Astrid, upon taking ownership of the Fortress, decided to let this room alone, as a reminder of the first owner. It was his personal temple to the Goddess Kaliyah, and she leaves it be, for the most part. Few people come here, though there are followers who have decided that this is the ideal place to sacrifice. Astrid herself avoids it, and does not speak about it in public. The floor and wall is black, and sticks to the foot or boot like tar, only it is composed of drying blood. Large fountains rise from the ground, statues of angels and cherubs standing in the middle, pouring blood from vases into the main basin at the bottom, or crying blood from their eyes. The statues sport wounds, blood flowing from them and staining the stone structures red beneath them. A pillar of fire rises in the corner, prepared for sacrifices toward the Goddess.

Plain and small, she takes over two rooms; a small sitting room, and her personal bed room. Both are sparsely furnished, the former of the two having wall to wall bookcases. She rarely entertains, and uses the sitting room as her study. Her bedroom is small and plain, a double bed pushed against one wall, stacks of books and paper littering the floor. Beware those who want to enter; there are powerful spells protecting both doors, and she has little care to kill those who disturb and violate her privacy.
