle. The force was impressive, even to the goddess's standards, and abruptly she was flung off the side of the ship and into the raging waters below. And then, the goddess simply vanished beneath the waves. Unseen below the ocean's surface the wolf demon simply smiled to herself. The fang dragon had only provided her with a way of making another grand entrance. However for now she'd wait, as her voice reached out to pirate and demon alike. Fight on. The voice said. Fight on. |

It had been Kael intent force the immortal into the wave, freezing the wave at first contact imprisoning his prey inside. But in a cruel twist of fate the plan failed. The impact from the immortal through the lycan off balance, twisting in the air he managed to land on all fours, just in time to be hit in the side by his wave. Contact with the water discharge the spell he'd had prepared, freezing the wave before it could envelop him entirely, instead the waves frozen grip took hold of his right hind leg, as well of half that side. It from was here that Kael saw both the demonic creatures spilling from the rift attack his air born allies, followed shortly by the goddess being knocked clean into the ocean by Sujin. Thinking fast Kael made the best of each situation. Forgetting both his imprisonment and opponent, wave upon wave of thick mist and intense cold began emanating from the tiger. Land! Kael thoughts boomed over, what he hoped was, the still established mental link. Splitting his magic into two powerful strands, Kael channelled to his fullest. The first, began rolling out from the ships hull rapidly freezing that waters surrounding the ship before spreading out it's intent to trap, or at least delay, the goddess beneath. This strand only slowed when reaching the water near Sujin's flames, but as Kael was actively channelling that too froze in short order. As for the second strand, it placed it's icy grip on the airs above, where the winged beasts were fighting. Rapidly the mist began to rose, condensing as it went. In a matter of second heavy clouds had formed in the air and as the temperature rapidly dropped, so to did the clouds begin releasing a light snow. It would only take a few moments till this light snowfall would become a heavy blizzard. But the strain of maintaining both spells, at such strength consumed his focus. Any distractions could well cause a momentary loss of control, it's results unpredictable. |

A few things went through Serchan's mind in a matter of seconds, the first was that his oponant was trapt in his own spell. The second was that the Goddess was in the water, no big deal really. The third was that the almost unbearable heat was starting to get to the Immortal. The last and most important to Serchan was that his advasary seemed pre-occupied with casting yet another spell. Serchan decided to be somewhat nice and free his oponant. Pulling out his bow and speed aiming three arrows at once Serchan let them fly. Each one hitting above, to the right and to the left of the massive tiger, shattering the ice with the force of the explosions. The Immortal turned and aimed a few arrows at the sky, making sre they exploded on the dragonforged plating of Sujin's minions, hoping to cause a distraction. |

Phoenix with broken firewings, lost and alone in this dark land
|
With a quick twist, Lirial stepped from one side to another, missing the lance of ice, before dropping to her knees and rolling to the left, ducking underneath the stream of water the pirate threw at her. He certainly was a fiesty one, no doubts there. Well, she had seen too many cocky ones fall in battle, and too many rise to glory...this one she would have to deal with like every one else she had fought...carefully. Her roll ended with her landing on her feet, crouched low to the deck of the ship. The girl's eyes snapped and flared with fire as she watched the man carefully. With one quick movement, she snapped her fingers, a brilliant flash of light appearing in the sky, before she herself disappeared. She had teleported intot eh air above the ship, onto one of it's masts. With a warrior's cry, she let the fire in her blood rush to her skin, covering her entire body in flames. Wings sprouted form her back as she gave a maniacal laugh, before diving, headfirst, toward the deck and the man below. Unfurling her wings, they caught the air and snapped with a definate sound, holding her above the pirate momentarily. Se sliced down at him with her left sword, while bringing her right around in an outward arc, coming in toward her body. Liri's goal was to cleave the man's head in two. Thoughts flashed through her mind of her husband, and her children, what would happen to them if she failed, and perished here today...whatever fate had cast her was what she would get, and not even a god or goddess could stand in the way of fate...it controlled them all in ways inexplicable. |

