The flight had taken an hour and a day, and the angel had to rest on small jutting islands of rock throughout her journey. Although angels were hard to tired, Jane was exhausted. She was glad that she had finally reached the combination of caves, islands and peninsulas that made up the Sea Dragon's Nest. The only reason she came here... For the dragons of course. From the rumours she'd heard, the Sea Dragons were relatively friendly beasts. The angel hoped they were true or the angel was in trouble. She didn't fancy fighting dragons, even with her newfound powers.

Walking through the strange tropical island, the angel turned every now and then to inspect the vegetation that grew around her. Slightly disturbed that she couldn't identify a single one of them, the angel walked on towards the caves that loomed over the dense island forests. Once she reached the border of the forest, the angel frowned, not liking the heat and humidity of this place at all.

"God! I hope I don't get lost in this... hell hole of a garden." cursed Jane under her breath.

Taking a step forward, the angel drew in a breath to regain confidence before striding forward. Before long, the sounds of birdsong, monkeys chattering, insects buzzing and doing their microscopic business engulfed the angel. She actually found it quite amusing though grew bored of the sounds over time. The rest of the journey through the forest remained uneventful and by the time she was starting to feel comfortable in the forest, Jane saw a cave mouth looming over her.

"Yay! Cave!" said the angel enthusiastically.

Why him? It just had to happen to him. And how was still so very confusing. He had to of been tricked, or jumped, or so very drunk if he had somehow gotten captured. And he didn't even know why. The pounding headache that had been annoying him for several hours was probably pointing towards the drunken point.

So, as far as he could put together, some pirates, guessed they were pirates simply because he didn't ask questions while killing them, kidnapped him to do the heavy labor or something. Honestly he couldn't figure it out but that wasn't the problem at the time being. The problem was the boat, the boat that ran a ground. But that wouldn't of been so bad, if a sea dragon hadn't attacked him and the boat for invading its territory. He fought the dragon all the way back to its cave, oh did he fight, for he wasn't one to let himself be overcomed by some big lizard just because he didn't have an axe or what not.

He was Codrus, a large brute of a man, and he was tired as all get out. But it wasn't time to rest, he had to get back to mainland. As Jane was making her way towards the cave, Codrus emerged from it. Blood dripped off his body, but it was a combination of his blood and the dragon's blood. He had lost his shirt somewhere along the way, his countless scars revealed and several of them reopened along with several new ones, big new ones. And if that wasn't odd enough, his right arm stood out quite a bit more. He had to use his demonic powers to take the dragon, but not to the full extent. His right arm was still transformed, being a dark red color with spikes lining his hand and going up his arm to his shoulder.

Codrus grumbled, rather grouchy with the whole little trip. It was when he finally took a moment to breath, did he notice the angel. "Whats this..." Unlike others, who'd be surprised and awed, Codrus was annoyed. He had a bit of a distaste for angels. And after that little quarrel with the dragon, he was in no mood to deal with supposedly higher being. With his irritation, the spikes on his arm grew an inch or so. He tried to wait patiently for the angel to explain her presence before he decided to rip off those pretty little wings.

Before the formerly cheerful angel entered the cave, a ruffled looking man stepped out of it; with an arm cast in something... Like spikes? No that wouldn't be right, it seemed to be some kind of mutation or even worse... Could this man before her right now be a demon? She hoped not. Her powers hadn't grown to such an extent as to fight one so Jane just stood there, staring blankly at the man as if he was some sort of spectacle.

"Errr... Hi. Would you excuse me for a moment. I would like to pass and visit those lovely Sea Dragons." said Jane, hoping that she hadn't annoyed the man in any way.

Looking sternly at his face, Jane could tell that this man was beyond annoyed. The blood that dripped off him... The ripped clothes... It almost seemed like he had fought a sea dragon. The angel frowned. She didn't like people who resorted to fighting. Jane always thought they were stupid. Only those who were intellectually talented wouldn't have bothered with botching a dragon with their bare fists.

"By the gods what have you done? Did you fight a Sea Dragon or something? If you killed one I'll..." the angel paused.

