Veidin is a small town, but well-known to the people of these lands, as the Lord here does not acknowledge the rule of the Fincaryan King; his people go by his words alone and consider Blackmoor and the entirety of Gramarye to be their domain. In this remote area there are no roads, and the simple, sturdy stone houses sit on the dewy grasses of a shallow valley in the east of the region. The main points of interest here are the many windmills dotting the skirts of the town, and the foreboding fortress that plays host to a company of great knights in service of their liege, Lord Veidin. These men serve also to protect the locals from the frequent orcish raids on the town, and keep a close watch on all those visitors passing through.

Many a year has passed since the last man left this town. Now the empty houses and streets are home only to wild animals and faeries; playful creatures skilled in magical arts. Though they sometimes play tricks on passing wanderers, they are mostly good of heart, and often tend to those wounded and traumatised few who return from Vathegis. As for the town itself, it seems that it had been evacuated in great haste, as many things remain as a reminder of its inhabitants. Armouries fully-stocked, shops littered with the remains of decayed foodstuffs, homes filled with personal mementos. At a guess one would say that whatever destroyed Dunil Regild in the east also had a hand in driving the life out of this once bustling place.

Another mystery of Gramarye. This is the so-called 'Great Bridge' that lies with its western end attached to the ghost-town of Ashbay, which stretches some thirty miles out into the open sea before crumbling into nothing. Even at this distant end point, it is impossible to see land anywhere close, with only open ocean stretching out in all directions. The remains of this structure also are heavily damages, filled with gaping holes in the granite stonework, and the guard towers strewn across its length mostly in ruins.

A light, but freezing mist permanently shrouds this place, the home of many evil things. The occasional scattered graves, petrified adventurers and scorched groves are indicitave of the nature of the local inhabitants - faeries. Though their stature is small, each one of the many that roam the dark forest of Vathegis wields terrifying magic that even the scholarly mages of the Fincayran capital can barely compete with. In spite of the countless tales of death associated with this place, many are drawn to the legends of fantastic treasures and magical relics littering the region.
