Waters boiled 'cross bow and stern alike, the seas rolled ferociously and unceasing, even with no hint of storm on the sky. A sailor's worst nightmare, of that there was no doubt. And this was not counting the creatures unseen far within the ocean depths. The entire state of things would be enough to send the stoutest navy man huddled within the safest corner they could possibly find. They wouldn't be the only one, either. Of course these were no ordinary ships, there was no simple man amongst sail and rope. An armada by all accounts, massive ships loaded with demons and pirates, mercenaries and undead sailors. And let us not forget the weaponry held aboard, the most advanced ranged armaments of the day and even a spell or two would be enacted against all opposition.

The goddess herself stood upon the ship, The Queen Anne's Revenge, a name she cared nothing about. But the seas, they roared, a herald before the armada rising above the horizon. Though what opposition Vengeance's Armada was to meet, had yet to be seen. Whatever it may be, navy or passing sailors, the goddess was sure it would be of no difficulty to handle. her crew were of demons and pirate alike, all men who's lives were the sea and could fight fiercer than any king's navy or mercenary force could battle. Whoever it was she could see them on the horizon, she gave a casual wave to her forces, indicating that it was time to prepare themselves. And so they did. Vengeance's armada was ready.

War, a game of tag where the ultimate price was ones life… and when victory meant you stand above all others on a mountain of corpses that could topple even the great Mt. Avalonius. This goddess, this women that goes by the name of Kioku had decided to bring the fight to him, to his people. In all places but his own back yard?! How arrogant was that? But it didn’t matter… for Sujin snuffed out any thought of resistance that day, for it was that day he destroyed the warboss tundra, sending him packing as well as reeking havoc on what ever combined green skin tribes where left.

The massive crimson Dragon flew high in the sky, his personal unit, the Dreadnaught Battalion as well as the HellFyre Squad. A small army but for what information they had gathered, it would be enough. 11 dragon’s soaring in the sky, 10 of which much smaller than Sujin himself and wielding an assortment of elements. Armored to the teeth with both their natural scales and dragon forged adamantine, on the smaller dragons backs rode one person, their rider and partner for the rest of their natural lives, Sujin leading the pack his massive wings flapping only once every 10 or so miles as Dreadnaught sat comfortably on his back, just below his head and between the massive crimson wings.

On the horizon, just in range of the dragon lords range of site, 13 ships float above the water, and with that site Sujin could feel the power of the goddess and he hungered to test it. The dragon’s quickly flew high into the sky behind the cover of clouds. “Alright… There is no plan, and there is no going back. I’ll speak to the goddess once, and only once. If she refuses, then we will bring forever dusk to this fleet of hers and anything else she wants to send our way!” The strike force screamed and roared in unison, the voices of men and women, dragons and dragonesses becoming one and in a brief moment from that cloud cover rained down the scaled beasts of legend.

The 10 smaller dragons began circling the fleet, not making any threatening moves not giving ground nor gaining any, keeping a fixed distance away from each ship while following their steady floating motion. From the back of Sujin sprang forth his unit, 5 landing on each ship while there were six on the flag ship which obviously held Kioku. As soon as each warrior had left the massive dragon’s back, Sujin quickly shifted forms, landing on the flag ship with a soft thud. Each warrior did not attack but held weapons at the ready and would strike at a moment’s notice of hostility. Mountain people they where, but in the past few months each of them has received special training on behalf of Istelle to fight on shifting ground, to move with the rocking of the boats as if it where natural to them, barbarian pirates.

“Nice to finally meet cha Kioku” Sujin spoke standing just in front of the 5 warriors that accompanied him. “The name’s Sujin. I doubt you know who I am being some high and mighty goddess or whatever. But that’s not the point. Seeing as you are an all powerful god or whatever, maybe you know why I stand before you now? Well at least without attacking.” Sujin cocked his head to the side, his right hand placed on the handle of Infurnus as it rested at his side, point in the wood and the pommel to the sky.

