There was something strange and beautiful about the sea, it was large, eternal and majestic. The sounds it makes, the life it contains seems to create a certain calm around the coastline that surrounded the Deep Ocean. Jane sat upon a pinnacle of rock which jutted out from the white foam and salty water which constantly rammed against its bottom. The angel was partially homesick, though in actuality she enjoyed the company of humans. They needed so much guidance and Jane was prepared to give them a helping hand. Too bad heaven can't make a charity centre for children in need for parents and beggars that need a new way of life. thought Jane. Watching the two nearby ships sail deeper and deeper into the large ocean, Jane turned her eyes back to the beach, the distant port and the crossroads which lay beyond the beach. The people at the port were too far away and probably would have mistaken her for a bird of some kind if she took flight now. The crossroads were now empty while the only life on the beach where the small white crabs which crawled about it clumsily. Turning back to the ships, the angel calculated whether the crew would be able to see her or not. In the end, Jane decided they could, so she waited for them to pass a little longer. Within a few minutes, Jane prepared for her ascent to the Clouds. By thrusting her wings several times, she took off into the skies and warily watched the ships to ensure that none of the sailor's eyes caught her. Nowadays, the Heavenly Authorities did not take mortal-angelic sightings lightly. They often fined angels for revealing themselves as they felt that the riches in the Heavens Above would lure the races of Avalon to begin a war against the angels... Just for the sake of those holy artifacts and pure gold. Most would believe that the angels would win the war with their magical potency, but whoever thought that was wrong. Within the Bible were codes... laws that restricted the angels and demons from universal imbalance. Those laws were perhaps the only reasons why there were no pure-blooded angels and demons rampaging Avalon to cleanse sin and do what they do. Flapping harder, Jane glided further and further upwards towards the First Gate; which apparently was guarded by the Telia'vintium. But before she got anywhere near that gate, a gust of great wind blew her backwards... Back towards the land... Jane had selected the sea for flying back to Heaven for one simple reason, it was isolated. But there were the cons in such a place; the wind was stronger, dangerous for both sailors and angels alike. |

Fallen Angel

She didn’t really know why she was here. Oh she knew why she was here, on this lightless realm of mortality, but as to why she was near the ocean, she could not figure. Maybe she just needed to get away for awhile, it was growing more and more difficult to hide her wings, and to pretend she was just a human woman of no particularly great talent. Only few had eve known her for what she was. Now that her wings had grown back fully she decided it was time for a bit of flight. Being above the ocean made flight so very easy, the wind was good here, and though it carried with it the distinctly salt scent of the ocean, Juliana found she rather enjoyed the bit of respite a place such as this could bring. However, she could not fly for very long, after all she had only healed recently. Her descending to Avalon had not been a pleasant experience. She had been cast down by her kin, brutalized to an extent and then trapped down here. She was from a different part of the light above, she was part of different sects and her rank was not even something she would bother mentioning. She was more a warrior than anything, she had not been created and borne to take care of people or provide blessings. But she fell into the middle of a war, and she couldn’t chose sides. Such was what lead her to here. For the moment, she had landed at a near hidden outcropping of rock, none of the passing ships could see her from this location and that was just the way she wanted. There was nothing but the wind in her hair and the sound of the waves as she landed with bare feet upon the rocky soil and took a seat at the very edge of the cliff. It was then she heard another sound, like that of … wings? … Juliana could not help but wonder what it was heading her way. Another fallen perhaps? |
![]() Falling from the sky baby, I must have lost my wings. I never thought I'd ever leave the place where angels sing. Oh help me won't you baby, cause I have to kiss the sky. With out the wings you gave me, you know it's hard to fly. I've fallen from my cradle, I guess that's why the call me the Fallen Angel. I guess that's why, you know I just can't fly. | |

As the updraft blew the angel off course, Jane caught sight of an angel as she suffered a wild volley of backflips and spirals. The angel wondered why this angel was visible. Could it be that it was a new angel like herself? That could be a reason why she wasn't shielded. Or perhaps she was one of the fallen? Jane shuddered at that thought. If this angel was part of the Fallen, it was the first time the angel was so close to one of them. The only angels whom were despised by the true Winged Folk. Though Jane was a pretty confident flyer, she really wasn't prepared for a crash landing. Five years of Flight Academy Training wasn't quite enough to fill up all the emergency situations, some of the Archangels even trained for centuries to get such knowledge... But Jane? She wasn't prepared for this crash. This landing was special and she had no idea how fast she was going or how far away she was from her pinpointed landing site. "First things first, get to position 06PD: Common Parachutical Dive." whispered Jane. It took all her effort to get her wings to the right position, but the effort paid off immediately as her wings were beginning to catch wind and slow her down. The next problem was whether or not the land was far away enough from her. If she fell on the ground at this speed, her spine would have cracked like a twig no matter how perfect she got her landing position. Now she had two choices, fly up again for another landing or just land now. Jane chose to land immediately, a fatal mistake though fortunately one without casualties. Once the angel reached the ground, she realized that her speed was still too great. Slamming against the ground with a loud thud, a jolt of pain shot through the angel's knee. If that were to happen to a human, their legs would have broken, but angel bones were made of tougher stuff than that of the weak-willed mortals. The angel had to stay in her position for a few minutes before the dizzy spell stopped. But once she looked up, she smiled at the other angel like she always did to anyone else she met. "Good evening." said Jane, her tone practiced but genuinely friendly. |