From the distance, she saw a couple of rather sturdy looking rocks and lifted them up with her mind. She was in no way pleased to see that this man had harmed an innocent creature of the deep, and she was prepared to punish him for the deed. Even if it means I'll need to be stupid... thought Jane as she winced.

She wasn't leaving, which caused a bit of frustration. Me...move? For that? His right fist tighetened as the crimson color from his arm spread slightly across his chest, more spikes penetrating his flesh and coming to the surface. "Lovely Sea Dragons ya say?" He laughed coldly, "Not so lovely now, lass..Tought them a lesson or two about picking fights, aye."

Codrus turned to face her, cracking his neck. Another fight he could do, it'd be alot easier than the dragon, and much more enjoyable. "And what if a killed one I did? What shall ya do 'bout it, little girl?" His dark brown eyes locked with hers, showing his building anger and cold-hearted feelings towards anything that opposed him. "Must still be young to think ya can fight me, aye, that must be it...silly lil' angel...I will break you." His final words were cold and said with a certain confidence and truth.

Jane arched one of her eyebrows, not prepared to face a demon quite yet. She projected her mental energies towards the hand-sized rocks and thrust them towards the demon at arrow-like speed. Hoping that this wouldn't piss the demon off further, the angel instinctively turned invisible and began flying, encircling the demon carefully so as to ensure that the demon would not feel the air currents.

Looking around her, Jane found more useful tools that could be used to throw at the demon. But she knew that if she grew tired, things would go horribly wrong. The demon would surely rip her apart... But by then she probably would have flown away. But she wanted to see the Sea Dragons first before returning to the heavens. And this demon wasn't about to stop her.

"Get out of the way! You don't know what you're dealing with!" said Jane, preparing for another ranged assault. "I am a Ninth Rank angel and I'm not afraid to use my powers."

Codrus grinned wide, this was going to be a treat. He hadn't had a chance to fight an angel, he hoped she wouldn't disappoint. He felt several small rocks smash into his back and arm, but he wasn't sure what she planned to do with such little things. "Is that the extent of yer powers, aye? Throwing little pebbles at me, oh, yes, I must fear the power of angels now, don't I little girl.."

With a harsh laugh, he started walking forward. "Hiding, hm...just like ya'll...always hiding, always looking down on everyone else, heh...Yer nothing." Codrus gritted his teeth, searching for the angel, any sign of her. Then she spoke and a smirk appeared as he launched forward, aiming a punch where he heard her voice.

The angel's eyes widened when the demon lashed out at her, narrowly dodging the punch. She held back a gasp or any exclamation which would have produced sound as that seemed to be the only means the demon had of getting at her. Putting her fingers on her temples, the angel concentrated on trying to strike the man with her mental energies. She had seen skilled archangels making boulders fly for miles through their telekinesis and she was about to attempt this on the demon.

Throwing a concentrated amount of mental energy at the chest of the demon, thrusting out with her mind as if it was a weapon or a fist. At first, the force did nothing; but as the pressure of the strike increased, Jane smiled. While trying to push the demon off balance, she was meddling with other things... Such as picking up sufficient amounts of dirt to blind the demon.

Codrus growled, annoyed he hadn't hit her yet, but oh he would, soon. He stopped to examine the situation, while waiting for her to make a mistake. Flight, invisbility and telekinesis...but she is weak, weak and pathetic..I give her one punch and t'is done... He started to feel pressure build apon his chest, like something was trying to push him. This only made him grin.

"Do ya think, with yer weak powers, ya push me? ME?!" He only started to further his transformation, his left arm now changing, turning crimson and boney spikes pretruding from his skin. Dirt then began to lift up, trying to block his sight, though she was already invisible. This suddenly gave him an idea. Codrus reached down and picked up a good sized hanful of dirt. He suddenly leapt forward and tossed the dirt in an arch around himself. When the dirt connected with her body, it formed a feint outline of her figure, just enough to give him a target which he charged for with a left jab towards her gut with the sharp spikes between his knuckles aimed to pierce her flesh.