Sharp golden eyes pierced through the cloud cover The weather was adequate, the sea was eager to swallow the dead or living too, and her forces were ready. What else could she possibly need? Ah yes, opposition. And it came soon enough, her gaze to the sky she could see those shapes on the horizon. Quite unexpected indeed, she had not heard any stirrings from the Avalonian nobles in quite some time. Her crew did not see it yet, but a select few felt the sense of battle on the air. People would die today, of this Kioku was certain. As her gaze remained skyward the thud of boots against wood strode up to meet her. It was the former admiral's first mate, a young half demon named Caine. He had done well in taking over the fleet at the captain's disappearance. Kioku found him to be worthy for the cause and so she let him keep control of her armada. The lad spoke quickly, young though he was he had served under the water guardian and had been taught well. Everyone was ready, he would stay by her side while his own man of choice manned the ship. The boy Caine had some abilities that the goddess fund useful, and so she had given him his orders and made sure he listened well.

Then, from the sky, those dark shapes grew ever closer, they quickly made themselves out to be dragons. Armed to the teeth they were, with their armor and riders. There was a mutter amongst the crews, weapons drawn at the increased closeness of the creatures. The ships rocked as the heavy beasts landed upon the decks, and men were quick to go to arms. But the goddess raised a hand, staving them off. The crew on other ships followed, just as soon as their own signs to await orders had been received. None would attack until the goddess said so.

Kioku watched in the predatory analytical gaze she always held as a dragon turned man and landed upon her ship. Finally, the Preah noble Sujin had come to meet her. Kioku had for a brief moment, wondered if he ever would. "Oh, I know who you are. Though I more expected you to stay hidden away in your little mountain town than to come out to sea of all places."

Sujin could feel the thirst for blood Kioku’s men had. He could also feel their uneasiness, it didn’t surprise him. Most men, even those that are immortal felt a slight uneasiness when around dragons. It was a natural order of things, beings as old as time itself and here they were in mass quantities. True enough Sujin did come here armed and ready for battle, his one true weapon Infurnus in his grasp as they speak, his warriors, the strongest of any of the Dian Tribe, each of which themselves armed with dragon forged weaponry and armor. The Fang did not come to fight, but he would mow down any that stood against him, and true enough he had a feeling Kioku would stand against him.

“Oh ya do know who I am? Heh I figured you didn’t care and was just lashing out at random folk that was noble.” Sujin started, yawning in the process as his legs began to get use to the steady rocking of the boat, his frame moving with the slow motion of the sea vessel. Instinct was his most powerful weapon in his entire arsenal, it was the thing that allowed him to adapt to a situation no matter how trivial it was and come out on top. Proven case being the gentle rocking of the boat, Sujin stood now as if he had been a sailor his entire life, yet Sujin has but once set foot on a boat, and when he did it was many years ago.

“Anyway, if you know who I am then ya know what I’m capable of. But that’s all beside the point. I ant come outta my valley with my people because I don’t give a rats ass what you do with Avalon. Burn it to the ground for all I care, rape the women, murder the men, and sell the kids off to slavery. None of it matters because I don’t care if your some evil goddess bent on destruction which I doubt, ya just don’t look like that type. Or just out for a bit of fun. But what does matter, are my mountains, my city and my people. I came out here to letcha know, which you probably already do know is that I smashed that orc ya sent and devoured his people in flames.” Sujin’s voice shifted from a playful carefree tone which he normally always spoke in. Into something more serious, darker, and powerful, the tell tell sign that said Sujin had cast away anything that would resemble restraint or even care.

“So… I’m gonna say this once goddess. Leave me, my mountains, my city and my people alone… and you can have Avalon, I won’t do a damn thing to stop you… not hold up people in my city, not go to anybodies aid, nothing. However, if you decided against it and attack me anyway… I’ll show you just how hot flames can burn… Goddess.” Sujin’s crystal blue eyes shined with a dark light that resembled the primal instinct to kill, to destroy, and to devour. People forgot that Sujin was no human, he was the will of the flame and a dragon before that… he would devour anything that dare attempt to stand in his way… and this Goddess was no different.