Emperor of Flames
|
Sujin was totally consumed by his rage, the excitement of his battle with a goddess consuming him, almost to the point where his flames burned black. Teetering on the edge of complete primal madness the Fang clamped his massive jaws shut effectively stopping the tree trunk beam of heat energy to halt in its place, the goddess nowhere in site. Flames continuity leaking from his maw, the fang stood up once more, his arms outstretched just in front of him, his claws too aflame. Although completely mad, he was no fool and he knew that such a simple attack wouldn’t be the end of the goddess… where she was of course was the water, but the young immortal refused to go into the water by all means necessary. Instead the draconian took flight, his great wings unfolding and flapping once sending the burning warrior into the sky within a heartbeat. From his gaping maw, the dragon unleashed a barrage of molten fireballs, each of which easily 10 feet in diameter. Haphazardly and in random directions completely lost in his madness his target was pretty much anything that moved, Friend and Foe alike, Sujin unleashed his burning excitement in a torrent of fireballs which exploded upon impact, causing damage to any ship within range as well as blasting chunks of ice off the frozen surface that Kael had just created, which in turned sent splintered shards of ice and flame at random targets, impaling many or causing further damage to the ships. His focus turned to the enemies in the sky, demons of some sort from what his crimson eyes could see. Again that tree trunk of heat energy blasted from his maw, the recoil causing the dragon to crash into one of the other ships. His scaled neck swiveled back and forth, sweeping across the small army of demons in the sky. If and when the beam did miss, it caused the clouds in the sky to instantly darken and funnel around it. The intense heat and cool energies bursting from Kael and Sujin caused the sky itself to grow angry, sending rain and lightning bolts over the area of the battle, deadly winds picking up threatening to push even the most experienced sea worthy man off their fabled footing upon the boats which rocked back and forth in the quickly growing unstable waters below. |

Master of War
|
How cold the ocean waters where, their chill growing stronger at the dull throb of magic being thrown about. Of course, the goddess wasn't worried, she was content to laze about under the ocean for awhile. Secretly she had done it to take stock of her injuries. And though her face burned she could only give a cracked grin at the fact that someone had hurt her. How long it had been since she had received such a blow. The goddess missed it, finding acceptable opponents Her fights as of late had only been limited to the testing of followers. And while there were those who had proved entertaining, there were none who provided challenge. And Kioku so loved a good fight. She heard a cry above the roar of the ocean waves. Land it said. Ah what amusement this war had brought her. A fight of fire and ice, it was poetic really. Not that the goddess cared for such trivial things as the words of love sick men. The goddess had never read a poem in her life, if she even knew such things existed. But on to more important things. As the goddess of vengeance and retribution contented herself with planning a more theatric entrance, one to be remembered in the minds of her enemies and one to stir her own armies onward. Inspiration, now that was what the goddess sought. Anyways, as she did this, there were events above the seas that required further attention. One such event was the battle being held by some lady firebug and the young pirate captain. His spells might have been all too easily dodged, but he hadn't really wanted to kill his opponent so quickly. After all, he was a pirate, and pirates loved a good fight. He heard her cry as she reappeared above him, and being no fool Caine brought one of his swords up to stave off whatever attack she had to throw at him. Regardless of what she might think, fire was often put out by water. Even though ice might be melted, it turned into water, which would drown her anyways. Caine was quite certain that he had this one in the bag, as they say. With his sword raised to catch the woman's blade his other hand came around to unleash a torrent of water practically in her face. Dodge that, he thought. Hearing the commotion from above, Kioku decided that the time for her little game was over. The flame dragon was sure to ruin her entrance if she waited anymore. And so she gave a sigh, shaking her head with a little smirk before vanishing from the dark ocean depths and landing atop her ship. A trail of water and shards of ice fell all around her as she glanced up towards the sky. The goddess grinned, her expression quite macabre, not for her dark grin but for the condition that the massive pillar of flame has left upon her. Half the goddess's face was not charred by the massive wave of heat, but shred entirely. Bone and blood were all that was left from the right eye down to the chin. But the goddess, being the goddess gave no sign of pain or suffering. No, she was numb to any such mortal sensation. And she laughed, her gaze drawn to the chaos up ahead. "Hm. I should have taken this battle to sea much sooner." It was entertaining, the dragon's loss of control. But this was not time for any mocking gestures, as the goddess swept back a bloodied lock. It was time to join them, as the wings she had not summoned in so long sliced through her back, sending blood amongst the deck to even rival against the pools spilt by battling pirates and berserkers. Even as she gave her new wings a brief stretch their color remain, blood remained dripping from them and the goddess cared not the least as she took flight. It was only seconds before she had reached the highest heights, looking down on the crazed dragon who shot flames to the heavens. "Sujin, lets have some more fun, shall we?" She grinned, fangs sparking alongside bone, blood staining what once was white and more of it fell to the fight below. Like so many things today, it was swallowed up by the sea. |