[OOC: Eep. Stop trying to kill Jane. >_>]

Seeing the demon pick up dirt from the ground, the angel frowned. It didn't seem to make any sense until he really threw it at her. The dirt showed her outline, making it much easier a target for the demon. Before the angel could react, the demon was already charging at her, but at the least she got her torso out of the way. One of the demon's spikes sliced through the flesh of her calf as she flew upwards, making her presence painstakingly obvious as the drops of blood fell from her ankle.

Flying further towards the skies so that the demon would be unable to reach her, Jane made an assortment of branches, pebbles and a few rather unpleasant varieties of insects levitate with her, dropping them from above once she got them on the right position. The angel watched with an amused look on her face as the objects fell from the skies to fall upon the demon.

"Damnable creature of the underworld! No wonder the Blessed One wished to decimate your kind! I shall find another cave!" screamed Jane.

Before Jane did anything else, the angel ripped off a piece of her robes and wrapped it around her ankle so that the blood would stop dripping all over the place. She didn't want the demon or other nasty creatures following her trail of blood. Taking in a deep breath, Jane fell from the skies, skimming past the demon and flying into the darkness of the same cave.

((ain't trying to kill her silly...maim perhaps..Cod likes to maim O.o))

Satisfaction...t'was sweet. Finally he had drawn blood, all he really wanted. Codrus could rest assured now. He wanted to pick a fight for his own little reasons, the one most important of all, was that the angel could be hurt. And if she could, all could. Not that he was going to go start a war or anything, he just liked knowing if he could hurt the beings, since half of his blood made him mortal enemies with the celestials from the beginning.

Codrus started to feel little tid-bits of all manner of things started hitting him from the sky above. "How annoying this girl be..." With a yawn, his arms reverted back to normal and for once he looked human, as human as a seven foot tall brute of a man with dragon blood covering his body and what not.

"Ya know lass, I'm not even entirely demon, aye. So, if ya woldn't mind shutting that trap of yers with the rude talk." Codrus chuckled to himself as a gust of wind washed over him with the angel's passing. "Ya do that...and enjoy the view in that cave ther'." With that he started walking, on an attempt to find his shirt and the boat and to wash this damnable dragon blood off of him.

The atmosphere was dark; the climate cooling. Somehow, Jane enjoyed the protective element the shadows had to them. They weren't the type of shadows that blinded you so completely and utterly that you start thinking you're seeing suspicious things in them that aren't really there. They're the type that make you feel like you have been well concealed. It was unusual for angels to enjoy darkness seeing that they live in cities that are consumed with inner light; but it was probably the fact that Jane still had many strings holding her back to good old human nature.

From the distance, the angel could hear the sound of deep, pained breathing. It was probably coming from one of the Sea Dragon's that unfortunately came into the path of what Jane thought to be an ill-tempered half-demon that only knew how to solve his problems through fights. Before long, the angel came in sight of the Sea Dragon. There was blood everywhere, but the angel had a feeling that the dragon had a fighting chance to survive. None of the vital organs appeared to have been pierced though the dragon was heavily bruised.

Maybe it's knocked out... thought Jane.

At first glance, the dragon could very well have been dead. But taking a closer look. experienced healers would see that the only way this dragon could possibly die was through blood loss. And apparently dragons had plenty of blood and just a meagre portion of it was enough to keep them alive. Seeing that most of the bleeding had stopped, Jane sat beside the dragon, looking at it with a sympathetic eye. Turning, she saw the sea that somehow stretched into a chasm of lower lying caves, forming somewhat of a salt water lake in the large cave the dragon inhabited.

Hope that awful half-demon doesn't come back. thought the angel, her frown expressing wariness. The half-demon was pretty damn strong in body and the low ranking angel was no match against him. She was surprised that he wasn't following her, but knew that was probably because of the other half of him - the human side. That part of him was probably the thing stopping him from killing her in cold blood. In truth, the angel had little against demons and fallen angels... They were just... There. Many a time, Jane saw newcoming angels being brainwashed by the elders, giving them the stereotypical view that all demons were that bad. But were they really? Couldn't there be some sliver of good within the hearts of all beings?