She grinned, this goddess had no restraint whatsoever and she had no need to hide the fact that yes, she was amused. "You don't care ... if the land is destroyed." She pondered this, if one less stood in her way it made things all the easier for her. On the other hand, he could always be playing a game of deceit and could later in some way, attempt to fight against her. He did not seem the type though, but the goddess knew better than to take anything at face value. She herself was an apt example of not judging a book by its cover. Kioku ignored the muted mutterings of the crew at her back. As uncertain as they were about these creatures, they too longed for battle. It was what they were made for, after all. Far be it from her to disappoint.

Her smile fading for the moment as she took in a breath of the salt air, Kioku drew the heavy blade from her back and settled it in front of her only to lean upon it. "There has only been lashing out at those who stand in my way. Not my fault that it was nobility who happened to stand in my way. And you say you are unlike any of them? What guarantees do I have that you don't have something planned in store for me later on down the road." It was truly difficult to tell, if she was talking to herself in musings or really asking such questions of him.

"None." The goddess answered her own question, but her tone was light considering the meaning behind her words and she did not honestly seem worried about any such things. Of course, Kioku could take on anything and anyone it mattered not who or what. Even before her words had finished an echo across the air she had moved, swiftly to the Preah Noble's side. Her blade left the wood of the deck not even sending a splinter flying as she, as he said, lashed out at random nobles. "Let's test your theory of fire and flame." Of course she was going to fight. It wouldn't be war if she didn't.

She didn’t know a thing, nothing. She thought she knew who Sujin was but she didn’t know the first thing about him. Branded as some noble, and a powerful one at that, the Fang was both honored and disgusted by the comparison. True enough, if he wanted to he did have the strength to oppose this goddess and her plans for fun. But the thing was… Sujin truly did not care. The men and women of Avalon shun him and his people, shun the people that has gathered behind the Preah Walls, shunned the people that fly beneath the Dian banner. Sujin sighed, that lightheartedness returning if only for a second.

Her blade was drawn, as she leaned against it speaking her mind. Sujin’s eyes followed her sword, not her lips. He knew already, his warriors knew… in truth, everyone knew that the offer for some sort of peace had gone out the window. The moment she drew her sword was the moment what hope Sujin had not to fight here shattered. Dreadnaught stood fast, the crystal blue eyes of the Fang watched onwards, and within an instant Kioku disappeared. Sujin did not move, his body did not flinch until the last possible second. And in that second time seemed to stop, the area around them dipped in eerie stillness.

Then all hell broke loose, Kioku appeared next to Sujin her sword striking his side as the fang held his armored hand up and forward stopping the sword mid swing. Infurnus however stayed in his right hand, his hand still gripping the handle yet showing no movement. Sujin’s voice went primal again as he eyed the goddess. “Berserk.” The words left his lips in a whisper but it was enough to send the 5 men behind him into a frenzy. Roars of a beast like nature escaped their lips, weapons of all types raised into the air as the men dashed forward eyes white with fury as they began to hack, bash, and tear their way into the enemy.

Sujin pushed Kioku’s sword away from his frame and took a few steps back Infurnus hefted upwards and back, locking onto the dragon with some unknown power. On his right hand the ancient rune of flame appeared, pulsing in sync with his heart. From it burst a sword of pure flame, so hot that just for the sword to be near the wood of the ship it scorched and turned to ash, the air about him heating up nearly instantly. Soul Flame would be used for now… until of course the goddess decided to get serious and not toy with him as if he where some mere mortal. The Dragon’s above however did not attack, did not move even with the obvious chaos as the plan had gone wrong. They would not act until Sujin gave the order. Counter when attacked but they wouldn’t strike the first blow.

As if he was any different. Oh, she had heard tales of the nobles strength and his fiery heart. She knew of those who had been defeated by him. But he was no deity. Kioku knew how great her own power was and she knew that no other could compared to her. Especially a mortal, for that was what all who were not god or goddess were. Mere mortal still, regardless of their race or capabilities. Kioku seemed to have a motto, well several of them, but one of which definitely went along the lines of 'if you're not with me you're against me.' It did not matter what one said, the goddess was a stubborn one; with not want nor will for that to change.