Phoenix with broken firewings, lost and alone in this dark land
|
Her sword was blocked, no surprise to the girl…not at all. What kind of a pirate would he be if he couldn’t block a simple move like that? She let her blade flick past his, steel meeting steel with a resounding hiss. No sooner had her sword swept past, then a stream of water was shot at her face. Since she was already flaming, it mattered little, but to serve as a distraction. The girl let her flames rage harder for a moment, before letting them simmer down, the water and fire creating steam in her face. True, she couldn’t see so well with it like that, but she adjusted quickly. With a cry of rage, the half-breed snapped back, landing on the deck, her feet hitting the ground hard. Blood was staining the wooden deck of the ship, causing some difficulty in keeping upright. With a smirk, water dripping off her leather clothes, she stood up straight, steam rising from around her body. The water around her was reacting to the flames inside her, and she added to it by going elemental once more. The steam hid her from the pirate’s prying eyes, and with another fluid movement, the girl changed form. Slinking in and out of the steam, she appeared here and there as another pirate, the goddess herself, the firedancer, and the pirate she fought. It was all just a ruses to confuse him, but it could only last for so long, and her distraction was fading. With one last maneuver, she turned back into herself, appeared right next to Caine, the sword in her right hand slicing over her left shoulder, coming back down in an attempt to hack the pirate’s head form his shoulders, right to left. As she sliced at him, Lirial unleashed hell. Her entire body erupted in flames, the very air around her being consumed in the fire. The burn radius would stretch from one side of the ship to the other, if she wasn’t careful, and at the moment, careful she was not. She intended to kill whatever she could on this miserable ship. Her troops had been warned, and were thus prepared for an attack like she had planned, and wore protective armor accordingly…at least, protective from her flames. |

Serchan wanted nothing more to do with the tigre he had been fighting, he wanted a fight more fast-paced. The Immortal took to the skies and locked onto the first Dragon rider he saw. The Rider was flying low and Serchan wanted a ground fight, Bastard's Retribution came around, the flat edge catching the Rider in the chest. This move not only winded his oponant but it knocked him off the dragon. The Rider hit the deck of a ship and was instantly back on his feet. The Immortal dove down to meet him screaming as he did so. The Rider's head snapped up as he heard Serchan's cry. The Reaper landed lightly on the deck of the ship and waited for the Rider charged, dragonforged armor glinting in the light. Serchan brought the bastard sword up to block the sword, not as easy as he expected. The Rider faked an overhead slash and brought it level with the Reaper's chest. It slashed accross the Blood and left a scratch on the surface, Serchan had stepped back. The Immortal brought his fist around and connected with the man's face. The Reaper reached around and pulled out a dagger, it came slashing in an arc that brought it to the Rider's sword hand. As the dragonforged blade clattered to the deck of the ship Serchan brought Bastard's Retribution up, cleaving the Rider in two, starting at the groin. The Reaper turned and looked for another target. |

Good fights where always a good thing, and when in combat that was easily one of the things Sujin will never disappoint on, no matter who the opponent is. He has proven his metal against God Cod, who compared to even the youngest goddess whom he was fighting against now the power difference, could be seen. But the point is, and has been and probably will always be is that Sujin will never disappoint when thrust into combat and he would continue to prove that even though he hasn’t “ascended” like most, he can easily hold his own against those that walk in the divine light… or darkness… what ever they wanted to call it. Quickly the tide of battle began to shift again in Vakati Di Dian’s favor once more, at least placing them back on even ground. The threat in the sky was demolished in a torrent of stormy winds and black clouds plus the rage of flames and the bone chilling ice. Sujin’s draconic wings flapped a few more times keeping him afloat as his mind began to return from its darker places, his berserk rage slowly dieing down as the Fang began to take the situation in as a whole. Kioku was no where in sight but Sujin could feel her… he could smell her. On the boats and the ice which surrounded them raged war of cutlasses against dragon forged blades. Roars of men and women who fought for ether side and refused to give ground to ether, at this rate this battle would end in both sides with massive losses. Sujin himself wanted to keep going, he could tell from the fighting that both ally and enemy alike also wanted to keep fighting, to keep cutting and chopping, impaling and destroying any who stand against them. A grin full of teeth and leaking flames spread across scaled lips, he respected these people these men and women whom fought for their own causes, and be it for those who wait at home or because of simple bloodlust they fought unwaveringly for their ideals and beliefs. It was then however that the Goddess again decided to make an appearance before Sujin. On wings soaked in blood the goddess floated upwards half of her face missing from the pillar of flame Sujin unleashed upon her only moments ago. Her statement caused Sujin to laugh as he nodded his head in agreement, crossing his arms over his chest as his wings flapped once more keeping the draconian afloat. “Aye! More fun indeed… and damn I’d almost say you look quite sexy now.” Sujin answered uncrossing his claws once more as they sparked up in flame. Those same flames leaked from Sujin’s closed maw, he took a battle stance awaiting for the upcoming Arial battle. |