The angels sat there next to the mountain of a dragon, her eyes dreamy and unfocused... thinking.

Codrus came to a stop after he found his shirt, which took only forever. The dragon and himself had been fighting for a good while and tore through the side of the island. But he didn't finish it off, he was tired of fighting the beast and just wanted to leave. And he thought the dragon done with anyways. And then that girl, that angel appeared and created a nuisance, delayed him from getting to the boat and leaving. He was just irritated now and was beginning to have a conflict of interest.

"I could go to the boat and try to get off this bloody island." He raised his right hand, like he was weighing something, "Or go back and kill the dragon and the angel...Because they annoyed me so." It was a tough decision, one he just couldn't figure out. "Ya know what, the angel had it coming, bothering me..." He turned around, a grin on his face as he marched back to the cave, "This time, this time she won't get away so easily."

(( :P *bites Coddy Cod and pokes him in the eye* ... O_o I haven't poked someone in the eye in ages. >_> <_< >_<))

Jane sat up again, thinking that it would be good if the dragon worked out a bit of its muscles. It would be painful, but the overload of pain have basically stiffened the Sea Dragon's muscles to an unnatural extent. Seeing that most of the injuries were just cuts and bruises to the dragon's perspective, the angel gently woke the dragon by placing her hand on its head and stroking the smooth scales with a calm air.

At first, the dragon opened its eyes and jerked back hesitantly, unsure of whether to take this angel as a threat or a friend. His previous experience with humanoid figures was rather unpleasant, and he was not about to trust this woman quite yet. Seeing the woman's gentle and calm manner, as well as the pair of wings on her back, the dragon started pondering whether he was seeing things. Before long, a small amount of trust was laid on the angel, as almost all beings of this world know that angels are normally beings of purity and kindness.

"You need to go back into the sea. The lands not safe for you. And next time don't go meddling with evil demons or half-demons. Those things are for us angels to take care of." said Jane warmly.

The dragon understood little of what the angels had said and looked at the angel questioningly. Then, instinct called and the sea dragon dove into the sea water. Jane smiled, knowing that the sea dragon was probably the mightiest beings of the Deep, apart from magically talented merfolk of course but the angel doubted that those mysterious creatured did not live in harmony with such friendly and intelligent dragons.

Suddenly, Jane heard footsteps coming from the outer regions of the cave. She frowned, unsure of whether it was just some kind wanderer or some other creature that didn't like the company of angels - like Codrus. Cautiously, the angel turned on her invisibility again. It was better to be safe than sorry.

Codrus didn't take precautions as he stombed onward into the cave, looking forward to the destruction soon to come. But that wasn't oing to happen as all he came to was a stop of blood on the floor. "What?..Hmph..Guess the dragon left, shows that overgwon lizard.." Codrus was about to leave but he had a urge to stay. He felt something, some presence. "Hmph?"

If the angel was here, she was invivible. So how could he go about finding her. He had to think for a moment, "Guess that coward of an angel flew off. Well, good, a taint on the world, such weaklings. Sitting up in the sky, acting superior, like they control the world. No better than dogs." Codrus grinned, cracking his knuckles. If she was there, he hoped that'd draw her out, "Bloody cretins."

The angel held her breath, trying her best not to loose her temper over those insults. The angels were not dogs, and they do not think they are superior. They were only here to guide the mortals in their lives as well as make a sanctuary of peace for those who were good enough in heart to live in for the afterlife. Most of all, the angels protected humanity from the demons. If it was not for the angels, the whole world would've been in control of those vile creatures.

Jane finally decided to make peace. It wasn't very angel like of her to act in such an annoying manner. Although she was slightly afraid of the demon, Jane was still prepared to try. Flying upwards stealthily, Jane took off her guise, appearing in midair while hovering over the half-demon.

"I have decided to make ammends. I am a messenger to the mortals, not a fighter, and I apologize for being an annoyance. You... you can hit me if you want. I'm an angel... I can heal..." said Jane, her voice turning into a whimper when she said those last words.

Dropping to the ground, the angel hesitantly waited for the demon. Unsure of whether letting him rent out the remnants of his anger at her was such a great idea...