To say that she was surprised he could avoid her blade so easily, would have been a lie. Kioku did not doubt this man's strength, but it was nothing compared to her own. He had obviously won many a battle; Kioku decided it was up to her to bring him down a notch or two. And though she was well aware of the frenzied attack that had been set forth the Goddess knew her men had their orders and they would attend to them. Of course, pirates they be, and so they had no fear of the berserked attackers and most took the ensuing battle with wry grins and racing hearts. A grand day for a battle at sea indeed.

The young demon Caine, that she had been speaking too previously, was long gone by now. but it was not fear that drove him, only the fact that he too had a job to do and so he set off to get that job done. Kioku only rose her gaze up to meet that of the barbarian dragon's, her predatory gaze challenging, of course. She stepped back as he moved to push her away, her sword only moving to rest casually by her side as he summoned up one of his own. Fire, it was no big deal to her. And as for ships burning down, it would only take a snap of the fingers to renew the scorched wooden bow. "Are you to strike me down, random noble?" She showed off that wolfish fang of hers again, obviously the goddess was quite ready to enjoy herself. The battle raged all around, but she was quite content to wait and see if the Preah noble had any tricks up his sleeve.

So what if he wasn’t a god, Sujin didn’t care and probably would never care. The man didn’t have the mentality to be a god… gods where lazy and self centered. Sujin cared too much for people that had the will to be strong and survive. He couldn’t just sit high up in the “heavens” and watch from above. No, he had to be in the mix, where his arm could reach the man he needed to help. Don’t get things twisted; he was no do gooder, some paladin that helped anybody that needed it. No, Sujin was the type of man that lead by example… he put himself out there to be a goal of which everyone was to surpass he would settle for nothing less.

Pirates, strong men of the sea and Sujin respected them. Hell he wanted to clash blades with them himself, but would leave the task up to the warriors he had brought with him. They would have the honor of squaring off against those the dogs of the sea while Sujin retained the honor of challenging the goddess that led these dogs. Soul Flame stayed at his side and rose in the air slowly, the burning sword pointing just off to his right almost parallel with the ships floor. The fight would be serious, and there would be no room for error, no room to warm up. He truly did not care if he won or lost, the entire fang wanted to do was prove his point. What was his point? That he was nothing to be toyed with, and his word was law.

Her challenge would not be ignored… it was the way of the wild, if one was challenged the other would have no choice but to face them. Not like any beast worth their salt would turn down a challenge anyway. “I told you, I don’t give a damn about Avalon, but cha wanna go and take everything for yaself. So yea imam strike ya down. Stubborn like my damn wife, just can’t listen to anything.” It was true. Sujin made no moves against her; he knew she had known that. Truth be told, Sujin would have burned Avalon to the ground sooner or later anyway… Kioku had just beaten him to it.

The temperature began to rise once again, the air around Sujin began to sparkle, the effects of the water that contained salt evaporating and the salt being left behind. Left foot slid forward and in an instant, Sujin’s frame blurred from vision only to appear moments later square in front of Kioku deep within her guard, so deep that he was out of sword strike range. From his back swiftly came a dagger as its silver edge sped upwards aiming for the goddess’ middle, He would gut the wolf where she stood.

Self centered, yes, decidedly so. But lazy? The goddess may have spent her earlier deityhood stationed solely within her temple, but she was not lazy, or rather, it was not in her nature to be. The childhood that no one knew was a nomadic one, with plenty of work to do and no time for lazing about. Her travels that led her to Avalon and led her to becoming goddess had been the result of only her own hard work and determination. If anything else, despite her ego, Kioku was a rather jaded deity. While there seemed no end of challengers, there had been no challenge in a very long time. This coupled with an outstanding ego made the goddess fall into an ever present way of thinking that meant she had no equal, and every single living (or dead for that matter) thing was so very far below her.