The lad could not help but laugh, a soft chuckle beneath his breath. Shapeshifting, ruses indeed. Caine was not so easily tricked. He was a pirate, trickery and deceit was in his nature. And besides, he was in the army of a lady far more wrathful and dangerous than the fire slinging woman before him. As such Caine only brought his sword about, lightly it rested before him as he awaited the lady to finish playing her little game. "C'mon c'mon lass we ain't getting any younger." Fire or no, the opposing soldiers aboard this ship were far from being the only ones under another's protection. Man and demon alike aboard vengeance's fleet were under the protection of goddess and water guardian, their strength renewed and their raging hearts fighting harder than other. Some were slain, but they were far from being outnumbered by the enemy, they killed just as many on their own with blade and spell. Caine was not worried about his fellows however. Truth be told he held no love for any of them. They were all simply pirates and allies, but he held no ties of friendship with them. It was better that way, what with the life they lived and all. Too was it better on account that it didn't allow him to be distracted, he could fight as he pleased and not give one lick of care to anyone but himself. Finally the woman attacked again, covered in flame and her sword raised high. Caine only brought both swords up, steam rising up about them as the frost sword let out a shot of ice. It frosted on the breath for only a moment before melting and soaking their blades, the deck at their feet, and shirts alike. "Ohh such a feisty missy I've gained as an opponent." He smiled even amongst the fire summoned up by the woman, pressing both blades crossed at the hilt against the woman';s sword and shoving her back. Kioku smiled in response to the noble turned draconian. "Haha, you don't say." A hand rose, the heavy longsword appearing within an awaiting palm. The other hand simply swept back the lock of bloodstained hair from the bloodied remains of her cheek. But the goddess smiled still, her grin full of blood and fang even amongst the torrent of rainfall that had appeared. It was with that a bolt of lighting flashed amongst the arial forces and the goddess found it as theatric an assault as any. Oh yes, this was a battle to be remembered for a long while to come. "Now its finally getting good. I was afraid I'd be disappointed for a few moments there." Caring not about the dragon's fire the goddess struck swift and hard, as much so as the lighting that had followed in her wake. But she wielded nothing but the sword, her hand bringing it about to slash across the fang dragon's grinning maw. |

“Oh yea, that full toothed smile of yours is enough to darken my day pretty lady.” Sujin answered, remembering a day when he probably would have truly thought Kioku was beautiful. For more reasons than one, he too once burned with the flame of vengeance. He knew just how intense that flame is… just how pleasurable and yet miserable something like that could be. Today was different though, the only thing that drove this dragon’s existence now was itself. He lived because he wanted to, and nobody, not a god, not another dragon or even a mortal would take that away from him. But even so… vengeance has always been tempting… and every time he visits his mother’s grave that flame sparks to life once again. A blade appeared in her grip, Sujin smiled again as only a draconian could smile. Fangs bared in both delight and a challenge to the goddess. She charged words that meant she had underestimated Sujin and his people. It made the dragon burn with excitement, to think that she someone whom didn’t know Sujin from Adam finally understood that she didn’t have to exactly hold back against him. Yea he knew of the Gods greatest power, and he didn’t fear it knowing that it could easily make it so that Sujin never existed in the first place. But being the blockhead hardcore warrior that he was… the excitement of fighting someone that had such a weapon at their finger tips was enough to make his sword look limp compared to a different weapon of choice. The blade came, cutting through the downpour of rain as the storm began to grow intense. The only thing saving the boats from the massive waves would be the ice Kael laid down only moments ago. Maw opened wide and clamped down on the blade Kioku offered to him, slowing the swing to a halt with the help of his weight and massive wings. Fangs locked onto the steel Sujin countered, unleashing a uncountable number of fireballs from both claws aimed directly for her midsection. |

))Hmm... Not sure yet what to do about Sujin having left. But feel free to post if you still wish. Also, dead muse = short post. xD(( If only it were so easy to still the blade of the deity. The goddess was not worried about his fire and fangs, indeed she made no move to escape the assault of flame upon her person. Rather she pressed her blade further, a fine mist seeping from her person. Frost on her breath and ice rolling across her blade now she only watched with her now one good eye as she vanished the draconian's fire completely. No master of ice could hope to achieve such power, no master of fire could hope to escape it. But it was not a spell to destroy, rather only sending fire away t avoid further marring of her own flesh. Her face was half torn, and theatric as it was she wouldn't want things to go overboard. Aye, the goddess must remain still recognizable to her men of weaker faith. Pirates were suspicious, to lose herself amongst flame would indeed put things awry. Her free hand took a different path, as she brought it around swift and full of flesh and bone, power surging through her, taken from the sky itself, as her wings folded and she gave a great push to the scaled warrior. She'd knock him from the sky, that she would. |
