The final hours of night had set, and whilst the star sprinkled sky remained motionless, the Ocean and the winds continued in their moonlit waltz upon the Coral Cove and beyond. It was here, a beach untouched by the human hand, where Rememdium believed could be used as a gateway to two of the greatest elements; wind and water. Those were the elements that he personally thought reflected his heart the most, and he respected them - partially for that reason and partially because they were the two main sources of life in this world. Despite the fact that the Coral Cove was popular among many folk, it was completely empty (as far as Rememdium was concerned), probably because of the time. But, however lonesome the beach may seem, the youth liked it that way. It gave time for people to think, reflect and find inner peace, something that the young boy did often. Among all emotions, peaceful was one of the boy's favourites - it was the most balanced emotion in his opinion. From what he knew, people didn't usually do irrational things when they're at peace. Walking across the golden sand, Rememdium edged closer towards the waves and knelt - facing towards the North Star. His face was fixed in an expression of melancholy. Closing his eyes, the boy gradually slipped into meditation - allowing the sound of water massaging sand and wind sifting through earth become a part of him. Rememdium then rose his two hands and clasped them, opening his lips to mouth words that would be completely oblivious to any passerbys. "Power of water, wind and rain, I send thy power to cleanse heart's from pain." It was a prayer for the world. The world that had long since rotted away in it's time of disillusioned peace. And he prayed, he prayed for the people that suffered from the emotional wrath of each other and the physical wrath of neglect. He didn't expect an answer - but he hoped at least that the spirits of water and wind would be informed that the world was in it's time of need. But besides blessing the world with his good will, Rememdium hoped that his influence and hope that the world would get a hold of itself would indirectly help him find his parents. And so his words flew through the winds, to be drowned out by distance and by wave clashing upon rock... To be made once more as the words were born anew from his lips. |

The sky and the moon were beautiful, as stars were hung in the sky, twinkling at her like little fireflies. It was amazing the beauty that this land held, that Avalon herself held. When Rika had first come here, she had hoped that her time would be short and perhaps her life would be ended sometime soon. Now, at eighteen years old, she only wished that life would slow down and she could hold onto her youth for longer. Engaged to be married, noble over a flourishing town; all those things reminded her of how much she had grown and changed since first coming here. The ocean still soothed her, it's waves were as constant as anything she could find here. In Avalon, you could be whatever you wished to be, to think that she had been a simple peasant girl when she had come here was almost painful. All she had wanted was some peace in her soul, and she had found so much more. There was another figure on the beach- her green eyes shining the moonlight, she could hardly make him (or her) out. It appeared as though they were extremely short, or kneeling, and the latter seemed more likely. Not wanting to disturb anything, she hung back rather shyly, wondering if perhaps she should leave to give whoever this was some peace. That was one of the few reasons she could think of to explain why someone would be out here this late, though she hardly had a reason for being here herself. 'If they notice me, I'll say something, but perhaps I should find another spot on the beach...,' she thought, and then moved a few feet down from where whoever it was, was sitting, and knelt in the sand, watching the reflection of the moon on the waves. Thinking was what she did often, for she had had much time to do so during her stay in Preah. During that time, she had been sleeping off her illness, but her old nightmares had come back- old fears with new faces. She fought them as well as she could, but the life she led now was just so busy that most nights she fell into bed and slept dreamlessly. She worked herself hard, Rika did, knowing that the moment she slacked off meant another night of screaming and seeing those she loved murdered brutally. Right when she thought she was healthy. And the noble was happy, there was no dening that, but her eyes had a haunted look that was painful for those who loved her to see. "Gods of many shapes and sizes, of elements and of lives, allow those I love to move on in peace and understand true happiness," almost the moment the words left her, they were tugged away by the wind, and Rika had forgotten that perhaps she wasn't alone on this beach, and she didn't realize her mistake. Perhaps it was for the better. |