Ah, but a wolf heading a pack of dogs, she'd rather like the sound of that, for some obscure reason no doubt. But it was the dogs that fought just as fiercely as any other man on the battlefield, and so they would go unnoticed for the moment as the goddess dealt with her own prey. For, of course, anything that she hunted whether it be by blade or spell, was indeed prey to her. "Well. You can try." Oh yes, that was all anyone could do, try. Kioku's sight easily surpassed that of mortal standards, why, she could see far into other realms if she so desired. Or at the very least, she'd say she could, seeing as how she'd never really tested the theory. Regardless, there was no attack that anyone had ever dealt that went unnoticed by her vision. Even as his hand went to another weapon, the goddess was not one to be taken by surprise so easily. If she had been the type to be so simply caught off guard, then she would not have been Lady Vengeance in the first place.

She stepped forward to meet this strike, her own blade lifting quickly upwards. By the time the fang hybrid had arrived at her front, her own blade was held high, the hilt near enough to break a man's nose if he came in jut a little closer. But then there was that dagger, so how could a woman evade at so close a range? Well, any ordinary woman would not be able, and though she was certainly an extraordinary manner of being the goddess neither evaded the strike. The noble berserker wished to gut the wolf? Well she would give him ample opportunity. After all, it had never been said that the goddess was afraid of blood nor pain, if she even felt it at all she'd never revealed. As all things a battle was a game of cat and mouse with her. And she always made sure that the game was an enjoyable one. "How easy do you think it will be?" She stepped closer still, uncaring, definitely not worried about the path the barbarian's dagger might take.

True enough, try was all he could do. But in battle there was one thing that was absolute. There was no winner no loser… but one could overcome something, one could stand above someone else even if only for a brief moment. Sujin didn’t care if he won or lost a fight, for as stated fights are not won or lost. A fight is a clash of more than just blades, magic, and experience, it was more than skill, tactics, and cunning. A fight was a clash of ideals, of wants and needs, of things the person wielding the steel wanted to preserve, keep strong. What was Sujin’s ideal? His people, Sujin wished to bring even a small ounce of peace to the people that fly under his wings, the people that have fought, shed blood, sweat and tears for their beliefs. Sujin believed in them just as much as they believed in he, and it was this bond that he fought for.

SelDian shot upwards; he knew it wouldn’t be this easy. It made the dragon stop mid swing and fade away from just in front of her. The dagger was again placed back in the sheath on his left leg just beneath the tattered sash he wore. It made Sujin sighs… he was truly disappointed by this already, and with disappointment came boredom. With boredom came a lack of power which was driven by Sujin’s emotions. “Oh come now Kioku, Don’t be such a party pooper. I don’t care how hard or how easy this is gonna be, hell just make it fun for me! I’ll promise to make you break a sweat at least.” Sujin answered back obviously bored and rather dismissive. It annoyed him that she didn’t take him seriously… true enough he didnt think the attack would suprise her in anyway, but an attack was an attack. A fight was never won or decided on the first move... besides, the first move is always to get things warmed up. There was no large difference between their strength. True she is a god, and true she has some divine powers or what have you… but Sujin was no slouch.

“I mean. What happened to that little challenge you presented me. Aren’t we here to find out just who is the top predator?” Sujin asked his voice sharp and cold. Sujin was not trying to intimidate her nor call her out, he just wanted to know what happened to that fire he saw moments before. She was contradicting herself, by challenging Sujin with the gaze just moments before Sujin attacked yet shows no want for a fight. Boring and Sujin had begun to reshape the image he had of the she-wolf. True arrogant she may be, but the dragon respected her for the simple fact that she did something he wouldn’t, his loyalties to others wouldn’t allow him to do so. She was going to take Avalon for her own, and for no other reason than because it was “fun” not because she was evil, nor some hell-bent dictator just because it was “fun.”

She stepped back. Ah well, he wouldn't play her game. it didn't matter, she had still learned something further about the man. not that she actually cared to learn anything. With a shrug to prove that she was completely apathetic about the dismissal of her so called game, she only brought her sword around again. "Ah ell, far be it from me to disappoint." A hand rose as she idly flicked her thumb against one gleaming fang. Yes, Kioku was a creature of contradiction, and she wouldn't have it any other way. Being volatile, contradicting, gong against all that was expected of her was fun. The only greater joy she had found was in the midst of battle. The goddess stepped away from the dragon, her back turning towards him as one ear gave a twitch. Her pose suggested that she was in consideration of something, even as her gaze drifted across the fighting pirates and barbarians. The scent of blood already mingled with the salt of the air.

Abruptly she turned, her hand falling from the tip of her fang only to bring forth a nice little spell of her own. A blizzard upon the open sea it was, with wind and ice to cut through flesh just as fiercely as any sword, and a chill that caused the deck to become slick under foot. Of course, all this was aimed to the dragon who had taken it upon himself to challenge her. Kioku was ready to have some fun now, even as she vanished within her own storm, her blade more than eager to draw first blood. Not, that she expected the battle to be over so swiftly. The battle would be fun though, at the very least.

Finally it seemed as if she wanted to get serious. And serious the goddess did get. Her sword came around in nether a guard or attack like fashion, something Sujin did often so he recognized the stance immediately. She was planning something but what she was planning was unknown to Sujin. Out of pure instinct, heat energy began to grow and concentrate in his right hand, causing Soul Flame to hum and crackle as the wooden planks beneath the burning sword turned to ash and was carried off by the sea breeze in moments. Sujin’s footing squared and the burning blade that devoured the air about it, its organic looking handle and hilt brought to bear just in front of Sujin.

The young felt a spike of magic similar to his loves, and just as quickly an icy chill swept over the ship at blistering speeds. Instantly Sujin reacted by releasing the built up energy that Soul Flame was steadily collecting. Counteracting the Blizzard with an intense heat shockwave which crescent out from the burning sword itself caused a thick pasty fog to envelop the ships rather quickly, Sujin kept his footing squared as Soul Flame dissipated, the dragon’s animal instincts kicking in as the fog thickened once more with a second increase of heat… only this heat came from the immortals draconic form.

On all fours the beast got, his molten eyes scanning the area as his wings un-tucked themselves and the draconian floated just inches off the floor with minimal flapping. Orders had begun to be issued to the dragons that had been circling the fleet overhead. Sujin figured the goddess would do something like this and so he had planned ahead. Dragons of the elements ice and flame began to continuously pour their energies on the nearby ships causing the fog to grow even thicker by the moment so much in fact that it slowly began to get nearly impossible to see just ahead of you. Dreadnaught then began to withdraw, landing on icy patches near the boats which another dragon had provided.

It would not be the first time that someone had used heat to counteract her spell and cause a heavy fog to drift about the area. And she was not worried when the entire ocean seemed filled with fog at this point. Her crew knew how to react accordingly, and react they did. The demons fought on, they were born from the sea, made for the sea, and so they were not to lose their bearings so easily. cries rang out across the sea as every man fought, or every man controlled their ships and stood at their posts. Cries of encouragement and rage, men died and bled but more stood to replace them. Either side had casualties but neither seemed to move an inch, they just kept fighting and fighting.

Even as her spell faded and the fog remained the goddess heard the crack of bone and the shifting of tissue, a spot of shapeshifting seemed to be at work. As her gaze pierced through the fog she saw that her noble opponent had taken a much more animalistic form. How amusing, now she had a draconian to fight. This would prove to be great fun indeed. Of course the goddess had no need to alter forms, she was powerful just as she was. She brought her sword around then, her opposite hand crackling with magical energies quite different from those of the non-deity persuasion. Certainly she had the power to alter reality itself. But she was not quite so bored yet as to turn things into what they were not. After all, Kioku was no coward.

Instead it was only wind most fierce, a thunderstorm in open palm, and a bit of the ice once more. Such a combination of elements, it made for a real storm. There was more of course, such was to be expected of the goddess. She moved, passing by even her own spell before bringing the heavy longsword about with a leap of heights befitting the wolf. She was not worried about getting too close. Kioku would tear his wings off with her bare hands if she got the opportunity.

Sujin didn’t plan to use fog, but in the same breath he did. Anybody that knew Sujin knew that he had a strong weakness for ice and water. It was only natural, even for a God to use anything to their advantage in combat. However… Sujin was slowly getting use to the frigid cold that ice and water brought him, thanks to his lover and wife. Sujin could counter the ice and use it to his own advantage, such as the steam and fog that was being created and swirling around the ships providing cover for both sides… the battle was getting bloody and getting bloody quickly.

Another massive energy spike caused Sujin’s molten eyes to lock onwards feeling Kioku’s magic once more, almost making his scales crawl from the intense magical energies. However, his scales didn’t crawl out of fear… out of excitement. The wolf leaped into the air, passing by her own spell, her sword raised high into the air and was brought down with a thirst for the blood of the dragon like no other. Sujin countered then, his wings folding tightly onto his back as his feet squared onto the floor beneath him claws digging in. Fang then charged burning energy in his throat, evident by the flames leaking from his toothy maul.

Right claw flew upwards, catching the heavy sword once again mid swing as his scaly fingers wrapped around the sharp sword. His scales barely scratched as the dragon unleashed a molten fireball the size of a small bolder point blank range sword still in hand. As his left began to charge heat energy itself increasing the temperature around the two once more, attempting to cause the storm Kioku had started to grow more violent. “Phase two start!” Sujin roared over his mental connection with the warriors he had brought with him. Suddenly, HellFyre squad began to swoop in from all sides, raining all types of elemental spells and sharp weapons upon the sea dogs. The men that had pulled back and floating next to the boats on a raft of ice began hacking away at the ships hull, causing them to slowly take on water.

Phoenix with broken firewings, lost and alone in this dark land
Her mind focused on one thing alone, the half-breed that had become more than she had planned followed her leader, her brother, her equal, into the air, above the sea. Saphira, her dragoness mount, was more than eager to finally get into a fight, and to test her skills against the most prominent threat to their world right now…Kioku. She was causing more trouble for them than anyone else had, and it made both Saphira and Lirial angry. What right did the goddess have to try and become the sole ruler of Avalon? No one, no matter who, or what, they were had the privilege to do so.

After Sujin’s command, Lirial and Saphira landed on another of the ships, a few ships away from Sujin’s chosen vessel…Kioku’s own ride. He was talking with her for a time, longer than the girl deemed necessary. The men on the boat she was on eyed her with distrust, anger, and fierceness that few could rival, but the young she-elf cared little. Her blood was boiling as it was, and she was more than ready to take on the whole lot, single handedly if need be.

At the screamed command of her trainer, Lirial let her hands burst forth into flame. She unleashed hell into the men before her, tearing them down right and left as her entire squadron followed suit, each one taking lives right and left. True, there were wounds on her side, but no losses…not yet. A dragon screamed in pain as its rider was slashed in the arm, among other ghastly wounds that were affecting both the rider and the dragon. Saphira had a slice under her right eye, and a small gash appeared on Lirial, blood oozing down the side of her face.

It didn’t take long to dispatch the men on this ship, and Liri looked around, the fog slowly gaining ground…or was it water? – on them. Sujin was in the middle of a heated battle with Kioku, and the she-elf had no intention of letting Sujin try to take her on on his own. She believed he could do it, but she didn’t want to take the risk of him getting in over his head with an angry goddess.

Clambering aboard Saphira, Liri shouted for her troops to finish the job, and the two flew off toward the main ship. Using the masts to catapult herself forward, Saphira managed to land on the deck of the ship, just as the fog became its thickest, hiding the blue-silver dragon from sight. Had Liri not had a mental connection with the other riders, and the other members of the fighting party, she wouldn’t have found her way around easily at all.

Be careful, Sujin…she is full of tricks and malice… was her mental caution to her dear friend.
